Sebastian was busy working his legs free from the tangle of his hounds. It would’ve been nice to have a chance to return them before getting teleported; while he might’ve not minded the teleporting, Spade apparently did and ended up just cascading into Sebastian and Blackjack in a miraculous fashion to tangle them both up. It took a bit of prying but eventually he managed to shove the Mightyena and Houndoom away, returning them to their pokeballs before any more trouble happened.
"Yea… yeah I’m alright." Sebastian remarked as he was addressed, glancing over at the cowboy while brushing himself off. He’d caught a bit of the conversation and was confused, but figured for a moment Jay must’ve been talking to his pokemon. People did that after all; it wasn’t to out of the ordinary. Though the mention of snow sent a shiver down his spine, reminding him of all the hail storms from those Froslass. "I think that sounds like a good idea to be honest. My pokemon could use a proper treating for once." Tons of potions were only so much of a substitution for a real pokemon center.
"And I’m still hungry so…" They never did get a chance to eat before that teleporting. How long had it been anyways? Oh well, at least they were back.

Jay brushed his hands off, head slightly bowed and a frown still on his face from the unpleasant trip, and overall experience. "Good, glad ta hear it," he muttered, placing his hands into his pockets. At the mention of food, Jay's mouth thinned, and he placed a hand over his stomach. Sebastian felt his stomach rumble as he thought more about eating. "Feel like that might be a bit of an understatement." He remarked, giving a nod and watching a moment as Jay proceeded in the direction of the pokemon center before falling in step with him.
He tilted his head a bit at the cowboy’s question. "Hmm… I am actually. They really have and I don’t need them to stop listening to me now… plus it’d be nice to get another badge." He remarked with a nod. He propped the door open for him and Jay to enter, fishing out his pokeballs and handing them over to Nurse Joy, who seemed rather surprised at their appearance again.
Sebastian folded his arms over his chest. "You going to do the same? You sound tired and all… maybe a nap first?" Jay had mentioned wanting to sleep after all. Sebastian was a little worn himself, but he could wait until nightfall to get some rest if he really needed it. The thought of finally getting the gym battle out of the way was far more interesting to him than sleep at the moment anyways. A frown briefly crossed his face. On the topic of that... he still didn't know what type the gym leader used. He'd have to find that out first.

Jay smiled wryly. It was an understatement. His back still hurt and, hell, he was pretty sure he still had splinters in his arm from his fall. And his hand could probably use some actual looking at just to make sure the bite wasn't too serious and... well, wasn't infected or anything. He gave an understanding hum to Sebastian's response on getting a badge, which sounded right to him. Obviously, he was no judgement of how strong the guy's pokemon were getting, but if they'd battled as many ghosts as his had, then they had to be getting up there. His wary smile returned at the mention of a nap.
With his pokemon in Nurse Joy's care, he stepped out of the way, rolling his shoulders back a bit. "... Yeah, ah prolly will," he admitted after a bit, stretching one arm up, and the back, his other arm reaching to pull his elbow further back. He dropped his arms to his sides, eyes closed as he rolled his head a little. "Once we get some food're somethin'..." As if on cue, he stifled a yawn, thanking Nurse Joy as she handed his pokemon back, all fully healed (save Koda, who didn't want to be returned to his pokeball, and remained out, receiving a simple potion spritz to make sure he was in fighting condition).
"Yer more'n welcome ta go on 'n battle thuh gym, though," he added as he felt over his pokeballs, noting each marking and putting them in order at his waist. "Ya mind leadin' thuh way to thuh cafeteria'r wherever, bai thuh way? Ah can smell it, but ah wanna let Zoey take a break instead've havin' her squeak mah way there." And he didn't really like having to click his tongue with so many people near, nor did he want to have to resort to using a cane or anything. This way he could at least follow Sebastian's footsteps, and maybe let Scy out just as an added precaution.

Sebastian nodded, returning his own pokeballs to his belt when Nurse Joy returned them. He took a quick count to assure they were all accounted for and in place and had to pause a moment as he recalled Butterfree was still on his person. He really needed to do something about her at some point.
"Hm?" Sebastian turned to Jay and tilted his head as he considered the remark. That would’ve been a good use of time right? Or if anything, he could go and find out what he could about the gym leader and figure out his team for the battle. He certainly didn’t want to go in without a clue. "Hm… if you’re sure. I’m sure I could get through it well enough." His pokemon were tougher, he was sure they’d do fine.
He quirked an eyebrow when Jay asked him to lead the way to the cafeteria, a little surprised by the request for a moment. OF course, Jay was tired so it made sense and after a moment of consideration he gave a nod. "Sure, no problem." He remarked in a chipper tone, turning on his heels and heading in the direction of the food smells. It wasn’t long until he stumbled across the small cafeteria in place for travelling trainers, eyeing the potential selections as he grabbed himself a plate.
"What do intend to do after you get your badge, Jacque?" Sebastian inquired while he went about fillings his plate, noting there was some pokemon food available on a different station as well. It was probably a good idea to grab some for his team as well.

Jay nodded. "Ahm sure," was his very simple response. It was either that, or he'd recommend he train. There was no point in Sebastian wasting his time while Jay took a nap. He frowned a bit as that train of thought started to lead to a few others, but he refocused for now, tunneling in on listening to Sebastian's footsteps, and following after them, one hand on the wall while he took care in his steps. As they neared, he ended up releasing Scy, shifting his grip to the Scizor's forearm with Koda at his heal, disappearing frequently as he swirled along beside him. The little flurry was starting to slow down a bit, glancing up at the lights. It was.... kind of warm in here....
Jay hovered near the plates, standing still, apparently listening, a frown o his face. He lifted his head to Sebastian's question, then moved, sidestepping from the utensils, and turning his head slightly as Scy grabbed a plate for him. Jay could smell what some of the food was, he could hear the various people in the room, the clink of silverware and the casual chatter, but serving himself like this was something he couldn't... really do that well. It wasn't like he could touch everything or taste it to figure out what was what. He didn't want to have to ask, either, because.... a few reasons. Normally it wasn't a problem for him, but he was tired, and he was focusing more on the conversation.

Sebastian listened intently as he eyed what he had to assume was some stir fry and whether he’d be eating it or not. "Really? Three from another region already?" That reminded him he only had one from the region he’d started in. That wasn’t much of an issue though was it? The badges here seemed to be keeping things in check just fine. He’d have to check and make sure there weren’t any problems in the end from skipping around all over the place.
"Wow. Almost half way there then, hm?" With a shrug he paused, looking back at Jay. "To be honest? Probably. I mean, I’d like to keep on top of my badges anyways, so I don’t have issues. And it gives me a reason to travel to different places and learn more." Which was the point of this second journey in the first place. He lifted a hand to flick it through the air. "And there’s still those contests to figure out about, right?" That was something he still wanted to check into after all.
Sebastian paused at the sight of Jay and Scy, head tilting to the side a bit as he notice the pokemon holding the plate. He had to try hard not to look confused, the corner of his lips twitching to a slight frown as he quirked an eyebrow.
"Do you need some help?" Sebastian asked after a moment. He had no clue to what degree Jay’s pokemon were able to help him and while it was rather impressive how Scy was holding a plate without snapping it in half –it looked like the kind of thing that would happen with those kind of pincers – but he wasn’t sure how that would work with handling the food. He certainly wasn’t trying to be imposing, but… well sometimes, you just had to ask.

Jay started to answer but stifled a yawn instead. "Mm, yeah," he managed, pulling his hand from trying to stifle the yawn, "I ain't had him out much 'cause've them ghosts'n all, but mah starter's akshully an Osh'wott, now Dewott, which's from Unova, so ah went ahead 'n got uh few badges back when ah started out." Not to mention all the time he spent in that forest, training. Thank goodness for it, though, given it was because of that that he found Heracross, and quite a few other pokemon.
As it turned out, it seemed they would be able to travel together for a bit longer, and Jay smiled some as Sebastian mentioned the contests. "Yeah, there's that.... reminds me, I oughta let Crystal out once ah get looked over by Nurse Joy 'n take that nap..." he remarked, rubbing a hand over his jaw. He wasn't sure he was looking forward to reuniting with the squirtle, but now that they were out of the cave, at least there would be less danger. Well, unless she started knocking over buildings or something, somehow.
There was a still, awkward moment of silence as Sebastian offered to help, then Jay shook his head, turning it slightly and listening back towards Scy. "Nah, Scy should be able ta handle it," he replied, ignoring the embarrassed burning on his ears. He wasn't blushing-- but his ears were turning a little red in his discomfort. It was usually as flushed as he ever got, given he was usually fairly immune to awkward or discomfort. But when he was both the source, and the victim of the uncomfortable moment? It was harder for him to just ignore. It didn't help that he was pretty tired and uneasy to begin with.

"An Oshawott?" That was one that sounded a bit familiar. He’d done the briefest of brief looks into the different starters before opting on a Cyndaquil and in turn starting in Johto. It probably help that Johto was closer to home too, in case he ever needed to go back. So how had he wandered to Kalos? Eh, that was anyone’s guess. "Well that’s pretty neat. What made you choose an Oshawott?" He’d heard so many different trainers talk about their starter partners when working at home, it was always interesting to learn how and why they came together in the first place.
He quirked an eyebrow when Jay mentioned Crystal, trying to suppress slight concern. Oh ya… the Squirtle with the attitude. He’d have to watch himself around her; he didn’t want to go making her angry enough to fire attacks off again. "Same here… I still need to figure out which, if any, of my pokemon might want to do contests."
Sebastian’s gaze was still on Jay as he wavered the offer of help, his head still tilted as he studied the other man a moment. His expression was ambiguous save for the slightest of frown, but he shrugged and gave a soft smile turning back to the food. "Alright, if your certain." He remarked as slapped a decent helping of the stir fry on his own plate. He stepped away, watching and waiting for Jay to grab his own food, scoping out for a free table. He spotted one only a few feet away and once the cowboy had grabbed his food he’d start moving towards it.
"I don’t know, to be honest." Sebastian rolled a shoulder as he thought a moment. "I figured once I was done eating, I’d go find out. I want to make sure my team is ready and all." Growing strong from all those ghosts meant nothing if they were at a massive disadvantage after all. "I want to check out the shops around here too while I’m at it. I’ll even see if there’s any information about contests so we can figure that out."

Jay thought a moment. "Y'know, I ain't sure. S'pose ah just wanted uh water type, 'n ah lived in Unova at thuh time, so..." He shrugged. "Yer starter was thuh Quilava, right? What madeja decide ta get that 'un?" Aside from bug types, fire types were actually one of his personal favorites, but that was mostly because of how incredibly handy they were. He wasn't good at starting fires, but having a heat source when you started off was a good idea. He'd come across Numel on his travels, though, and knew he wanted one-- and was incredibly happy to have Mary Lee, even if he didn't have her on his team at the moment. He was also glad to have Tod, too-- he was glad to have all his pokemon. Things had worked out.... incredibly well, given how much of it was all unexpected. He never would have expected to get that incense from Tod, after all, and there was no way he would have known he'd get Mimey, Gamma, Ralts, and all the others when he used it, either.
Once Scy had some food he handed Jay the plate, which Jacque felt and reached up to take, murmuring his thanks. He moved to follow Sebastian to a free table, hand out to feel the chair before pulling it out and sitting down. It was one of the few times he looked and felt blind, because he wasn't using any echoes to orient himself. He heard sounds but it was just a cacophony of noise, he had no reference to judge the distance of it as it rebounded off everything. "Makes sense," he agreed, nodding and grabbing a fork to test at his food, "Could prolly ask Nurse Joy, too. Ah gotta ask her bout mah, er... bite, 'n.... arm." He frowned a moment, Sebastian's 'Accident magnet' comment coming to mind again, then shaking it off. "Lemme know if ya learn anythin' more 'bout contests 'r anythin'. Ahm prolly gonna crash once ah get looked over." He took a bite of his food, inwardly contemplating whether to keep his pokemon in their pokeballs while he was sleeping. He trusted them and all, but he was a little wary about having them just wander around. Ah, well... he'd asked them once he was done eating, see what they wanted to do.

Sebastian glanced at Jay as they reached the table, yanking a chair out and seating himself. His eyebrow was still quirked as he watched the other man take a seat, picking up his own fork and fiddling with his food briefly as he considered the question.
"Because it was cute." Sebastian replied with a little nod, fork twiddling in his food a moment. Well that certainly didn’t sound right out loud. He hesitated a moment. "That and I thought it would be a nice change. I mean, on my first journey I had a water type… I thought it’d be nice to mix it up this time around and get the opposite." That sounded better.
He listened as Jay mentioned his intent to get checked over and then rest, a sympathetic look crossing his face even though he said nothing, mouth full of food. It was impressive how it’d taken this long for all the accidental injuries to catch up with Jay, he had to applaud the man’s tenacity, but it was good to hear he’d get himself looked over. "That sounds like a good idea."
"I will, don’t worry. I'm sure there's a bunch of resources out there." He had sort of offered to help after all, it wouldn’t do much good to leave the other man in the dark –figuratively speaking- if he did find out anything. He was sure there were some magazines and reading material that they could use.
Sebastian proceeded on eating in radio silence as it occurred, one part because he could tell his friend was exhausted and winding down as the conversation continued, another part because he was hungrier than he had imagined and was enraptured in his meal just a bit, and a final part of it being rude to talk with one’s mouth full. If there was anything his parents had taught him, it was to have a semblance of manners. With a satisfied sigh, he pushed his chair back a bit, patting his stomach with a hand. Okay, he’d really needed that refuel
"Alright, I’m off then. Have good a rest, alright Jacque? I’ll see you a bit later." Sebastian had to actively stop himself from making some kind of accident-avoidance comment; Jay seemed to be hurting enough as it was. Probably not best to joke or give him any ideas.

It.... was... cute. Jay stopped a moment at that explanation. He... supposed he could understand that, but... really? Really? He waited and listened, relaxing a bit more as Sebastian continued. Okay, well that made more sense. It did make him wonder what happened to that original water type, then, and where it was now, but with the food, and the topics shifting, he decided to tuck that question and conversation away for another time. If Sebastian really was interested in contests, and planning to go to the next gym as well, and they were going to continue traveling together (as it seemed they were), then it would help to have more conversation fodder in times of quiet.

Unfortunately.... brail just wasn't that readily available, especially not for magazines and such. Shenaiya poofed back into the pokemon center, a bit bewildered by all of this. His first stop was the PC for a quick storage check, recalling Jay mentioning the Daycare. He’d have to consider who on his team to send there if any. Maybe once he’d checked about the gym. With that finished he checked with Nurse Joy, inquiring about the gym, thanking her when she informed him.
Fighting? Okay, he could handle that he was sure. Heading out of the pokemon center, he paused, considering his first course of action. He needed to check what his team would be and then maybe check the shops around for supplies as needed. That sounded all right. That settled he headed outside; first thing’s first, check his team.

Sebastian found some free space outside the town closer to the beach, deciding the seaside view was a nice back drop as he figured out his team for his upcoming battle. It was spacious too, and for the most part, disserted. He let everyone out, eyeing them each as they gave their own different little greetings.
Except for Butterfree, who’s immediate action was to fly the hell away, plopping herself up on a cliff edge out of reach. Well that was actually pretty agitating and it was in that moment that Sebastian realized his nerves weren’t quite up to par with dealing with the Butterfree and her attitude. He still had no idea after all this time what he’d done wrong. Instead, the trainer just shook his head, ignoring her as he plopped down on his bottom in the sand and tugging out his pokegear.
"Alright let’s see what we’ve got here…," He murmured eyes focused on the device as his other hand shot up to push a prowling Kaiser away. The Mareep mewled unhappily as he was thwarted in his attempt to snag his trainer’s braid. Damnit he hadn’t had a chance to chew it in a while! When was the last time he was out of his pokeball anyways?
Sebastian paid no attention the Mareep’s discontent mewling though, nor the fifty mile an hour chattering directed at the rest of the pokemon despite the mix or responses and looks. He was more concerned with finding a team composition. -
