Deciding to give him some extra help, Ezra got out the Lucky Egg he'd been given by the old lady next door when he left home and handed it to Tödlich. The Nidoran sniffed it before cracking the egg open and he slurped the contents until it was gone. Ezra knew it would help, but....Yuck. That was a sound he would do well to forget.

Well, that was surprisingly easy. Then again, she had Mikhail use Light of Ruin, so that was probably the main contributor. What surprised her was that he could use it in the first place. Either Avonlea didn't hear the teen or she was a bit too busy to care. Sable could understand either option, as the woman fell to her knees not long after the battle was finished. Whatever that move was, Mikhail wasn't the only one feeling a drain from it. Sable started to go over to the woman to see if she needed some help, but Avonlea managed to get back up on her own so that she and her Pokemon could chase after a colorful batch of Exeggcute."...Today's just getting too weird..."the teen mumbled as she walked outside, shaking her head as she did so.
Once outside, Sable looked over at the two Pokemon that were waiting for her. Jin had apparently gotten everything he could off of her goggles since he handed the mostly-clean accessory back to her. Meanwhile, the Eevee looked mighty proud of himself and just padded over to stand near Sable."I'm guessing something else happened out here while I was busy cleaning up?"she asked as she turned her head to look over at the disguised Zorua. The teen fiddled with her damp hair a bit as the dark-haired male gave her a nod."A colorful group of Exeggcute came over to cause some trouble. That little fluffball did a good job of knocking it away, though,"the dark type replied.
Sable nodded a bit and seemed about ready to walk off and do some exploring when a hissing noise caught her attention. Looking for the source, the teen saw a long strip of purple and yellow coiled nearby the Pokemon center that seemed to have reared its head and neck up at her."Oh, an Ekans... Eh, why not,"the teen said, then pulled a ball off her belt and let out the Pokemon inside. Scoundrel was the one who popped out and the feline looked at the snake Pokemon a moment before glancing up at his trainer."Don't worry about it. This one shouldn't be able to do much to you. Just scratch it a couple of times and you should be fine,"she said to the Pokemon, which seemed to be good enough for him as he looked back at the Ekans and leaped at it, digging his claws into the snake Pokemon.
Even with the Ekans managing to coil its body around the Purrloin and give him a good squeeze, the battle was over fairly quickly. After clawing at the snake Pokemon once more to get it to let go, Scoundrel padded over to his trainer before stretching out. Sable nodded a bit, then pulled out a Pokeball while the Ekans was still dazed and tossed it at the serpent. The ball shook a couple of times, but eventually let out a soft ping to signify a successful capture. Soon after, Sable heard a light beeping come from one of her pockets, so the teen pulled out her Pokedex to see what the commotion was about. Something about verifying whether the snake Pokemon should be sent to storage or kept on her person, since she apparently qualified for an extended party. The teen thought a moment, then assigned the Ekans a nickname and set her to standby for the moment. She'd switch things around a little later.

Seeing as the three Pokemon were busy playing, it was kind of up to him to be the eyes and ears of the group. Eventually, he saw Sable battling, and catching, an Ekans. But, his gaze was shifted to a cream-colored Buneary. Actually, it was more or less cookies and cream-colored. Which was cute. Fitting for the current season."Alright, Tödlich. I think this will be enough. After this, we'll try taking on Brock."Try being the main word there.

He wouldn't use the Xerneas unless he had to. A last resort, as it was put, and that worked for both him and the Life Pokemon. It was just an unwritten part of their partnership. Brock was polishing his Geodude to buff up his rocky exterior, but looked up when Ezra came in. He'd had a tough battle, but his pokemon were good to go, and just in time, apparently. "You've come a long way," he remarked, standing up, "But if you're here to challenge my gym, you won't find it easy! My rock types can endure a lot! Geodude, you ready?" He turned to the pokemon, which lifted itself up, nodding its whole body in confirmation. "Dude!""Then you're who I'll start with," Brock decided, looking back to Ezra, "When you're ready." Geodude moved forward, pumping his fists in anticipation, bracing himself for the tough battle that was likely to come.
