Stag Jump had been eager to help when the healer had approached him. Despite being well-traveled, Stag knew very little about plants and their various properties. He was aware that many plants were edible, though some plants were only edible once. Still, if he could help Salvation and by extension the rest of the Court, he would.
Anything to take his mind off of the pressing anxiety building in his chest. The anxiety caused by the fact that only one of his daughters had returned from her adventure. Hera returned to the Court and explained that where Leaping Faith had journeyed, she had also been trapped. Hera didn't know when the Veil might open again. Stag Jump was sick with worry. Maybe along his way to help the healer, he might find an herb to heal his own anxiety... If such a thing were even possible. (WC: 146) (Total WC: 146)

Stag Jump was being careful not to put his mouth on any herb he came across in his search. Now that Leaping Faith was gone until who knew when, he needed to make sure that nothing happened to him. So long as it helped his family!

Stag Jump had found all of three plants so far and he had a good feeling about them. They were pretty plants, all with nice looking flowers. The tall plant he was digging up now was no different. He certainly had a theme, but he was beginning to wonder if all the flowers he was digging up would have any actual use to Salvation, beyond just looking nice. Maybe he'd better start mixing it up.

Stag Jump was perfectly peeved when the chittering beastie tracking him had ended up snatching two of his prized plants! That's what he got for only digging up the most lovely of flowers, he supposed. Glowering down at the herb that was left behind, he debated leaving it out of spite, but... No, it was best that he press on. Who knew if this new plant would be any good. He couldn't turn around now and go home to sulk just because of a sour encounter.
Still, he resolved to keep his ears out for any more chittering.

Blast that creature! If Stag Jump found that squirrel or raccoon or whatever it was around him again, he was going to kill it! He was no manner of hunter, but great goodness, he was steaming when he discovered the two remaining herbs in his sack. All of that hard work and now he only had purple flowers that he'd just dug up.
Not these. He thought, growling at the bushes nearby. No one is getting these purple flowers.

Three steps, growl, three steps, growl, three steps: finally, he found another plant. Keeping the bag close to him and giving another growl and looking around, he finally began to dig up the plant. Hopefully this one would be especially useful to Salvation and the rest of the pack.

It took him a while, but Stag Jump finally loosened up after he started digging out his second plant, since the thefts occurred. He was filling his sack again and had been able to rationalize that anything would be better than nothing. Even if the chittering beast returned, he would just keep working on gathering the plants he could find all the same. He would do whatever he could to help his pack... to ensure that when she returned, Faith would have a proper, healthy pack to return home to.
