Marx was just starting to get worried, picking up his pace as he moved towards the sounds through the darkness, when something stopped him. His eyes had adjusted to the lack of light, and he could barely see ahead of him-- which let him spot something rolling back towards him, bringing him to a stop. He blinked, looking down. Was that... Sableye? "Poreon!" Marx lifted his gaze from the dizzy-eyed dark-ghost pokemon, blinking as Vaporeon came strutting her way back through the darkness. "Uh... th-thanks, Vaporeon!" Marx stuttered, fumbling a bit to quickly hold up the pokeball, and return the notoriously mischevious pokemon. "Va! Poreon!" she replied haughtily. He blinked, totally uncertain what she had said. "Uh... do... do you want to go back in your pokeball?" he offered. He had to admit... he was a little worried, with the sharp attitude she was giving him-- not to mention the fact that she had bit him before-- that she might attack him next.

Vaporeon stared at him, then tossed her head up, turning to resume walking, her tail in the air. He sighed a bit, but put the pokeball away, trying to peer through the darkness to make his way through. He thought he could vaguely hear something else, and now, honestly, he wasn't really sure where he was going. But he let Vaporeon lead the way, following along behind her while looking around. He half expected to encounter wild pokemon, but surprisingly, they seemed to stay clear. Maybe Vaporeons bashing of Sableye scared them all clear? He still wasn't really sure how she managed that....

That Misdreavus from the pokecenter so long ago... She was still following them. And if she tried to take over Naiya's mind again... He may have to show the ghost that she wasn't the only psychic type around. Naiya sighed and turned to follow her pokemon out. She knew where she was headed. Shalour was her next stop. By right now, she needed to get to Cyllage. Then go through Geosenge. Oh maybe they could stop! Or not..... Hehe, if Xena's looks could kill.

It took a little bit of practice and he had admittedly nearly toppled over once or twice, but eventually Sebastian got the hang of his new roller skates and he was thrilled beyond belief. Spade of course was in more of a panic than ever, unable to properly keep hovering at Sebastian’s side, instead being forced to swap between running and trotting. Blackjack didn’t seem to mind though, easily keeping pace with his trainer as he sped up or slowed down. Sebastian was having too much of a thrill to realize issue. This was a lot more fun than it probably should’ve been.
Eventually though, they got to the entrance of the Connecting Cave. Sebastian took a seat, pulling off the roller skates and tucking them away carefully in his bag. He may have had some kind of daredevil streak going, but even he knew that it wasn’t a good idea to try and skate blindly in the dark. Once his skates were set away, he looked to the mouth of the cave, a slight frown crossing his face.
"Alright boys, let’s get a move on." He remarked, adjusting his pouch once more before making his way inside.

It was dark. Like really dark. Like the sun had exploded at some point dark. Okay maybe that was an exaggeration. Sebastian kept a hand firmly pressed against the wall of the cave, feeling along haphazardly as they went. The echoes of squeaks and flapping and movement were the only real noises going on besides their walking. It was very weird.
Spade remained hovering next to his leg, sniffing the air here and there as they went. Blackjack was only a little ways ahead, also sniffing. He was the primary leader in this instance, helping them weave and maneuver around jutting rocks and determining which direction they should be going. It was nice to have a guide.

He dug around on his belt, trying to recall which pokeball belonged to Naps. The fire pokemon’s flames could provide a light source; or at least give them an idea of their bearings. "Naps, come on out." Sebastian replied, the stream of light flashing to an area right before his feet. The Quilava gave a little squeak in the darkness, clearly surprised at the pitch blackness going on. "Naps, I need some light. Do you mind?"
The Quilava squeaked, the flames on his head and back erupting to full force to temporarily illuminate their surroundings. Sebastian smiled, glancing between the pokemon before glancing around the cave. Well this was weird. They’d apparently wandered into some side caverns or something… neither the walls nor the ground looked all that used. Sebastian frowned considering what to do for a moment. They could double back and hopefully return to that intersection from before and try a different direction. Or keep going this way and hope it led to some alternate way out. Decisions, decisions…

Sebastian didn’t really have long to think though as the Quilava’s flames suddenly puttered out, plunging them back into darkness. Briefly, he paniced. "Naps? You okay?" He called softly. He tensed when there was no response, finally letting out a sigh of relief when he heard the sounds of soft snoring. No alright, Naps was fine, he’d just fallen asleep. Really a terrible time to do that but so long as the pokemon was alright, his trainer would survive.
With a sigh he returned Naps to his pokeball – the idea was obviously too good to be true after all- before turning around, ushering Blackjack ahead of them to lead. "We’re… we’re going back this way, alright Blackjack? We’ll try to find that intersection again… go a different way." He tried his best to sound confident, but this wasn’t something he was use too. Holes in the ground were one thing; caves were another. Not that he was afraid of the dark or anything; in fact he wasn’t creeped out in the least. But getting lost in a cave wasn’t one of his dreams, and he certainly wouldn’t have it happen today.

They walked and walked and walked for what seemed like hours. Without the sun around though, Sebastian’s concept of time was skewed. What felt like hours could’ve actually been a few minutes. He gave a sigh, straightening up a bit and doing his best to identify any noticeable features in the walks or on the ground as he walked. Maybe being able to recognize mimicked actions would get him a little closer to the exit. Blackjack was hard at sniffing and leading the way, Spade still hovering next to his trainer’s leg in nervous anticipation. Despite being a dark type pokemon… he was not a fan of the dark. -

- Sebastian listened intently as Blackjack sniffed at the cave floor, doing what he could to keep pace as well as keep track of their surroundings. At some point Blackjack had gotten a bit too far ahead, leaving Sebastian without a clue of what to avoid. As he tried to catch up, he felt something sort of… soft under his foot. A… pile of leaves? In the caves? Or maybe it was moss.
Blindly, he reached a hand down, lightly brushing his fingers over whatever the strange pile was. It certainly felt like leaves. Big leaves. Flowers perhaps? There were specials kinds of flowers in the world that only thrived in caves. But for some reason the little patch of flowers was moving. Why…
”Roselia!” He heard chimed in a rather angry unison. "Oh no…" Sebastian jumped back, startling Spade and sending the poor Mightyena right in the murderous eye sights of the Roselia horde.

The sound of rustling leaves and retreating bodies caught Sebastian’s ears, though his eyes could only make out faint silhouettes moving against the darkness. Once the commotion was over he jumped to his feet, having fallen over when hoping out of the horde of Roselia.
"SPADE!" Sebastian practically shouted, shuffling about in the dark groping around for his pokemon. Where was he? Was he alright? Sebastian had never dealt with a horde of pokemon before and if he had known that was thing, he would’ve kept his attention up. Instead Spade, the poor thing, had been left to fend against the onslaught. He was fainted was he?
"Spade, come on. Answer me!" Sebastian took a breath, still feeling along where the battle had taken place. Had those pokemon kidnapped Spade? Exactly how did he explain that to others? Suddenly his hands connected with a furry body. "Spade?"
"…Hyena…" Sebastian’s gaze narrowed in the darkness. That was a rather weak response from the Mightyena… on top of that he was twitching far more frantically than usual. Sebastian recognized this… he’d seen it once before. When the poor thing had been left on his doorstep.
"Poison." Sebastian could hit himself for letting this happen to Spade of all things. Still, being regretful would get him nowhere. He needed to get of these caves and to a pokemon center fast. "Hye…na…" The other faint little bark came; Sebastian immediately gave Spade a reassuring scratch behind the ears, doing what he could to ease the Mightyena. "It’s okay Spade. You did really good. I’m proud of you." It showed in his voice and he could feel Spade seem to twitch just a tad bit less. Sebastian fished for the dog’s pokeball, offering it out in his direction.
"Hold on, buddy you’ll be okay. Alright? Go back in your ball… take a rest. We’ll get you to a Pokémon center right away, okay? " He remarked, Spade giving a little grunt of agreement before quickly fading away into light and returning to his pokeball to rest. Right as the trainer was reattaching the pokeball to his belt, Blackjack reappeared, barking to get his attention. Apparently, he had found the exit to this blasted cave, a fact the young man was grateful for. "Alright Blackjack, lead the way. Let’s get out of this place." The Houndoom gave a sharp bark in agreement before turning on his haunches and quickly leading his trainer out of the caves.

Once more alone, with only his Pokemon at his side. Ace narrowed his eyes at the exit to the cave. He'd gotten to the end already, but something told him to stay a bit longer. More training? Likely, his team was far from perfect. The next gym was likely to be easy enough with type advantage, but still... better to be safe than sorry. Holding up a hand to cup his chin, he pondered why he even cared in the first place, sure he was doing these gym challenges to continue the rouse that he was a trainer, but honestly, it wasn't rocket science.
Suddenly, his phone began to ring. The white-haired mail lowered his hand to the device, clicking the 'talk' button then held it to his ear. "Yes?" He asked, using a polite enough voice. He wasn't expecting to hear The Queen on the other end. His expression softened. His adoptive mother was calling him? "Ah, yes... I see, the plan didn't quite go as expected." He replied as she spoke about their mission in Hoenn. Hoenn.... it reminded him of that joker... the joker, what was he up too now? "She did? Well, we can't have that can we, mother?" Grinning to himself, he glance over to Amarantha. "Reno spotted her... she's lost her memory? Hmm... Yes, alright. I'll contact Ash or Raven and get them on it." With a few good-byes, the male hung up the phone, waiting of course for the Queen to do so first. Once he lowered the phone he searched for Five's number, finding it listed under the name 'Ash'
After only two rings a sweet sounding male answered the phone. Ace held his phone tightly to his ear. "Ash, I've a favor to ask of you." Ace spoke, using code words that any member would understand. Ash replied in kind, sounding like an old buddy more then a subordinate. "Reno spotted our girl in his hometown, she's seemed to lost her memories, but according to Reno's sister, she was heading for Dewford... think you could check up on her?" Ace's grin grew into a rather devious scowl. "Good, I'm counting on you." With that he hung up. Glancing over to Amarantha, he hid his phone back in his pocket. "We're going back to a bit of training, no more dilly-dallying."
