If I didn't have a child, I'd risk dragging you, Larai, and her entire family down to hell with me. I didn't want to break her heart by forcing such a role on another woman, so I waited until she was ready instead. Some months from now, you'll be a big sister." he told her with a smile.

Milly looked even more confused, perhaps slightly disturbed. She was not ready for such..such benevolence! It was not unwelcome, but it was horribly shocking to say the least. "You care how she feels?"

Milly almost couldn't keep the tears from flowing from her eyes. Upon realising how horrible she had been, he's still willing to forgive her? It felt like...like it was too good to be true. "..Daddy? Are you sure you don't hate me?"

Milly muttured words of apology over and over again, crying for a good while. It seems that even with this, it would also take time to heal old wounds.
