Struck by lightening and then burnt to a crisp, goodness this gentleman had quite a few strong pokemon on him. That being said, the photography inside Viola made certain that she didn't miss a single chance to take a shot, the sound of the shutter snapping closed becoming audible as the flames of the last attack died away. "Incroyable!" Viola gushed as she set her camera back to rest against her chest and returned her Vivillion. "Monsieur, you and your pokemon gave a rather photogenic battle, and for that I thank you." A smile graced the gym leader's lips as she strode across the gym floor to Ashley, "You've more than earned my badge, and as an extension of my gratitude I present to you Infestation, it'll give your opponents quite the nasty bite." From there Viola curtsied, more than content with her battle and the pictures she'd taken; all that was left was to heal her team and have her pictures processed.

It took a lot of self-control for Ashley to properly hide his disappointed at how the gym battle had gone. He shouldn’t have been surprised really, though he was a little bothered that Octave had managed to get struck at all; that Surskit had moved rather fast much to his surprise. Already the Porygon2 had returned to his transceiver so the questioning would have to occur later.
Instead Ashley focused on Viola as she offered him his winnings, ambiguous look turning to a slight smile as he nodded and accepted the offerings. "Thank you madam. That was a most exhilarating battle." He remarked as he took the items, eyeing them a moment before tucking them away. Ashley gave a bow in return to Viola’s curtsy, "Merci madam. Prenez soin de vous." With that he turned and gave a little hand gesture for Alphonse to come along and promptly headed his way back out the gallery and to the outside once more. He had a few things on his mind that he’d need to be addressing soon.

With a little sigh, Ashley stepped back out into the world, eyes scanning the pathways a moment as he took pause. It was only proper that he stop at the pokemon center to give Octave a quick healing, though the back of his mind was still reeling from that subpar battle. He could easily heal the Porygon2 with the few potions he’d been given and after a moment of thought, decided to do just that. He actually wanted to keep moving.
"Alphonse. Bastien. Come along." He replied to the pair an authoritative tone, using his free hand to adjust the frame of his glasses before beginning to move. The mega Audino gave his trainer a bit of a lay look, eyebrow quirking before he gave a bit of a shrug and followed after. Bastien blinked and looked just as surprised, before quickly scuttling after the pair in the direction of a particular gate. The Fennekin wasn’t sure what the man’s plan was but he moved with such determination it was rather crazy.
It wasn’t long though before he noted the gate they were passing though, eyes going wide at the sight of the approaching city. Whoa… this place…. Was massive…

Elizabeth had gone back inside the Pokemon Center and went over to the PC again, thinking of which pokemon to have in her party. Finally she decided to have Camellia, Marigold, Holly, Blossom, Lilly, and Fleur since they need the most training and experience. Speaking of which, she had something for Lilly and Camellia to help with that as she let them out of their pokeballs. The two pokemon watched as Elizabeth had gone through her bag and took out a few Rare Candies along with an Energy Drink. She handed out two of the Rare Candies to Lilly and one to Camellia, seeing them eat the candies and sensing that they were a little stronger. Once Camellia was done eating, she had her come over before opening up the top of the drink and crouching down to her level. Then she put the top up to the Fennekin's mouth, telling her to drink up as she carefully poured the purple liquid into their mouth. While this was happening, a Crystal Shard had fallen out of her bag, which Lilly noticed as she went over and picked it up. It was so pretty and shiny with the rainbow colors, putting it up to her mouth and then eating it. Camellia had finished drinking all of the purple liquid, Elizabeth throwing away the empty bottle when she looked over and saw Lilly with a Crystal Shard, putting it up to her mouth. "Lilly, don't eat that!" she had said, but was too late as Lilly already ate it, wondering how that will affect her. Suddenly Lilly had started glowing a bit and when the glow disappeared, the pokemon looked different than she was before. Instead of the flower on her head being red, now it was pink along with her eyes as well. The back leaves, the leaves of the flower, and her arms were now also light blue instead of green as well. Is that what the Crystal Shard does, changing the colors of the pokemon to become a shiny, different colored version? "You are even more pretty than you were before!" Elizabeth had said as she smiled, hugging the pokemon who hugged her back too, very happy with her new appearance. She then returned Lilly and Camellia back to their pokeballs, ready to go face the gym leader in this city.

Elizabeth started walking out of the Pokemon Center, on her way over to the gym. So she had made her way to the gym building, walking inside as she was looking around. "I'm here to challenge the gym leader." she then called out, wondering what the gym leader is like and what kind of pokemon they would use. It is only the first gym, so they should be pretty easy to defeat after all. But she does have all her weaker pokemon in her party though, hoping that they will be enough against this gym leader at least.

Viola flashed a picture of the elegant woman stepping out towards her canopy. "Oh! Hold that pose darling~" The shutter of Viola's camera snapped again with another flash before Viola straightened out, smiling at Elizabeth. "You've come to challenge the gym leader? Well, elle est là! Here she is~ I hope you're prepared mon cher~" She grinned. "I want a fantastic battle for my photo album. Vivillon!~" Viola expanded one of the pokeballs on her belt, sending out the large pink kalosian butterfly onto the battlefield. "We're ready when you are!" She insisted with a grin.

Elizabeth was very surprised when suddenly her picture was being taken, a woman with a camera telling her to hold that pose. So she held it as her picture had been taken again before the woman said that she is the gym leader, speaking some french. French must be a common language that the natives of Kalos learn since Ashley had spoken it too. She had heard as the woman was ready, having sent out a Vivillon and nodding back before thinking. Camellia would be good type-wise, but she still felt like the other was a little too weak to battle this pokemon. She did know the perfect pokemon to use though that would be strong enough. "Let's go, Marigold!" Elizabeth called out as she then released the Vulpix out of her pokeball. Marigold had looked around, seeing her trainer behind her and another pokemon, now ready to battle. "Marigold, use Quick Attack!" she had called out, the vulpix nodding back as she quickly ran towards the Vivillon, disappearing and reappearing while doing so. Then Marigold had quickly hit the other pokemon before making her way back over to her side, Elizabeth being very glad that she got the first hit in.

"Ooh~ What pretty golden fur!" Viola crooned over the vulpix that Elizabeth sent out, snapping another photo. "Marigold yes? Très bien, what a suiting name~" She grinned, watching as the vulpix lurched forward for a quick attack. "Vivillon, use tackle!" Viola commanded, snapping a picture as her pokemon attacked. She wanted to get those high definition shots when Vivillon's scales showered like glitter from the contact. It always made for some beautiful pictures.

Elizabeth smiled as the woman said that Marigold had pretty golden fur and how Marigold suited her. Then she watched the Vivillon tackle her Vulpix twice, seeing the other's scales shower like glitter. She had looked down at Marigold who had taken a beating, but could still keep going. Elizabeth knew that they could win this with just this last attack. "Marigold, use Ember!" she then called out as the Vulpix nodded back before opening her mouth and sending small flames straight at the Vivillon. Yes, that should be enough to defeat that Vivillon!

Viola gasped and made sure to take plenty of pictures as Marigold let loose a powerful ember attack that knocked her vivillon out. "Vivillon! Darling, are you okay?" Viola asked with a light frown. As fantastic as the display had been, she was still concerned for her pokemon. Vivillon made a light noise to assure Viola that she wasn't too hurt, but it was quite obvious the bug couldn't go on. "You did wonderful dear, return." Viola nodded, returning the butterfly to it's pokeball before sending out her surskit. "Let's see if we can't douse those flames, hm?" Viola suggested with a smile, readying her camera.

Elizabeth saw as the Vivillon could no longer battle, watching the gym leader return them and switch to a different pokemon. She saw that it was Surskit, knowing that this is bad type-wise and because Marigold had taken a lot of damage already. "You did great, Marigold." she told the Vlupix before returning them to their pokeball and thinking of who to send out next. "Alright, your turn Blossom!" Elizabeth had called out as she let out the Bellossom from her pokeball. The pokemon was surprised that she was out, but saw the other pokemon and figured that this was a battle, ready to fight. "Blossom, use Leaf Blade!" she had said as the Bellossom nodded back before the leaves of her skirt glowed green. She quickly moved across the field toward the Surskit, getting close before spinning and slashing at them with her leaves, making her way back over.
Elizabeth switched out Marigold for Blossom. Blossom used Leaf Blade! -90 damage to Surskit

Gym Leader Viola
Given the type match up and how much damage Marigold had taken in her battle with vivillon, it wasn't too surprising that Elizabeth switched pokemon when Viola sent her surskit out. The bellossom was immediately commanded to use leaf blade, which meant surskit was in trouble. "Quick attack!" Viola countered. With the speed boost of the quick attack, surskit was able to dive in and get a hit first, and then another after Blossom countered with a leaf blade, but the two attacks weren't enough to take the grass type down. One more attack, and surskit was done for.

Elizabeth was extremely surprised as the Surskit managed to quickly hit Blossom before the Leaf Blade had hit them. She saw as they did the Quick Attack yet again, relieved to see that Blossom can still go on at least. "Blossom, use Mega Drain!" she then called out as the Bellossom had nodded back to her. The flowers on her head were glowing and her arms raised before she sent some green energy at the Surskit. The energy shined as the Surskit was drained of the last of their HP, giving it to Blossom before it disappeared. Yes, she has won this gym battle and received her first gym badge in the Kalos region.

While it was a bit disappointing that she had lost, Viola was quite happy with the battle. It had been a good fight, so after returning her fainted surskit, Viola clapped for Elizabeth's win. "Bravo! What a fantastic battle. Here, you've more than earned these gifts mon cher." Viola nodded, climbing down the rope ladder from her canopy to hand Elizabeth her rewards. "Good luck dear, you have a long journey ahead of you, non?" Giving a friendly smile, she made her way back to her studio to heal her pokemon back up and see about developing the pictures from the battle.

Elizabeth saw as Viola was clapping, hearing the other congratulate her for that win, taking the gifts from her. She smiled and nodded back as they wished her good luck on the long journey ahead, putting the items away in her bag. Then she returned Blossom back to her pokeball before walking out of the gym and heading back towards the Pokemon Center. After a battle like that, her pokemon needed to be healed up and glad that they got some more experience at least. Elizabeth walked into the Pokemon Center, going over to the Nurse Joy and handing her the pokeballs. So she then sat down and waited for them to get all healed up, thinking that she really has started down this path. It wasn't the path that she had expected that she would take, but for now she has to keep going down it regardless.
