"And besides, I had particular secret places of my own in the woods, where I used to retire by myself; and used to be from time to time much affected" (Edwards 386)
Sounds a lot like me. Well, the part about having special places that only I knew about in the woods that I would hang out quite a bit at. The religious aspect not so much.

"Heaven appeared to me exceeding delightful as a world of love. It appeared to me, that all happiness consisted in living in pure, humble, heavenly, divine love" (Edwards 390)
I like how Jonathan Edwards worded that description. And I think I have to agree with that. It is said that God is love... so therefore, heaven must be a place filled with love. :)

I love the imagery in this selection:
"...and that it made the soul like a field or garden of God, with all manner of pleasant flowers; that is all pleasant, delightful and undisturbed; enjoying a sweet calm, and the gently vivifying beams of the sun. The soul of a true Christian, as I then wrote my meditations, appeared like such a little white flower, as we see in the spring of the year; low and humble on the ground, opening its bosom, to receive the pleasant beams of the sun's glory; rejoicing as it were, in a calm rapture; diffusing around a sweet fragrancy; standing peacefully and lovingly, in the midst of other flowers round about; all in like manner opening their bosoms, to drink in the light of the sun" (Edwards 390).

"...I see that serpent rising and putting forth its head, continually, everywhere, all around me" (Edwards 396). I just of The Karate Kid and the scene of the lady at the temple and the snake; how the snake, unconsciously, was copying what the lady did.
I don't know if anyone else has thought of this in this form of context but...
As known to most everyone, the Snake is considered to be a symbol of the Devil. Well... what if a person - a Christian, if they need to be - was able to outsmart the snake-like Devil? The Devil may have tried to gain control of the person, but in the end, the person outsmarted them. *does the slow Snake hypnotism move* Nice try Devil! Me 1 You 0.

I was going to type out quotes of another piece I just read, but then I realized I enjoyed the entire thing. So, I'll just say this: Jonathan Edwards' "On Sarah Pierpont" sounds like it's describing me. If you haven't read the piece, and/or want to get a better sense of what I'm like, I suggest you go and read it.

Alright. I'm done with my reading. Sure, I didn't read all of the pieces, but there was too many and they were quite long. I at least read enough to get an understanding of each's styling and what they mostly focused on. So... yeah...

Just finished a doll portrait of me. :) It's been awhile since I've done of me, so I thought I would do one. Especially since it's been over a month since I last dolled. Better to reignite my dolling skills with something easy and simple to do, than some complicated, elaborate piece.

Back.
Once I'm done with this doll, I'm going to play more of the Pool game that Gaia just released. It's really fun. :
