i personaly like the wii better.

I will never buy a PS3. It costs way to much, and they only good thing about it that makes it sell is because it has good graphics. So the Wii doesn't have the best graphics, it still has really good games on it.

now they drop the price 2 $400

The ps3 is on par with the Xbox 360 as far as graphically, and the ability to utilize the HD usage.

the backwards comparability issue was resolved about 3 months ago.

more than 70% of the games with the ps2 are playable with the ps3 now also the Hdd on the ps3 was increased to 80gb instead of the 60gb.

the price drop was issued 2 months ago witch brought the 20 gb unit to 400$

and 500$ for the 80 gb unit (the xbox was 500$ when it first came out)

we all rember when the ps2 first came out and all the bs about no games and comparability issues. well the ps2 out sold the xbox 5 to 1 2 years ago and 2 to 1 this last year.

ps3 sales are null because of the lack games and issues with the ps3.


like the ps2 this system will ries from the ashes and again take out the 360 in time.

there are about 3 dozen games coming out for the ps3 (including the FF7 remake) that will be released in the next 7 months. that will begin to put the ps3 on the map.

even thoe it is expensively i dident see people complain about spending 500 dolors on the x box360

eather way, the ps3 will eventually be true to the gaming world.

My friend got a PS3 the day it got out... the price was at like 600...but he also bought like 3 or 4 games... when he told me that he had a PS3 I was like O.O eek ....fkng rich kid(but he actualy is not rich XD) hes been spoiled by his parents both him and his twin brother hehe XD xp

For that price, I can get an XBOX 360 AND a Wii. (And honestly, how they got the name Wii is beyond me. Sounds a bit too french for japan razz )

Before reading this i want you to know that I work at Best Buy in the video game department. I know and talk games all the time. this is my business and I have to not be biased about any of the things i sell. Also i know everything I'm listing to be total truth. I have talked with our Sony representative many a time and have all the facts straight on what I'm writing.



There are many reasons to get a PS3..and many reasons not to.

PROS

- Beautiful Graphics. These are amazing.. the graphics look so realistic. I mean on the demo for the game "Heavenly Sword" you see a close up of the protagonists face and you can see the awesome detail. Skin pores, lines in the lips, individual eye lashes , etc.

- It features BluRay. BluRay won the war against HD and Sony picked the right one to run with. Watching movies on a BluRay player are astounding. You can even play regular dvds and they are slightly improved quality-wise.

- It's more or less a computer. You can surf the net with a wireless connection. hell my fiance is constantly on youtube.com with it.

- There are NO loading times. The PS3 features a mode where it will download about a gigabyte of a game to the hard drive and there are NO loading times for big games like: Devil May Cry 4 and the ever popular Grand Theft Auto 4.

- No batteries! The controllers are rechargeable and can be charged while playing by hooking up a usb cable from the controller to the system.

- The Sony Store. You can buy games, download them to your system and play to your hearts content. you can even download games then transfer them to your PSP for mobile play.

- Internet is FREE! When you surf the net, shop the store , or kill a few dudes on GTA4, you're doing it all for free. that is awesome stuff. No subscription needed.




CONS

- Price. The 40 GB PS3 is 399.99,The 80 GB (due out June 12th) is going to be priced at 499.99. unless your lucky enough to have someone pitch in with you or you get it as a gift thats going to hit your wallet hard. The 40 GB doesn't even come with a game.Then you'd have to buy that and maybe an extra controller for 49.99 (sixaxis) or 54.99 (dual shock 3).

- Game selection is poor. There aren't many games that are "OMG I MUST HAVE IT" worthy as of yet. this will change in the course of the next two years. Lets hope for the better.

- Backwards compatibility. The 40 GB is only BC with PSone games. The 80 GB (due out June 12th) is 75% BC and will play both PSone and PS2 games. However the 80GB will not play early games from both of its predecessors. To do so you'd need to buy a memory card reader for it which runs about approx. 20-30 dollars.



End result: In my honest opinon, the PS3 is definitely worth getting.. if you get the 80GB version. Also if you have a love of graphics over all and if what is out now as far as games go can grab your attention long enough until something better comes out.


Also:

Just to let people in the know, Sony stopped making the 80GB version for a while. they wern't making enough money with the 40 GB so they stopped making the 80 GB more or less forcing anyone who wanted a PS3 to buy a 40 GB.

However, June 12th they are coming out with a new 80 GB which is 75% BC as I stated earlier just like the "old version" of the 80 GB. It'll be 499.99 , packaged with Metal Gear Solid 4 and a dual shock 3 controller.

To close a rumor: THERE IS NO 120 GB PS3 BEING MADE!

There is a new gun metal colored version of the 40 GB on sale on line from the Sony store website. It's 40 GB (duh) only BC with PSone games and is a stylish gun metal color. It's on sale at a whopping 600.00. Yes, i know it seems foolish but what the hell..SOMEONE will buy it.
