Gallen Duecalion I am a warrior, Seeking a peace I've never known It was agony waking up on the coast, but he had slept long enough. Sitting up, Gallen looked his person over and was happy to see himself mostly unharmed. The Hunters that had attacked his ship had perished in the explosion, but he, an ancient vampire on some accounts, had survived with only a large shard of metal in his diaphram. It hurt like hell to pull out, but Gallen had been through worse and the gaping wound quickly closed and the Vampire had full use of his breathing soon after that.
Standing for the first time in a long while, Gallen stretched and popped joints that had long been unused. Taking a look around, he surmised that he was somewhere on the western side of the Island and began plotting his course to the famed castle that was said to be a haven to his kind. Of course, it would taken him a little to make it there and he was weak and thirsty from his ordeal at sea.

Ashton reached the rocky shore of the island and turned to his two guards. They had followed him unquestionably, as they always did, but now he would indulge their inquiries. He made his way over to an outcrop of rocks that provided a very decent amount of shade and leaned against the jagged terrain. "Prepare your selfs, gentlemen, for a lovely little visitor." The vampire joked and chuckled to himself. His servants exchanged a look. "You both know very well how I got this horrid set of scars." Ashton motioned to his carved skin with a flash of anger. "However you may not know who gave me them. I know you've heard of them, in fact they have become rather infamous in the last few years. The cursed Hunter that marked me for eternity is known by the alias of the Cat." Ashton snapped a piece of drift wood he had picked up in half. The two other vampires looked bewildered. Hardly anyone survived the Cat's gruesome attacks. The fact that Ashton Labelle did made him seem all the more powerful. One spoke up, "So what does that mean?" Ashton raised an eyebrow, the vampire looked down in apology. "This means that she will show up any moment, prepared for a fight. And we, being gentlemen, will provide her with one." Ashton snickered. Oh yes, we will provide quite the fight.

Chaney had followed her target for as long as she could. At one point she had gotten separated. His being familiar with the island had, for a moment, gotten the better of the Hunter. Coming upon the coast the blonde saw her target move behind a larger portion of the rocks. She stayed further away, upwind, and dropped her satchel of items. She sorted through them and found what she needed, completing ignoring the man from the harbor who had managed to stay right on her tail much to her aggravation. Removing her cloak, the woman revealed her usual Hunting attire. The basic black attire of non-factioned hunters. It was less extravagant than what the Church had their Hunters wear, but was more efficient. The more form fitting material allowed for more natural and fluid movements. Taking the black scarf from her satchel she began wrapping it around her face in a precious way. The cloth concealed her hair and facial features, all except her emerald eyes, and covered the upper part of her shoulders. Concealing your identity was a basic tool for survival. If someone got away and they knew who you were, you were dead. Dressed for battle, Chaney picked up her stake. It was a nice weight and size. About the thickness of the woman's wrist and the length of her forearm, it was the idle weapon. She looked back towards the rocks that hid her target and took a deep breath. This was it. All her years of running and hiding had prepared her for this. She could kill this monster, and she would. Chaney let out her breath and moved towards the rocks and a quiet but efficient speed. She stopped just on the other side, she could hear that cursed monster talking. Gripping the stake she hurdled herself up onto the outcrop and over, ready to strike.

Jack continued to tail the Hunter, not speaking as they rushed off. He simply kept a few steps behind them (to their obvious annoyance) but he really didn't care about whether he was annoying someone. He had a job to do, even if it was watching a kid trying to hunt. Jack was very tempted to make a joke about stripping when she removed her cloak, although the sight of the black uniform quickly made any joke shrivel up and die. She was seriously going to go after the vampires. Even though they outnumbered her, and probably knew she was coming. He sighed and shook his head as she darted out to behind the rocks, she clearly wasn't thinking things through. They could really have any sort of trap set up behind the rocks... And she wa for sure outnumbered. At least it looked like she was handling her stake properly. As she vaulted onto and over the outcropping of rock, Jack simply tsked his tongue before winking out of sight, and reappearing on top of the rocks with a soft "pop". He wasn't going to step in unless someone's life was obviously in danger. And he had a feeling that it wasn't going to be the vampire... She was being sloppy, dashing in without thinking, in the heat of the moment. So he watched, and continued smoking, the vapor currently a lavish shade of plum. Although the wind was a tad too brisk for him to be forming smoke rings, that's exactly what came out of his mouth as he looked down on the scene.

>>Disclaimer: I was given leeway to somewhat godmod this fight with Chaney<< As if on cue, a black form dropped down from above the three vampires. With an arcing swing, the Cat plunged the silver dagger deep into the chest of one of his servants. The vampire hissed before mummifying and dropping onto the rock. The Hunter turned to Ashton, her familiar green eyes flashing with adrenaline. "Well, well, well. If it isn't my favorite little Hunter." The vampire grinned menacingly as he watched his attacker progress towards him, stake raised to strike again. As she leaped, Ashton grabbed his other guard and used him as a shield. He heard the stake delve into the vampire's chest and tossed the corpse aside. "Tsk tsk. You're being impolite." He cooed. Ashton trapped the woman by the neck and slammed her almost weightless body against the rock. One could say it was a little too aggressive, but Ashton had a lot of pent up anger. He remembered exactly what happened when this human Hunter scarred his face. She had seemed to signal him out among the many vampires spread about among the battlefield. There were defiantly more experienced hunters around, but for some reason she had decided to take him on. Ashton was amused, making light of the situation. Until she pulled out a stake dipped in holy water. She had managed to get past his defensive strikes and struck at his face. The holy water burned with the most intense pain Ashton had ever felt. Now he was going to make this human feel all the pain he did, plus more. He moved over to her and looked down, a pleasant smile gracing his features. Eyes flashing, he picked up the body again and slammed it against the rocks again three more times. Holding the human, now battered and bloody, up against the rocks he dipped a finger in a small trickle of blood and licked it. With the taste of her blood he chuckled darkly. Now he could use the power he was known for. Cocking his head to the side, Ashton did what could be described as flipping a mental light switch.

When she appeared on the other side of the rock, she started attacking. She caught one of the vampires by surprise, but before he could even exclaim in exasperation, the silver stake was embedded in his heart. One down, two more to go. Wrenching the stake from the corpse, Chaney prowled towards her main target. She raised her arm, poised to strike, and brought it down with immense force. It plunged through skin and through bone until it lodged in a heart. But it wasn't the right heart. Growling as she realized the brute had survived, Chaney prepared to strike again. But the vampire was quicker. He grabbed her wrist and hurdled her through the air until her body connected with the jagged boulders that dotted the coast. Her head snapped forward after colliding with the rocks, and her ears rang loudly. Dazed, she looked up at the vampire whose face was stretched in delight. He picked her up like she was nothing and slammed her against the rocks again and again and again. Chaney you freaking idiot. The blonde thought, her body broken. She spit out a mouthful of blood, and groaned. She could tell she had broken bones, probably countless lacerations. When the vampire tasted her blood, she felt sick to her stomach. His eyes lighting up with excitement, sent shivers down her spine. He cocked his head just slightly to the side and Chaney screamed in pain. This was worse than her current physical pain. It was as if someone had taken a red-hot pipe and jammed it in her skull, over and over. In the back of her burning mind, the blonde was aware that the vampire was laughing, enjoying watch her writhe in pain. Just kill me now. The Hunter cursed herself over and over for her stupidity.

Jack cussed the moment he had a clear view of the fight, he had forgotten how quickly things could go to hell. Two vampires were now dead, and the third one was currently doing something utterly agonizing to the girl. And he was laughing. Laughing, as she screamed. He had been prepared to kill her, but clearly this wasn't as cut-and-dry a case as he had thought. No one laughed at someone's pain unless they had issues... And when it was a vampire, that was normally a huge flag that they were dangerous. Jack dropped his smoke onto the rock he was standing on and ground it out with his heel. He could have caused it to disappear, but now he needed to focus his magic into something more than mere parlor tricks. With a sharp "Crack!" He appeared next to the vampire, his gloved hand gripping the vampire's arm with a strength that was almost outside human limits. But this wasn't what was concerning, next to a vampire, his physical strength was laughable. It was the heat currently radiating off him. The air around him rippled with the heat he was giving off, and the smell of burning things would without a doubt slam into the vampire's senses. Any vampire over the age of two hundred would recognize him, not because he had hunted them, but because how utterly ruthless he had hunted witches, his kin, while he had with the church. He wasn't a big fan of prayers, nor of swords, guns, or other physical weapons. He had brought down God's vengeance with fire hot enough to melt sand into glass. Dozens of witches reduced to ash while he had smoked his cigarettes. If vampires had talked about him, it was about how grateful that he had only focused on mages, and had never seemed to bother with their kind, and then after his spectacular retirement, how lucky they were he hadn't stayed in business. And now he was here, and he looked dangerous. "That's enough. Two have died already. Let her go." He was going to have to get her out of here immediately, he could easily find the vampire again with the help of the rest of the island, but he could not revive someone from the dead. He had tried already, and look where it had gotten him... Now, the vampire had two choices. Comply, and be left alone with only a faint burn-mark on his sleeve, or not and go toe-to-toe with a first-class pyromancer and former hunter. Jack had never been one for sadists, and if there wasn't anyone left to be collateral damage (which looked like it was going to be very soon) he would without a doubt take the familiar cold satisfaction of seeing another threat killed.

Ashton simply couldn't help it. Seeing the girl twist and squirm in pain made him feel ecstatic. Pile on her tortured screams and jagged breaths and he just couldn't control his laughter. This was priceless! Now she was beginning to get exactly what she deserved. Jolting at the sudden burst of sound next to him, Ashton frowned but refused to look. If he glanced over, then the majority of his ability would ebb away. However, the vampire couldn't ignore the sudden sensation of heat and the smell that slammed into his nose and set his teeth on edge. Growling, he looked over to see who could possibly have decided to ruin his fun. He swallowed dryly. "Well, well. If it isn't the famous witch hunter himself. I see you still have those powers that rocketed your career. What an honor. Ashton said humorlessly. Fire was Ashton's greatest fear, and this human could control a large amount of it with the slightest whim. Not exactly someone who Ashton wanted to mess with. However, Jack the Hunter's demand to set the Cat free was going to be difficult. The vampire looked at the veiled face before him with furrowed brows before returning his gaze back to the Mage. "You see, I would love to, but this little girlie and I have quite a lot of dirt between each other." Ashton trailed off, seeing the expression on the heat wielding human's face. Obviously he wasn't going to get any farther... for now anyway. Complying with the mage's wish, he dropped the unconscious body. He hid a satisfied smile as she hit the jagged rock, her body oblivious to the new gashes. Ashton glared at the human and ripped his arm away. I'll get my revenge on her, you just wait. Stand in my way again, boy, and the outcome will be very different. Ashton held up his hands in mock surrender, edging his way backwards. But, before he turned to leave, the vampire had one last idea. Using his incredible speed, Ashton reached down and wrenched off the fabric concealing the Cat's face. He smiled in delight before racing off. He had seen her face. He had memorized it in the split second it had been revealed. Blonde hair framing emerald eyes set on high cheek bones, curved lips complementing a delicate nose. She had looked exactly like her mother. With an evil chuckle the vampire disappeared into the mist. [Exit]

Neicha saw a mist covered island in the distance. It would be nice to stretch out his roots on solid land. Growing a large vine from his arm he pulled himself to the island. Greetings creature I am Nechia sent here by the great Druid council to learn what changes have happened to the world. I mean no harm to you or your kind. Stroking his beard he looked around and saw two dead on the ground and was taken aback with remorse. As he looked back to the two living creatures one being unconscious the perplex manner with which the conscious looked at him reminded him they probably had never heard of a druid. Oh yes I forgot that new races have emerged since we took root. Well a druid is simply one with nature we existed before your kind emerged. The dragons may still have some record of us somewhere although there aren't many of us left.

Jack grit his teeth as the vampire mentioned his past career, his tone was putting him even further on edge, that was not the voice of someone who was defending themselves. Rather, it just proved the point that whatever was going on was more convoluted than he knew before. "I'm retired." He simply stated. And indeed he was, it just that his retirement was a tad more active than others. The glare Jack shot at the vampire when it looked like he wasn't going to comply clearly said everything else that needed to be said. Although the vamp couldn't seem to help but get in one final word. To the threat, Jack simply graced it with a very eloquent "******** off." He had no patience for sadists. He had no problem with people who have had to kill or harm in their past (mostly because he was on as well) but someone who relished it was not on his "people to friend" list. Then the vampire was gone, but not before he had ripped the covering off the girl's face. Jack lashed out with a thin plume of white-hot fire at the vampire's (finally) retreating back, singing his coat slightly. Yeah, Jack was rusty. Two centuries ago the vampire would be a pile of ash, but so would the girl... The immediate threat gone, Jack now how to get her out of her in case the vampire decided to come back (again) and finish up. Jack knelt down and hefted her into his arms, she was not a light one. All of her training had proven to make her quite muscular. And heavy. He was about to try and teleport them back to the castle, so he could get some medical care for her when the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. Someone was here. A quick glance, (assisted by the fact that the... Druid was now talking) told him that this was indeed the case. Of all the bloody times.... He did not need this now. He did not need this while he had a dying girl in his arms. Jack clicked his tongue. "Just wait there." he snapped harshly. With a sharp *CRACK* he disappeared along with the girl in his arms. However, in a moment he reappeared, having deposited her with a good friend, and former army medic. Rose would take care of her while he took care of this. Jack was quite irritated, two vampires had died on his watch, and now it looked like some sort of vendetta was going to bring even more violence. Needless to say, his manner were in short supply now. Jack stooped down to pick up her fallen stake, weighing it in his palm. Yeah, he still hated these. Knives were more his style if he was going to go melee on someone. Jack looked over the "Druid" (because he sure as hell didn't look like the one who tended the garden up at the castle, nor did he look like a Celtic priest) Finding no reason to distrust them (other than they had literally shown up out of nowhere) Jack decided to pull out some manners again. "Sorry, I'm in the middle of some serious bussiness, as you can see" gesturing at the dead bodies currently laying on the ground. Jack sighed "I'm Armstrong, Chairman Armstrong. And I think I ought to take you up to the castle too buddy. If we can find the Lady, I'll let you talk to her." Jack held out his arm, meaning for the druid to take it. "Don't worry, I don't mean any harm either... I'm just a bit flustered." All the Druid had to do was take his arm and Jack would take them up to the castle. bieniethebeast Please PM me before joining in next time. Silenced Nocturne Sorry again about that but if you need me to leave just say so. My my it seems that you have recovered some of the magical arts of the First Era. You youngsters have done quite well with yourselves. Well if i can be of any assistance just let me know. I maybe able to help the unconscious one by growing a few herbs. He took the mans arm and awaited for him to teleport him to the destination.

Jack frowned at the man. "First era"? How long ago was that? A millenia? He had no idea what the druid was talking about. He shook his head "Thank you, but she'll be fine. I've got a friend who'll take care of her until we can track down a healer. Normally Desha is so easy to find... But we couldn't find him at all." Jack sighed before focusing his energy again, teleporting so often in such a short period of time was without a doubt going to give him a killer headache later, but that was something he could deal with then. For now though, he had to make sure that this guy got to the castle. With a sharp crack, both of them disappeared. [Exit to Castle Front Room]

The druid brushed of some soot from his arm and grew a plant in its place. Thank you Jack. This should compensate you for your troubles the herb should reduce the side effects of using magic so constantly. Let me know if your friend is doing any better should our paths cross again. And with that he began his quest for knowledge and he also wanted to figure out who the scar-face man was he saw from a distance. [Exit to Castle Front Room]

Cassius somehow managed to get himself further up onto the beach, oddly grateful for the smooth tiny pebbles that made up this section of coastline since they felt good against his scales. He panted a bit as he switched from breathing water to breathing air then pulled himself further out of the water and dropped next to a boulder, laying on his side for a few more moments. He knew he didn't look anything like his usual glorious self and hated it, but hoped that no one would see him like this. His usually iridescent scales were paled out and dull from spending too much time underwater, his skin flaking in patches as well. Even his hair, one of his vanities, was a bit on the dull side from his usual gleaming white locks. But he'd gotten his business taken care of. It was finally done. He had gained more than freedom now. He was owed a huge favor as well, which was a plus as far as he was concerned. But what had hurt was the fact that he'd felt nothing from his beloved Alichino while he'd been gone. Absolutely nothing. Which meant that he'd been abandoned. It was intolerable to his pride and devastating to his heart. But he was determined to show it to no one, even though it would most certainly show in his lavender eyes...

It wasn't but moments later that Cassius managed to get comfortable that a strong wind began to beat down on the beach heavily as a shadow circled around before suddenly a figure grew closer and closer before swooping down and landing onto of a boulder. The light of the moon twinkling on the golden jewelry adorning his muscular fit body, kissing the darker caramel sun-kissed skin as he tilted his head back, Deep black hair cascaded down his shoulders at different lengths ending at his lower back. He had beautiful pure white as snow dragon's wings though they were half the size of his father's who was a full grown dragon the dragon had a 60ft wing span. Dakoda's was only about 20ft. He breathed out slowly as a long thick white tail with black stripes along the black spike like pointed on his tail smacked against the boulder brushing against the ground from it's length. A hand came up and ran along one curved horn as he turned, he wore nothing but the bottom skirt like half of an Egyptian outfit and the jewelry he adorned looked pretty expensive. Turning on the boulder that was only a couple feet away from Cassius, his deep amethyst purple eyes glowed a slight pink in the moonlight as he stared at the merman looking him over slowly. He folded his wings against his back smoothing a hand down those well-defined muscles on his abdomen as he smirked almost in a snarky way that seemed quite sexy on his face. "My my. Looks like someone had a bad day" His voice was deep and smooth like black silk as he moved towards Cassius moving across the rocks with ease as if he was use to going across such terrain before he got to the boulder right in front of Cassius and squatted slightly crouching. His tail swishing about against the pebbly beach. His attitude was of someone who seemed like royalty even though he wasn't raised in it, he had a higher then thou, stronger then thou appearance as he stood up after a moment chuckling slightly as if he was poking fun at the poor merman. "Do you need some assistance or should I leave you here on the sands?" He had a hand held out to him though it was just out of reach but it was there if Cassius wanted it. Dakoda seemed like someone who was powerful but it didn't mean he was a total a*****e..though he could be one at times. He was surprised to see a merman with such lack luster appearance.
