In the hours leading up to sunrise Grayson spent his time doing everything and very little at the same time, planning out the next few days up to a week while also checking in with his pokemon every odd hour. Aita had eventually fallen back asleep, Viduus joining, and Morta had actually left the room a few times, and although Grayson didn't know exactly where she went he suspected she went to the cafeteria, given how she returned each time with some food or other. After her last trip the trainer confiscated two bags of chips, BBQ flavored, for himself. Drifloon, who he eventually named Macaria or 'Aria' for short, spent her time getting familiar with her new trainer and teammates, only trying to give Aita a ride. Styx kept herself entertained by reading a romance novel that she'd somehow manage to smuggle into Grayson's bag--he'd have to remember to burn that--and occasionally checking in with both Grayson and the others. Tartarus and Charon were the only ones who didn't make an appearance, the Spiriarke too large for the two bed room and Charon still on punishment for the stunt he'd pulled back in Eterna.
Around 8:30 Grayson forced himself out of the bed and returned all but Aita and Styx before he got dressed and brushed his teeth and hair. Even if had originally turned down Emmet's suggestion of meeting up at eight, he could at least get up and grab breakfast before he met back up with the man. Propping Aita onto his shoulder Grayson packed away his clothes, grabbed his electronics, and then his bag before he went into the cafeteria. With an hour and fifteen minutes to kill he took his time with his breakfast, chewing his food slowly and making sure the rest of his pokemon ate before he finally stood to his feet to leave.
Trudging his way into the lobby Grayson returned his room key to Nurse Joy, though stopped when he noticed a familiar face sitting in one of the nearby chairs, reading over a newspaper. "I thought you said we'd meet up at ten," he spoke as he approached Emmet, the man looking up from his paper. "It's only..." Grayson stopped to look at the clock hanging on the wall, "9:45." Emmet folded his newspaper before standing to his feet and grabbing a bag of his own from off the chair next to him. "I make it a point to arrive fifteen minutes early," he answered, clipped footsteps leading him out of the Pokémon Center and forcing Grayson to fall in line, Styx by his side. Since the boy was already here there was no use in sticking around the center. "Where are we off to now?" he questioned, turning his gaze back to the other male once they were outside.
"Cerulean City, I need to challenge the gym leader there," Grayson answered before he took the lead, herding them to Mt. Moon, the cave the only thing between the two cities. "Very well then." Without any arguments to that plan Emmet followed after quietly, adjusting his glasses before he extended his stride out to allow him to walk side-by-side with Grayson.

While she waited for Spike and Rye to be returned to her fully healed, Rose got some text messages to reply to. First, she decided to reply to Marx's text. She really wanted to fly off to find this Alola region, and bring her friends along, but as far as she knew, everyone was busy getting badges or doing their own thing at the moment. She finished her response to Marx, moving on to Ajicka. Wow, even Ajicka had been busy! She was already ready to challenge the Elite Four of Kanto? Rose felt left in the dust - she hadn't come close to getting 8 badges in one region yet. She replied, and with that done, she noticed that her pokemon were being returned to her, fully healed.
Rose tucked Rye's ball back at her belt and moved to pick up Spike. Holding the gator in her arms, she looked around the center, wondering if she should rest before continuing on to the next city, or if maybe she would see MD again.

Azalea stared at Eli as he started his sentence with a slight stammer. Was he nervous? That was kind of funny, some punk like him scared of her mere presence. Who would have thought? "Azalea." She offered her name in exchange for his. "This loaf over here is Rafflesia," Azalea gestured to the bulbasaur who seemed to be starting to doze off on the floor. She figured she should introduce her other pokemon as well. "The other two are Nightshade and Hemlock." She nodded over her shoulder to the houndoom and toxicroak looming just behind her on either side. She wasn't sure why she was in such an amicable mood. She honestly blamed Gray for getting her introduced to Emmet, who maybe had been interesting enough to get her on the lookout for other interesting people to come into contact with. Her eyes narrowed with amusement as Eli asked how she was. Seemed like a rather desperate and nervous attempt at small talk, but fine, Azalea would bite. "Tired mostly, but I still need to beat Brock, so I can't sleep just yet. What about you newbie?" She tilted her head slightly, giving him a small, unnerving smile.
As they conversed however, Azalea had taken notice of the woman that sat down at a table next to them with her paras. At first she seemed to have been adorning the mushroom pokemon with a deadly nightshade flower. Normally Azalea wouldn't care, because while she'd certainly thought about getting a paras or parasect to study the mushrooms and spores that grew from it, she didn't have an interest to ask this woman about hers. However, when she pulled out a rainbow colored shard and caused some kind of chemical reaction with the flower and the paras, that was when Azalea's interest officially kicked in. The woman herself seemed quite surprised by what she had done, but not because she didn't know what she'd been doing, her expression read more as someone who was pleasantly surprised that the little experiment had succeeded, and now the paras was a soothing black and blue color. "Yo. Lady with the light show. What was that crystal you used?" She asked with scrutiny. "Never seen a nightshade flower do that to a pokemon." Azalea mused. She certainly wouldn't mind performing some tests on her pokemon to get them to be those interesting colors....
►All concerns aside the confirmation of the Professors work brought up some interesting possibilities. Not the last of which was the astounding profit to be made selling rare colored Pokemon to the highest bidders. If she could learn more about the functionality behind the change anyway. So little of the unnamed professor's physical research remained that it was unclear if the process could be consecutively recreated successfully. If the possibility of triggering an alteration was based on luck rather then probability it would derail the idea then and there. The more Fremy thought about the experiment itself though the less concerning it all become with regards to recreating the results. The "Client" had performed the change in front of her and even explain the basic concept behind the idea. Why would he do that if this was some sort of a secret? It made no sense in that situation. This realization more than anything helped ease her concerns.
Fremy was about to reach out and pick the Pars up to better inspect its new coloration but was taken abark by the sudden interruption of a girls voice. Paras had been pruning itself as if to remove the black coloration only to realize it wasn't something sat on its skin but rather the skin itself. Turning Fremy caught site of the person who'd called her out. Fremy didn't like making assumptions of people off just a first impression but it was hard not to when faced with this. The girl wore a gas mask. It looked to be a modern rendition of perhaps an old war model, more in its function than design. Her clothes were baggy and her facial expression seemed as apathetic as her voice had been. "Excuse me?" Fremy asked cautiously having not fully realized what had been asked.
"Ohh~ Umm" When the information had processed fully in her mind Fremy considered simply ignoring her. Had she not been as cute as she was Fremy might have done just that. But it wasn't every day a cute chick spoke to her, especially one who looks around her own age. Best take advantage if the siutation if she could. "I was recreating an experiment with a Crystal shard." Fremy explained attempting to seem as nonchalant about the whole thing as possible without seeming uninteresting in the conversation.was she trying to hard? "I wasn't sure it would even wor ~ ... Wait how did you know that was ?" Fremy was more than a little surprised when the thought registered. The Nightshade surely hadn't been out in the open long enough for any rank amateur to recognize it. It was more of curiosity than a true desire to know.

Rose sighed, not seeing any sign of MD around. "Maybe we should get going, Rose. Unless you want to do something around town till it gets dark and just spend the night here at the pokecenter?" Fynx spoke up. Sparx was still getting used to being a psychic and around Rose - he didn't know any routines she had or if her interests were still the same. He didn't even know anything about the city they were in. So the alolan raichu remained quiet, still hovering on his tail. Rose considered what her starter suggested. "I think maybe we should see what else there is around here before moving on." she said, making her way out of the pokemon center.
As soon as they were out, Spike wriggled his way out of Rose's arms, opting to walk on his own. While they walked, Rose got a bunch of messages. She was quick to check them, reading all three of them before responding. She responded to Marx first, concerned to hear that he was in a sandstorm, but happy to hear he thought it was a good idea to go to alola with friends. She'd have to get in contact with quite a few people. Next, she replied to Ajicka. She had a feeling that Ajicka thought that she shouldn't be in kanto region right now, but didn't bother to ask why. And finally, she responded to the text from an unknown number. She had no clue who it was, but she thought maybe it was one of her cousins? They didn't seem hostile so she didn't mind responding to them one bit, even if it was a bit random.

Eli wasn't too sure about this new acquaintance, and he eyed her Pokemon nervously. He had to admit, he was jealous of how strong they looked. "Wow..you're pretty cool, I guess?" he stammered. Azalea continued to remain stone faced, watching Eli as he eyed her pokemon, seeming to smartly measure their difference in power. "The coolest." She agreed, her tone indicating that she was completely serious, though anyone who knew her like Gray would be able to tell that she was joking. She didn't really try to hold herself to a high standard compared to everyone else. Attention and recognition didn't suit her style, since it meant more work, but if she needed to use it as an intimidation tactic, she would. Her presence alone seemed to set Eli on edge though, so intimidation wasn't really needed here. "Ah, a ghost fan?" Azalea couldn't help but notice the glint in his eyes. "Can't blame you there. Ghosts are pretty chill, I prefer my poison types though." She suggested with a shrug. Grayson might like this kid though if ghosts were his thing. Maybe she could introduce the two since Gray had introduced her to Emmet. Azalea nodded at Eli repeated her name correctly, tilting her head as he asked if she wanted something from him. "Maybe....." She mused. "Nothing really comes to mind though, so I guess I'm just being nice for now. Y'know. Keeping my options open." She suggested with a lazy smirk. She honestly wasn't sure herself, but she wasn't going to tell Eli that. Normally she wasn't even this friendly to others, but something about meeting Emmet seemed to have made her feel.... Friendlier? At least more willing to socialize. Weird, but she would roll with it.
She was distracted however by the apparent science experiment going on one table over, and she had to ask about it. "Crystal shard? What's that?" She asked. That must have been the crystal she'd seen the woman use earlier. She then started to explain how she wasn't sure it would work, but then seemed distracted by Azalea's flower knowledge. Azalea quirked a brow. "Does it really matter?" She asked indifferently. She knew the flower, so what? "I'm a botanist." She explained with a shrug, glancing away. "So you said re-creating.... Someone did this before? Who?" She asked, wondering if they were a researcher she knew, or had studied. She knew a lot of flora researchers, but she had never heard or read anything about an experiment like this. She would certainly liked to study and try it for herself.

► Fremy gave a quick glance to the strange women's even stranger male companion. He was dressed in bright almost neon colors with two color dyed hair. He had a lazy expression Fremy though and he held himself rather relaxed she noted. They seemed a perfect pair. Her boyfriend or maybe just a like minded friend perhaps? Fremy wasn't sure having missed out on any key indicators passed between them. The girl was splitting her attention between two conversations with a focus on him apparently. Odd, she thought but tried not to draw too much attention away from him. Instead, she acknowledges him with a slight head nod.
Fremy didn't want to invite trouble and men always seem to be trouble so to her it was a good idea to distance herself. Her past experiences had left a negative taste in her mouth with regards to the opposite sex. She reminded herself to be polite and not draw attention to her disdain of men. Besides, not every man was the same and she knew it wasn't fair to lump them all into the same basket, but damn was it easier.
None the less Fremy tried not to dwell on the details of the girl's companion. "Its~" She began but stopped having to give some serious thought to exactly what a Crystal shard fundamentally was. "It's a crystal that can alter a Pokemon's physical appearance." She concluded bluntly having no real idea of the details of how or what a crystal shard was beside's expansive. "A botanist?" Fremy mumbled softly. The word triggered mental images of gardeners tending to plants in a greenhouse but knew it went beyond that. She blushed slightly realizing this girl had a similar interest, at least in regards to plant life.
Fremy pushed aside her imagination to try and remember the professor's name. To little effect. "I don't recall her name." She said calmly looking at her Paras a little embarrassed she could have forgotten such an important detail. It had been plastered all over that wretched research. "But yes, with my Bulbasaur if not before that too." She continued Reaching for the second grass types poke'ball and releasing it on the table beside the Paras. The Kanto grass starter shivered and shook as if to shack water off its skin before blinking in confusion having become the new center point of attention for reason unknown to it. "A man used my Gracidea Flower." She indicated the too pink and blue sat in her hair.

Eli felt almost overwhelmed. Two people acknowledging him at once was a rarity unless it was from his parents. He admired the attention, though. It was a welcoming feeling to him, to be able to hold a conversation without frightening one off. Eli pulled down his scarf which muffled his voice, finally getting the chance to speak up. Most people he'd met were surprised at the scars on the lower half on his face, which he kept covered, but strangely he didn't seem to be self-conscious of them. "ah yes. I'm from Lavender town, ghosts have always been a part of my life. And while I like poison types too, I don't think anything is as cool as a floating little spirit. Some of them are really cute." His demeanor was completely opposite of his appearance at this point, and even his Bulbasaur was ignoring it. Bacchus rolled over in Eli's lap, groaning.
Soon Eli turned to look at the other woman who Azelea had addressed. She was completely different and seemed to be more distant, but Eli still wanted to be friendly. "Hiya!" He took to staring at her, before he froze in place. He hadn't noticed it before until the unfamiliar woman released another Pokemon next to it -- the bug. Though the Bulbasaur next to it may have swayed him away from freaking out, it didn't quite work. Eli began to break out in a sweat, just staring at the Paras, with his friendly smile now turned into a nervous scowl.

She had to play it cautious and careful to get him any kind of messages. It was mostly radio silence the entire rest of the time.
Faraday leaned himself up against a nearby tree, quickly tapping through the communicator as he read the message. Something about someone looking for him -he figured that much but still there wasn’t much more information on this invisible assailant-, how his current whereabouts were still unknown in the agency and then some further advice on what he could do to keep that distance up as well as some clues to where to look in regards to proving the innocence of his situation. So much to do, so little time. He needed mobility primarily and apparently, Addison had a way to get that to him. It meant getting through a few of these gym areas though which was a pain but… something he could possibly manage. His team was on the strong side… the first few gyms in this region wouldn’t be hard. Right… he could do it.

Azalea glanced to Eli as he pulled his scarf down, noting the scars on his face as he explained his love of ghosts. Cute, he called them... Heh. Azalea supposed she did see his point, she certainly found ghosts cute, but for different reasons most would think. The grosser and more gruesome, the better as far as Azalea was concerned. She found grotesques 'cute', any disgusting and toxic pokemon was her definition of 'cool'. "Yeah, I have a gastly with me that's pretty useful." She agreed, letting Lavender out to demonstrate, since it seemed Eli would appreciate her. Lavender blinked and shook herself off, some of the toxic gasses dispersing and evaporating into the air as she did before she took in her surroundings. "By the way, what's with your face?" She asked bluntly, gesturing her own lower jaw to indicate the area she was referring to. It might have seemed rude in normal circumstances, but it was interesting to her, and she wasn't one to let other's opinions get in the way of her curiosity, plus Eli clearly wasn't bothered by it for him to openly lower his scarf.
Azalea noted Fremy's description of crystal shards. She would have to keep a look out and see how they effected her pokemon in the future. Though when Fremy asked about her knowledge on the flower she used, Azalea gave a brief lazy answer. Botanist was the best explanation. Going around saying she was a toxicologist was far more hair raising, and while she didn't really care what other people thought of her if she admitted to it, she knew Void did, so she did her best to avoid raising suspicions about who she worked for and all that jazz. "Yeah." She affirmed as Fremy repeated her words. Damn, why did people have to do that? First Emmet, now Fremy too. It was clear Azalea was practically oblivious to the way Fremy was flirting and blushing around her, or if she did notice, she didn't care to comment or react. It was too bad Fremy didn't remember the name of the professor who conducted the research, but it wasn't a total loss, she could probably have some research scrub dig up the information for her back at Void.
Azalea's attention drew to the colorful bulbasaur Fremy released onto the table. The colors were certainly pretty she supposed, but she didn't really care about aesthetics so much as the fact that the pokemon could be colored through plants, and if perhaps toxicity of flowers could be transferred as well. It would be far more interesting to her if she could make a pokemon poisonous when it normally wasn't. She glanced up to the gracedia in Fremy's hair, giving a light nod. She knew the flower by sight and name, but it didn't quite interest her given that it was common and not poisonous. "Whatever, it's fine." Azalea shrugged, though she noticed that suddenly Eli looked rather uncomfortable in spite of how happily he had greeted Fremy. That made Azalea quirk a brow in curiosity. He clearly didn't have anything against bulbasaur, so she doubted the third's sudden appearance disturbed him unless he somehow found the colors offensive. "What's up? You look pale." Azalea asked, her tone more amused than concerned.
► Fremy gave a weak smile to the boy as he greeted her. No point in being hostile for no reason right? He'd not done or even said anything to her yet besides "Hiya". It took a moment but Fremy was just about to properly greet him when he pulled down his scarf to reveal the scars that marked his lower jaw. She had to stop herself from cringing imagining something clawing at his face or worse, trying to pry his jaws apart with ragged clawed hands. She stared for a moment more when it struck home what she was doing. Quickly looked back to her Paras to appear uninteresting but Paras was also staring. Fremy flicked the tiny bug hard on the side catching its attention and making it quick angry.
The bug turned, claws raised as it hissed defensively at her. Fremy ignored the tiny threat in favor of the Ghastly being introduced but at the same time the unnamed girl very blatantly asked about the boy's scars. Fremy almost fell out of her seat in shock. Fremy had always thought of herself as blunt but damn. Recovering she at least was thankful it would pull away any negative attention with her own reaction to his face. It also gave Fremy a chance to study the Gastly. She'd heard of but never seen one in person so this was a rare treat she thought.
Hopefully, no one would notice or care as she reached up and stuck a finger clear through the vaporish creature. It tingled and stung slightly. It was also bone chilling cold. The gassy vapor around its "body" moved about almost like oil on top of water and reacted to her movements almost like it was tangle yet wanted to ignore the physical interaction. Sometimes the vapor would move in reaction to her finger others times it wouldn't. Fremy made a mental note of this as he curiosity grew. Fremy hadn't noticed she moved in her seat during her little science experiment. She was practically atop of the table when the girl's voice brought her back to her senses. "He was already pale though?" Fremy remarked absentmindedly as she sat back down pulling out a notebook and jotting down a quick note on ghost types intangibility. "Oh, umm ~ Excuse me." She quickly said directing the comment to the boy apologetically. "I didn't mean that as an insult."

He played it off, smiling at Azalea's pokemon's demonstration. Eli was about to say something else, but decided to keep his mouth shut until he was spoken to again. He looked up at Azalea, shaking off the fright in his bones and finding relief that she'd asked a question. "My face?" he'd nearly forgotten about those scares there. They've been for so long. "Ah, yeah, those. My dad has a not so friendly Banette who loves to grab onto things. There's ton of those scars on me but I don't make a big deal of 'em. I was a little kid when that happened." Eli smiled at the two ladies, watching their interaction with vigor. The mysterious one that Azalea was having a conversation with was quite odd to him; of course, what kind of sane person would own a bug, of all things. "Heya, no offense taken. MD swiped his hands together as he approached Uriah and Jubilee, the pair turning to look at him with their own form of expectant looks ready to know the next course of action.
"Alright you two, we’re off to the gym and the next town." He informed the pair. Uriah gave a nod, though Jubilee frowned, folding her arms over her chest.
"But what about Rose? Aren’t you going to say goodbye at least?" MD frowned, seeming to consider that for a moment. It would be rude to rush off, wouldn’t it? But he didn’t really want to go dragging that young woman into his issues right now. She seemed like she had her own business to tend to as well.
"I’m sure we’ll see her again along the way. Don’t worry about it. Besides we need to get moving." He finally responded, moving his way down the road and heading off in the direction that the gym was. Jubilee was still frowning but sighed all the same; there was no point arguing, MD was going to decide based on the situation and now… it wasn’t the best so. Uriah remained silent, just giving her a gentle pat on the shoulder before moving and following their trainer.
It wasn’t long before they found their way to the gym building and entered, MD taking a moment to alter his team composition before heading for the gym battle field. He glanced around at all the rocks and such stepping into the challenger’s box.
"Helllooo?" He called out, gaze shifting as a young man appeared wiping his hands free of dust in the process. ”Ah, a challenger I see.!” Brock called out, MD returning with a nod. ”Well good! I hope it’ll be a rock solid match.” MD just gave an awkward smile and nodded, retrieving his first pokemon. He forgot about these leaders and their pun business.
