Rose clung to her rhyhorn tightly, surprised with how fast it had bolted forward, even running right into the cave! Unfortunately, the rocky ride didn't leave her unscathed - her arms and knees were scratched up and bruised from bumping against the rhino. At least it wasn't anything too bad, though. Inside the cave, the Rhyhorn finally stopped running, grumbling as it gave a bit of a shake as if to tell Rose to get off. The red head got the idea and hopped off of his back. "Wow! You really do move fast, don't you? Thanks for the ride!" Rose exclaimed, patting it's head. The Rhyhorn grumbled a bit more, still a bit unsure what to think of this oddball of a trainer. The girl that had caught him had assured that he'd be going to a good home, and though he didn't know her for long, she seemed... trustable. He felt a bit more comfortable being back in a cave, too, even though it wasn't his home cave. "Heh. I think I'll call you Rumble." Rose announced. The rhyhorn didn't really care, but did give a snort of amusement at the name.
Fynx finally caught up, lighting up her stick and coming up behind Rose. "Rose, that was completely reckless!!" she barked at her trainer. Rose squeaked and shied back a bit, smiling sheepishly at her starter. "Aw... b-but i'm alright! I was just really excited to have a rhyhorn of my own..." Rose mumbled a bit. "Give the girl a break, huh. Just let her know not to jump on me so suddenly again." Rumble snorted at Fynx. The delphox looked at the rocky rhino, a bit surprised. She kind of expected the Rhyhorn to be a bit more upset about the ordeal, but he sounded more like he was... amused? It was hard to tell when he had such a stoic tone. "Hm. No harm done then... Don't jump on him so suddenly anymore." Fynx finally said to her trainer. Oblivious to the fact that the two pokemon had conversed, Rose smiled a bit, glad that everything seemed to turn out okay.
She soon got a message from her holocaster, and it was from Ajicka! She opened it up and viewed the message. "Hey! Ajicka got a shiny Fennekin of her own! And she got her 8th badge!" the red head exclaimed, then opened up a message to return to her. "Hi Ajicka! I like your fennekin! I'm over in Connecting Cave right now, and just got to spend some time with the Rhyhorn you sent me! Thank you so much for sending him to me~ It really makes me happy to have one of my own. And Congrats on your eight gym badges! I bet Jas is super strong now, huh? We should really meet up again sometime. It's really nice to hear from you." Rose recorded her message with a big smile, then sent it off.

After having sent her friend a message in return, Rose continued on through the cave. Fynx had noticed a kind of weak presence following them. It was that ghostly cat from the festival. Had it followed all this way? It seemed to be pretty weak now, and the Delphox couldn't help but feel bad for it. Unfortunately, she couldn't see a way that Rose would take the initiative, especially since she seemed oblivious to it's presence. While walking, the delphox slipped a paw into her trainer's bag, pulling out a ball and capturing the Flurry in it quickly before hiding the ball up her fur sleeve. Rose didnt' seem to notice at all, and they kept moving. Fynx decided she'd wait a bit before introducing them. It would probably do her some good to have a ghost pokemon, especially one so cute. There was no malice in it, either, so ... yeah, it really would be good for Rose to keep this one. To try and teach her that not all ghosts are bad.

The cave was pretty short, so the end of it came up pretty quickly. Rose, being excited to be back home again, and meet up with Marx, ran ahead. Fynx and Rumble, however, didn't rush after her. "Are you sure you are alright with her?" Fynx asked the Rhyhorn. The rock rhino grunted, continuing forward. "She's strange but okay." he stated, earning a slightly confused look from the Delphox. The silvery fox sighed, giving up on the topic for now and catching up with her trainer.

Alexandra couldn't find much peace of mind throughout her travels, first Lumoise City and now Connecting Cave, there were just too many places with enclosed spaces for her comfort. At the very least, this new change of scenery only helped her to move faster; the brunette sped-walked throughout the cavern, slowing down to an amble just long enough to allow Obsidian to take on a Whismur. The pokemon were getting stronger, the little one took two moves instead of the usual KO to take down, which was a relief, when you considered the training benefit, but also reminded her to keep a few potions handy.

After his usual body shake, Obsidian trotted to join Alexandra, slowing down so that he lagged behind, to taken on any hiding pokemon, but not so far that he lost track of his team. He had long sense shed his hesitance for battle and quickly grown comfortable with it, some might say he even enjoyed it. Another familiar face popped its head out of one of the holes and scampered forward, emitting a muffled yip of satisfaction when the Whismur flinched from his bite. It only took a spray of stars to knock it unconscious and afterwards, after his shake, he scrambled to catch up.

They were just reaching the end of the cave, the late evening's sun shining down and making for a bright exit goal, when Obsidian ran into his last opponent. The Meditite went down easily, despite the fact that it originally had protected itself from his Shadow Ball, which was steadily growing more impressive, but failed to do so again and was subsequently sent flying back. Out of sight out of mind, with a sniff Obsidian finally caught up to Alexandra, fully, trotting right by her heels as they left the cave.

There was a glittering cave that was supposed to be on the other side of Cyllage, there was the odd cave that had a different aesthetic but for the most part it was a pretty trivial chore having to fly through caves. He was eager to gain the fly ability to make travelling a breeze. He had found a rare Pokemon called a Pawniard, with a unique type combination that would fit well with his strategy. As he began out towards Cyllage city he was relieved to be out of the cave knowing full well that he had to go back inside it before he headed back to Johto. His team had grown a bunch and given themselves alot more coverage in terms of move types. But he still had alot to go before he was happy with where they were. As he walked through the cave he thought about being back in Johto. Grant was a pushover, but he knew that Whitney would be much more difficult and would more than likely be the first real battle on his journey. He really couldn’t shake the feeling that he was near a trainer who was on a similar quest. Marx looked up in thought at Alex's question, apparently, surprisingly, taking it rather seriously as they headed out of town, and towards Connecting Cave. "I dunno," he finally replied after a moment, still looking up even as they entered the dark area, and he could hardly even see the ceiling. "I'm not really htat good with battling stuff. I dunno if I even could defeat gym leaders that strong..." He didn't sound self-depricating-- just honest, and thoughtful. Heck, he wasn't even sure he could defeat the third gym leader, let alone the fourth, fifth, sixth... Yeah, that sounded damn near impossible. He shook his head a bit, finally dropping his hands to his sides.
"I guess I'll just see how things go! I still wanna do contests and ranger stuff, too, but if my pokemon get stronger doing that, maybe I'll try and battle the gyms too!" he decided, smiling. Obviously, he wasn't really thinking of the whole obedience issue. If he had been, he might have considered it more, or at least started contemplating alternative ways to go about that. But, even with Shenaiya's semi-sort-of-recent reminder about such issues, not to mention Felix's warning, it clearly wasn't on his mind.
He glanced down as Cheria replied again, smiling a bit, and quickly typing a response.

He clearly didn't mind at all that she used his name. Why would he? He thought it was funny, maybe even clever. He was less sure on the innocent thing, though. He never would have thought of himself as that... He knew stuff, after all. He'd certainly been through stuff. Maybe it was just because he didn't know a bunch of stuff? Or didn't think of it...
