Misa pocketed the Firestone in her pack and resumed reading the board. From what it looked like there was a notice that said that there were Pokemon that held stones of some significant value. That honestly just meant that the more Wild Pokemon she ran into, the likelier she was to fill her bag with some rare gems. Gems that could be used to evolve her Pokemon. It wasn’t a bad way to spend her time since the Jigglypuff was not making its appearance. It was disappointing since she was meeting other Pokemon in this city but she was getting compensated.

It was then that she decided that it may be best to visit the library. She had already told herself that she wanted to gather more information on Pokemon among other things. The library was the best place to gather any sort of information she was looking for. Thus she began to head in that direction with a small rat Pokemon following behind. It seemed to have this urge to get revenge for the other Rattata’s whose precious items were getting stolen by a human. The teenager’s mind was filled with what sort of information she wanted to learn while in the library. She definitely wanted to learn the different types of Breeders because it felt like there were various types out there. Misa wanted to learn about the Pokemon she had on her team and the ones waiting for in the PC. Maybe there was something she could do for them, like make them meals they may find more appealing or something along those lines. Speaking of meals she just had to get some cooking books as well. So maybe the library and the bookstore would be a great option too.

Since she had been practicing from her time in Pallet Town she had gotten quite used to it and excelled. It made going to and from places a lot quicker too. But that could be said about the tired Rattata. It didn’t look very ferocious as it tried to egg on the girl. “Ra….ttata…” Misa looked to the small creature as it huffed and puffed. Well, it looked like the first place she was going to enter was the library. Who knew if Pokemon battles were even allowed in such a place. Still, she went on in to get more information that would assist her in her adventure. It was a better idea than guessing which Gym she was going to go to and what items she even had in her pack. It was just a nice place to get some information that would definitely prove valuable. Looking at the sign outside of the building it emphasized that it was to be quiet within the building. Strangely enough it didn’t have anything to say about any Pokemon battles. Were they an exception?

The girl entered the library, unexpectedly there were actually quite a few people inside. The size of the library was a pleasant surprise too since the one in Pallet Town was quite small. The essentials were all there but the books were not plentiful. The library in Pewter City was a different story. It completely dwarfed the library in her hometown. Though, that might as well be expected from a city library compared to a town library. The two were from different worlds in terms of size and volume. Misa looked for a directory as she didn’t want to get lost in this place. What she didn’t know was that Pokemon Battles were sometimes a means to settle disputes and infestations.

A small, but uncommon, snake was slithering across the bookshelves of this establishment. It flickered its tongue in the hopes for a new prey. It was a strong little one too at a Lv. 8 which meant that the Pokemon to face it would get a nice chunk of Exp from it. So it was going to be choosy as to who would get that Exp. It was a seasoned Ekans and it wanted a seasoned Trainer. It was slithering across the library trying to get a feel for a strong one. When Misa popped into the library it could feel the strength of her Pokemon. It had found its prey and not it just needed to entice it to a battle. Here {8/10=Leafstone}

Misa found herself between two rather tall bookshelves that overshot her head. She was looking for information on the Gym Leaders as a start for her search. There were actually quite a bit of books on the Gym Leaders of Kanto along with the other regions. So much information was at the tips of her fingertips till something slipper made contact with her. A faint hissss and she knew what she was dealing with. It was just a question of whether she could bring any of her Pokemon in here. Misa wouldn’t bring Geodude since all of its moves affected the environment in one way or another. Her then only choice was to choose Pikachu who didn’t have a type advantage over this Poison type.

The yellow bundle looked around at this new environment and was quite surprised at the scenery. It could see the Ekans slithering out of the bookshelf and slithering on the floor. At least the opponent was considerate of the books in the library.

Before Misa could investigate a small beeping alerted her to the fate of Pikachu. Misa looked at her Pokedex and knew she had to act quickly to prevent the future of her partner. She already promised herself that she would train Sandshrew once another Pokemon had reached the level where she could no longer control them. Then, making quick work of this situation she switched out Pikachu with Sandshrew so that no further problems would arise with this. It was done with a few button pressing and making sure that she was making the right commands. So, as Misa returned Pikachu into the ball it was immediately replaced with Sandshrew’s ball. ”Welcome to the team Sandshrew.”

This new teammate was a good alert to tell Misa that all of the necessary Pokemon were ready for the next Gym Leader. She still needed to prepare for the next Gym Battle though so she had to resume her research. Putting aside her joy Misa grabbed the item that the Ekans left behind. Unlike the Firestone from before she was able to recognize this stone. It was a Leafstone and she was able to authenticate it. She had observed a few of these stones from her parents when they brought one home. It was nice to feel something so familiar, and felt so much like the Earth. Like the Firestone from earlier she could feel the sensation of the Earth on her fingertips.

Pocketing a familiar item Misa went back to book hunting. She was able to find the Kanto region leaders which meant that it would include those from the Elite Four even though it was still far off. Opening up the book she flipped the pages till she was able to get to the part about her next Gym Battle. ’So the next Gym Leader is the Water-type specialist Misty. It says here that she uses two Pokemon for this battle. A Staryu and a Starmie. If I remember correctly they are both Water-type with the exception that Starmie is also a Psychic-type. These Pokemon are tend to be able to cure status effects and are able to regrow their limbs. I better be careful when battling them or else I might have to go through a long battle with those two.

Slippery skin curled itself around Misa’s legs. Grabbing her attention away from information and for her gaze to look down at the creature. It was another Ekans whose level was that at a 6. It was weaker than the other one but it may have been a good opportunity for her two Ground-types to get some practice in. Since the snake Pokemon and Sandshrew were at the same level this would be an opportune opportunity to give Sandshrew a chance to fight. The new yellow member in the team popped out. It looked around the area to see where it was. When it looked at the human girl it gave its head a small tilt. Misa placed a finger on her lips to signal silence towards the new member. It clamped its mouth shut by placing both its hands over its mouth. The small creature wasn’t sure what was happening but it looked like it needed to be quiet.The Sandshrew waited for Misa direction, its eyes looked a bit scared. The teen gently patted the creature’s small head and pointed to the snake by her legs. The creature bolted its head toward the Ekans and then began to understand why the human had summoned it.
