✿ ❀ Isis was so happy to see everyone again, giving Alex a friendly greeting and giving out hugs to Shenaiya and Marx as they came one by one. After everyone had gathered, Isis started snapping photos as the festivities commenced, not wanting to miss any memories being made. Though it wasn't uncommon for Isis to take pictures, this particular batch was also part of her birthday gift to Rose. She hoped that by sending her all the great shots she would get during the party, Rose would be able to keep these memories forever with her. It was kind of corny, sure, but it was things like this that had stemmed her love of photography in the first place. First they headed to Rose's house to eat, exchange gifts, have cake, and mingle. Isis didn't want to leave her pokemon out of the festivities, but there was only so much room in Rose's house, so she needed to pick a select few of her own to join. Wraith, Yang, Nocturne, Hylia, Raja, and Hinata were all out of the question, since Wraith and Yang were troublemakers, Noc was too aggressive, Raja was still exhausted from battling all those ghosts, Hylia freaked Rose out, and Hinata would have shocked everyone present with the exception of Zero. Electra would probably sleep the whole time, knowing her, so she may as well stay in her pokeball. Tsunami would only ant to be out if they were playing on the beach, so he could stay in as well. Vixen, while on good terms with Rose, would be an attention hog, s it was probably best she stay in her ball as well. In the end, Isis decided to let Dune, Atona, and Vulcan out to join in the festivities. Dune reunited with his old pals Caldo and Faye, though he was also tackled and snuggled by Marx's flygon as well. He still wasn't quite sure how to cope with her, or get around the language barrier, but he happily played with her throughout the day and helped watch over her egg, and by nightfall he was happily snuggling with her around said egg to keep it, and each other warm for some good night's sleep. Vulcan was an integral part of the discussion/lecture that Alex gave everyone on megastones, since he was a prime example of what could be achieved through mega evolution. He was happy to help, not only with the discussion, but other little things, like carrying Rose's cake, or heavier presents. Overall he was just generally happy to be around everyone and make small talk with the other pokemon. Atona would have been content to sit back and watch the group's activities and take a backseat perspective of it all, but Rose's Delphox seemed to have taken quite the interest in him. Not that they were total strangers either. He didn't mind talking and catching up, he was always up for a little chit chat anyways, though sometimes he swore she would say the most peculiar things. For instance; "I've heard you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but I'd like to try anyways~", and then she'd playfully scold him for looking at her aura afterwards, insisting that her eyes were up higher. While he enjoyed the normal conversation, the suggestive comments she made were a bit strange, to Atona at least. He couldn't deny that Fynx was a beautiful young vixen, but Atona himself felt too old and detached from romance to even consider flirting back. The more he ignored her charms however, the more she seemed to persist. Blowing hot puffs of air at his ears, brushing him with her tail when she passed by, pouting playfully when he sidestepped her comments or remained stonefaced in response to physical interaction. Honestly it was a wonder that Atona didn't feel uncomfortable the entire party rather than unaffected and polite as he was.
The next day meant a trip to the aquarium, which Isis was happy to see, though she had to be reminded to turn off her flash when taking pictures. She was happy too help Fynx learn about the intricacies of photography though, and found herself laughing too much to be upset about being escorted out of the aquarium. They still had the beach after all, where some of her other pokemon, such as Tsunami and Nocturne could roam free and enjoy the ocean air. After a while though, they needed to part ways. They did all have their own personal interests to pursue after all, but it was great to spend so much time with everyone. She smiled as Marx suggested they should have birthday parties more often. "Heh, yeah, absolutely! Or at least just parties." She agreed. Everyone seemed ready to leave, but personally, Isis didn't currently have much going on, so she turned to Rose with a smile. "Hey Rose, I don't have much going on right now, you wanna head with me to Lumiose for some birthday shopping?" Isis offered temptingly. ✿ ❀

"I'm here now," Alexandra answered, coming upon the group just as Marx inquired about her whereabouts. She offered them all a small smile and took the hug Marx offered her, it was obvious that this party included more than just herself, Marx and the birthday and that she was the last person to arrive, which was a bit of a question to her own pace but was a joyous sight, if not a surprise. She hadn't been told Shenaiya, Isis, and Zero would be joining their party, but was pleased none the less. "Hello all," she greeted the group but looked down when she felt something brush against her, it turned out to be Obsidian, who growled lowly at the sight of all the strangers but kept his distance. "Obsidian, behave yourself," she warned, quieting the rumbling in his chest and causing his ears to fall back. From then on he was well-behaved, though stuck close to his trainer at all times.
Since she had been the last person they were waiting for, once Alexandra had joined the group they all went off to Rose's house where gifts were exchanged. Alexandra waited patiently for a chance to give Rose her gifts, but once she had a chance she handed her the two pokemon plushies and the necklace she had bought, as well as the hug she had promised her. After that she more or less stepped into the background, content with observing the interactions and party goings. Though when it became clear that people were sending out their pokemon she did the same, though she kept her party small: Siemens for his small size, Xion to interact with Basil, who was quick to dole out an excited hug and shyly show off her new form, and Amethyst for Obsidian's sake. The psychic-type was a bit taken aback by his form change, but in no time in all had gotten used to the sight and sidled up close to try and comfort him. He allowed it, nuzzling up close to her and growling only when a strange person or pokemon grew too close.
When the sun died down the birthday party turned into a sleepover, oh goodness.. when was the last time she'd had one of those? If she didn't count the multiple times her sister had snuck into her room and snuggled up to her, then... she'd only been to three. As expected, co-ed sleeping wasn't allowed, which meant the girls were in one room and the boys (all two of them) were in another. Alexandra rather enjoyed herself, the 'girl time' allowed her the chance to get to know the other three better, and as a bonus the small Skitty that Rose owned. Somehow she managed to earn the pink feline's approval, and for the rest of the night it spent its time trying to garner her attention in several different ways, much to Obsidian's immense chagrin. Though she wasn't the only one who was popular with pokemon, at some point Noe, her newest pokemon, had let himself out and since then had stuck close to Rose. Alexandra didn't have a problem with that... if he hadn't, on several different occasions, tried to chew on her hair. It was unexpected and highly concerning, but eventually the sheep calmed down enough to fall asleep next to the redhead.
In the morning they had breakfast before they headed off to the Aquarium, which was something Alexandra was particularly excited for. There were so many tanks, filled with aquatic pokemon that she had yet to see! There was a satisfying amount of information on a plaque for each, which allowed her to learn of the multiple species that swam and darted about in the water. Xion was just as excited, dragging Basil to every different tank and waving excitedly at the pokemon that swam close enough to the glass. It all came to an unexpected end, however, when the entire group was escorted about because of some antic, or another, Marx pulled. How.... how in the world had he gotten into a tank!? Where was the security? Why hadn't anyone stopped him!? Why had he-- Alexandra stopped her mental, rapid-fire inquires as they exited the aquarium and contended herself with giving Marx a lesson on appropriate climbing-areas and that something's weren't meant to be explored later.
Though that wouldn't be the only lesson she would be giving, for once they arrived at the beach Alexandra taught Rose, and any other interested party, which included Noe since he had yet to leave the redhead's side, about megastones. Before that, however, she released a few of her pokemon, mainly Caldo and Faye, and gave them the chance to reunite with Dune. Faye was a bit disappointed that Belle wasn't with him, but she quickly contended herself with exploring and playing with any other pokemon that was willing. Alexandra used Xion as her prime example for mega evolution, though accepted the help of Isis' Mega Blaziken, Vulcan as well.
All in all, it was a grand celebration that Alexandra was more than willing to attend again, something that Marx and Isis agreed on. She wasn't quite ready to leave yet, she fully intended to talk to Marx, though that wasn't the only reason. The brunette just barely held back her squeal as she looked down at Skitty, who was adorably circling and mewling at her. Ah, he was such a little cutie~ It really was a shame that she couldn't keep him, although...
Chocolate brown orbs drifted to Noe, who was drowsily yet adamantly standing by Rose, and an idea came to her mind, a proposition really. But before she did she turned to Marx. "Marx, if you don't mind could you stay behind a few minutes? I'd like to talk to you." With that taken care of Alexandra approached Rose, Noe giving her a bleat in greeting. "Rose, would you care for a trade? Noe's taken... quite the liking to you, and I wouldn't mind taking your Skitty. He has the potential to be a great asset to my team." And he was adorable, positively so. But that wasn't a factor... that Rose needed to know, at least.

When everyone finally arrived, they were able to get the party started. Most of his pokemon couldn't really join in, either due to size or personality, but he was able to let Nova, Sei, and Agi out. They were a little more active in the party than he was, Nova having conversed with everyone at least once through the duration, Agi seemed to hover around Vulcan from time to time, and Sei simply sat back with him to watch the group. She was oddly quiet though, he didn't think he heard her say anything at any point before they went to sleep. In all, he just sort of... glided through the party.
When they got up the next day, they headed off to the aquarium after grabbing some breakfast. While the girls snapped some pictures of the Golden Magikarp statue and even tried climbing on it, Zero just spent most of the time observing the fish in the bigger tank. He watched in a new level of confusion and disbelief as Marx somehow got atop the tank, and ultimately fell in. Unfortunately, their antics got them kicked out of the aquarium, making their next stop was the beach. Not the place Zero wanted to really be too terribly, but he didn't protest. He didn't want to ruin anyone's fun. He simply sat back in a chair, as close to the rock wall as he could, under a large beach umbrella. Agi had gone back to his ball some time ago, leaving him with Sei and Nova left out. The former fell asleep again under the shadow of the umbrella, while Nova laid in a lawn chair off to the side, soaking in the sun. She'd eventually got up to join the rest in the water, but Zero had only paid partial attention, and before he knew it they were back at Rose's house, talking about having another party sometime.
Was it just him or were things really just moving that fast? Perhaps a few more days of rest were in order... But he shook his head, tossing the idea away as Isis proposed shopping in Lumiose. He gave Isis a playfully worried look, before interjecting. "Would that shopping involve me having to carry everything?"

Rose was happy to hear that her friends all had a great time to, but it was time for the party to be over. Until next time, that is. She giggled as Marx said that they should have birthday parties more often. "Well, I don't know about birthday parties, but I'm sure we can find more things to party together for! Party for all the things!~" she responded with a big smile, ultimately agreeing with Isis. She would love it if they could get together again like this more often, though... well, they all did have other things they had to get to doing. They'd have to come together another time when everyone is free.
Alexandra, after telling Marx she wanted to talk to him before he left, approached Rose. Noe, her cute little white mareep had been by her side for nearly the whole party! And her Skitty that she had left with her parents seemed to have the same attachment to Alex. Then, Alex came up with a brilliant proposal. "Heh, sure! Sounds good to me! I'm sure he'd be much happier with you than being left with my parents for any longer. Hold on-" Rose agreed to the trade, but had to step away to get his pokeball from her mom. It wasn't long before she returned, holding out Skitty's pokeball to Alexandra. "Here you go~! I promise I'll take really good care of Noe~" Rose smiled.
Isis then offered up a shopping trip to Rose. Isis didn't have anything immediate to do? That's great! Rose would love to spend more time with Isis! "That would work out quite well. That's where the next gym is. And you did just get your fly hm." Fynx commented. "Woo! Yeah! Let's go shopping~ I can even fly on Auriel!" Rose exclaimed in response, happily accepting the offer to spend more time with the photographer. Zero chimed in, asking if that would involve him carrying everything. "It's the gentleman thing to do, Zero." Fynx said in a teasing tone. Of course, he really didn't have to if he didn't want to. It didn't seem like the girls intended to enslave him with bag carrying duties. But who knows.

Alexandra couldn't stop the bright smile that came to her face when Rose agreed to the trade, though she did manage to reign herself in and give a firm nod when the young girl excused herself long enough to retrieve Skitty's pokeball. During the brief amount of time she was gone she used that time to retrieve Noe's own pokeball from her bag, having it ready and out to hand over to Rose once she returned. Their trade was quick, and afterwards she offered the redhead a smile. "I know you will," she assured her, after she'd stated she'd take care of Noe and for an example she looked to Fynx, she was a well-behaved vixen. "Thank you for confirming that with me though. I will do the same with Skitty." Alexandra crouched down long enough to give Noe a farewell pat on the head, which he responded to with a languid tail wag, which only confirmed her belief that this had been a fair trade. Noe appeared to be a well-behaved pokemon, he wouldn't give Rose too much trouble... she hoped.
Alexandra straightened herself up before she addressed Rose once more, "thank you, for inviting me to your birthday party and the trade. I hope you enjoy your shopping trip with Isis and Zero." She followed that up with w departing wave before she turned away from her. With pokeball in hand she decided to allow Skitty--he'd need a nickname soon--to continue to roam about, and together they approached Marx.
She stopped a few feet in front of him and pulled her hands together to rest on her abdomen, she'd noticed earlier how he'd caught himself from referring to her as 'Alex' and noted this to be the second time he'd done so. Of course, this wasn't the reason why she'd pulled him aside but it was something to stew on; maybe she should just give in and allow Marx to call him Alex, after all her sister already did-- and had been doing so for a number of years. "I wanted to talk to you about the aquarium," she explained, stopping long enough to draw in the appropriate amount of oxygen she'd need to give Marx his lecture. "Marx, there are many things that are meant only to be seen with our eyes and not touched with our hands, fish tanks and museum artifacts, unless stated otherwise, fall into this category. If you wish for a more personal look at aquatic pokemon, then I suggest you obtain fishing pole and go fishing in bodies of water larger than puddles-- the quality of your rod and the different areas you fish in should allow you to encounter a wide variety of different pokemon. That being said, I'm relieved that you weren't hurt in your... explorations and were not seriously reprimanded by the museum's staff."
Phew. That had been long-winded. Once finished Alexandra drew in a breath to refill her lungs with oxygen, one hand flittering up to push her glasses back across the bridge of her nose. "This wasn't the only reason why I pulled you to the side," she followed up, but this time offered a more amicable smile. "Marx, would you care to battle?" she asked, head tipping to the side gently. "I promise I won't take up too much of your time, we'll keep the battle short and only use three pokemon each. It shouldn't be too difficult either, I believe our pokemon are close in strength, and this would give you the opportunity to try your hand at another trainer battle." There! She'd formally requested a battle, and even listed off the pros to accepting her challenge; all that was left was for Marx to actually accept.

Not enjoying being in such a crowded place like this. Although it was interesting to watch. When Rose was given her gifts from her parents, Naiya grinned. Watching how attached her friend was immediately to her new pokemon. Then it was sleep over time! She stayed up for hours with Rose and Isis and Alexandra. She was never tired of giggling when she was with her friends. Glad she had some.
The next day, Naiya had some pent up energy. And decided to let it out by going for a morning run. She hadn't gone in awhile, and a run/jog up the beach sounded like a bunch of fun. She offered to her friends of course, but most were still asleep. When she got back, everyone was awake and ready to head to the aquarium. She made them wait a few minutes so she could drink some water before they headed out. Naiya was second to climb the Magikarp statue. She couldn't help herself that time. And she giggled as Xena rolled her eyes at them. Mostly just trying to keep herself from wandering off from her friends. No sooner than they had gotten around another area, Marx had gotten stuck in an aquarium! Naiya had been worried but also laughing at the fact, and then they were escorted out. Oh well!
Alexandra even brought up Megastones, which explained what some of those stones she had were, and even watched as Fynx learned how to work a camera. That was kinda cool! When it was time to leave, Naiya wasn't entirely sure where she would head next. And it seemed awful lonely. But she had Xena! And Kenichi, who had someone gotten himself ontop of Rose's house. Naiya smiled as Rose thanked them for the time. Marx said they should have more parties. And Naiya agreed. "It was so much fun! Maybe we will have another soon! Whose birthday is closest?" She asked curiously. Joking but was actually curious. Isis and Zero offered to take Rose shopping, which was nice and they soon left. She waved bye and watched as Alexandra and Marx talked before wondering where to go next. "Hrmmm... Xena, should we start exploring into new regions? Or should we get the rest of the badges here first before trying to do contests and being a ranger?" She asked the Delphox. "It would probably be best to get the badges first. But it couldn't hurt to take a break from that and just roam." She said shrugging. Naiya looked to Kenichi who decided then to jump down. "I need to train some more. As do others of your team. We should explore if only to train some more first." Naiya sighed. Of course Kenichi wanted to explore and train instead of explore and have fun. Looking back at her two friends, she wondered if she should interrupt or not.

Rose was more than happy to accept Noe to her team! She'd have to rearrange her team again soon and try to include him. But for now, she had to go meet up with Isis and Zero in South Lumiose. Again, she was incredibly happy to hear that everyone seemed up for another party sometime, and were grateful for being invited this time. Unfortunately, she had to go catch up with Isis and Zero, and she was rather eager to fly. "Alright! I should get going~ Keep in touch, everyone?" Rose told her friends, hugging them each as she said good-bye. She had to jump hug Marx out of the height difference. After she doled the hugs out to Shenaiya, Alex and Marx, she stepped away to let out some pokemon. She let out Auriel and gave him his megastone that she had, trying to hold back squeals of joy as he only got more poofy in the transformation. "Hee~ Mega evolution is great! Ready to fly, Auriel?" Rose exclaimed. Blaze looked quite concerned about flying as Rose picked him up after having hugged all her friends. The red head didn't take notice of her flareon's lack of eagerness to fly, letting out her chifaera as well. "Follow us, alright, Chifaera? You could use the stretch." She told the pink, fluffy dragon. He gave a nod in understanding, stretching out his wings. "I'll ride with him. I don't want Auriel to feel over-encumbered." Fynx commented, then worked things out with Chifaera to climb up on his back. The delphox was pretty eager to try out this flying, too. It's not like she was a flying type and could do so herself. With that, Rose got onto Auriel's back, still holding on to Blaze securely. "Alright! Let's fly! Bye everyone!!" Rose said, then as Auriel lifted off the ground, she called down to her friends a final farewell. "To South Lumiose we go." Fynx said when Chifaera had caught up with Auriel.

Unfortunately, it seemed Shenaiya's question wasn't going to get determined at the moment. Marx wasn't sure who's birthday was closest, and with so many things going on, he easily got distracted, but as others had said, there were other reasons to celebrate, too. Plenty of them, in fact! They would have to all plan to get together again sometime in the future. He returned the hug Rose gave him and as everyone departed, moved his attention to Alex, wary of what she was gonna say. And, yup... lecture. His shoulders slumped and he slouched as she started scolding him, pouting childishly. He listened, but as she finished, he straightened up, giving a loud shrug with his arms held out to the side.
"But I wasn't!" he replied, frowning as he quirked an eyebrow, "I got lost! And... tripped! Into a fish tank..." He pushed his mouth the side, but then gave another shrug. "I wasn't trying to get back there or anything..." Who knew how he even did it? At least she seemed content to give him the lecture, and had something else to discuss. He blinked when she mentioned it, dropping his arms to his sides, and then raised his eyebrows when she mentioned a battle. Huh... really? Almost immediately, he looked nervous. "U-uhm..." Everyone was already dispersing and heading off in different directions, though Rose stayed long enough to give out departing hugs to everyone, Alexandra smiled as she returned the affection. She failed to reserve her awe when Auriel was released--a shiny mega evolution? The wheels were already turning in her head--nor her shock at the unfamiliar pokemon that she released. She'd have to give Rose a call soon to ask about its species, until then the young woman refocused her attention on Marx.
"You... tripped into a fish tank?" There was no use in repeating his statement, it certainly didn't help clarify... anything, really. But, she found herself doing it none the less. The confusion was quick to set in as, as were a million and five follow-up questions that Alexandra managed to keep from asking. She furrowed her brow, opened her mouth, found that she had nothing to say, and then quickly shut it. Marx always found a way to astound her. "...I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself," she finally muttered.
It took her a moment to regain the battle-ready mentality she had previously put herself in, but Alexandra found herself slowly piecing it back together once Marx agreed to a battle, albeit reluctantly. "I'll be using Obsidian, Siemens and Comet," she replied, retrieving the two pokeballs and allowing the other two out with Obsidian, in their place she returned her two trouble-makers, Caldo and Faye. "Obsidian is the Meeleeon I mentioned earlier, Siemens is a Joltik and Comet is a Staravia." Although they were now currently 'opponents' she still couldn't help but try and assist Marx, after all the purpose of this battle was to help him learn.

Giving another shrug, Marx was rather happy to see that that seemed to close the aquarium discussion. He didn't really want to get another lecture like that. And, what he'd said was the truth! Though admittedly... he might have said it even if it wasn't. When faced with 'getting in trouble', he did have a tendency to stretch the truth a bit, mostly out of panic. It was habit, practically reflexive. He used to be a lot worse when he was a kid, too. Heck, he was even a bit of a klepto back then, but that, too, had gotten better. Now he just had too much fun running around and going to everything to ever stop and take anything.
Marx quirked his head to the side when Alex listed the pokemon she'd be using. He had... absolutely no idea who those were. He grinned as she grabbed the pokeballs, though, and explained what they were. "What's a Meleeon, again?" he asked. He paused, thinking about his options for a moment. He was pretty sure joltiks were electric and staravias were flying.... "I'll, uh... I'll use Basil, Litwick, and, uh... Amaura, I guess," he decided. Those were kind of his only options. He'd never even battled with Chansey, and all his other pokemon would mean he'd have two pokemon weak to just one of hers. And that was... about as far as his train of thought went. He wasn't able to focus enough to start actually thinking it out. "But okay! Who do you wanna battle with, first?" he asked, stepping back and moving to put some distance between them. They didn't have a battle field, after all, but they could sort of pretend.

"Meleeon is the new Eeveelution I told you about," Alexandra explained, dropping down a few inches to run her fingers over Obsidian's ears. "I actually hope to discover more about his new form through this battle." She nodded when Marx revealed the three pokemon he'd be using, her eyelids falling over her eyes in contemplation. A grass and ghost/fire, she had an advantage over at least those typing's, though Amaura was one of the newer pokemon she'd yet to met yet. A quick check with her pokedex amended the situation, and although the information she found was rather basic, it was more than enough for her. A rock/ice type, and rather adorable at that...
"Hm?" Alexandra quirked an eyebrow when Marx asked for her suggestion on which pokemon to start off with. She understood if he wanted to know who she'd be using, but it sounded as if he also wanted to know who he should send out as well. He'd definitely need a lesson on pokemon types in the near future. "I'll be sending out Comet-- my Staravia," she announced and the avian-like pokemon gave a joyous cry before flying out onto their makeshift battlefield. "You could use your Amuara, as a rock and ice type it'll have an advantage over my flying type." She felt bad, potentially putting her pokemon against another that had an advantage over him, but she was confident in his abilities. He could do it.

Marx nodded, hand on his chin. Right, new eevee, yes... But what was it's typing again? Oh well! He'd find out one way or another. He grinned as she mentioned learning more about him, looking down to the pokemon and offering a wave, and then looking back to Alex. "Heh, alright! I can't wait to see what he does!" he commented. He'd definitely never even heard of it, let alone seen it! It looked really cool, too! Snatching up Amaura and Litwick's pokeballs, Marx waited for Alexandra's suggestion on who they should have battle first. He absently started juggling them while he waited, which... surprisingly he actually seemed to manage. It was always a hit or miss with him, when he tried to do coordinated activities like that....
He blinked when she mentioned she'd send out her flying type, but then suggested he send out his Amaura. "Huh? Really? You sure?" he asked, catching the balls. He looked down at the pokeballs thoughtfully, but then pressed his mouth into a thin line. Wait... which was which again? He glanced off, trying to remember, but then just released them both, urging Amaura forward and flashing Alex a grin. "Alright! If you're sure, then we're ready!" he announced. Amaura glanced back at him with an unamused expression, though. A very, 'What are you sending me into this time?', expression. Clearly, after the little 'adventure' in the Haunted House, he had even less trust in his trainer than before. And that was saying something, considering he'd tried to run away upon being given to Marx.
Sadly, Marx was easily distracted. He blinked when his holo caster went off and yanked it out, grinning when he noticed it was a message from Cheria. Never mind he was just starting a battle-- he typed out a message and sent it, shoving it away and turning his attention back to the' battlefield'.
