Hima let out a biting laugh at her daughter's words. Let it go? When had she ever done a silly thing like that? No, she would remember how he had turned from her to the end of her days, even if he did apologize later. Hima wasn't the type to forgive and forget.
"Perhaps he will," she said with a little sneer before turning to leave as well. Now that the meeting was over she saw no reason to remain. Moving by Kawai she did let her tail curl around the blue lioness' paws to quietly thank her, knowing that she had hurt her in the not too distant past.
Kawai, for her part, let her mother go without a fuss. She knew better than to try to stand against her. Hima had lived most of her life as a rogue, after all, and Kawai had been raised here in the Bahari. While Hima was a spitfire and a fighter, Kawai was perfect beach bum pacifist if there ever was one. She stood no chance against someone like Hima.
She did turn to follow her, though, deciding it was best to leave the gathering as well. Everything that had been said wouldn't change by them lingering. She didn't follow too closely to her mother although it was clear she was following the white lioness, footsteps nearly falling into place with her mother's.
---
Letting out a slow breath, Shio held his ground to ensure those that had come were going to depart and those that wished to join them went peacefully. He then turned to head back to Kelpie, relieved that her mother would be allowed to stay without fuss. That made this easier to swallow even though he still felt badly for those that would have to leave eventually. Now that the Kizi were temporarily not an option, he was sure the pride would be anxious about where it was they would be able to go.
"Come, Kelpie. We should go," he said once he reached the lioness again, bowing his head to bump his nose against hers. "It seems our worries for the time being are unfounded since your mother will get to stay. Now it's just a matter of what lies in store for those who still will be affected by the enforcing of the old law." He lifted his head once more to try to see where Shui had gone, but the group of lions had already disappeared. With a flick of his tail he shifted to being walking again, looking to do the same. There was no reason to stay here any longer.

Burny nuzzled close to Anya, he felt afraid for himself, for her. This pride was supposed to be home, their haven. It was supposed to be a place of peace and love and yet it seemed all had gone sideways.
He gave a nod to his mate and moved with her from the meeting. He hoped things would settle soon. He could see how heavily this weighed on Anyas mind and he didn’t want to see her upse, or afraid. It hurt him down to his very soul that his beautiful lady could be so affected by the prides mood swing.
“It’ll be okay Anya, it’ll be okay.” He smiled, pressing himself tightly against her taking her back to their den. He hoped this storm would pass quickly. There was nothing in this world he hated more than his lady not smiling happily.
——
Kelpie nudged Shio as he returned for her. She was more than happy that he was back. She gave a nod. She was happy there would be no repercussions at least for th moment for her mother but she had a feeling that the scathing words of those few, very traditional members would not go away.
She felt tired. The pride she had been born in to that had accepted her, the sea that had finally embraced her, the life she wanted so desperately to build with Shio, would it all collapse around them? These were fears she really didn’t want to voice.
Pressing herself against her mate she followed him from the meeting, quiet and contemplative. She truly hoped this would be a temporary state of affairs.

Anya smiled shakily at his words, nodding and keeping close as she walked beside him. She hoped he was right, and that things would calm down soon. Perhaps, once things had settled, the natural routine would fall back into place.
With a sigh, the brown lioness wondered if anything good would come of this. Probably not, but who knows. She cast a look up at the sky, wistfully wishing she could see into the future.
But that was an impossible dream. All she could do was work to keep things livable for everyone in the now. So while Burny was hoping things would settle down for her, Anya had made up her mind that she would do what she could to help.
Twining her tail with his, she followed her mate away from the meeting.
