RayRai_Lover fire axel 08 okay...try this on for size. you are captured by a tribe of canabals the chief is a logical sort and says to you "you will make a prediction of the next couple days. if it comes true you will be thrown off a cliff. if it is false you will be eaten by lions." you think for a minute and give the chief a answer that forces him to let you go. what was the statement? I'm pretty sure it should be: "I will be eaten by lions"
correct now a man lives on the tenth story of a building and everyday he rides the elivator down to the first floor to go to work. at the end of the day he rides the elivator up to the seventh floor and then walks up the stairs the rest of the way...unless it is raining then he just rides clear to the tenth floor. why?

He is not tall enough to reach the 10th floor unless it's raining because he has his rain boots to make him taller.

Lol the sphinx isn't greek mythology kthx. As for the answer it's the life cycle. 4 legs morning = baby 2 legs afternoon = adult 3 legs = old man with a cane. Hehe good try, learn to spell for one, and two learn your history. Sphinx is egyptian.

Up and down are the same distance if you think about it. Also a dog can only run half way into the woods before he is running out of the woods.

You can only go up for so long before you start going down. There is no answer to that otherwise. "Up" and "Down" can go on forever. But this is not a riddle topic, but more of a philosophical discussion topic. That is not even part of the riddle, haha it has nothing to do with it.
