Here's a new riddle: A man is driving a car. He has both license plates mounted, they match his car, his registration and driver's license are up to date. Driving on the high way, he passes two cars, but is going the speed limit. He is then pulled over and ticketed. Why?

Ah, I love riddles! I'm not that great at them, but I really like them smile
I agree with Deppfan for he last one - that's all I could think of.

Ok, just for fun, how's about some Old English Riddles (translated, of course)? The fun part is that nobody is quite sure about the answers, because tey're not in the original manuscripts...we spent an entire seminar trying to figure some of them out.
You don't need to know anything about Anglo-Saxons to figure out the ones I've posted, don't worry!
The most likely answers are in white underneath.

My garment is slent when I tread upon the earth
or reside in my dwelling or stir up the waters.
Sometimes my apparel and this high air
lift me over the dwellings of men,
and the strength of the wind carries me far
over the people. My ornaments
resound loudly and make music,
sing clearly, when I am not resting on
water and ground, a travelling spirit.

A Swan

A man sat at wine with his two wives
and his two sons and his two daughters,
dear sisters, and their two sons,
noble and firstborn children; in there was the father
of these noble boys, with each of them
uncle and nephew. In all there were five
men and women sitting within.

...Incest!

And, finally for laughs:

A curious thing sits by a man's thigh,
under the lap of its lord. In its front it is pierced,
it is stiff and hard, it has good position.
When the man lifts his own garment
above his knee, he intends to greet
with the head of his hanging object that familliar hole
which is the same length, and which he has often filled before.
