Elizabeth had waited for a while before the Nurse Joy came back with all her pokemon, telling her that they are healed up. She took all of them back before going over to the PC, thinking. Since Marigold did so good with the gym battle, she decided to let her rest and train someone else for the time being. So she switched out Marigold for Daisy before she was ready to move onto her next destination. Elizabeth walked out of the Pokemon Center and headed towards the exit, on her way over to the gate for the next city and going through it.

It was dark by the time he finally stepped through the doors of Santalune’s pokemon center and Noel’s eyes were watering from the need for sleep. The Nurse Joy at the corner perked up in surprise at the late night arrival, eyeing the boy sympathetically as he approached the counter and stifled yet another yawn.
”Oh dear, you’re up late! I take it you’re looking for a room for the night?” She asked softly. Noel opened his mouth to try and answer yes but ended up letting out yet another long yawn. Immediately he clamped a hand over his mouth, giving the pink-haired woman an apologetic look that just earned him a soft laugh. ”It’s alright dear. Here you go,” she remarked, reaching under the counter and producing a room key that she set down for him to take. ”There’s a room for you, do please rest up alright? You young trainers really should take care yourselves.”
"Thank you ma’am." Noel managed to mumble as he swiped up the key from the counter, giving a little bob of his head in her direction before heading back towards where the rooms were located.

Noel found the room without much difficulty, unlocking the door and heading inside. It was a small room, quaint and the kind of thing you expected to be made available for free to travelling trainers and all with a simple bed and night stand. He took a seat on the edge, setting Algernon down next to him before going about tugging off his shoes and his hoodie, storing them neatly on a nearby chair. With some careful maneuvering he pulled his hat, setting it on top of his hoodie as well before adjusting his headset back into place. He also went through the small maneuvers of reducing the antenna sizes for the time being, so that he could sleep more comfortably with the thing on. He should’ve really brought that secondary pair he most often used when he slept but his parents had been rather insistent that he leave them behind just in case. Probably so they could create a few more pairs for him or try to make a better set.
No matter, he would be alright. He was pretty practiced in not moving around a lot when he slept so he wouldn’t have to worry about the situation. Once he was comfortably situated, Noel pretty much collapsed onto the bed, crawling under the covers. Algernon simply curled up on top of the covers nearby, adjusting himself carefully to make sure his own headset was safe from falling off. Soon enough Noel’s conscious gave way to warmth and sleep, the pair falling into slumber in only a short time.

Soon the first signs of dawn came around, the sun peeking over the nearby hills and buildings to bathe the city a blanket of morning warmth. Algernon was the first of the pair to wake up, rubbing the sleep from his wide eyes as he sat up and stretched. He could see the hints of light already beginning to seep through the window to indicate the start of the day.
He stood up and stretched some more, adjusting his headset back over his ears before crawling his way up towards Noel’s form. He placed a paw to the side of his trainer’s face, gently shoving it a bit to try and stir him. At first there was nothing but soon Noel was groaning and shifting to sit up, expression groggy as his mind started to whirl awake. Soon he was remembering where he was and what was going on, becoming a little livelier as he gave Algernon a gentle pat on the head in greeting.
"Mornin’ Algy….," he murmured, rubbing the sleep from his eyes before pulling the covers back and swinging his feet to the floor. He followed the same procedure, adjusting his headset back to normal and stretching a bit before nabbing up his clothing and getting re-dressed. By the time he was finished he was good and awake and ready for some breakfast.
"C’mon Algy! Let’s get moving so we can get some breakfast before we go, okay?" He chimed. Algernon gave a chirp of agreement and with that Noel scooped the Espurr back up into his arms and headed out. He dropped the key for the room off at the front desk, thanking Nurse Joy gratefully for it before heading off to the cafeteria to find a bite to eat. He let his team out and got them some of the pokemon food, setting the bowls down for them to enjoy while he himself grabbed a couple of breakfast burritos to enjoy for himself.
Actually this was a perfect time to get acquainted with the Pikachu he’d acquired. He hadn’t had the chance before but given the break it was a perfect time. He set the plate down on a table, kneeling down and smiling at the Pikachu who already had a few pellets of pokemon food shoved into her cheeks. She gave him a bit of a leery look, tail twitching a bit as she took in the sight. She seemed to acknowledge though that he wasn’t the original trainer who’d caught her, though she didn’t seem entirely happy either way. Noel just grinned, offering out a hand.
"Hey there! I’m Noel, you… ah… new trainer I guess!" He greeted trying his best to be friendly. The Pikachu paused in shoving food into her mouth, staring hard at Noel before finally swallowing. Her tail twitched again from side to side as she stared before she gave a little huff that seemed to indicate she at least… accepted this fact. Noel wasn’t really sure how to take that, expression uncertain as his hand hovered in the air a moment before finally inched it forward to try and pet the Pikachu on the head. It was a rather tense situation and he was well aware that one wrong move might warrant a fierce electric shock, but it ultimately ended it what seemed to be a slightly annoyed response from the Pikachu as she allowed him to pet her head. Well, at least no shocking.
With that tense first meeting out of the way, the lad left his pokemon to finish their food while he focused on his own. He scarfed it down rather quickly –he was hungry- and once everyone else was finished, returned everyone but Algernon and the Pikachu. He cleaned up the mess that had been left before heading out of the center once more into the bright new day, immediately making in the direction of the forest. But first he paid a visit to the local pokemart. He did a little digging and purchased a few things, even scoring a little letter case that happened to contain a flute that might be useful to his future endeavours. With that handled and a grin on his face, he headed out into the streets once more.

It didn’t take long for Noel to finally find the outskirts of the city where the patches of grass became more numerous and the wild pokemon apparently lingered. It’d taken him a little bit of research to find out where he needed to be, but apparently this area was the best one for his future team addition. Setting Algernon down next to Pikachu –he still needed to come up with a name for her, he realize, but that could wait until a little bit later once he’d gotten to know her more- he knelt down and swung his backpack off his back. He dug around until he found the black flute he’d been given, eyeing the carefully crafted piece.
If he’d understand correctly –and hopefully he had- all he had to do was play this flute and he’d find himself luring the pokemon he was looking for. Of course, it required he play a tune specific to that pokemon and so for the next few minutes he spent time browsing his pokedex for that information. It was slowly dawning on him just how many creatures existed in the world.
Wow.
Eventually though, he found the entry he was looking for. An Azurill; a cute little blue ball attached to another blue ball. He’d always wanted a Marill or even an Azumarill but the thought of evolving one from first form was rather exciting. They said that babies tended to grow up into rather strong pokemon if raised right. Hopefully he was up to the task.
"Alright Algy. Be on the lookout, I’m not very good at playing instruments you know." Noel remarked as he stood back up, flute in his hands as prepped himself to play. Algernon gave a little coo of understanding, paws on his headset to hold it in place as he went on the alert. Pikachu watched the pair curiously, the expression on her face looking rather confused. She wasn’t sure what was going on, but her focus was still on the strange shared headset between her new trainer and his pokemon. What was the deal with that? In all honesty, her focus was on that more than anything. Noel seemed like a nice kid, a change from what she’d first encountered, but she was still very new to the whole being a caught pokemon thing.

Noel took a deep breath and placed the flute to his lips, slowly beginning to play the tune. It had a bit of a bouncy beat to it, which seemed fitting given the type of pokemon he was trying to summon. For a minute or so it didn’t seem to be working, with little response from any of the surrounding grass. Noel worried. Was he playing it wrong? He wasn’t exactly a musician or anything, but it sounded right and the tune was simple enough that even he could play it. He kept going through and was about to give up when the sounds of nearby rustling caught his ear.
Immediately he stopped as the rustling grew louder, turning his attention in its direction. Algernon focused on that area as well, Pikachu immediately perking up and staring in wonder. It wasn’t long before two little blue ears sprouted up from the grass, twitching before the entire little polka dot pokemon waddled its way out. Noel burst into a grin, absently releasing the flute and letting it drop to the ground only for it to shatter much to his surprise.
"Oh!" Noel chirped startled. He hadn’t expected that to happen. The Azurill stopped and perked up to, attention directing to the group in question. The white-haired boy hesitated before dropping to his bag again and quickly scrambling for a pokeball. Algernon took the hint that Noel was pretty much unprepared for all the little misfortunes he was having and took it upon himself to at least temporarily incapacitate the Azurill until Noel had found a pokeball. Which wasn’t hard to do; the creature was tough but well… not that tough.

Okay well that hadn’t gone quite as expected. Noel frowned and quickly rushed over to retrieve the pokeball once it dinged that the capture was successful. "That was… good Algy." He tried to praise, though his tone waivered a little. He knew he’d have had to weaken the creature to make it easier to catch but he certainly hadn’t expected Algernon’s zen headbutt to knock it out in one go. That was probably not the best way to make first impressions. Algernon shuffled his feet, gaze shifting downwards as though he were apologetic for his actions. That pulled at Noel’s heart strings and immediately he forced a smile, kneeling down and gently petting the Espurr on the top of his head.
"It’s okay, don’t be bummed! We caught it and that’s what matters!" He chimed, the enthusiasm over the success clear. Algernon looked up, staring intently at his trainer before giving a little nod seeming to suggest he was okay with that. Pikachu simply tilted her head, giving the pair a mixed look of confusion. She certainly didn’t see a reason to be moping over taking down another pokemon. Was she missing something here?
Noel just grinned a little more, turning his attention to Pikachu and giving her a pat on the head before rising back to his feet. "Okay you two, c’mon! Let’s get back to a pokemon center and heal this fella up and then we can go do some training!" The two pokemon looked up at him and then to one another as though silently communicating between themselves. Noel didn’t seem to mind though; he’d completed what he’d come here to do so the next step was training!

Noel was quick to head back to the pokemon center with his team mates in tow, once more heading up to the counter much to the Nurse Joy’s surprise. Apparently, she wasn’t expecting to see him so often and it was probably concerning. But she happily healed up his team again, handing the pokeballs back to him once done and allowing him on his way.
Noel was busy grinning over the future endeavors. Soon he’d be training and hopefully getting closer to defeating the next gym. He took a moment to browse the marketplace once more, picking up a little care package bundle that happened to be on sale along with some other goods. They were all going to be useful in the long run and he was rather happy to be able to purchase the last bundle on sale and was pretty much skipping his way out once all was said and done. He wanted to get back to Unova before he started training a gain, which meant quickly heading back towards Lumiose and hopping the train. Luckily it was the early morning so they’d make it with time to spare.
"C’mon guys, we gotta get moving fast!" He remarked to Algernon and Pikachu, starting to pick up the pace as he once more headed for the route gate to Lumiose.

►Santalune City was just as Clair had described it with its extra wide cobblestone roads, victorian style buildings, vibrant flower beds, and Sycamore tree's planted seemingly haphazardly along the roads. Her instructions for getting here were spot on perfect too. Thank's to them it took Emory just under three days to make the trip from the edge of Santalune forest to the Pokemon center. It had been a peaceful trip if all be it lonely. Her Pokemon were good company but they didn't compare to the company of another human being with whom she could hold conversations with on some level. Thankfully she would be here for a while due to the fact this was the site of her first gym battle.
"You finally made it to Santalune. We were starting to get worried." Said Emory's mother over video chat once at the Pokemon center. Emory had been on the road for nearly a week straight without the amenities of a civilized life. She desperately needed to get cleaned up and a hot meal wouldn't be a bad follow-up. But first, she had to let her parents know where she was now. "I just got here. I was training in Santalune Forest" Emory signed. " I caught a bunch of new Pokemon~" Emory continued going on to explain how she'd acquired the wagon, her time with Triston and of her time on the road so far. "I suppose we can hold on sending Viviette back over." Her father said. "For a little longer anyway." That was honestly a relief. It would give her more time to prove she didn't need a babysitter. "Id appreciate that."
After hanging up with her parent's Emory gathered whatever clothes she could find in the wagon to change into after a bath. It wasn't much but she would make due. What she found was far from her normal attire but Emory wasn't above trying new things and being adventures. Turning in the mirror Emory had to admit she looked the part of a gypsy herself now. The earthy colors and glass beads were honestly quite befitting her skin tone and brought out a more natural beauty she often times covered up or ignored. Come to think of it Clair dressed much the same way. The color of her clothing might have been an extension of herself too. Those bright reds and soothing blues and greens all mixed well on Clair but she doubted many others could pull that odd mixture of colors off as well.
Bathed, and feed, Emory then tracked down the Pokemon Gym. According to Triston, the gym leader here used bug type Pokemon. Bug types weren't normally the most powerful of Pokemon so she didn't feel she needed to worry too much about type advantages.The gym trainers however felt differently. Two trainers blocked the path to the gym leader. Neither used bug types but they posed a for a good warm-up match. Continuing on Emory pushed the double doors to the Gym leader's arena open. A large greenhouse with an assortment of tropical plants greeted her on both sides with the arena set under a grass ceiling. It was as imposing as it was impressive.
The gym leader, a woman, stood in the center of the arena awaiting her arrival. Crossing the distance Emory first gave a respectful bow then hold up her hand to reveal the tattooed finger stating "I'm mute". She knew she needed to officially announce her challenge otherwise the gym leader could refuse her. Emory pulled from her belt a Pokeball and held it out. It was something the royalty of Kalos sometimes did in official challenges. She could only hope it translated here ...

►It took Emory a good second longer then she wanted to admit to realize the gym leader was speaking in french as she accepted her challange. It threw her off for a slip second. Long enough to shatter her confidence fearing she would be turned away. The realizing she was in fact, accepting her challenge brought back her lost smile. Skipping to her side of the battlefield Emory pulled from her bag the Kalos Poke'dex scanning the Surskit. A water bug type. so it was weak the rock and electric moves. That made her initial choice all the better. She lacked the advantage of a flying type and shuckle's rollout wasn't nearly powerful enough to contend with this sort of foe. That left just one other option.
Releasing the fluffy electric sheep Flaaffy, Emory was confident she held the high ground. Flaaffy most have felt the same way as she almost went ahead and attacked. Emory tapped the toe of her shoes and clapped simultaneously. Flaaffy stopped and turned back. Emory simply held up her Pokeball. Flaaffy was trained to understand these sort of indicators better than say Chespin who was still learning. Emory snapped her fingers then tapped her toe again. Flaaffy obeyed by pulling in an electric charge from the around around them.

Subconsciously Viola found herself nodding at her challenger's choice of pokemon, though not always the case against a bug-type leader the young girl would find that her Flaaffy, an electric type, would work very well against Viola's pokemon. "Surskit, let us stat this off with elegance!" the gym leader suggested with a quick gesture in Flaaffy's direction. Understanding this the water-skater zipped in to crash her body into the other's, zipping back after the damage had been dealt. Their attack made the two watched as the young challenger made a series of motions, which Flaaffy was able to translate into Charge. Viola quirked an eyebrow, impressed by the clear connection between trainer and pokemon as well as the attack itself, and made sure to snap a few quick shots of the electricity crackling around Flaaffy. They were clearly preparing for an attack, which meant that she needed to get in as much damage as she could. "Surskit, Quick Attack once more!" Once more did Surskit oblige, moving in on her spindly legs to dish out yet another attack.

"Flaaa FEEEeeee!" It was bright. Emory had to shield her eyes taking a cautious step back. The floor vibrated slightly as something akin to a thunderclap shook the room.
