Lucian nodded and waited when she pounced he was expecting a physical attack, then he saw the water but it was to late. When it hardened into ice the skin on his neck turned to scales. Then he was thrown a little and he broke it after words allowing his skin to return to normal. "One point for you too it seems..." He mumbled as he got an idea. A small stool of ice formed behind her and a large slab formed in the sky next. He thrust both his hands forward sending a massive force her direction. If it worked, she would trip over the stool and the block would drop on her.

Kaia could feel the force coming at her but she couldn't get out of the way in time. So she waved both her hands infront of her and a long body of water formed in front of her. The moment whatever he set flying towards her touched the water, It splashed everywhere; but she kept it pushing against the force untill it stopped in the middle. Then she let the water sink back into the earth only to come up around her in tendrils from the ground. The stool had shatter and so had the slab, making shards of ice rain down behind her. "As a child I used to come here and practice everyday." She shot the tendrils up, and as they came down they took a sudden turn and shot at him as she ran with them. Water spiraled up her arms and at the last moment engulfed her fist and froze as her fist was about to go into his stomach.

Lucian waited till seconds before contact would be mad with his stomach and he suddenly pushed backward with his feet. He had allowed ice to form on his shoes and then used it to slide backward. It melted off and in his place to take the hit was an ice clone that turned into a massive ball of water. It formed a dome around her and then turned into solid ice again. He stood for a seconds then raised his right hand slowly making it into a fist. The dome began to crack and then shattered sending all the ice shard at her from most directions but not all.

Kaia eyes widened at the ice figure she was about to hit and dreaded the moment it did. She thickened the ice around her hand as fast as she could, but then the figure turned into water. She stumbled forward slightly, but regained her balance with a relieved sigh. Then she watched as the dome formed and enclosed her inside. She took her shoes off, squeezed her fists at her sides and inhaled the cold air and perked a little at the sound of crackling ice. She opened her hands, palms down as it shattered. A platform of ice formed under her feet and pushed her upward, though the cap of the shattered dome. Though that didn't stop her from getting hit with the shards of ice, it didn't matter to her.

After a moment, the pillar stopped and the dome was gone, helping form the pillar. She crouched like a cat and pounced forward, digging her nails into the ice to prevent her from slipping. As she left the pillar, it melted down and quickly formed one where she was planning to land, if she did it right and concentrated enough. Then she'd crouch and do it all over again, gaining speed as she came down.

The whole way down, she kept a quick eye on him, expecting him to do something like split her pillar in half, or making it shatter under her feet, or something to mess her up and she hoped he wouldn't. She didn't mind heights on mountains, but she didn't like this being over the edge feeling

Lucian was at first going to split the pillar but that would be a big waste of useful water. He didn't really have the energy to make more from the air. Each time they made new water it was taking some out of the air. sooner or later that would be bad for them. So instead he used his mind to tip the pillar and sent the side upwards toward her ribs. He expected her to use it to pounce forward so after he tipped it he used most of his remaining energy to create a wall of ice in front of her. "Only one more point..."

Kaia was just about to pounce and make her last pillar when he decided tip the pillar, but instead of pouncing and forming another one, she turned and jumped straight off the side in a moment of courage. Her heart was beating loudly and she could feel the blood pulsing through her veins. Oh, how she hated heights even with her great balance. She quickly reached out and dug her nails into the side of the pillar, softening the ice so she could actually use it to slow her down. Then it all melted away when she hit the ground and pried her hands away, pooling slightly at her feet before the earth began to suck it back up. "I'm never doing that ever again." She mumbled more to herself than him. It was a surprise that she could even keep that going on such dry land. "At least cats always land on their feet, right?" She shrugged, a little embarrassed at her slight fear. She'd climbed up mountains and slept in trees and many other things, but the pillar had only just been big enough for her to land on and leap from. The over the edge feeling had her stomach in her throat; but she didn't like being like this in front of a king. She honestly felt as if he looked down on her a little and that was why she never spoke to anyone most of the time.

She looked up at the king with her eyebrows coming together in the middle slightly. "You're taking this seriously, huh?" She asked as she put one bare foot in front of the other, stepping on the wet earth. Wherever she stepped, water came up around her legs slightly, but she didn't do anything more. She just waited.

"Yes, I am..." Lucian said as he walked towards her. The water around her feet froze solid and he poked her forehead. "Three..." He was done with the game. Lucian looked around back towards the city. He now realized the commanding Lead he could have on the King of The South. If he returned to the North now and launched a full scale attack he would likely take the Empire to ruin in a few hours. Their King would not be there to lead.
His mind quickly filled with ideas of him waiting on the throne when the King of The South returned. The shock would be priceless. Sadly, Lucian was a man of honor, he would never do that. Though he may not have a serpents smile he would be polite when it was required.
Lucian turned and looked back at the girl. "You know, the North would make a far greater home for you then this land. With what is coming you should probably move as soon as you can. If The Ash Land unites with the South against me it won't be long till the South tries to make magic illegal here. It will always be welcome in my land."

Kaia's lips tugged at the corners as he poked her forehead and she didn't struggle as the ice formed around her feet, keeping her in place. Honestly, she didn't want to mess around anymore and was glad it was over since she wasn't one to care about winning or losing. She watched as his face changed a little, getting ideas in his head; but she'd never ask him what was going on in his mind. Instead, she looked at the sky as he started speaking. "And I would live just as I live everywhere else." She said as she looked at him with a slight sorrow in her eyes, "I've no family, no friends, nor do I know what my purpose is; But then I guess that gives me no reason not to accept your offer. I have nothing to leave behind." She crossed her arms and looked back at the sky and, for a moment, she was quiet. Letting her mind wander. She was alone in this world and she figured she always would be, so she always tried to find comfort in the thought no matter how terrible it was at times. "If the Queen does side with the South, if she sides with either of you, what will you do?" She asked suddenly, "The honorable thing to do would be to stand by your kingdom, and I'm sure you'll do just that; But will you keep your promise to the King of the South no matter the outcome?" Her cat-like eyes wandered back to the King as she realized what'd she said, but she only shrugged at him. She was sure he knew it was her following them earlier on.

"If the Queen sides with the South I will remain ready for war. Both sides can attack, they will not get past the Wall. If they do they would face to much cold to make it to the center. They are both used to warm climates. It is easier to get used to warmth then to get used to the cold. Thousands will die when the South strikes, then they will reach my army." Lucian explained. "And yes, I will keep my promise. He will not escape justice. I told him he would want to be dead by the time I am done with him and he will. I plan to trap him in the wall, or if the wall will not fit him, I plan to cut off his hands, cut out his tongue, and cut off something he probably values more then both. I will not name it, you should know." Lucian said.
"Then again if I can barely manage to beat him in battle I will settle with watching the life drain from his eyes."

Kaia didn't look at him, but she listened. Then when he was done, she kind of laughed a little. "You act as if you'll find peace in his death..but no matter, what he did will still haunt you in the end." She uncrossed her arms and looked at the king, "There is no peace in death unless you're one of the few who want to die. Men fall, families weep. There is no beauty in the idea of war, but I suppose you've no choice." She stayed quiet for another moment, "I was in the last war, when the Queens father was King and we'd sided with you; but I don't think I would do the same if she decides now to side with the South.

"Things have changed, I no longer wish to kill him for revenge. Every day, someone dies because of his actions, he is he kind of man to kill because his drink was warm or cold. I will stop him so that he can not hurt anyone ever again." Lucian said. "Your words give me some comfort, It will be good to have you as an ally. The North is always open to those who wish to walk among the people.

Kaia nodded, but didn't say anymore on the subject of the Southern king. "I'm not as great as most, but I always try. After all, I don't have much to live for, so why not die for something you feel is right. Maybe you could teach me a couple of things!" Her eyes brightened a little, but dulled back a moment later. Though it would give her something to do rather than wasting her time until death decides to take her from this life, she doubted he'd feel up to it. "Nevermind I said that." She stated, a little embarrased at her fowardness.

"I could teach you a few things on the way back but once we get there it is likely I will be overwhelmed by tasks to complete." Lucian explained. "I fear, some complain about the cold and they can not be sated, they have made threats and tried to act on them. I will have to deal with this problem."

"You're a king." Kaia stated, "I'm sure there's nothing that won't keep you busy, especially at a time this." With the kind of man he seemed to be, she didn't doubt that any bit. "You have to tend to your kingdom. I understand." She half smiled and uncrossed her arms. "Whenever you leave, find me." But then she figured he didn't have time for that, so she brought her hands together and water began pooling in them. She blew on it and it formed into a bird perfectly capable of flight by using the water in the air, though it was mostly dry. Enough had lingered. It flittered out of her hands and swooped around in a cirle. "Or send me some sort of sign and I'll fnd you."
