Hanoi International airport is a cruddy. $5 U.S. for a hamburger was cheapest food in the place.

I was on Malev (the Hungarain Airlines) and the plane was practically an hour late. We boarded the plane and left an hour and a half later. Before that I got on a 5 hour flight to Toronto from 6 in the morning, then waited 8 hours for the Malev to come, which it finnaly did, at midnight. Then I got on a nine hour flight with them, got to Budapest in the morning, and waited an hour to get my luggage because everyone who loaded it off the plane was so slow. Moral: NEVER travel Malev. The food was free, and it should have been that way. I payed for my meal on Air Canada and it was much better.

Never travel on a school trip with the professor's twelve-year-old grandchild.

In this situation, not only was she a spoilt brat that annoyed the hell out of us, but she also stole things from everyone and the professor didn't actually watch her like we thought he should. In other words, he let her be baby-sat by us.

I kept referring to her as the soccer ball for a reason...

Oh good lord, Heathrow Airport. We had to travel through there to get back home and it was just awful on so many levels. Nothing too tremendous, things like lost baggage and the ridiculous amount of time it took to get through security it was incredibly dirty too; needless to say it left a bad taste in my mouth. I understand it's a bit better now.

also we had to stay in this economy hotel while we were in Caen, I think, any way when me and my friend pushed down the sheets of our bed we found HAIR. not just one or to, more like someone had just gotten done shaving on top of it. We ended up having to sleep on the floor because we couldn't find anyone who worked there to complain to.

On a side note, when we watched british television it was strangely very centered on the American economy crisis and the U.S. Presidential elections. Even the local news. I'm not complaining I just found this to be odd.

Unfortunately, even though traveling is a ton of fun for me, I've also had a share of mishaps sad

One time was where our flight was repeatedly delayed for a whole day - we had woken at 5 just so we wouldn't be late, and we ended up staying in the airport for about 10 hours... everyone was really cranky by the end.

Another time was when we brought tennis racquets, and we had looked at the rules and guidelines and everything, and bought some bags just so we could travel with them, and it ended up that the officials still took them away and sent them with us with a different method stressed - that was in China.

Another word of caution: When traveling in China, the food is awesome and everything, but be very careful where you step (a lot of men tend to spit on the streets) and watch out for the bathrooms...

The worst thing that has ever happened to me is I went to a great 4 star resort in Florida that said that it was totally "roach free" and on the night that I left a cockroach came out from behind the toilet when I was doing my business. Then there was one in my bed...
And one in my moms suit case...
I will never go back...

1.) Never cruise with Royal Caribbean cruise lines. The ships are small and the food is bad.

2.) Do not go to the tent market in Nassau, Bahamas expecting to find cheap stuff. They are stingy on their haggling.

3.) When traveling with a large group make sure you use the buddy system, especially in the Grand Canyon...We lost someone for 2 hours...

4.) Don't fly South West airlines. They have a tendency of loosing luggage and not having friendly flight attendants. I suggest taking Aire Tran. It's alot cheaper and the planes are amazing. They come equipped with that satelite radio thing with over 200 channels free of charge on the plane Part of the arm rest).

i flew from detroit to las vegas one summer and man it was a trip.

we got to the airport way earlier then we had to. we went to go through security and there was a huge hold up because a guy like 2 people in front of us got escorted off to go get strip searched (drugs or something) so then everyone was all paranoid. we went to go through security and because of the one guy htey were smelling shampoo and stuff. my shampoo is herbal and stuff so it kinda looks like brown goo and they confinscated it!!

our flight was delayed due to weather and then like the first person to gte on was a little kid who puked all over everything so they made everyone get off so they coiuld clean it.

we were going to las vegas right! okay so it was this dudes 21st birthday and he got plastered on the plane. he got really violent and punched an attendent!!!! when we landed no one could leave until police came and escorted him away.

by this time we missed our cirque du soleil show and our room reservation got canceled so we stayed in some crappy hotels that i swear that was infested with everything you could think off!

after that we got a room ion a decent hotel on the strip and eveyhitng else went fine. the rest of the vavcation seemed boring compared to the first but it was realkly more relaxing.

I will NEVER ride the train from Salt Lake City, Utah to Elko, Nevada again!

You can drive from Salt Lake to Elko in about 3 hours.

The train was a couple hours late getting to the station and took several hours to actually make it to Elko.

Plus the station was in a pretty scary location.

I watched them load the luggage on planes as it was garbage needless to say my lap top didn't do so well!

Which is why you carry your sensitive electronics and breakable stuff in your hand luggage. This is universal among all airlines.

Anamana
Never fly through the Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris if you can help it. It's the worst I've ever been through, worse than the little ghetto ones in small towns.

Which is why you print a map of the terminal and trace your route from the departures to the exit once you get there. I unfortunately absolutely have to go to Charles de Gaulle, because British Airways WILL. NOT. LAND. at Orly. Also, I already know French, so there won't be any troubles ^^

don't leave your car in the parking lot near mexico...bad times!

Which is why, if you have to park your car in Mexico City, you park it at a private parking lot and pay whatever money they charge for keeping it for a day. Even if it's $100, that don't matter. Mexico City is a ******** shithole of crime and they only do cleaning before election day to put up a good name on the political parties, so yeah.

LUL WET.

You had a bad time in Heathrow?

When I did a flight connection at Heathrow back in 2003, it was so fast and so agile we ******** plowed through the airport until we got to the other departure gate in record time!

Oh, and be careful if you have to ride the Mexico City subway. It's nationally famous for its massive crowds that pack the subway so hard you end up getting pushed and shoved around. If you're a girl, make damn sure you ride in the women only cars, otherwise you WILL get groped. I ******** swear it's so famous for its massive crowds and for getting so ******** packed, even those from Guadalajara and Monterrey know them damn well from media portrayals alone. And that's in two cities of four million people compared to a 20-million-people city. Second largest city in the world after Tokyo indeed! gonk

Also, if you're from elsewhere in Mexico and need to go to Mexico City for business, always speak correctly and literately. This will hide your "hayseed" accent and will get you treated with respect.
