Society is stupid, therefore, we should not associate ourselves with it, and go create the anime/manga society, where the "cool kids" are the people who have the best collections. Our society's "cool kids" are idiots with too much hair gel-at least where I live.

There's levels.
It's like Cosplay. If you do it badly but think you've done it fantastically, you're kinda retarded and everyone skootches away from you. If you've done it badly and you accept that, everyone loves you anyway.
^^; Just a thought. (Though a few girls from my school saw some Cosplay photos of mine, and they were not kind. I think it's cool, but then again I don't go in for the whole "HOMGWEBANISHYOUNOWBECAUSEYOULIKE'insert supposedly uncool thing here'")

Anime is simply another form of image creation. Saying anime is 'nerdy' is like saying film is nerdy. Just because it isn't as reality or physics based all the time changes nothing.
'Cool' is something invented by people who have little to no intellectual capacity. It is decided by the same people. This makes it, of course, irrelevant.
