Lysander quirked an eyebrow at the stranger's display, a very bodily-kinesthetic response to his comment on her lack of training skills. It wasn't as if he could talk, as he'd had very little experience as a trainer himself. Amp was just... dumb, and while he hadn't spent much time with his Froakie, the male got the distinct feeling that it didn't like him much. But still, at least his pokemon weren't forcing him to run after them, blatantly attacking him, and throwing his clothes at him. Of course, it very well could have just been the Ledyba's personality, a prankster of sorts, as Heather had so optimistically suggested, but the older male clearly had a different opinion.
Heather bit down onto her bottom lip, unsure of whether to scowl at her brother or show concern for the girl; in the end she did a mixture of both, with the former given a higher priority. In a way, the other girl sort of reminded her of herself, and while they'd only just met she was only receiving good vibes from her; which was why she was quickly becoming exasperated by her brother's continued rude behavior. Heather offered a soft smile as the girl introduced herself, "Emory? That's a pretty name~" she chirped. In her arms Cadenza gave a cry of greeting before he waved, Heather rubbed her cheek over the top of his head. "This is Cadenza, my Spinda! He likes your name too." That... probably wasn't true, but there was a good chance that it was! Her happy little panda liked a lot of things, it wasn't entirely impossible that a name couldn't be one of those things.
Both siblings looked curiously, though Lysander's was hidden well behind skepticism, as a pokemon neither recognized approached Emory. Heather swooned a bit, it was a pretty pokemon, whatever it was. Watching as Emory wrote on the notepad she'd been given, Lysander grunted when it was thrust in front of him. "You seem upset," he commented languidly, taking the paper and lifting it up to peer over. He lowered it down when Heather leaned in to join in reading, a smirk now threatening to overtake his visage. Lysander, managing to suppress it, flicked his gaze down to Emory. "I'd probably have some difficulty," he admitted, handing the notepad back. "But, you certainly see me chasing after mine, or allowing it to attack me." Heather, who just barely managed to hold back from flailing her arms, simply reached up to flick her brother's cheek. "Stop being a jerk, Lys!" she insisted. The young adult looked down at his sister, considering something, before he sighed and shook his head. "Sorry," he muttered, the apology directed more to his sister than Emory.

He had his own sort of charm she was sure but she couldn't find it with this short of an encounter. Unfortunately, Emory could stay and chat. She could see her name flashing up on the monitor for Pokemon awaiting pick up plus there was Ledyba to contend with too. Jotting down her number and a small note apologizing for her need to go so quickly Emory bowed before rushing to collect her Pokemon and round up Ledyba before it could cause anymore problems.

Having been properly scolded, there was nothing more for Lysander to contribute to the conversation; nothing that wouldn't put him in hot water with Heather, at least. Luckily for him, the redhead found a distraction in the form of a returning Nurse Joy, who called him over to update him on Umbreon's condition. "She's a bit dehydrated and her right paw is sprained, but other than that she's in good condition. We gave her some fluids and wrapped up her paw, as long as she stays off it she should be healed in a matter of days," the woman informed, and Lysander nodded, relieved. "I take it this isn't your pokemon?" she continued on, catching him by surprise. "Yeah, how could you tell?" Nurse Joy gave a small smile, her attention flickering to the side as her assistant pokemon returned, wheeling Umbreon back out on the cart. "Your other pokemon were in good shape, and when I checked the database I discovered this Umbreon was a wild one. Surprising, considering her colors, but not uncommon."
Lysander, considering this, gave a nod before he walked over to the Umbreon. "Glad to see it wasn't anything serious," he remarked, then reached out to gently pat the top of her head. Umbreon sniffed a bit, eyes searching Lysander's face, before she bowed her head and nudged his hand gently. "Can I take her with me?" he inquired, addressing both the pokemon and Nurse Joy. "Yes, she's well enough to travel. Just remember what I said about her paw." Grinning he looked at Umbreon, curiously, before he inclined his head in her direction. The dark-type chose to stare at the man, thoughtful, before she eventually nodded and then laid her head back down. "Alright."
Quickly going through the process of officially catching her, Lysander prepared to return to his sister to check in on her when a nearby flyer caught his attention; its bright paper and even brighter words impossible to miss. Though he didn't approve of the color choice, he had to admit his attention was piqued, and Lysander moved closer to read it over. An Easter Egg hunt across the eight regions? That wasn't his thing, but he knew Heather would get a kick out of it, and it was possible he needed to make up to his sister for his behavior. With that decided, Lysander ripped the flyer from off the wall before he strolled over to his sister.
Heather, in the meantime, couldn't help but to pout angrily at the slip of paper Emory had left her, a hastily scribbled number and note of apology on it. Of course, she wasn't angry at the girl but rather her brother. For in her mind, it was his attitude that had driven Emory away. He'd get an earful out of her soon enough. For now, however, Heather contended herself with adding Emory's number to her phone and sending her a quick text to assure she'd inputted it correctly, before she looked up at the sound of approaching feet.
Lysander didn't speak, simply handing the flyer over to Heather for her to read, and while she tried to hide it he heard the distinctive sound of a gasp. She was interested. "This sound like something we should do?" he asked, needlessly, dropping down to briefly inspect Froakie as he hopped over to him. "Yeah, of course!" Heather's eyes were shining brightly, and her grip on the flyer tightened in excitement. This sounded like fun! She hadn't participated in an egg hunt in years! Remembering something, Heather forced her smile into a frown and glared at her brother, "don't think I'm not still made at you," she warned.
The male smirked, not at all concerned with his younger sibling's anger, before he ruffled her hair. "Yeah, I know."

Back in Santalune once more, Lysander made it a point of finding them the nearest bench to occupy. He sat down with a sigh, Heather joining him, then pulled out his pokedex and an unopened box of Poptarts, holding the former in his non dominant hand while he used the other to pop open the box. Managing to get out the 'breakfast' -- with how much sugar packed in, could one even truly suggest they should be consumed for breakfast -- pastry he proceeded to split the plastic before he slipped one out and bit into it. Lysander chewed contently, absently switching his Pokedex to his right hand, then began to fiddle with it.
Heather, meanwhile, sat quietly next to her brother and reflected on what he'd told her about his first battle. She was a tad upset, admittedly, if only because she'd have wanted to be there to watch it, but at the same time she was pleased; it seemed that almost losing was all the incentive her brother needed to take this training business a bit more seriously. Heather ran her hand over the Easter Egg hunt flyer absently, eyes roaming over the fifty areas they'd need to visit. Excitement fluttered through her, and the young girl began to swing her legs out. They were going to have a great time doing this! She could feel it!
Lysander, who'd managed to get through half of his poptart, looked up, a few crumbs littering his mouth, at his sister before his attention fell to Cadenza, who as usual sat in the girl's lap. With an idea in mind, he languidly lifted his pokedex up to scan the Spinda, then grunted as he watched a good chunk of information pull up onto the screen. He freed up both his hands by taking hold of his food in between his teeth, then began scrolling through pokedex to locate the information he could only hope was there.
"Fon' et!" A muffled exclamation caused Heather to turn her head, but she couldn't help but laugh at the sight of her brother, his wide smirk hidden by the cinnamon poptart sticking out of his mouth, crust still flecked around his mouth. "What did you find?" she inquired, reaching over to brush at his crumbs. Lysander, despite the face he made, stood still until Heather drew her hand away then pushed the rest of his pastry into his mouth, leaving him momentarily unable to talk. While chewing quickly he passed the pokedex over to his sister, then pointed to the screen. "Potential moves?" Heather read aloud. "Oh! So you mean, we can--""Exactly!" He interrupted, mouthful swallowed. "We'll use this to figure out which moves to teach who, then we can continue from there."
Rather proud of his discovery, Lysander began to release his pokemon, then nudged his sister to do the same. Once that was done, Heather took it upon herself to scan her pokemon first, starting with Cavatina. "Looks like you can learn quite a few moves, Tina," she commented, impressed. "Oh! These sound good, considering your type weaknesses, Dig and Rock Slide!" She shifted herself to the left, leaning against her brother, to show him the information and grinned when he nodded. "You should teach her that," he agreed, taking the Pokedex from her to begin scanning his own pokemon.

With a plan decided, all they needed to do was set it in motion -- and that was done after they'd returned their pokemon and Lysander had finished his second poptart, and started on his third. "Didn't we eat earlier?" Heather asked as they walked towards the Pokémon Center, which coincidentally also held the Pokémon Market, watching her brother wolf down his third pastry in awe. "Yeah, but we never got to finish our food," Lysander muttered around another mouthful, chasing it down with a swig of the water from the water bottle he had. His sister shook her head, smile on her face, before she absently rubbed her cheek against Cadenza's head with a soft hum.
"You know you spoil him," Lysander commented, his awareness increasing once he'd finished off the last of his poptart and thrown the wrapper in the nearest trash can. "Do I~?" Heather, hardly paying attention herself, lifted Cadenza higher up into the air and grinned up as he happily kicked his legs out. "Well, if I do, he definitely deserves it~ He's my precious baby, aren't you?" she cooed and, with soft laughter, brought the musical Spinda back down to hug him gently, who was more than happy to return the affection.
Lysander rolled his eyes at the display, but didn't comment. He knew how much Cadenza meant to his little sister, after all he was the one who had gifted her the Hoenn-based pokemon a few weeks back, once she'd managed to convince him to join her on their journey. He'd come from a breeder who specialized in shiny Spinda, and while Lysander knew the benefits of actually catching your first pokemon, when he'd seen the spots the young pokemon sported, similar to musical notes, he knew he couldn't not introduce the two.
Turning away from his sister and her fawning, Lysander perked up as they drew closer to the Pokémon Center and put on a burst of speed. The sooner they arrived, and bought their items, they could take on Viola and then continue on with their... egg hunt. He wasn't so much excited for the latter, rather he wanted to prove to someone -- most likely himself -- that he could get a handle on being a pokemon trainer.
Fifteen minutes later and the siblings, with their wallets a little lighter, had the items they needed and, after Heather had asked extensive questions about their items and how to use them, were now in the process of teaching their pokemon their newest move. "Come on, Amp, it's not going to kill you," Lysander urged as his Shinx sniffed suspiciously at the mushroom his trainer held out in his hand. He'd already crushed the heart scale, per the cashier's instruction, and showered the scales over the cub. Now he only needed to eat this big mushroom, then Lysander could check what new moves he had learned. Meanwhile, Heather had a much easier time in convincing Cavatina to consume her mushroom, and while the Treecko munched away on the fungi the teenager was busy teaching her Dig via the TM she'd bought. There hadn't been any Rock Slide TMs in stock, so they'd have to keep a look out for them.

Heaving a sigh of relief, Lysander turned to his sister once he managed to convince Amp to eat the mushroom, pulling out his pokedex to scan the Shinx and check what new moves he'd learned. "Ice Fang and Iron Tail, nice," he spoke, approval in his tone. Amp, while he didn't understand entirely what was going on, mewled happily before padding over to rub his head against his trainer's leg, if the male was happy then so was he! Lysander snorted, looking down at his pokemon, but handed the Pokedex over to Heather before he crouched down to gently scratch both the cub's ears, indulging him.
"Oooh, Razor Wind? That seems cool!" Heather chirped after scanning Cavatina, though the Treecko only crossed her arms over her chest before she gave a nod; even she had to admit, the move sounded... powerful. With that squared away all that was left was to challenge Viola, which meant finding the gym itself. Heather led the way through the streets, Cavatina on her right and Lysander on her left. "I imagine Viola will have more than one pokemon, so we should get a turn each," Lysander suggested, phone out for the sole use of reading up on the woman they were about to face; Melody hadn't texted him back.
"Do you think that's allowed?" Heather inquired, skeptical. Lysander shrugged, "I don't see why not. It's not as if we're challenging her to a double battle or anything, your pokemon will take on one pokemon and mine the next." Heather, after some thought, nodded. "Speaking of, you aren't thinking of Tina are you?" he asked, pulling his phone back to eye the pokemon. "I was, actually. This is the perfect chance for her to show off her new moves!" Lysander made a face but eventually shrugged, "if you're sure, but Viola uses bug pokemon," he reminded, then snorted as his sister simply waved him away, "it'll be fine!" He wasn't going to argue with her.
Even if he'd spent his childhood in Kalos, Lysander hadn't made many trips to Santalune, and none had involved investigating its gym. Which was why, when they finally arrived and found themselves in an art exhibit rather than a gym, the first emotion to register on the male's face was confusion. Looking at his sister, he saw that she shared his feelings. "...This is the gym, right?" Heather spoke first, voicing the same question he had. Lysander nodded, hesitantly, before he took another step forward, "it should be." Both siblings were wary, but they ventured forward until they finally managed to flag down a person, who quickly explained that the building they were in doubled as both a gym and art exhibit, the pictures on display actual photos taken by the gym leader herself during the many battles she'd participated in.
Lysander, noting this, moved away to began examining the pictures out on the walls. Heather followed. "I didn't know you had such an appreciation for art, Lys," she teased, her eyes falling on to the photo directly in front of her. "I don't," the male admitted, eyebrows furrowed gently as his gaze searched the photos. Thirty seconds later and his studious expression had been replaced with a confident grin. "Viola uses two pokemon, Surskit and Vivillon," he informed his sister, rather proud of his detective work. "And since Vivillon is a flying and bug type, Tina stands a better chance against Surskit."
Heather tipped her head to the left, taking to observing her brother from that angle, before with a grin she punched his shoulder. "Look at you! You're really getting into this~" That immediately set Lysander to scowl, playfully, and with a roll of his eyes he poked his sister's forehead before pushing past her to stand in front of the entrance to the gym section of the building, a sizable hole with a pole in the middle for trainers to slide down. "Let's get this over with," he insisted, scooping up Amp in arm and taking hold of the pole with his free hand before he jumped down. Heather watched, excited, but then gestured for Cavatina to go on ahead of her, she certainly wouldn't have any issue going down. Cadenza, on the other hand, would need a bit of help, and Heather gently moved her partner from her arms to her back.
"Hang on tight," she urged, even as she felt Cadenza's arms wrap tightly around her neck. Heather made sure there was no one underneath before she grasped the pole with both hands and slid down, her feet touching down on the solid-ish floor beneath them in a matter of seconds. Switching Cadenza back into her arms, she looked around the gym and was surprised to find that she now stood on, what appeared to be, a giant web. She tapped her foot to test its durability, and after assuring that it wouldn't simply snap she began to walk around in search of Lysander and Cavatina. She found both at the end of the room, and in front of her brother stood a blonde haired woman with a camera in her hand, Viola.
"Sorry, were you waiting on me?" Heather stepped up to her brother's side, waving eagerly at Viola. "Bonjour, Viola! Je m'appelle Heather!" she introduced, in fluent French. One couldn't get away with living their entire lives in Kalos without knowing the popular language. Viola smiled back before curtseying, "bonjour, Heather! Est-que tu la sœur de Lysander?" she inquired, and the redhead nodded. "Oui!" Lysander cleared his throat, interrupting the two, and Heather smiled sheepishly. "Oh, sorry! Uh, Viola, we're here to challenge you!" Heather announced, needing to shift Cadenza to rest against her hip so that she could point confidently at the gym leader. Viola smiled before she took a few steps back, enlarging a pokeball before she tossed it and released a Surskit. "Very well!" she spoke, switching to English. "Come you two, show me what sort of beauty you and your pokemon hold!"

"Oh, Magnifique!" Viola oohed as she held up her camera to snap a photo. "Your Pokemon were certainly the center of attention during that battle." She added. Standing up straight, she lowered her camera to reveal a smile. Returning her fallen butterfly, Viola crossed the battle field and promptly fished free a series of items from her pouch, to which she offered to the young trainers. "You have certainly earned this badge, and my personal favorite TM, Infestation. Good luck against the other gyms." With a quick nod, she offered a wave and another smile before retreating to a seperate area to heal her Pokemon.

Lysander, with a wide grin, took the badge handed over to them while Heather accepted the TM, Viola's favorite apparently. Both siblings nodded to the woman as she departed before they turned to face each other, wearing matching smiles. "We kicked a**!" Lysander exclaimed, clearly pumped by their first gym victory -- and his second battle. Heather nodded eagerly, though kept from uttering any obscenities and instead lifted her hand up for a high-five, to which her brother happily gave. "This is only our first badge though, Lys, don't get too carried away," Heather remarked cheekily, momentarily taking the role of the realistic sibling.
With a snort and a smirk, Lysander decided to pet Amp (something he rarely did) in lieu of dignifying Heather with a response. Heather, amused, placed their TM away in the case she'd purchased back at the Pokémon Mart then took their badge and put it in a separate case, one that their mother had purchased for them right before they'd left. With everything settled away the only thing left was to figure a way out, something they discovered after pestering Viola further. Afterwards the siblings made a quick trip to the Pokémon Center to have Cavatina treated -- Amp hadn't taken any damage during their battle, so there was no reason for Nurse Joy to take a look at him and it was part of the reason why he was allowed to remain out of his ball -- and from there they began heading for South Lumoise.

Fumi walked by Pins' side as the forest cleared, revealing the city that was named similarly as the forest. While she did not have much experience outside of her hometown, she found the city to be pretty simple all things considered. She found the recurrence of the similar building structures of the Pokemon Center and the Pokemart to be reassuring as there would be no need to ask others for aid in knowing which structure it might be, at least that was what she gathered as the previous town had similar structures. It also helped that she had that chunky manual in her inventory.
Walking around the city at a leisurely pace, she noticed that this was the first stop to challenge herself in earning a gym badge. She knew she was nowhere near ready as she not have a basic understanding of her Pokemon; she didn't know what made them tick, their strengths and weaknesses and other necessary things like that. The only way she could think about strengthening their bond was by battle, but first she wanted to let Pins rest as they were walking for a while now. As her eyes searched for a place to sit themselves, Pins grew curious about the new scenery. The young Pokemon was not allowed far from the lab, so everything seemed and fresh, triggering the wanderer in him. Before he knew it, his tiny paws were taking him deeper into the city and further from his trainer. Luckily the amber-eyed girl caught sight of him before he was gone, but he was now a speck on the horizon. "Pins!" The girl rubbed her temple with her index. as she briskly walked towards her Chespin. She was just made aware that he was most likely to be the problematic of the group... How did she forget to keep an eye on him, she thought, slightly irritated by her misstep. Just as the rodent Pokemon's eyes caught a building with a blue roof, Fumi's call had alerted him to stop. And he did just that. She didn't seem to happy, but he certainly couldn't tell.

✵Wynter came flying into Santalune City- not literally, but she was moving pretty dang fast! Or... it felt like it. She came through the gates, passing some purple girl on her way in- almost colliding with her, and a rather larger shrubbery. Leaning over the bush slightly, Wynter would tilt back to make a less-than-elegant stumble backwards and let out a heavy sigh. It didn't take long to recover as Wynter began to look around her- It's just like Snowpoint! Just... without the snow... and the Factory... and- I wonder if they have a Cafe like home, too!! Wynter let out an excited squeak at the thought of finding her favorite drink before she took one step, instantly stopping with another odd sound- Root! He should be here for this! Her hand quickly snapped to the top ball on the side of her shoulder bag, popping it out of place to hold the ball forward and press the small button on the front. In an instant, Root was on the ground in front of her, chirping happily Ches! Wynter would let out a soft giggle, quickly going to both knees on the ground to pet the Chespin's head- the little Artistic Chespin chirping happily at the attention.
"Here we are, Root! Santalune City... Time to find a fellow artist- then we'll get started on the real adventure, right?"Wynter offered the Chespin, moving her hand away from his head and back to her lap.

Once she reached the front, she dug out a small card- the name 'Kyre' on the front... Wynter pouted a moment Ma'am? The voice in front of her said, the retailer staring at her- Wynter snapped back to attention and stuffed the card away, quickly getting out what yen she had to pay for the supplies-- short one bag of fruit. No real loss... Then the two left the building, Wynter offering a piece of chow to Root- who happily snatched the bit and started nibbling on it. The young trainer giggled at the sight as she slipped the supplies into her shoulder bag, looking around slowly.
"Now... For a trip into the past."Wynter vaguely said- trying to seem dramatic- as Root tilted his head at her.

Emory smiled slipping off the wagon and stepping up to the bulky male to give him a rather pitiful hug. She'd not noticed it until now but he was tall, almost a foot taller than she was. Rather impressive considering she wasn't too much shorter than the average person, 5.1. Boston returned the embrace, easily lifting the mute fem off her feet, squeezing the air out of her before putting her back down and letting go. "It was a pleasure." He said with a loud chuckle as Emory flashed the "thank you" Tattooed across her left pinky. Boston's smile grew winder if that was possible. "Im sure of it." He began setting a hand on the girl's shoulder weighing her down. "I expect to hear of great things from the mute without limitations!" Emory pursed her lips together hearing the praise but nodded all the same. For all his naivety Boston was at his core someone she trusted, despite their short time together.
With the departer resolved Emory made for the Tilnom house on foot having parked the wagon and released her Mudsdale from its restraints. A short moment to give it a silent thank you and she was on her way. The "house" as it was called was in, fact, more of a ruin. Stone walls with wood pillars that held up a recreation of a fated roof. The house was well preserved considering its age, nearly two thousand years, some time since before the Kalos war. The structure had been rebuilt clearly. Cement filled the gaps between the stones that made up the wall rather than mud, and new wooden support beams replaced the old. The yard was fenced in by bushes with an extension, of the same size for Farm Pokemon on the right-hand side of the property. Vegetable gardens pocketed the front and backyards.
"Can I help you miss?" A caretaker for the grounds asked as Emory got within earshot. It took the mute a moment to escape her awe-stricken stat of mind. This was the place her ancestors had once called home. The home of Emory Tilnom, the person for whom she adopted her nickname from. It didn't even occur to use her tattoo's to tell the girl she was mute. She just started to sign. "Ima decedent of Emory Tilnom. I was told this is where she lived, before the war?" The girl smiled and began to sign back. It took a second before the mute fem even realized she was being signed back to. She was, at first, trying to comprehend why! It dawned on her that in her rush shes signed first. The staff member had signed something along the lines of asking for her ID. Emory hastated holding up her finger with "why" tattooed across it. "We keep an active record of known family members of the Tilnom line. We'd be able to check to confirm if you are in fact related." The women abandoned sign language. Emory nodded pulling out her Poke'Dex and handing it off to the staff member. "If you'll just follow me~"
Emory took a sit outside a small office building adjacent to the ruins as the staff member stepped inside to run her ID. It was a short while before she returned. A stack of papers in hand which she promptly handed off to the Mute. "You are in fact a descendant of Emory miss Nalani" The woman remarked taking back a collection of papers stapled together, open it up, and turning it around so the mute could see. It was a detail line of ascension from each known ancestor from Emory Tilnom to herself. Many of the branches were left bare, some names in between were also left as "Unknown". "You're the first descended to return to the house that we have a record of. Would you mind letting us take your picture?" Emory nodded in agreement. Wonderful ill be right back then~"

✵Wynter had spent a bit of time circling the City until somebody finally told her where the historical building was she was looking for... Jonathan told her she'd probably find clues here- given what he knew from the book's signage. Root himself was happy to be out, receiving a small bit of chow now and then when he seemed to get distracted. For now food would have to keep him focused- Wynter was still pretty new at all this training... When they came to the ruins, hardly a structure- Root would crawl up on Wynter's bag and hang onto it- mounting it like a Ponyta with a small chirp of it's name. Wynter giggled softly and nodded to the Chespin with a light scratch on his chin.
"Don't worry. If I can get some answers, we will get to your training next. You'll be big and strong before you know it!"Wynter excitedly said, Root chirping in response.
✵Wynter took a couple steps forward, her eyes moving to a wagon to the side... Who has a wagon these days? Ooooh, I wonder if it's one of those vendors selling crazy weird stuff! That thought made Wynter start to giggle furiously before she would skip up into the building- and... it was pretty old. Wynter would scan around to the building- small repairs all around... it made her a bit nervous to even be inside. But this was where she needed to be... Her eyes would drift to a dark skinned girl getting help, biting her lower lip a moment before she was quick to divert her attention, promptly picking up Root and putting him on the ground- an action that got a puffy cheeked objection from the little Chespin. Wynter stuck her tongue out at him before pulling out the wore sketch book she'd been carrying around... The sketchbook made Root stop it's next action. The young trainer was about to see if she could queue herself behind the dark skinned girl for questions, but they moved out of the building...
✵As such, Wynter huffed a bit and walked out of the building to follow, watching the dark skinned woman left outside as the other went inside... Wynter eyed Emory a moment, a bit shy to get close before Root saved the day by pulling on her skirt. Wynter squeaked to the tug, turning to Root just in time for his paw to motion to the sketchbook. With a bit of confusion settling, Wynter snapped her fingers and suddenly dropped to a knee in front of Root, holding up the sketchbook for him to see.
"Remember how I said I'm looking for Artistic types? Well... That's why we're here."Wynter would start in a soft tone, smiling to Chespin, Root looked... confused.
"I'll explain it to you when you're older, let's go find Em--"Wynter started to say before hearing her own words come out of somebody else's mouth.
✵Wynter's attention shot to the curator talking to Emory, quickly scooping up Root in her arms- cradling the Chespin much to his dismay as she rushed over to the pair, listening to the rest of what they were saying. Of course the rest was a bit strange to hear... Wynter understood a family tree well enough, her father was obsessed on his good days at keeping the Kyre family 'rich blooded'. The Curator walked away, making Wynter turn her attention to Emory, who's attention probably wasn't on her yet. Wynter would take a moment to scan over the other woman, taking note of her features, clothing, and even height before Root suddenly chirped loudly, jabbing Wynter in the boob. Wynter yelped and dropped him- the Chespin landing like a true Ninja should.
"Ow! Hey! That was mean!"Wynter yelled at Root, the Chespin snapping around to throw up an adorable fist at her.
"Ches-Ches Chespin!"Root shouted defiantly, sticking it's tongue out at Wynter, and Wynter reacted the same way, leaning down and sticking her tongue out at the pokemon.
✵The two stood there a moment, childishly sticking their tongues out at each other before Wynter ingeniously plucked out a small chow piece and handed it to Chespin with a wicked grin. Root glared at her a moment before looking to the chow, then Wynter, then the chow... The Chespin snatched the chow and spun around to nibble on it.
"Nyah~ I win."Wynter mocked at Root before blinking rapidly, remembering she had gotten practically right next to Emory before that little... scene.
✵Wynter's attention slowly drew up to Emory- who was likely looking to see what was going on near her. The violet haired trainer was at a loss for words to start- Oh no! I didn't plan anything! What are you going to say?! Throw the book! No, don't throw it! You're staring! Why is she staring?! Isn't she going to say anything?! Aren't you?! Wynter stood as still as a statue, a red hue slowly flooding her pale face as she found herself staring at Emory, probably just weirding the girl out by now. Arceus! Say something! She's going to think you're weird, or a pervert, or stupid! I feel kinda stupid right now! Just say something!
"I-I-I... Hi."Wynter managed to squeak out- Wha- Say more than Hi!!!
"I'm Wynter! You- you are related to Emory? I... I am a-actually looking for somebody by that name! I think..."Wynter managed to choke out, quickly raising the old sketchbook as if that would mean something to Emory. Is it hot? It feels hot...
"And-and I'm Wynter! Oh no, I said that already! I'm sorry, you're just so... and... I'm just like... bleh--"The woman would add on, her arms flopping a bit as she tried to explain herself... and probably failing to do so. Smooth, Super Trainer. Smooth.

Randomly reading over just a few of the passages here and there. She wasn't looking for anything, just skimming the details. This was a lot more than she'd expected to get out of this trip. The mute wondered if she'd ever see Boston again so she could toss all this paper in the air due to all the frustration this was sure to cause in the very near future. Shed blame him even though it wasn't his fault. Good for a cheap laugh she thought, if he got the joke, he was a little dull. No matter.
The mute attention was now being drawn over and over again to a very distracting pair to her right. She'd tried to ignore them at first assuming it was a child and mother in her Perfil vision until she heard that familiar call of a Chespin. In a heartbeat, she jerked a hand to the rear of her hip line. There hung a belt with her poke'balls clipped in place. Emory made sure her Chespins ball was still there before looking around to find a pink haired fem and a Chespin of her own. The sight before her was as confusing as it was comical.
Trainer and Pokemon, facing off, tongue out in protest of the other. Neither gave an inch, not until the girl reached into her bag to produce a piece of food for the Pokemon. There was a moment of hesitation but in the end, the score was Trainer, one, Chespin, zero. A stifled and involuntarily snicker escaped the semi-mute as the trainer even verbally noted her victory. Emory closed the vanilla folder that held the papers she has been reading seconds before as the girl locked eyes with her. Emory's expression shifted from amusement to concern as the fem began trying to speak. She was stuttering something fierce. Maybe she had turrets?
As soon as the girl began speaking Emory instinctively reached into the side pocket of her bag to pull out a dry erase pen and pad. It was simply second nature. Her eyes were focused on getting out the pen and pad all the way until the fem said she was looking for someone by the name Emory. It didn't strick her immediately. Emory was a rare name but more so in the Alole then Kalos where it originated so she didn't look up until she had the pen and pad in hand, at least until she laid eyes on the sketchpad.
Everything else the girl said beside's her name was drowned out in the silence that enveloped her mind. The pen and pad dropped from her hand and she snatched the sketch pad right out of the women's hands. This wasn't possible. No, it couldn't~ could it? Flipping open the book the mute found it, her signature, or at least her nickname. Emory took a leaping stand back dropping the book as if it was something vial and wicked. Sending the folder of paper in scattering at her feet. All the memories of that terrible day washing over her. Eyes closed. Deep breaths. In, out. In, out. Emory recovered herself as quickly as she'd lose herself. A hand over her mouth. As if she could scream~ The other held up to show the tattoo inked across the back of her hand with the words "Im Emory" In the same fluid curves as in the book.
It took the mute a moment more before she could uproot herself and sit back down, but not before picking the sketchbook up while ignoring the less important papers. Setting it beside her on the bench. Emory flashed a second tattoo on her right hand "Im mute", and a third, "Where" on the same hands pinky. At the same time, she was rummaging through her bag to find a more recent sketchbook to prove her signature. Found it. Ripping the much smaller but equally, worn out book into the light of day she promptly turned the cover over to reveal her name, Emory, written in the same curving style as the one Wynter had just brought back to her after so many years missing.

Mudsdale had taken quite the liking to the bulking male. Following close at his side nudging him for the occasional chin rub. Emory puffed her checks out slightly. Not upset at the mention of her "condition" but the fact he didn't even bother turning to look at her. What did he expect her to do, throw it at him? No, that was a good idea! Boston wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer that was for sure. Emory wrote out her reasoning, crumpling it into a ball and threw it at the man's head. It hit with a satisfyingly harmless "thub". "Wah, huh~" Boston's reaction looked like he'd come under attack. Ducking down, hands up and shuffling for cover. Emory snickered. Quickly covering her mouth embarrassed that of all things could slip from between her lips yet words could not. "Miss Emory did you see that!?" Boston was nothing if not entertaining, whether he was putting on an act or not was yet to be determined.
