☆ ☆【 Chrysa listened to the exchange between Bastien and Roxas, the latter seeming to accept the former’s argument that he wasn’t apologizing just because she was a celebrity, sort of. She stated that she didn’t need his life’s story and to quit with the sappy talk as she waved off his apology, and reminded him to call her by name instead of addressing her as Ms. Noskovi. The redhead raised an eyebrow, Noiz, huh? Quite an interesting alias, she had to admit, it seemed quite fitting for the blonde much like how Chrysa herself used ‘Gizmo’ as a nickname for herself. Bastien didn’t seem to appreciate the rudeness Roxas was spouting his way, puffing out his cheeks as he begrudgingly agreed to stop calling her by ‘Ms. Noskovi’. Chrysa caught the sly grin on her green-haired friend’s face before he looked away, going so far as to address her as ‘Roxie-poo’, to which the redhead couldn’t help but giggle at as she hid her grin behind a hand. Her attention then turned towards Sawa as the Tyrogue approached Siren, likely to apologize to her for being disrespectful towards her during their battle. She wasn’t quite certain of what was being said, though from the annoyed expression on Roxas’ face she clearly didn’t like what she was hearing all that much. However, her annoyance changed quickly to confusion, before Sawa seemed to give up on whatever it was he was doing as he retreated to the other side of the room and distracted himself with a magazine. Bastien remarked on the Tyrogue’s trouble with female Pokemon, to which Roxas asked if he had Tourettes or something along those lines. Chrysa supposed that she couldn’t blame the Tyrogue, knowing that there were plenty of boys who wouldn’t know first thing of what to do when it came to girls, or were just nervous in the presence of women in general.
Regina couldn’t help but chuckle and smile to herself, finding Sawa’s gibberish speech quite endearing to be honest. Even Siren seemed amused by the Tyrogue’s antics, the Milotic cracking a smile and giggling softly to herself. The Mega Lopunny then addressed her, trying to give the shy giant some words of encouragement, some sort of wise advice that would hopefully help her in the long run. The Milotic seemed to understand and take her words to heart, though Regina noticed Siren’s fidgeting at the mention of true beauty. She quirked a brow curiously as the Milotic seemed to mutter something, before thanking her for the words of wisdom as she stared at the floor, glancing up only briefly to meet the Mega Lopunny’s gaze. This girl had some serious self-confidence issues, she could tell, though she wasn’t entirely certain of why… Nonetheless, Regina flashed her a good-natured smile in return. ” You’re quite welcome, dearie~ Always willing to help out a fellow female,” she offered with a nod, before turning her attention towards Sawa, who was reading a women’s fashion magazine of all things. The Lopunny quirked an eyebrow at that, taking the opportunity to make a light-hearted quip towards the Tyrogue about his strange taste in reading material. Siren seemed to fidget even more, insisting that the Mega Lopunny not tease him since Sawa clearly felt awful enough as it stood. Regina gave her a questioning look, though gave a small smile as the Milotic went on to say that she knew the Mega Lopunny hadn’t meant anything by it and apologizing. ” Oh no, it’s quite alright, really! I didn’t mean any offense, I was only trying to lighten the mood, he seems rather tense don’t you think?” she responded, giving a light smile as Sawa responded to her joking comment as he said that he loved reading up on the latest sports news. Regina resisted the urge to point out that he was actually reading a women’s magazine, glancing over as Siren made her way over towards the Tyrogue, coiling around his chair and trying to make small talk with him. It didn’t seem to be going very well, however, as Siren’s nerves got the better of her, and Sawa seemed a bit adverse to her being so close to him as he told her to not mess with him and asking if she was just making fun of him. The Mega Lopunny’s brow furrowed in concern, and was prepared to walk over there and try to put this dilemma to rest before it possibly spiraled out of control.
Chrysa gave a small smile as she watched the scene, feeling glad that the skittish Milotic was trying to break out from her comfort zone as she tried to give Sawa some company. Her shyness seemed rather familiar, and she had the signs of abused Pokemon written all over her… The redhead had spent much of her time working alongside her grandma with rehabilitating abandoned and abused Pokemon, and Siren’s disposition seemed fairly similar to that of Kyan’s in its earlier stages. Chrysa frowned slightly at the thought, wondering who would be so cruel as to abuse such a beautiful creature like the Milotic. It really was quite a shame that there were people out there who mistreated their Pokemon so badly… If anything, at least Roxas seemed like she was trying to help the Milotic with building up confidence and learning how to interact comfortably with other people and Pokemon. For now though, she turned her attention towards Roxas as the blonde called her out on not being from Kalos, and in all honesty she had hit the nail right on the head. Chrysa couldn’t help but be amused by Roxas calling her ‘ginger’, answering her statement with a ‘Blondie’ quip of her own thrown into the mix. After spending years being picked on and teased for her ridiculously long name, the paraplegic redhead had developed a way of dealing with offensive comments and teasing remarks sent towards her. While there were some things here and there that could really annoy or piss her off like being called a ‘cripple’, Chrysa tended to simply take such comments in stride and go with the flow, even slinging back some witty quips of her own as a way of reciprocating. She grinned widely as Roxas said that she’d heard of Mossdeep, asking about the space station they had there. ” Oh yeah, definitely~ The Mossdeep Space Station was always my favorite hangout spot,” she said with a nod. If her happy place could be defined as a singular location on a map of the entire world itself, the Mossdeep Space Station would definitely be it. Some of the people she’d known had never understood her fascination with the place, since she was always so eager to go there whenever she had free time for herself. Surely it would get boring to just visit the same place over and over again, right? Chrysa didn’t think so, she’d been to the place a thousand times before, and she would keep visiting the Space Station until the day she died.
” I mean, the space and science stuff there is cool and all, but I’m more interested in the tech, to be honest~” she added with a chuckle, before going on to finally introduce herself. Chrysa quirked an eyebrow at Roxas’s ‘Gesundheit’ comment in response to her name, before laughing in response. ” Y’know, I think ya should take up a new job, ya’d make a great up and coming comedy act,” she commented with a grin, knowing that Roxas didn’t mean any offense, at least she thought so… She listened as Roxas commented on her name, saying that she thought Noskovi had been a mouthful to say and that Chrysa had her sympathies. ” Sentiment’s much appreciated, Rox,” she responded with a small smile and a grateful nod, hoping that the woman wouldn’t mind the new nickname too much, ” I’ve long since come to accept my name as it is, ridiculousness and all~ But thanks, nonetheless, at least Noskovi isn’t as much of a pain to spell out completely as Chrysanthemum~” However, she couldn’t help but blush heatedly at Roxas’ comment concerning the ‘lovers’ quarrel’ she would likely have with Bastien to see who would fight her first. Even though she felt that Roxas was only poking fun, as she apparently did on a regular basis, Chrysa still felt a bit embarrassed as she recalled the scenario in Santalune City when she and Bastien had arrived while holding hands. Surely no one thought that they were seriously a couple, right? She had only come to meet Bastien for the first time just the other day, for Palkia’s sake! They were pretty close friends, at least she thought so, but they weren’t that close, right?
Thankfully Bastien had been too busy fiddling around with his Pokedex to notice the ‘lovers’ quarrel’ comment, and Chrysa couldn’t help but giggle in amusement as Spice got into Bastien’s snacks as he pulled out a chocolate-covered Azurill from his bag. She grimaced slightly as Spice belched up a shimmering stone of some sort, before evolving suddenly into a Marill just after Roxas asked if he wasn’t sure that the blue mouse wasn’t a Munchlax in disguise. ” Yeesh, must be some mighty potent stuff you’re packing there, Bass~” Chrysa said lightly with a grin, finding it rather interesting that the Azurill had evolved by eating a bunch of chocolate. Bastien seemed pretty miffed that Spice had eaten his snacks as he returned the newly evolved Marill to her ball, though Chrysa assured him that they could pick up more on the way out if needed. She smiled as Bastien gave her a wide grin, saying that it wasn’t anything to worry about since they could just eat later. He then went on to explain the reason behind Sawa’s nervousness around female Pokemon, apparently the Tyrogue had had a crush on a Mienfoo that belonged to Bastien’s neighbor. Unfortunately, the feeling wasn’t mutual, and she shot him down faster than a falling Boldore when he had admitted his love to her. Apparently he had been so shaken by the Mienfoo’s rejection that he became a bit of a recluse when it came to girls, which would explain his nervous antics around them, at least outside of battle. Noticing Sawa’s reaction to Siren’s presence when she had come over to provide him some company, Bastien returned the Tyrogue to his ball, assuring the Milotic that they’d have plenty of opportunities to talk later and that dealing with girls wasn’t one of Sawa’s particular areas of expertise. Chrysa gave Siren a sympathetic smile, feeling that the Milotic had at least tried to make an effort despite how timid she was. ” You’ll have plenty of chances to get to know him, don’t worry~” she tried to assure the large serpentine Pokemon with a warm smile.
When she then went on to invite Roxas to join their little adventuring party, the blonde didn’t seem adverse to the idea as she mentioned that she had been planning to head out for Camphrier soon too. At the question of when they were planning to head out, Chrysa made to answer the blonde, but Bastien already had it covered as he said he was ready to go, though they needed to make a quick stop at the electronics store across the street. Chrysa grinned and nodded in agreement as he went on to say that the sooner they got to training, the better. ” Heh, yeah~ Got quite a bit to do before we start thinking about battling Grant in Cyllage!” she added with a chuckle, glancing over towards Roxas, ” Nonetheless, glad to have ya with us, Rox~ Y’know what they always say, the more the merrier, right?” She could already feel that things were certainly going to get interesting from here on out, with the new addition to their little traveling party in the form of Roxas. ” Anyways, we should probably start heading over to that store so we can get what we need~ Ain’t getting anywhere fast by just dilly-dallying about, hm?” she suggested with a grin, nodding towards the door. The sooner they got on the road to Camphrier, the sooner they would be able to train up before taking on Grant. 】☆ ☆

Having expected everything to proceed as normal, Bastien found himself quite shocked at the sudden chill in the air. Siren obviously didn't believe him, no matter how true it was. While Bass couldn't understand the Milotic, he could tell how irate she was. Chrysa's assurance went to waste as Roxas seemed to try and calm down Siren to no avail; something was very amiss with the poor sea serpent. They were creating quite a scene... As soon as the chill faded, Bastien let his guard down a little. Was this Sawa's fault? Or did Siren have some sort of deep emotional scar? Quietly, the green-haired trainer's face hardened, his expression quite grim and serious. Any way he looked at it, the incident was his fault. Pokemon could truly be very fragile creatures... Yet at the same time, they were extremely dangerous. He detested his own lack of control, his inability to properly discipline his Pokemon. His optimistic nature faltered for just a moment, but Bastien refused to let it get to him too much. "Maybe we should sort that out the next chance we get."

Before that, however, they had to get Chrysa's Holocaster. "O-oh... Just a few things. Let's go then, yeah?" Flashing a tiny smile, Bastien turned and exited the Pokecenter, heading right across the street. The electronics store was hard to miss, what with the brightly-colored flashing lights and such. He was sure that even if Chrysa and Roxas weren't right behind him, they could certainly catch up and find their way. Bastien took a deep breath to calm himself a little... That was quite a tricky situation to deal with. If they were going to stick together, then he certainly needed to work on helping his Pokemon to stop being so fussy. They were very far from a professional team, that much was certain. Sawa and his girl problems, Suite and her tendency to show off too much, Bita's irrational anger... He quite suddenly felt like a father. Pondering that for a moment, Bastien wondered if this was how his dad felt while raising him alongside so many of his own Pokemon.

He snapped his fingers then, realizing that there was something he could pick up at the electronics store. Walking inside, Bastien browsed the shelves. A camera might have been a good investment, so that he could capture certain memories. Plus, Viola inspired him to try and take a few pictures of his Pokemon during a battle. Not that he was going to try and become a professional photographer, or anything! Tossing out Suite, Bastien decided to get an expert opinion. "Hey, Suite, which of these cameras do you think is the coolest?" There were all sorts, each shaped and colored differently. Both Bass and his Jigglypuff looked up at all of them behind their glass display cases. Suite hopped up then, pointing at a very flamboyant pink camera that was obviously meant for a small girl. "...Let's try and find one that won't make me look like a pretty princess, okay?" Bastien expressed his disapproval, shaking his head and growing more and more embarrassed as Suite pointed to all of the girly cameras. "I-I don't think you're quite getting it!" The two continued to browse, with Bastien looking for a decently-average camera while Suite kept picking all the flashy, glittery ones.

☆ ☆【 Chrysa couldn’t help but snicker a little at Bastien’s new apparent nickname for Roxas, calling her ‘Roxie-poo’ as he insisted that she wouldn’t be hearing anymore sappy talk from him. Of course, as someone who had been raised and taught to be polite and respectful towards anyone and everyone he met, it was understandable that it was his go-to method right off the bat. Roxas, of course, clearly had different morals and values, saying for him to not take it personally but his mannerisms didn’t line up with hers. Treating everyone with respect and human decency all sounded good, but in practice it was more or less an invitation to let everyone else walk all over you. The blonde woman said that people only got her respect when they earned it, scoffing in response. From the looks of it, Bastien was more of an optimist, someone who always tried to look on the bright side of any situation, whereas Roxas was a pessimist, which was pretty much the polar opposite. In some respect, Chrysa agreed with Roxas, knowing that being nice to everyone was only giving them the opportunity to take advantage of your kindness, but at the same time being polite and treating others with respect was a good value to have. Maybe there was a way to balance the two out to create some sort of equilibrium… Well, their group was already turning out to be truly interesting, Chrysa had to admit that much. With a green-haired effeminate boy, a red-headed aspiring inventor who was also a paraplegic, and a blonde programmer and musician with quite the reputation between them, they were quite the ragtag bunch of misfits if she thought so herself. Not that it was necessarily a bad thing, right? No one said that variety wasn’t good in some respects.
Regina gave a nod as Siren seemed to understand that she hadn’t meant any kind of offense towards Sawa with her comment, she had only been trying to offer a way to lighten up the atmosphere. The Milotic agreed on her statement of the Tyrogue being rather tense, and went to try to make amends with Sawa as he sat there reading what he had said was sports but was actually a women’s fashion magazine. However, it didn’t seem to be going well at all, as Siren continued to stumble over her words, which only seemed to agitate Sawa further as he demanded to know if she was making fun of him. Siren winced and tried to explain herself, Regina frowning as she made to go over and try to put a stop to the situation before it got too out of hand. However, the Mega Lopunny paused as she heard Bastien’s explanation as to why Sawa acted so strangely around girls. It seemed that a childhood crush, someone’s Mienfoo who happened to be Bastien’s next door neighbor, had rejected the Tyrogue so hard when he had admitted to having a crush on her that it left him shaken and unable to interact too well with female Pokemon. Regina raised an eyebrow at this, wondering who in the world would reject someone like Sawa. Even if he was small, since he was still technically a ‘baby’ Pokemon, the Tyrogue was quite strong and more than capable of pulling his own weight in battle from what she’d seen. And the Mega Lopunny rather liked that quality of him, despite his gynophobia and his tendency to crank out nonsense when he got really nervous, but it was just more of him to adore than anything else. Besides, it seemed that Bastien was already resolving the situation, making up excuses like Sawa being affected by Siren’s Cute Charm before returning the Tyrogue to his ball.
While this was happening, Chrysa let Bastien take care of the dilemma while she spoke with Roxas, saying that the Mossdeep Space Center had always been her favorite hang-out spot and how she enjoyed the technology moreso than the science and space stuff. Roxas agreed, saying that the Space Center’s tech was pretty nice and that she may have borrowed some of it for Cypher. Chrysa quirked an eyebrow at that as the blonde coughed and looked away with a sheepish smile and a shifty look in her eyes, wondering if that was her way of admitting that she had hacked into the Space Center’s database or something like that. Of course, not that the redhead wasn’t without her own share of shifty endeavors, she HAD snuck into the boiler room of the ship she’d taken here of her own accord just to get a look at the tech they had to offer. She had her own ways of getting into places where most others with any kind of common sense would think twice about, then again, she would do anything if it meant getting her hands on some mechanical equipment for the sake of research and learning. She wouldn’t go so far as to stoop down to being a criminal, per se, but… Enough about that, she focused her attention back on the conversation as she finally introduced herself, chuckling when Roxas made a ‘Gesundheit’ comment as a way of teasing when she mentioned her full name. Roxas laughed as Chrysa went on to suggest that she take up a new job as a comedian, saying that she’d do it if the redhead became her partner in crime since she was pretty damn funny herself. ” Heh, maybe I just might take ya up on that offer~” she responded with a cheeky grin and a wink. She had to admit, her punky, pessmimistic mannerisms aside, Roxas was actually a pretty cool person, like someone she could spend almost all day shooting witty remarks and teasing comments back and forth without worry of offending the other.
Of course, Chrysa appreciated it when Roxas gave her sympathies for her long and ridiculous name, but the redhead had long since come to accept her name. Even if people at school had given her plenty of hell time and time again for the sheer ridiculousness of her long name, Chrysa had learned to just shake it off and simply take it in stride. So what if her name was long and hard to spell? It was what made her Chrysanthemum, and as much as she wished that she had a more normal-sounding name, it was because her name was so unique and that it represented her as a person that she learned to love it. After all, if she wasn’t Chrysanthemum, then who else would she be? Even Roxas seemed glad that Chrysa had learned to accept her name as it was, before the redhead turned her attention towards Siren and Sawa as Bastien took care of the situation. The poor Milotic seemed to wilt like a dying flower when Bastien returned his Tyrogue, the boy apologizing and trying to assure her that she and Sawa would get the chance to talk later. Chrysa couldn’t help but feel a tug at her heartstrings, Siren was practically in tears as she slunk her way back over to Roxas, the blonde trying to console the serpentine Pokemon while the redhead tried to offer some reassurance. However, it seemed that Siren refused to believe what anyone told her, no matter how they tried to assure her, and she even seemed to throw a bit of a temper tantrum as she seemed to glare towards Roxas. The Milotic’s sudden shift in mood seemed to trigger a release of a minor Blizzard attack, Chrysa wrapping her arms around herself as protection from the cold as the room froze up for a moment or two. It was clear that Siren was angry, and even though Chrysa couldn’t hear exactly what the Milotic was saying, it was clear that she was in need of help. She wasn’t entirely certain of what Siren’s history was, but she knew an abused Pokemon when she saw one. Siren’s case seemed exceptionally bad, and it might take quite some time and a lot of patience to be able to do anything that could help her in any way. Even Roxas was caught off guard by the Milotic’s sudden outburst, and reluctantly returned Siren to her ball once the chill died out and the room thawed. Chrysa cast a worried glance towards Roxas, but nodded in agreement as Bastien suggested that they figure it out the next chance they got. Trying to lighten up the atmosphere, Chrysa focused on her green-haired friend’s suggestion to stop by the electronics store as she wholeheartedly agreed with the proposal. Roxas was curious as to what they needed from there, Bastien quickly answering that they only needed a few things. ” Yeah, might as well get ‘em while we’re here, might be a while before we step foot in Lumiose again~” Chrysa input with a grin, nodding as Bastien suggested that they get going. Kicking her wheelchair into gear, the redhead gladly followed after her green-haired friend out of the Pokemon Center and towards the electronics store, which was certainly not hard to miss with its flamboyant display of flashing lights and whatnot. Bastien seemed to be in deep thought the whole way there, as if something was troubling him, though his seemed to have an idea as he snapped his fingers in an ‘Ah ha!’ kind of way.
Entering the electronics store, Chrysa grinned towards Roxas as she made her way around, browsing the shelves for a Holo Caster. ” I’ve been meaning to get one of these Holo Casters for the sake of modifying and repurposing it, a bit of a minor project, y’know?” she said, examining one of the little devices she had picked off of the shelf. She wasn’t looking for anything particularly fancy, like one of the customized ones Bastien had told her about. As long as the Holo Caster was functional and in great working condition, she could certainly work with it. ” You’re an expert programmer when it comes to these types of things, right, Rox?” she asked, hoping that what she had heard about Roxas being some sort of programming guru was indeed right, ” Mayhaps ya’d help me out on this a bit? I’m good with mechanics n’ machine structure, but programming ain’t one of my areas of expertise. I’d imagine this thing’ll need quite a bit of reprogramming for what it might be repurposed for…” Although, she wasn’t entirely certain of what she would want to repurpose a Holo Caster to do. She had been thinking of modifying it so that it could project more complete and more ‘lifelike’ holograms of people and objects as decoys, or maybe it could be made into some sort of advanced tech listening device like in those spy movies she liked to watch quite a bit. Really, there were quite a few possibilities that she could think of, though she only wanted one Holo Caster for the sake of experimentation.
She glanced over as Bastien and Suite were browsing through the cameras, giggling as the Jigglypuff kept pointing out flashy and bright ones that were more for little girls than anything while Bastien disapproved of her choices and kept on perusing. Perhaps Suite wasn’t the best person and/or Pokemon to be asking for an expert opinion on what kind of camera would be the best. ” How about that one?” Chrysa asked, pointing towards what looked like a simple black camera with a large, thick lens that made it seem almost like it had a built-in telescope. ” That one has a 22.3 megapixel image sensor, a 61 point plus a 41 cross-type autofocus, a 3.2 inch LCD with a 3:2 aspect ratio, a full 63 zone aperture with manually adjustable aperture and shutter priorities, an interchangeable lens and a rechargeable battery, and…” she went on, listing off just about anything and everything about the camera from a technical standpoint. However, her voice trailed off as she got ahold of herself, realizing that she was spouting off stuff that seemed like almost complete nonsense for anyone who wasn’t as technologically inclined as she was. Blushing heatedly out of embarrassment, she held a hand up to her face and faked a cough as she averted her gaze. ” A-Ah, what I meant to say was that you can take high-quality, crystal clear photos with it! I mean… if that’s what you’re looking for, heh~” she quickly corrected herself, chuckling sheepishly as she nervously fiddled with the Holo Caster she held in her hands, ” It might be kind of expensive though… maybe there’s a less costly one that might be more up your alley?” Her eyes roamed around along the cameras that were on display in the glass cases, taking note of the many makes and models that were available for sale. She wondered if maybe Bastien was planning on becoming a photographer, or if he was just getting a camera for the sake of having something to store memories of his journey and achievements in. Not that there was anything wrong with it, in fact, she felt that if he ever did become a professional photographer he could probably give Isis Nikon a run for her money. Not that Chrysa herself was at all that closely familiar with the famous Hoenn-born photographer of the renowned Coordinator Culture magazine, but her grandmother had quite a few issues of it stashed in her house somewhere that she would read from time to time. Hoenn had its own share of celebrities as well, after all. 】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【 Chrysa couldn’t help but notice the oddly distant look in Roxas’ eyes as she agreed with Bastien’s proposal to sort out things with Sawa and Siren later, it was a bit strange to be honest. Nonetheless, she said nothing more on the matter, and was more than happy to agree with Bastien’s suggestion of heading to the electronics store to pick up a few things. Roxas seemed a bit suspicious as their threesome left the Pokemon Center and went towards the brightly lit building not that far away, but Chrysa was quick to clarify that she wanted to get her hands on a Holo Caster for a repurposing project later on. She grinned as Roxas seemed quite pleased that there was another techhead in their group, picking out a rather basic looking Holo Caster for herself. The prettier, more decorated ones weren’t really necessary, as long as it was intact ad functioned fine, that was all she needed. The redhead even asked Roxas if she’d be willing to help her out on her little project, since mechanics was more her field of expertise. When it came down to structure, she was an expert, but she wouldn’t have any idea of how to even begin on being able to program it. Her grin grew wider as Roxas agreed since they would likely be sticking together quite a bit from here on out, on the condition that if their project was successful, that they make a similar one for her too. ” Deal~” Chrysa agreed with a nod, turning her attention towards Bastien, who was checking out the cams with his Jigglypuff, Suite. Apparently he was looking for a good-quality camera that he could use, likely to photograph moments from their journey, though Suite kept picking out the flashy, brightly colored ones that seemed more suited for young girls.
The redhead couldn’t help but giggle at Roxas’ cheeky comment, suggesting that perhaps Suite was trying to help Bastien bring out his inner anime magical girl. Chrysa gladly tried to offer some help, pointing out a particular camera that had caught her eye as she started rattling off all sorts of technical information about it. Of course, she had a bit of a habit to start talking in techni-babble whenever she started describing machines and tech to others. Most others more or less had not a clue of what she was rambling on about, unless they were techies like herself, so more likely than not Bastien wasn’t quite understanding even a fraction of what she was saying. Realization dawning on her, Chrysa quickly cut herself off and averted her gaze while she blushed out of embarrassment, going on to correct herself and say that it would be perfect for taking crystal clear, excellent quality photos. However, based on the specifications she had listed alone, that camera would be mighty pricey, and she suggested looking for one that had similar functions but was available at a less costly price. Roxas agreed, saying that the cam Chrysa had pointed out would cost at least a few thousand dollars, before pointing out another camera to Bastien and suggesting that he check out that one while she grabbed a Holo Caster for herself and chatted up the store clerk. Apparently the two of them had some history, and the redhead gave a wide smile as Roxas asked him for a favor and to put whatever she and Bastien bought on her tab. Chrysa watched as Roxas then headed for the exit, saying that she was going on ahead to Camphrier to get in some training. The redhead nodded, grinning as Roxas said that she’d wait up for them and that she’d see them soon. ” We won’t be too far behind ya, Rox~ Be seein’ ya!” she returned, waving after the blonde as she took her leave.
After Roxas left, Chrysa wheeled her way over towards the clerk’s counter, ‘Max’ if she had heard his name correctly, placing her Holo Caster down. ” One Holo Caster to go, please~” she said with a chuckle. Max grinned, taking the device and scanning it to ring it up. ” Heh, y’know, you’re lucky that you know someone like Roxas in these parts. She’s a pretty cool gal,” he commented, bringing up the price on the register, ” Good thing that she’s paying for this stuff for you! You’re good to go, little missy.” Chrysa nodded, smiling as she accepted her new Holo Caster from Max and stowed it away in her bag. ” I’ll be sure to thank her later~” the redhead commented with a chuckle, turning around and heading towards the door, ” Take care, Max, hope that future acting career of yours goes over well when it happens~” She paused momentarily, turning her gaze towards Bastien as she gave him a good-natured smile. ” Hope ya don’t mind, Bass, but I’m gonna go on n’ follow Roxy’s example and head out to Camphrier myself, I’ll be waiting up for ya though! No worries, alright?” she said lightly with a thumbs up sign, waving to him as she wheeled herself out of the electronics store. They would need to start training up soon, especially if they were going to be heading to Grant’s Gym once they reached Cyllage. With Amaterasu, Ryouichi, and Regina in tow, they made their way towards the nearby route gate, labeled with a large 5 overhead, and made their way towards Camphrier Town. 】☆ ☆

"Y-yeah, well, Suite also eats things off the ground when she thinks no one's looking. Magical girl my foot!" Bassey puffed out his cheeks; just as he was about to give up, he noticed Chrysa pointing towards a camera that had remained unnoticed until then. She then fired off a bunch of facts and stats as Bastien, who was totally green when it came to tech stuff, just stared at it in a befuddled manner. "Euh... Are megapixels better than regular pixels?" Scratching his cheek, the green-haired boy also noticed the price tag as Roxas tapped at it. Yeah, that was a little too costly... Chrysa suggested trying to find another cheaper alternative, as did Roxas. "Top row, far left... Hm?" Now this one was nice! It had a simple design, one that even Suite appreciated. Black base with silver linings and details... And it wasn't too expensive either. There was one problem, though. Leaning up on the tip of his toes, Bastien carefully examined it.

"I-it says 'Bad Girl' on it!" While Suite seemed to enjoy this, Bastien wasn't happy. "Ohh, forget it!" He crossed his arms in disappointment, walking away from the shelves. "I'll be outside if you guys need me." Exiting the store in a hurry, the young man began mumbling something under his breath as Suite followed along, mimicking her trainer with a few heated 'Jig, Jiggly's. A moustachioed man took notice of the entire situation, grinning as he slunk over to Bastien from further down the street.

"Heyyy, sport, I couldn't help but notice you were feeling a little down! Having trouble being taken seriously, eh? Am I right?"

Unfortunately, the obvious con-artist caught Bastien's attention, and he was too innocent to not know a scam when he saw one. "Huh? How'd you guess?" Bassey pointed to himself, eyes wide with curiosity.

Ahh, hook line and sinker! Smiling warmly, the con-artist twirled his moustache. "Believe me when I say that I've been in your shoes before. Don't take offense to this, but I used to be a skinny young lad like you. Girls laughed at me, other guys made fun of me... I just couldn't catch a break!" Noticing the embarrassment in Bastien's face when he said this, the man continued skittering over to his table and grabbing some strange object. "That's when I found these little miracles. It's a little thing I like to call the 'Essence of Manliness'! Tell me, have you ever smelled something so manly that it made you grow a beard right there on the spot? Ever caught a whiff of such stifling masculinity that your muscles bulged and your blood caught fire?"

"...This sounds unhealthy."

"Ohh, but on the contrary! It's quite safe. It's even legal!" The man opened up his little pot-like item, holding it towards Bastien. "Just smell that. This is incense, my boy. It's made specifically to awaken the latent power within you. Just set it ablaze and take in its scent, and you're guaranteed to double your testosterone in a matter of minutes! You'll be the manliest of men after using just one of these curious curios, I guarantee it!"

Doing as the man said, Bassey took a little sniff... It didn't smell half bad. Plus, the man's story really got him fired up! Grinning now, Bastien pulled out his wallet. "That sounds like just what I need! How much?"

"20,000 Pokebucks."

"Deal!!" Bastien quite literally threw all of his money at the man's face, who blinked in mild surprise. "Gimme that!" He then pried the incense from the man's hands as he was still stunned, turning and running away.

"A-a-ahh, wait a minute there, son! Be sure to use that in a very secluded area! Don't go lighting it up in the middle of a crowded street, or else you might accidentally affect some pretty women, and they wouldn't be too happy about that!" Taking note of Bastien giving him a thumbs-up in response, the con-artist then snickered. "Ahhhh, does my heart good to take advantage of a sucker like that." Bastien had unwittingly bought something very dangerous. The man cared little about his safety, however; crouching down to collect all of the money he'd gotten, he smirked slyly.

"Gotta get to an alley, gotta get to an alley!" There was no time to return home or anything. With Roxas and Chrysa already on their way to Camphrier, Bastien figured that he didn't have much time, and he wanted to surprise them after using his new incense. "Maaan, I can't wait to see the looks on their faces when I stride up all bulky and cool looking. This is gonna be so sweet!" Sweet, sweet... Oh, Suite! It'd be a disaster if the poor girl was affected by Bastien's incense. "Ah, sorry, Suite! I forgot! You might not like the smell of this too much, so..." He recalled his Jigglypuff just before ducking into a nearby alleyway. Looking around, Bastien made sure that he was absolutely alone... And then, he lit up the incense with the match that the con-artist had included. There also appeared to be some sort of stone in the pot, but it wasn't important right now. Bastien simply stashed it into his bag and began breathing deeply...

"E-eh? Ehh?" A little while passed, but... Bastien wasn't feeling anything. The smell was starting to get a little strong too... "Maybe this thing takes longer than I thought." He hadn't taken notice of it yet, but something strange was happening in the sky above him. Birds were beginning to flock to Bastien, most likely due to the smell. Only a moment passed then, and Bassey was blocked in, with various birds like Pidove and Murkrow staring him down on each end of the alley. "O-oh! Do you guys wanna get manly, too?"

...Seconds later, and Bastien was running for his life, screaming like a girl as he barrelled out of the alleyway and towards the exit to Camphrier. He was still stubbornly carrying the incense, too, so it wasn't likely that they'd be leaving him alone anytime soon. "Birds aren't supposed to get manly anyway! Leave me aloooone!!" Without him knowing, Cotton's ball fell from his bag as he ran. The Flaaffy emerged and looked up, seeing the horde of birds coming for them. Instinctively, he attacked one of the Taillows that was giving chase and knocked it away, but quickly realized that he wouldn't be able to do much good against the horde of birds and began running with Bastien.

If Santalune City had been something to behold, Lumoise was positively startling. The buildings were huge, towering so high they made Marx feel tiny and Flygon look small. It took the brunette a moment just to recover, and when he finally had his bearings, he looked around, trying to figure out which way to go. He... he kind of knew the direction, but the city was so enormous, and there were so many buildings, and streets, and... He reached up, scratching his head a bit and sighing. Even Flygon's birds eye view wouldn't help here... she'd have to reach the clouds to see the entire city and where to go!

Starting through the city, Marx pulled out the map again, but it wasn't quite detailed to help him out. He still tried to squint, though, leaning in close, while Felix took a more productive approach, psychically connecting to some of the native pokemon to inquire about location and directions. Eventually, he got something, and turned his head, staring at Marx as the brunette puzzled over the map a moment, before finally contacting him, and informing him of where to go. Marx perked up, looking down at Felix, then the map, then gave a nod, folding the map and heading that direction with a perplexed expression. It... was a good thing he had Felix here. He would have to thank Rose for trading him to him sometime...

With a new direction now in mind and a general idea of where to go, Marx set off through the city. He started at a walk, but soon picked up a jog again, Flygon dipping and twirling up above. Felix returned himself to his pokeball, uninterested in continuing to try and keep up with his trainer. At this point, Marx was almost considering looking into renting a bike... but he was almost there, and the route leading to Camphrier Town came into view shortly thereafter. Hopefully when he got there, he wouldn't be so tired that he couldn't enjoy spending time with his friends!

Their apartment wasn't that far, and soon Cheria was sitting at the dining table with Sheena and the rest of her team enjoying her dad's food while he looked at the holo caster. Well, except for Lupup, who seemed content with hiding under the sofa. This time, he looked scared. Not observant or anything. Getting up with the plate of Poképuffs, Cheria went over and sat in front of him. "You don't have to be scared, Lupup. It's safe here. Want to try a Poképuff? My dad's pretty good at them now." "Hey. I was never not good at them. I just forgot I was making them." "Same thing." Cheria watched Lupup sniff the puffs before taking one under the sofa to eat. Well, at least he took one. "It's working fine. I guess it must have had a hiccup. So, who's Marx?" "Dad! You weren't supposed to go through my contacts!" "Hey. I was just curious. So....Who is it?" Cheria sighed. "He's someone I met in Hoenn. I'm meeting up with his friends. Anyway, we should go. Can we take the Poképuffs?" "A boy, huh?...Can we trust him?" "Yes, Dad, we can....Don't worry so mich, okay? Come on, guys. Finish up." There was a unison of Pokémon calls and the team finished their Poképuffs. She returned all of them except Sheena and Lupup, who seemed intent on following her this time. Maybe he was starting to like her? Going to the kitchen, Cheria stored the puffs in a container and placed it into her bag. She'd have to make her puffs sometime, see if the team liked them, too.
