He is secretive, a Soq of very few words, rather expressive in his body and movements, but not so much in words. He always has this air of secrecy around him as if he knows something that you don't but you aren't about to find out what it is, as just a single glance at his face would reveal that his information is staying exactly where it is, unless he should find you worthy of it. Not that he thinks he's better than anyone else, in fact he is very modest! But he does not think that his secrets should be any one else's burden to carry.
He is in fact quite a small specimen, slender and quite light even for a cerynei. And though many could see him as cold and uncaring (because he usually will try to keep from becoming friends, or two close to just anyone), should someone break his barrier and become close with him, he may begin to show that his insides are as warm and fuzzy as that feeling of eating a sweet berry on the warmest summer day, but no one should expect to be able to do this without months of work at it.
He has taken upon himself the task of being a Secret-Keeper. A heavy task, he knows, but should anyone be seeking someone to share their secret with, he will help carry their burden. From who's fathered a certain foal, to who plotted out the latest herd coup, he knows some of the darkest secrets in the Kawani lands.

Having grown up in a forest of birch trees, and bearing a coat that depicts them, got Betula named quite aptly after these beautiful white trees. The forest is where he is most at home, especially in groves of birch trees, it is also where his camouflage is obviously at it's most useful. But though the forest is where he is comfortable, and where he has spent most of his life, this little cerynei yearns to travel. To see the greatest winding rivers and feel the heat of the desert for himself. Yet, every time he sets hoof in a new direction, he always seems to find himself somewhere familiar again by nightfall. It seems to be a task that he cannot quite attempt... not alone.
Yet friends have not been something that come to Betula easily. In fact, most find themselves unable to trust him. He has found himself one friend, and one alone so far in his wanderings. An angeni named Lian, who understands the want for silence, and how much can be said in a conversation of no words. He hopes to see her again, and he knows that she might be someone he could talk to if he needs to, but to what level of trust he cannot yet decide.

For several days, Betula felt as if he was being watched, and only after several more could he be certain that he was indeed being followed and hadn't just imagined it. When he finally called out to his stalker and allowed the inevitable encounter to ensue, he was pleasantly surprised by the most beautiful face he had ever seen. Her name was Kagali Lillian, a name meaning 'bone moon', and a name handed down from mother to daughter for generations.
The pair share the same desires, the yearning for travel and the desire to not be alone, yet they both respect and understand the value of silence. They took a leap of faith and decided that they should set off together, be each other's lean and finally be on their way along the path of exploration, at last.
