I can't actually do that last one. Didn't get anyone I could practice those techniques on." However, her mistake, while acknowledged, didn't seem to faze her at all because she went right on to say, "I don't know if it's my place to suggest this, but I think it'll be best if I'm not expected to fight during our match. First of all, it's unfair if I fight because then we'll have a 3 v. 2. Second of all, I don't like to fight. I'm quite bad at it, and losing always feels terrible. I'd much prefer if you'd permit me to just spectate from the back, where I can assist you with various supports." The way she phrased it was weird, and terribly open to misunderstandings. However, the key to understanding Xion was that her definition of "fight," at this moment, was very narrow. To her right now, fighting only referred to direct combat. Everything else, which was everything she could possibly provide to her teammate anyways, was what Xion intended to contribute to the match. To the blind maid, it made sense, and as socially inept as she was, she had failed to see how her words could confuse others.

Blind Resolution Personal Attribute [ Xion was born blind, a curse placed upon her for her parents' faults. For that reason, she will never experience sight. No ocular implant can restore her vision and even genjutsu cannot imitate the sensation of sight for her. In exchange, being blind has rewired Xion's brain to enhance her other senses, primarily the ability for her hearing and chakra sensing to pick out minute details (but not necessarily an increase in what both senses pick up) but also her smell and even touch to gather what little details they can. Chet and his gang of monkeys left the resort after proctors showed up to tell him the match would be beginning as soon as the contestants showed up to the designated area. Chet realized he left most of his ninja items in his pants back in the forest and would need them for the fight. After him and his monkeys went back to retrieve his pants he put them on and left for the match area.

After securing a room, he'd taken a stroll down to the library for scrolls and went back to his room to place his stuff down and meditate. Opening a scroll and reading he closed it just as quickly. Had it been more difficult perhaps it would have taken some time for him to perform, however it was a simple maneuver involving water manipulation. Next he poured through a technique he hadn't the time to look at in the past. The manipulation process was familiar, however the application was somewhat foreign. Hideo sat and worked on water manipulation first and foremost, particularly pulling water from the air. [Water Shuriken technique] 1/3

She would continue to the resort's library and looked high and low for information on Fire. Her interest was in a very basic technique: Rank E. A jutsu designed to temporarily disrupt the vision of her opponents. Like a camera flash, but with human hands, and all to render annoying specks on one's vision. However, based on the reading, the move would only seem to be effective in a close range. [1/2]
The scroll, having reviewed the only one she wanted, was rolled up and returned. Unki was certain to return to work. A moment was spent on focusing her energy on her palms. Feeling fired up, the girl would form a seal before readying the inital clap that should spark the light. CLAP! The clamor from her hands smacking together formed a bright light that she didn't expect on her first try. She blinked a few times as her sights would follow the set of spots in her vision. Kisuke listened to Xion explain what she did, so all he had to do was make sure to touch her before they actually start the battle. She was a someone who could buff her allies. He supposed that would be a good compliment to his abilities."If you'd like after our battle is over, you can practice on me." Of course at that point they would be probably just rivals in the exams. But Kisuke would still help her.Kisuke listened to her speak about the battle and her not actually participating in the battle.Kisuke tilted his head slightly at her but of course, she couldn't see that."Well, the exams consider my partner and me as a single entity, it would still be 2v2. But I understand your reasons, I will do everything in my power to defend you and defeat our opponents. So I will happily accept your full support."Kisuke reached for her hand."Come, it's time for us to get to our arena. I'll lead you there." If there were no complaints, then Kisuke would begin to lead them towards thier battle area.

The time was now. The time for the exams, that is. Kagerou, who had been thinking, returned to earth when she noticed from the clock that the exams were going to start soon. Her resolved reinforced and her angst either resolved or receded, Kagerou stood up from her seat. She gave the clock an emotionless stare as her mind tried to figure out what it should be feeling. In the end, it settled with the familiar: a smile. Her lips curved upwards into a content expression as she turned to look at Yuna. "Come on," Kagerou motioned for Yuna to follow as she walked out the library, "Let's go to the exam location."
It was hard to explain everything that Kagerou thought about between finishing her cramming and leaving the library. It was even harder to explain how it had all managed to help her. Obviously, being able to train helped to relieve pent-up stress. Time allso played a big part of it. All wounds heal with time, and Kagerou was particularly adept at healing her emotional wounds. However, everything Kagerou had been exposed to since the incident could not be understated either. It was just small things, like how she didn't have a moment to breathe amidst keeping up with the activity of others or chatting with a teammate from another village, but the small things taught Kagerou that the world moved on, and she could either choose to stagnate or go with the flow. Of course, between the two, the only option Kagerou would even consider was the latter. She didn't need someone to tell her that moping and doing nothing in the name of grieving for the dead was a stupid and self-destructive choice.
Of course, that wasn't to say Kagerou was back to her old self. She had changed, that much could not be denied, but also, like with many other things in life, just because she was over with a problem didn't mean she had solved it either. Even now, while feeling normal, Kagerou felt like she needed help. Now wasn't the time to get that help, of course, so she simply focused on the present rather than wallowing in the past.

(Post-acceptance note: I just realized that there is an Evergreen religion in this guild. I did not mean for this to be a religious PA in any way. It's just botany. I hope that's not a problem.)
Tsumetai [ Cold to the Touch ]: The skin of each Shinsetsu clan member is chilled; producing a refreshing, almost intoxicating aura. This aura does not stretch far from one's person, and only the Shinsetsu and those in direct contact with him/her can truly appreciate the feeling. Because of this attribute, humidity is a foreign concept to the Shinsetsu, and only the most extreme of heats will cause those within tsumetai's effect to break a sweat. Additionally, this consistent cold has weathered their skin and innards, providing an internal and external resistance to freezing temperatures. Although not exactly topical, it should be noted that thanks to their relaxing aura, the Shinsetsu are considered some of the most desirable lovers in the world.

Kanzaki and the pile of dead weight that Shiro had been came blurring in to sight at the edge of land nearest the docks, dropping his cargo at his feet before the dust even settled, coughing. It looked like he had discovered a limit to his Body Flicker, so he'd keep that in mind for the future, if that was the only thing he'd learned during this exam. The docks were in rough shape. Entire sections of it were missing or reduced to splinters floating in the bloody waters. The formerly pristine waters had been tainted by streams of blood and puddles of what looked to be oil. In addition to unidentifiable animal carcasses, the odd human hand or foot could be seen. Of the two ships that the examinees had come in on, one was lying on its side, covered in the carcass of a great bird.
The nearest proctor was someone who looked and smelled like a local of the fishing village from the first round, but Kanzaki would not recognize him. He was lightly injured, but at Kanzaki's greeting, would form a hand seal and raise a stone path toward the only remaining ship.

The island was engulfed in a haze as the proctors debated whether or not they should leave or wait for more evacuees, at which point it was unanimously decided the boat would shove off. A few of the proctors stayed behind out of a sense of duty, but there was no fanfare for their heroics as the ship proceeded into the fog bank surrounding the island. Oddly, from a distance, the island still looked almost pristine, like someone could take a good dustpan and clean the place up in a day or two, strange haze notwithstanding.
Cool and collected, Kagerou reached the resort building unscathed. Everything considered, this wasn't the worst she had been through, and it made her wonder, . The building looked abandoned, as she had hoped. Surely, anyone with enough sense would have made their way straight to the docks. It was just that Kagerou worried even for those without much sense or those who had other reasons for being at the resort even this late into the evacuation.
With the island steadily sinking, Kagerou didn't have much time to linger here. However, she wasn't going to just look and leave. That would completely nullify her whole reason for making this detour. In the loudest shout she could muster, she called out, "HELLO. ANYONE THERE?!" then remained completely silent for a response.

Plants cultivated by Kagerou grow as if the soil they are nourished by is +1 grade higher than it actually is. Unfertilized soil yields crops in 2 rl weeks. Low-grade fertilizer yields crops in 1 week. High-grade fertilizer reaches a new level of fast and yields crops in 4 days. (Post-acceptance note: I just realized that there is an Evergreen religion in this guild. I did not mean for this to be a religious PA in any way. It's just botany. I hope that's not a problem.)
