Lafayette frowned, standing in place as a small group of the bugs landed a few feet away. It hadn’t even occurred to him that he still had the incense on his person as well. He’d forgotten about throwing it away in his haste to try and get to the gym. Whether this was how they’d found him though was anyone’s guess. The angry chitter grew as they landed and faced off with him and Noah. Yeah, it was clear they were angry and looking for compensation for earlier.
Too bad. Lafayette didn’t have time for that. He reached out and chucked Micah’s pokeball, summoning for the Arcanine once more. Obviously, if these things were looking for a rematch, then who better for the job. Micah huffed, gaze narrowing as he stared the bugs down. There were only three of them but that was more than enough. One of them had clearly been assaulted before because at the sight of the hound, it went into a rage and attacked. And once more, it was decimated with a single bite.

The Heracross squealed as it was destroyed, Micah taking the opportunity to step a massive paw down on the creature. Its friends didn’t take to kindly to this gesture, watching a moment before splitting in different directions to try and strike. Lafayette’s head snapped to one direction, Noah’s in the other, watching the bugs maneuver. Micah didn’t look, his gaze instead focused on the bug under foot.
"Micah. Lef’." The blonde remarked as the Heracross made a sharp turn aiming to stab at the hound. Micah’s head seemed to bob just slightly in recognition, remaining in place before his head snapped around and much like before, he latched onto the bug’s horn yanking it around and slamming it into the ground as well with a spit of fire.

The last Heracross remaining hesitated. Whatever hopes and sense of revenge it had clearly dissipated at the sight of the other two being thrown down like rag dolls. Hovering in the air to the right, it twitched its fingers together in nervous tension. Lafayette gave it a look, expression ambiguous. Oh so now they were feeling the heat? Shame really, they would’ve spared themselves further injury and humiliation if they had felt it the first time.
"Should’a nicked off the firs’ time, mate." Lafayette remarked. He snapped his attention back to the Arcanine, head nodding in the direction of the Heracross. "Micah. Finish it." And with that the blonde resumed his travel towards the gym. Micah didn’t hesitate, even as the Heracross gave a little scream of panic, promptly slamming the bug to the ground and quieting it with a fire chomp. With the menaces now dispatched, he quickly ran to catch up with his trainer. Lafayette had paused outside the gym doors, a slight smile crossing his face as he gave the Arcanine a pat on the head. "Ta Micah." He remarked, returning the dog to his ball. Now, back to what he was here for.

Lafayette lingered a moment, fishing out the incense and disposing of it in the trash nearby. He didn’t want any more of those bugs finding him and well… ‘bugging’ him. Someone else could deal with the splurge of those creatures until the incense itself burnt out and died. With that handled, he gave Noah a look and a nod, pushing open the doors and stepping inside.
It was almost like he’d climbed right back onto the ridge where he’d first lit the incense. There were massive rocks everywhere, sticking up from the ground this way and that. There also appeared to be various holes and such towards the walls of the gym, as though someone was excavating there as well. Lafayette’s head tilted curiously as he continued further into the building, maneuvering around the mountainous rocks and holes until he made it to what looked like a proper battle field.
”Hello there.” A young man addressed him, shifting Lafayette’s attention. He eyed the man a moment, squinting a bit. Were his eyes even open? Strange. Either way, Lafayette nodded. "I am. Hopin’ it’ll be a rippah of a figh’." He replied back with a grin, watching Brock look a bit surprised as he spoke. The man rubbed under his chin, nodding in agreement.
”Huh. That’s an interesting accent you have.” Brock gave a nod, taking up his place on the other side of the battle field. ”But alright then. Let’s see if you can penetrate my rock-solid defense.” Lafayette’s face blanked a little at the comment, smile slightly returning. Mhm… they’d see how ‘rock-solid’ he really was.

Brock knew he was going to lose as soon as the bulbasaur came out. It was, after all, his biggest type weakness. He wasn't going to give up easily, however. He may have been able to pull it off it it weren't for its giga drain. For this trainer's bulbasaur to know giga drain, that was quite impressive. He had made good use of his type advantage, conserving strength by using tackle to finish off his pokemon when they were low on health. Brock returned his Onyx and then met Lafayette at the center of his arena. "I would say that fight was a real 'rippah'," he said, smiling. "You knew when and how to strike for the best damage; I can see that you and your pokemon are more than ready to move forward in your league challenge, and as proof of that, here is the boulder badge. You and your pokemon earned it." Brock nodded, handing over the badge. "I also want you to have this. It's the TM for rock tomb, the move my onix used. It's one of my favorite moves, as you were probably able to tell." He chuckled. "Anyways, I'm sure you'll put it to good use. Good luck on your journey!" The rock specialist waved Lafayette off, turning to go heal his pokemon up.

Lafayette just nodded as he took his winnings. It really hadn’t been much of a battle; Brock’s pokemon had terrible typing it seemed. How they had both managed to survive the hits with just a sliver of their health was beyond him. He gave a little tip of his hat to the young man as he tucked the items away. "Thanks heaps, mate. Take care." He remarked, turning and leaving the gym.
Noah was bouncing excitedly on his shoulder after watching the battle. It was no doubt that Eve would handle the fight without a hitch. Well, there was a bit of a hitch when the opponent’s didn’t just lie down and faint like they should’ve when struck, but Eve had handled it like a champ. As they headed into the pokemon center the Oshawott jumped off down from his shoulder. They waited patiently a moment as Eve was healed and returned to the team. Now… it was on to the next gym. Lafayette paused a moment, looking around for information on this. He’d probably have to go through the mountain if he wanted to get to the next town. What a fun prospect, hiking through a cave. As he was searching though, a particular flyer caught his eye.
"Wha’…," he murmured. He saw mentions of his home town on the front, along with a flag stand with a Druddigon silhouette on it. It seemed oddly familiar but it’d been so long so...
He snatched it up and took a closer look before waving down Nurse Joy and asking her exactly what it said. The blonde’s eyes practically lit up as the woman explained that the Renaissance Faire was up and running this year. The biggest grin spread on his face, head immediately snapping down to Noah. Lafayette of course wasn’t fazed at all. He was excited and for good reason. His father had told him about Ren Faires and even taken him to one a couple of times when he was younger. Now it was around again and he was looking forward to it. Especially because it meant something special.
He fished Micah’s pokeball back out and summoned the hound out. The dog was immediately alert, expecting another hail of Heracross. When there were none he gave his trainer a curious gaze. Lafayette was still grinning after all and it was clear he was excited about something.
"Hey there Micah. I need a ride back to the trains. Yeh up feh it?" The Arcanine stared a moment before his head dipped into a nod. His grin grew wider, giving the Arcanine a pat on the mane. "Ta mate. You’re a rippah mate." The Arcanine just grunted, kneeling down a bit as Lafayette and Noah hopped onto his back. Soon he was back to full height and a moment or so of figuring out which direction to go and they were bounding off back towards Viridian Forest.

As mentioned, the trip to the city was a cake walk. Of course, it went by far more quickly than she anticipated with her partners all out of their balls. They seemed pretty happy to be out and about. Ivysaur walked alongside the girl, Pikachu and Pidgey were on her shoulders, Butterfree flew above her head, Growlithe was at her heal and the only one who had to return to their ball was Dewgong since it couldn’t physically keep up. But she did promise to the seel-like Pokemon that she would take Dewgong out once they reached the Pokemon Center. The girl had to heal up Sandshrew since she didn’t have any Revives on her. The girl hadn’t found any yet and heard that they were incredibly expensive. For the mean time it was best to go to any Pokemon Center for any of her Fainted Pokemon’s needs.
”We’ve been here before but I’m thinking that there were some Pokemon around here that we can still befriend. Keep a lookout just in case. And!” Misa gazed at her partners, ”If anyone one of you finds a Pokemon we already have then I might just let you battle it for keep’s sake.” The Pokemon cried out in excitement, even Dewgong’s ball buzzed a bit at Misa’s belt. ”Let’s do it!”

Most of the party kept a lookout on any Pokemon that they may find. Whether or not they would be an addition to the team was up to Misa to decide. However, it did mean that they would grow stronger! Most of the Pokemon knew the power of the Gym Leaders, especially this city’s Leader. He had powerful Pokemon and no one seemed prepared for the trip. And now the human was going to set out for the next Gym Leader. No Pokemon knew if having more Pokemon in their party would help since it didn’t look like numbers would overcome power. Brock only had 2 Pokemon, 2 very strong Pokemon and none of them really knew about the next Gym Leader except that she was a Water-type specialist. Growlithe, being one of the newest members wouldn’t stand a chance against the Gym Leader. Bulbasaur and Pikachu would be the key members in bringing the Water-type Leader to defeat. Dewgong may have a chance as it was a Water-type Pokemon. Thus, only 3 Pokemon in Misa’s entire team may be the key to victory. Those three had training on their minds. Ivysaur was already looking forward to another Gym Battle, Pikachu was eager to be in its first Gym Battle since joining the team, and Dewgong was happy to be of some help. Pika! Pikachu cried out as it spotted a nearby Pidgey, it grabbed the human’s attention by continuously pointing at it and crying out. ”Well, it is fair and square. Alright Pikachu, go show that Pidgey what you are made of.” ”Pikachu!” ”No offense to you Pidgey, I hope.” Pidgey stayed perched on her shoulder and didn’t seem to care one way or another. ’It is a bit of a pity that it was just a Pidgey but at least Pikachu was able to get a little bit stronger.’ The yellow creature appeared quite happy with the battle as it had a smile on its face and had a little hop in its steps. The rest of the party were eager to get their hands or at least spot another Pokemon to fight. The city was a big place and it probably wasn’t going to take too long to find another opponent. But in the meantime the team was heading towards the Pokemon Center to heal up the Sandshrew. The member needed to be recovered and a party member would need to be returned to the PC. Specifically, the Clefairy. There was no need for the Fairy-type creature to be in her party but certainly her parents may get a kick to have a adorable creature in their home. ’Maybe I can see how Goodra is doing as well as Sylveon. I’m sure that my parents wouldn’t give them too much trouble.’ Yes, for a young girl she did have a mature mindset but one had to grow fast in this world. The world was dangerous and she had to adapt.

With the Pokemon Center in her sights they grew closer to placing this little hunting expedition on hold. There weren’t going to be a whole lot of Wild Pokemon within the Pokemon Center unless they were mixed in with someone’s Pokemon. So although Misa didn’t have to say this much she gave a quick glance to all of her partners. They were all still searching the area, keeping a lookout for any potential rivals or opponents they may be able to battle. ”Alright everyone, let’s not try to fight in buildings. We don’t want to bother anyone or their partners.” Every creature went to look straight at her but it was clear that not everyone was pleased. They were very much interested in keeping a lookout. ”Well, if everyone keeps looking out for Wild Pokemon like that I’m sure that you are all going to have a hard time finding opponents.” They were still not pleased as they entered the Pokemon Center with various other Pokemon in their sights. I was wondering if you could help him out?” ”I’d be more than happy to.” Nurse Joy took the one Pokeball from Misa and placed it on a tray.” ”It will only take a moment. Please wait till we have fully restored your Pokemon.” ”Thank you and I will!” Misa responded energetically as she beelined towards the PC. Playing with the controls it was time to send of Clefairy off to her family. They would know what to do with the Fairy-type Pokemon that did not please her at all. ’I sure hope that they will take care of you.’ Although not pleased with the Pokemon’s type she didn’t wish ill on the Pokemon itself. So, with more button pushing and placing the Pokemon’s ball on the machine the creature was sent to her family where her parents might enjoy the extra company.

With the task completed the girl returned to Nurse Joy to find that Sandshrew was awaiting her. The Pokemon was out of its Pokeball and was looking quite healthy. Misa gave a hand towards the mouse Pokemon to which it grabbed her hand with its tiny one. ”I think you and me will get along very well.” She smiled towards the Sandshrew who returned her kindness with an expression that looked like happiness in her eyes. Taking its ball she returned Sandshrew and placed it in the same pocket with Geodude. ”Oh, I forgot to heal you too.” Taking out its Pokeball she handed the item to Nurse Joy who went to the back in order to do her duties. ”I really shouldn’t forget about my partners. At least we are still at the Pokemon Center.” Misa turned towards where she believed her Pokemon were but they were actually at the entrance of the building. ’Their eagerness really shows.’ Sooner or later she would have to go outside and do some shopping. She may even have time to look around for Pokemon so that her Pokemon could be content with their hunting.

With Geodude healed up and retrieving its ball, Misa returned to her team that was all too eager to go back out. The moment she stepped outside Butterfree sent out a cry and pointed towards the sky where a lone Pidgey was flying. ’Another Pidgey? Well, they are pretty much anywhere.’ As Butterfree was the first one to find the Wild Pokemon Misa had to respect her own rules. ”Alright Butterfree, you’re up this round. Everyone, just chill for a moment.” Misa rubbed her neck and yawned just a bit as another battle was about to commence. Butterfree (Lv. 12) vs. Pidgey (Lv. 5)
Butterfree used its Psychic-type attack to not only bring the Pidgey to its level but actually used it to smash it straight into the ground. ”I guess that is one way to win a battle.” The action was a bit shocking but she was aware of its serious nature. ’Maybe Butterfree can be a bit too serious for its own good.’ Still, it was another one hit fight. It wasn’t anything spectacular but it did allow Butterfree to gain some good experience from it.

Whether all of these battles would be one-hit knock outs was something a bit uncertain. The Pokemon in this area had all once given her a small challenge but now it seemed that they were filled with rather weak Pidgeys. Not there was anything wrong with the Pidgey species themselves but so far that was what she was seeing through her walk around the city. ’I might as well get some shopping done and do some walking around.’ They had all recently had their breakfast so none should surely be hungry. If there was any hunger present then it was the hunger to fight an opponent. It probably would have been easier to go fight a Trainer then to constantly keep a lookout for various Pokemon. ’I’ll probably run into another Pidgey while we look around. I really wish I could get my hands on another Pokemon. Even if it isn’t a Pidgey.’ But fate wouldn’t be so giving, right? For now, all she could do was walk around with her party.
