Had he not been distracted with another task, perhaps Titaia would not have had the chance to run into him, headfirst. Perhaps Xipil was merely off his game, his training regime had slacked as of late with all of the changes and -

His head turned, blue eyes blinking as he registered who had run into him.

"Ah," he said, choosing to chew over his words and response. "There appeared to be a contest of sorts, I was intrigued."

Vatra couldn't help it. She practically puffed with pride, her grin broadening. "I'm Vatra, ma'am." She was already looking forward to the bragging rights that this would bring. And if the right people were impressed...well. That would be pretty damn great.

[Excited Apathy]

Nuria was not quite convinced that the Regent wasn't hiding in the Training Grounds. Lions came and went here all the time for spars and duels, and it was entirely feasible for Agni-parishka to lose herself amidst those that weren't in on the game. But Nuria wasn't catching sight of the Regent, nor anyone else of particular interest to her. She was growing tempted to move on to a different area.

Deeming the Hongshan Quarter unlikely to hold the Regent, Mkazo shifted his search to the Sandstorm Refuge. It was possible that she was hiding in the large cave... Despite his lack of success so far, he was enjoying himself. Things had been far too quiet of late, even with the shifts that the change of Regents had brought. This was a welcome change of pace.

After her stop at the oasis turned up nothing more useful than a drink, Tim-timana decided to backtrack to the sandstorm refuge in case their Regent thought it would be clever to hide where everyone had started. It wasn't what she would have done, personally, but then again, this was not something she would ever orchestrate in a million years, and it seemed increasingly absurd the longer she was at it.

There was little of interest in the refuge, however, besides other searchers milling about. The soldier huffed in annoyance.

After stumbling into the Regent's mother rather than the Regent, Psyche had given up on the oasis - rather too soon as it would turn out - and made her way back across the training grounds and to the barracks. It seemed a sensible place to hide, but it was also quite empty aside from the former Huria and a couple of other searchers. The lioness sighed, increasingly disappointed in spite of that fact that she wasn't actively looking to impress anyone. Or was she?

She shook her head in a futile effort to shake off the notion.

The Guard smiled at her daughter. She had been found twice already - which was probably why she was here as a distraction for the seekers. She simply hadn't expected Agni to be one of those!

"It seems you have, my dear," the older lioness replied happily. "But has anyone managed to track you down yet?" Lumatha knew she should probably move on, if only to offer separate targets to the game-players, but she did want to catch up with her daughter a bit first. Since they had the chance.

She watched the sand settling...of course! The Training Grounds were a very good place to look for the Regent! Agni-pariksha had been in the army, so it was a very logical place for her to be spending her time. After all, this game was mostly for the Soldiers to seek advancement and prestige. Eish was just playing because it was fun.

However, the grounds appeared to be deserted of Regents, simply hosting others who were also seeking Agni-pariksha. Had the wind betrayed her, or was there a deeper purpose to her being here?

Ruber heard a noise behind him, the sound of another lion entering the Refuge. Whirling around, the male turned to confront the other lion. It was...another male. So definitely not Agni-pariksha.

"She's not here," he growled at the other, annoyance clear in his voice.

His search took him to the Hongshan Quarter next, but though the sand had clearly been muddled by many footprints, he couldn't say for certain whether any of those paws had belonged to the Regent. Huozin sighed. Clearly this game was more difficult than he had thought.

Still, if he didn't allow himself to be frustrated, he'd be fine. It wasn't every day most of the pride was invited to play a game that didn't involve any bleeding or bruising.

Nothing. Ud shook his head a bit to clear any sand from his mane before deciding to move on once again. He took his time walking, making sure to keep his eyes open. This time he headed for the sandstorm refuse. There were lots of places to hide there, surely the Regent would have tried to stick herself into one of those holes.

As he approached he noticed a few other lions in the area. He didn't bother talking to them though. He seemed to be the only adolescent present and he was sure none of them would want to team up with him. Not only that, but he wanted to do this on his own. Surely it would be more impressive if he found her by himself!

Menkar decided doubling back would be a good idea. Just because the Regent hadn't been there earlier didn't mean she wouldn't be there now! The starry male made his way with a hum back the way he had come, poking his nose here and there within the refuse. Didn't seem like she had come by, although the paw prints in the sand and a few other lions close by let him know that others had the same idea.
