He frowned and pulled out a small sphere, handing it to her. "My two boys are long gone.... This will help with your exhaustion. Just crush it in your hands or chew it up. Be careful of the taste though."
Carter wasn't one to bring up his own children but he felt it the time to. "Both of my boys were quite the characters. One of them was like you, a bit. The other had a very calm head. He could have rivaled even Master Yen Sid, had he been willing to put forth the effort. Unfortunately, they didn't inherit the Patriarchy."

He took the cup and started drinking, not noticing the cup. "I was actually doing a lot of research around that time. Similar to that Ansem person.... I came across Yen Sid when I was on the verge of something. It helped a lot, too. Had to crack a dead language just to finish it."

Carter found it funny and hid his chuckle behind his mug. He very well knew the damage she could do and also knew when it was the right time to push someone's buttons. He sidetracked himself. "Speaking of, remeber when I used to push my student's buttons?" He laughed. "The looks on their faces was great. Of course, the other students snickering probably was bad teaching..."

Kalena sighed remembering rather well
"yeah, I remember. I do the same at times in battle, saying im faster than my opponent, sometimes its true and sometimes not" she shrugged her shoulders.

"So be honest with me, Master Carter, did you come back to watch after your family, as goofy and unorganized but loving and protective as they are or are you here to teach, Jaecen was supposed to be the advanced sparring teacher but lately he's been mostly about family. It took me years to realize what others get so easily, that family is everything."

"No. I'm doing more Grand Master-ish duties. I've made it so there's a portal from the school to my Family home's dojos. I'll pop my head into their classes every now and then. Them, Jaecen and that Tsuyoi lady. She seems very capable. I heard they were engaged, is that correct?" Carter went on.

"Ah, so should I be looking for a new sparring teacher for the academy. I prefer having a sparring teacher on site, and I'd rather not ask Jaster....Kelina's son. Jax, his nobody, another school bully, Jaster though, he's alright, but he wont learn anything new if he's stuck as the teacher."

She though about Tsuyoi and Jaecen, she shrugged her shoulders and went through the school files to learn who they were
