Leon watched as panic started to bloom from the villagers at the sight of Darts. He then watched Sub's amazing acting skills as he was able to shed a tear. Leon held in his laughter as they needed to make this look believable. Leon started walking inside the village as Snagem was split up for the time being. Hopefully, it won't stay that way for long. Shiro; the Alolan Ninetails then tapped Leon's hand with her cold nose with a concerned look. "Don't worry, you'll be safe as long as we stick together." He said softly to his Pokemon as they were led to the biggest building in the village. "Galactic huh?...Looks like we may be in old Sinnoh." Leon said merely to himself as he entered the building along side Sub.

"Guessing we just play by their rules for now?" Leon said quietly to Sub.

[Human Snagem Group]

“Excuse me, could you take my friend to a medic? I don’t think he’ll be going on any adventures any time soon.” Sub asked a guard as he noted Wren’s injury. Said guard would wence when noting the arrow wound and would help Wren towards the Medical Corps, it’s there where he would meet a woman named Pesselle, a nurse. The woman would get through all the pleasantries as she worked, getting Wren in a bed, removing the arrow from his knee, and going about cleaning up the wound, fortunately it wasn’t too bad. (Kaya: You may expand on Wren’s time being treated including controlling Pesselle.)

“That’s exactly the plan.” Sub whispered to Leon in response as they headed up some stairs. “Also if you find a weapon lying around anywhere, take it and hide it.” He instructed the Poison Channeler, he didn’t trust these people.

Before the human Snagems knew it they were led to the topmost floor of the building, cramped into a small office furnished with just a single desk. Standing behind the desk with his back turned towards them was a tall man in a kimono. He would dismiss the guard, only turning around when he was gone. “Professor Rowan!?” Sub shouted, unable to contain his shock as he laid eyes on the face of who that guard called ‘Commander Kamado’. The commander would scowl at Sub in response, a look of insult and anger on his face.

“I demand you show some respect! I am Commander Kamado of Galaxy Team! The only professor here is Laventon! Lower your voice next time you speak, outsider!” Sub would wence over this bombastic response to his own outburst, this Kamado was certainly an intimidating man. However he did look a considerable amount like Rowan of their time. An ancestor perhaps? “Now then, rudeness aside, welcome to Jubilife Village. We have come from across the globe to settle here in this wild virgin land of Hisui and develop it into our new home, as such newcomers are not unusual. However the way you strangers showed up has alarmed the village and earned my suspicion and concern. I’ll certainly be questioning you on the demon you alleged kidnapped you but for now Galaxy Team will show hospitality towards weary travelers. However there are no free rides here…” Kamado started to explain.

[The next day.]

The Snagems were given room and board in the village for the night, the food not being the most tasty and the beds not too comfy but both were sufficient. In the morning the Snagems were woken up and dragged back to Galaxy Team HQ and informed they were being accepted into the village after a long discussion with their leader, Sub. The only conditions were they had to work and earn their keep as well as assist in tracking down and eliminating the demon that arrived with them, to prove they weren’t cohorts. Sub did not reveal they had come from an Ultra Wormhole and another time, instead he said they left their homes in Johto to seek out new lands, even kept up the charade about Darts.

All of them were informed they would be part of a new group under the management of the Survey Corps, their group called ‘Snatch Team’, their goal to aid the survey corps but to first and foremost at every opportunity find the demon and ‘snatch’ it up. From what they gathered the villagers think Darts is their ‘evil god’, or rather an aspect of it. Commander Kamado however believes Darts to be some sort of Pokemon, intelligent and a danger to the village. Sub wouldn’t reveal that everyone was kind of right. Either way Darts was now the village’s biggest threat because apparently he showed up at the worst possible time with their ‘Noble Pokemon’, Pokemon they revere, acting wild and strange domes of light appearing as well. Sub wasn’t sure on what either one of those were but he knew Darts couldn't be behind it, regardless it was now their job to prove themselves and locate the ‘Renegade’ for Galaxy Team and bring it to justice.

Having met their new commander, a woman named Cyllene who Sub thought looked very familiar (though he and now one else would figure out why). They would be grilled by the woman in their instructions, given new uniforms, and pushed out straight into the wilds to capture a Pokemon to wield against the evil god. Not wanting to alarm them even more, Sub instructed the other Snagems to hide their own Pokeballs while in the village.

You see, these people actually think Pokemon are savage creatures that are not only dangerous but should be kept far away from humans, however they recognized their usefulness when absolutely required, believing hunting down a ‘god’ to be one of those situations. As such they were given primitive Pokeballs to capture a Pokemon with, apparently they originally only used them in emergencies to capture rogue Pokemon in the village and release them back into the wilds.

Now standing at a campsite just outside the village walls Sub motioned for the Snagems to follow him a ways away from the camp, out of earshot of one of the guards. Once they huddled up under a tree he spoke freely. “Alright, that was a lot to digest since we arrived yesterday. I think that stew they fed us didn’t sit with me right either, ugh.” Sub complained as he held his stomach. “Alright, I know they want us to track down Darts, which is exactly what we’re going to do though not for the reasons they think. We’re going to find where our hybrid teammates made camp and try to figure out where to go from here. So let’s go, and keep an eye out, apparently the wilds are crawling with wild Pokemon, most of which have never seen people.” With that said Sub started to walk down the very faint path before him, looking to find the other Snagems.

[Note: You may write out your character’s experience from the day before to now, that is how they ate, sleep, people they met, etc. In your next post you may also capture a wild Pokemon if you wish. Pokemon available are; Bidoof, Starly, Drifloon, Shinx, Wurmple, Pichu, Ponyta, Eevee and Mime Jr, or you may wait for a later opportunity.]

[Hybrid Snagem Group]

To everyone’s surprise Beau would issue out orders to get everyone working on their campsite in the midst of this small forest. Larrimore was not only shocked by Beauregard’s sudden leadership but also by the fact he called him by his full name and not that awful nickname he usually used. Did something happen to the Vivillion hybrid during Ultra Space travel? If it did he hoped it stuck, he liked this Beauregard better.

Saying no more the Pinsir hybrid went about snapping trees with his horns, executing a Vice Grip each time. While his horns were pretty strong he was out of practice so only smaller trees would be felled, along with plenty of branches. As instructed he left them where they fell, a few times running into the stray Wurmple and only one Cascoon, only the later trying to give him grief as it fired a Poison Sting at him, the man promptly releasing Pineco to fight it off. The Bagworm Pokemon would execute a Rollout, knocking the Cascoon out of the tree after ramming it, taking a Poison Sting directly in the process though it didn’t harm it too much. Pineco would then turn back around and bowl over the Cascoon, knocking it out with ease thanks to the type advantage of the move. With that taken care of, Larrimore went right back to chopping wood. His horns were going to be sore in the morning.

Freth would have plenty of time to scope out the land, particularly the already established campsite near the village. Where they were making their campsite was at the bottom of a hilly landscape dotted with trees, the brush thickest here, and just to the east there was a river and a small wooden bridge to cross it in the direction of the village, signifying for Freth that while this place was wild and undeveloped it was not completely left to nature, someone had to build that and had a reason for needing to cross the river routinely. If Freth had any kind of geographic memory of Sinnoh, or perhaps if she spoke to the others, she would realize their location in modern Sinnoh, Route 202.

The others would be allowed to go about their tasks with Darts and Deo pulling in the wood and Monique and Keiko gathering what they could find to likely be edible, mostly berries. Monique could probably steal the tent set up at the village’s campsite and maybe a banner or two for their own tent crafting, just had to either disguise herself or make it look like a wild Pokemon did it, otherwise they were making shelter with leaves and other plant matter. Keiko would also be asked to fetch water for the camp. Beauregard would be charged with making a fire at night and by then a few crude tents were constructed for the Snagems to sleep in, Larrimore offering to watch over them at night, requiring Darts to be his stand in later in the night.

[The next day.]

Daylight would arrive and the Snagems would be awoken by the sound of Kricketot playing their songs, the sheer volume much louder here than in their time, likely due to there being many more of the species here in the past. Once everyone was up and awake they would eat something and Freth would get the idea to go for another look around and this time would find something more interesting, movement at the village camp, several people standing around and eventually leaving the camp headed towards the bridge. Maybe she should get a better look.

With the day spent, trying to scout, patrol, and work on the campsite for the Snagems, the hybrids would finally be able to rest for the time being, ready to pick up the next day. Though sleep wouldn't come easy for Freth. While she was no stranger to sleeping outside, the problem was that she was sleeping in what was essentially a world that she has only read in history books and the like. It was alien, for all intents, and was wondering if what the hunter stated was true; that if they were really stuck here for good. It honestly unnerved her. Many things in retrospect she took for granted were beyond her reach now. Souring her mood further was the hunter's occasional quips about how Snagem screwed up around the ultra wormhole and that being here was perhaps one of the better case scenarios to be in. Freth wouldn't bother replying to her in any state, trying to stay focused at the tasks at hand. There was too much to be done to be worrying about what a specter was saying.

While sleep was eventually achieved, it wasn't exactly restful. Then again, they didn't have the luxury. The Snagems as a whole perhaps had to resort to bracing themselves on their own backpacks or logs that were cut down by Larrimore. Freth managed to get up and started to move about, having to stretch out a bit to work out whatever kinks she got sleeping as she did, though it did little for her aching wings, trying to shake them to life some as she occasionally had to do since being transformed into the Galarian Articuno variant.

Once she told the rest of the group she was going to go out scouting once more, she started to make her way off to make her rounds. Once again, she ended up having to shake her wings again to get the ache out of them. "Fold your wings in front of you."

"What?"

"You'll feel better." the hunter stated. "Fold your wings in front of you, like a cape."

"Why? What does that accomplish?"

"Galarian Articuno don't use their wings like most other flying type Pokemon." the hunter would start to explain. "They may use them to glide to otherwise conserve energy, but for the most part, they ascend, hover, and propel themselves with their own psychic power. The reason why your wings always feel achy or falling asleep because you're not in the normal resting position for them. You're just folding them back behind you just as you always have."

"That doesn't sound like it makes any sense."

"Well maybe you should ask Arceus why he decided to make Galarian variants special then. If you don't want my advice, then ignore me as you do anyways." the hunter stated.

Freth would stand there for a good few seconds, then sighed. Maybe this hunter started to realize that antagonizing wasn't going to do any good? If nothing else, its not like she has her target here to try to draw ire towards. Freth stretched out her wings then folded them around the front of her. Freth couldn't help to think for a second once she did, her wings gave her some sort of appearance as if she was wearing a shaw or poncho of some kind. Her wings did start feeling a bit better, admittedly. "...thank you."

"No time for getting soft on me. You got other problems, remember?" the hunter replied. Freth would just roll her eyes.

Freth would continue on as she did, trying to get the lay of this primitive land. It was a little unsettling however that along the river, she would note a bridge, which seems to be a major route, perhaps from the village to across river she had to guess. A realization was made, however, once she looked back down river. Someone might be able to see the Snagem campsite from the bridge, giving her a bit of pause. She perked up, and while she couldn't sense it, she could hear it. Movement. She got down low and started to make her way around a massive rock. She started her way around it to look at what was coming down. Was it those from the village? Was it the human half of the Snagem crew?

It didn't take long for Keiko to get a handle on what was going on. The group were stranded in some wilderness and had to focus on survival. Fine. Wild Area in the Tournament in Galar, no big deal. It didn't take long to get her orders. Food and water. Made sense. She had her purse on her to hold food in, but how the hell was she going to carry water in anyway that would last? And how would anybody know if the water here was safe to drink? As she pondered these thoughts, she looked around and it fully sank in for her that there were no modern... ANYTHING out here. The only water she could see was in rivers, and there was no way that was clean.

"Beggars can't be choosers," Keiko mumbled before wandering away from camp. The task she chose to tackle first was water. She needed to find a way to carry a decent amount, and would likely need multiple trips to get enough for everybody. Food was somewhat easy, she could just pluck whatever looked serviceable from what she could find as she went around. Something she saw in the camp gave her an idea, though. Big leaves were being used to make crude tents. It would be rough, but she could use something like that, though she'd have to find an alternate source so she didn't take from what was being used for the camp.

After a bit of exploration (and some berry picking), Keiko found a tree with large leaves well away from the Snagem Camp. She tried to dislodge the leaves without damaging them on her own, but couldn't manage it from the ground. She didn't want to risk climbing the tree with her tiny feet, so instead, she dug through her purse for her pokemon, but could only find one ball. Where were the rest of her team? She panicked a bit at that, but soon forced herself to calm down. She couldn't do anything about it, now. Opening the ball, however, she let Daedra out. Not the best one to have around right now.

"Okay. Daedra, I really need your help right now. Can you help me get these leaves so I can carry water back to camp? And please don't try to eat them," Keiko pleaded.

Daedra wasn't feeling very cooperative, however, as her stomach was rumbling. Keiko ate fairly recently in her perspective, during her time in her sisters' home in Alola, but she didn't think to feed any of the six Pokemon in her team at the time. The Sligoo barked in Pokespeak, insisting she get fed now.

"Calm down, okay? I have some berries on me, but I want to get this done first, okay? I don't know how much sunlight we have left," Keiko tried to barter. Daedra wasn't having it, however, and Tackle the tree that had her trainer's precious leaves to show her displeasure. At first, Keiko was concerned and a bit upset, but the colorful fruit-like orbs took her attention. "What is this?" she asked, picking one up. She was surprised when a chunk of it nearest its stem came off, and even more surprised to see that the bulbous 'fruits' were hollow inside. An investigative whiff proved these objects clean and uninfested, so the Lopunny hybrid jumped for joy"

"Hey, I can carry water in these! They're basically like canteens, and none of them look bad inside. Good job, Daedra!" Keiko cheered, petting the Sliggo's head and ignoring its slimy, corrosive exterior. Daedra chirped excitedly, hoping this discovery would lead to an immediate return in food. "Just help me with one leaf, okay? That way I can carry more than two of these without too much trouble."

Daedra didn't like that answer, but decided not to cause any more of a scene and go with it. Climbing up the tree, Daedra nibbled at the stem of one of the leaves, allowing Keiko to pull it off easily. But Daedra was swiftly knocked to the ground by a Wurmple that didn't appreciate its home being destroyed. Daedra, however, would prove the angrier of the two, as this Bug-types interference further delayed the promised meal. In a fit of rage, Daedra ran up the tree and and expressed its Outrage by pummeling the Wurmple with fists imbued with Dragon-type energy. As the two traded blows, Keiko focused on tying up the large leave into a makeshift sack and started packing it with empty apricorns of various colors. Once she was ready to head to the nearest river, Daedra fell on her back from atop the tree, victorious against the native Wurmple, but very heavily confused due to multiple uses of Outrage. Keiko left a few Oran Berries by the dizzy Sliggoo and left her there to recover.

Picking a few more berries along the way, Keiko eventually made her way to the stream and started filling Apricorns. By the time she came back to the tree with a leaf haversack of apricorn canterns, Daedra was finishing the last of the berries her trainer had left her and was feeling much more cooperative. With Daedra's help, some legwork, and some elbow grease(not all of the apricorns were clean and some needed to be hollowed out), Keiko returned to the camp with six leaf haversacks stuffed to the brim with apricorn canteens. "Hopefully this should last everyone a while," Keiko said, both to herself and to Daedra. Fortunately, Keiko got back to the camp before the sun set entirely, but it was pretty close to it as she hung the water sacks on the sturdiest tree closest to the camp for other Snagems to take from. Keiko and Daedra ate the rest of the berries Keiko had in her purse and after some light exercise, turned in for the night.

The next morning, Keiko focused more on food, as she hoped the water she towed in the day before would last for a while. Taking a canteen for herself, she made her way out of the camp. This time, she focused more on exploration traversing wide swaths of terrain and collecting any berries or plants that look reasonably edible on top of harvesting any resources she thought might be useful. This mostly consisted of discarded branches to use for firewood since Keiko was not even remotely familiar with her surroundings.

Monique was sent out into the wild with two orders: forage for anything edible and maybe steal some materials from the camp at night. She opted to keep Kalama in its Poké Ball and brought out Weuweu the Pansage to assist her. After all, who better to help find Berries than a Grass-type Pokémon?

She stayed near the shoreline but not too close. The Pansage was excited and kept looking at any plant life it found. Mostly, though, it seemed attracted to the trees, many of which had fruit of some kind hanging off of them. Pansage's help had led Monique to a collection of mostly small blue Berries and some larger yellow ones; on one occasion, Weuweu jumped up and prevented the sheriff from bagging some berries that, on closer inspection, did not look very healthy. She also had come across some hardy nut-type things, discarding all but a handful of them (mostly to ask what they were), as they were not edible.

Pansage's nose for plant life was good, because her hybrid senses were being overwhelmed by all there was to take in. The place was positively teeming with Pokémon, most of them unfamiliar to her, and there seemed to be something new to look at everywhere she looked. She'd had to tiptoe around a massive sleeping Snorlax, spotted a few Buizel frolicking down by the riverbank, and scared away some especially flighty Starly.

Her bag nearly full of Berries, Monique was almost back at camp when she heard a crackling sound—and not the crackling of a fire. She turned left to see a small yellow mouse Pokémon with two pointy ears charge at her and Pansage. "Pi pi!"

Pichu. Electric. The Tiny Mouse Pokémon. Pichu stores electricity in the sacs on its cheeks but discharges it... And discharging it was, little crackling bolts emerging from the red spots on its face. Using Quick Attack, it moved toward Pansage before Monique had time to issue a command.

"Vine Whip!" Weuweu summoned green tendrils that slammed into the Pichu across its midsection. However, the mouse got up and executed a Thunder Shock, which finally seemed to send all that electricity the Pokémon couldn't handle somewhere. However, the Electric-type move did little to the Grass-type Pokémon, which looked practically unfazed.

"Vine Whip again!" This time, the Grass-type move seemed to do more to Pichu, the appendages making harder contact—a critical hit. Pichu was slow to get up. She looked in her bag, trying not to let any Berries fall out as she made her way to one of the empty Poké Balls. She threw it toward Pichu, who was captured inside. Three clicks later, Pichu was caught—and hers.

She picked up the ball on the ground, stuffed it in her bag, and made her way to camp, where she emptied the fruits of her foraging, feeding one of the Oran Berries to Weuweu, who scarfed it down and ate it with joy.

***

A few hours later, after pitching in a bit during construction, night had descended on the campsite. Monique looked up, dazed at how many stars she could see. She was still recovering from the shock of not seeing a domed structure loom above her at all times, and now, far from the light pollution of the modern world, the constellations were incredibly visible. They were almost too much for her eyes.

There was little time for stargazing. She'd been given a unique mission: disguise herself as a wild Pokémon and take something from the villagers' camp. It seemed that the people that had set up in the village had little satellite camps for some purpose. From signs like the wooden bridge crossing the river, they had clearly explored the area, even if it was still mostly unspoiled wilderness.

But what was she going to disguise herself as? The Pokémon that she'd seen so far, with the exception of that big Snorlax, were all pretty small creatures. None of them could conceivably carry away one of those big things. Her only hope was going to have to be striking with speed—and looking like a wild Zoroark. Hope they exist here.

Moving quietly, she crept north toward the base camp, marveling at the different Pokémon that were active at night—Drifloon, she was told they were by her SNAG. Hearing they were Ghost/Flying types made her think briefly of her lost Oricorio. She noticed the fire was out at camp and wondered if there was anyone there. However, when she thought she saw something moving out of the corner of her eye, she moved hastily to grab the tent and get out of the way, hoping the cover of nightfall would be better for human eyes than for Zoroark eyes as she dragged it through the grass. A few slumbering Pokémon stirred at hearing the noise, but their attention was not held for long. The tent would need a little bit of repair by the time it got back to base camp, but it would be plenty fine for Monique to sleep in. She just had to hope they didn't start searching for her like some kind of unwanted abomination worthy of nothing more than a life in the wastelands.

Now that she was right next to him. Keiko recognized Darts from the last time they'd met, which didn't last very long, but at the very least, she knew he was a Snagem."Sorry, I got a little carried away," she apologized, a bit woozy from the sudden stop. Breathing heavily, she looked down and focused on catching her breath before she looked up at Darts. "What's going on? Where are we?" she asked, and only then did the memory of going to help the Team during their fight with a strange Pokemon, arriving at the last minute, and getting sucked into some kind of portal appear in her mind. Her limited involvement in the situation left her with no real answer to the questions she asked Darts, however, so she looked up at him, hoping he could fill her in.

"I'm... not sure." The Giratina hybrid answers, trying to catch his breath after running off from the showers of arrows. "It seems like, according to the warm reception I got there, we're not in our own world anymore. And from the taste of the energy around here I would hazard a guess we're not even in the same timeframe."

Reno Vantas
Unfortunately, the need for survival was trumping Beau's more anarchist tendencies. "Alright. We get to that clearing, most everyone should scatter for scouting and food scavenging. Freth, I want you specifically to take a look in the area towards that campsite. See if it can tell us anything about what foods we might accidentally overlook or even what that outpost is for. The rest of you, avoid that area. No need to oversaturate the place when one onlooker will do." Beauregard explained, nodding along as he passed over each hybrid before stopping at Larrimore. "Larrimore, you're on deforestation. Get us some materials cut down for us to build shelter. Don't haul it back immediately though. Just focus on the cutting. The physically stronger hybrids like Darts and Deo or stronger Pokemon can bring them back. Just save your energy for cutting. Once we have enough materials and some of the scavengers are back, they can start trussing together shelters."

Darts hears the orders to go and gather wood and finds himself paired up with the shiny Luxray hybrid that he had met in the kitchen of HQ what seems like ages ago. "Heya... Deo, was it?" He asks. "Are those muscles just for show or are we going to be able to knock down some trees?" The two of them had wandered to an outcropping of ancient pine trees, clearly grown there since time immemorable. They would make perfect wood for shelters if they could get them down, but with only two of them they were going to need to work together to take down and haul these things back to camp. Darts hefts one of his Pokeballs out from inside of his jacket, as while he was perfectly capable of knocking the timber over he didn't feel like doing that AND carrying the things back to camp.

"Come on out, Zweilous!" There's a flash as he tosses the capture capsule, releasing his two headed Dragon.

"Zwei!" It chirps, the two blind heads turning back to look at him in anticipation of his orders.

"Body Slam! Knock down one of those trees!" The Pokemon responds to its trainer's command immediately, the twin-headed dragon locating and demolishing easily the trunk of one of the big oaks, sending it careening down into the undergrowth with a big crash.

The Giratina hybrid looks at Deo, moving to one end of the tree expectantly as he puts a hand on it, getting ready to lift the massive thing. "C'mon then, I don't think one tree is going to do it and we better get a move on."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 08, 2022 10:46 pm
Looking at Darts as he asks about the muscles that Deo, though uncomfortable about it, says to this hybrid. "Well, there is one way I can find out." As he says that, Deo then gets a large log, though extremely light to him and sets it down. He then hits the middle of the log with his arm. As he did this, a loud "CRACK" comes from the log, which is now split in two pieces. After this, Deo then gives a little chuckle as he says to himself "Huh... I never thought I could do that"

[Human Snagem Group]

Amaranth could barely pick up on Sub's whispering as she kept following, glancing over at the hammer strapped to her back briefly. She'd been fortunate not to be asked about it, and figured maybe she didn't pose enough of a threat to them. That, or that she had more sense than most of them by actually having something usable as a weapon. Seeing Kamado was confusing to her, though, swearing that she recognized him more from images she'd seen of Professor Rowan. His response made it clear they were not the same person, though. Having left most of the talking to Sub, she'd settle on taking in what was going to be tasked of the group now that they were in the village.

Kamado's explanations felt like they'd taken hours to complete, and it was already starting to get dark by the time he was done and they got the chance to have something to eat. She had to admit that potato mochi wouldn't have been her first choice for a meal, and probably not her second or third either. Maybe her tenth choice, if option eleven was Qwilfish prepared by an inexperienced chef. She seemed to be getting looks from the villagers now, though, either between the circumstances surrounding how she and the others got here or her less than stellar reception to a staple meal for them.

Or maybe it was the hammer. Maybe they were afraid she'd use it on them? She finally met one of the gazes with one of her own, wondering if she'd calm their concerns or at least stop whatever questions they had burning in their minds. "Hm? Is it this?" She asked after finishing and struggling to swallow another bite, unstrapping the hammer and putting it to the ground, head first. "Can't be too safe traveling around," she remarked, trying to keep to Sub's alibi and quickly picking it up to strap it back in place, her tone sharper than usual. "Can I finish my meal now?"

The meager show was enough to stop potential questions, but did little to stop the glances. Still, she was able to finish eating in relative peace and when she was shown the village's apparent sleeping arrangements, she'd have to concede it probably wasn't going to get much better for some time. Even if there was better, her brief time in the village already showed that they favored function above all else. Sleep would come, but it was poor at best; the bed wasn't much better than directly sleeping on the tatami mats below, but it did remain somewhat cool through the night.

Once morning came, she found herself woken up right on sunrise with the others, and was back at the Galaxy Team's HQ shortly after for more instructions and grilling. Luckily, she'd already been hiding the Pokeballs she had on her thanks to Sub's instruction earlier, but that was the only thing that lessened the intimidation she felt from Cyllene. "We're not the sorts to freeload," she spoke up at one point. "The instructions are clear, we'll do what we can."

Not long after that had she been shuffled out of the HQ with the rest, dipping from the others briefly to get the uniform on. It was certainly different than the clothing she was used to, being stiffer and sturdier. A bit thicker too, all of it as a way of providing better protection from the elements and stray attacks. The head scarf took a bit to finesse onto herself, though, and the shoes were going to be even more of an adjustment. The satchel gave an easier way to hide her stuff, though, leaving just the more primitive balls that were given with the uniform. A hallowed Brown Apricorn and a Tumblestone chipped to fit- whatever those were. She wondered if Ambrosia would be able to explain it better if she ever got the chance to show her one of these.

Putting those into the satchel too, she'd hurry to rejoin the others and Sub, getting to the campsite and following him to the tree. "I had that weird mochi of theirs instead of the stew. Pretty sure that was a mistake," she said in a low tone, trying not to groan as she thought back to last night. "Hopefully the rest were able to get somewhere safe."

She dispersed a bit from the others in her search for the other group, noticing a few Starly not long afterward. She took out one of the balls Cyllene had given her, thinking about trying to catch one to keep putting on a show for the Survey Corps. But, the Starly of this era being much more timid would be alerted from Amaranth's lack of stealth in her walking and promptly hopped some distance away before flying off. Doubting these balls would have any of the tech that went into modern Pokeballs, she'd put it back away for now. Maybe, if anything, something to try a bit later.

Though, when she saw a Shinx emerge from the grass, maybe it wasn't just her movements that made the Starly flee. Unlike those Starly, though, Shinx would take a cursory glance at Amaranth and immediately go on the defensive, trying to rush at her. She was able to get away from the attack without any trouble, but it did startle her a little.

"Guess you're not fond of us, huh?" She asked, reaching into the satchel again. She figured she could run far enough away that the Shinx wouldn't be able or willing to keep up, but feared it wouldn't be worth taking that risk. So instead, knowing no one was around to see her but maybe other Snagems, she decided that knocking the Shinx out was a better strategy and sent out her Fletchinder. "Forge! Flame Charge!"

To her surprise, the Shinx would manage to land an attack before Forge did, getting out a Thunder Shock just before the Flame Charge hit and sent them tumbling. The jolt would be shrugged off for the most part, and the burst of speed meant there was a decent chance that another attack could go before Shinx had a chance to strike back. "Now, before they can recover! Quick Attack!" Her Fletchinder would have enough time to go for the follow up, the speedy tackle catching Shinx before they could get their composure back.

The Pokemon around here being a bit on the weaker side, relatively speaking given everything, Shinx didn't really have the endurance to keep up with Forge. At the very least, they weren't continuing the assault and left him and Amaranth alone from there. Still, this didn't stop her from keeping her hammer ready as soon as she recalled Forge and continued her search. Just in case.

Darts cocks an eyebrow under his crest, impressed at the Luxray hybrid's raw strength despite himself. "Let's get this lumber back to camp then." He returns his Zweilous, and hefts one of the pieces of log over his shoulder, and the two of them proceed back to camp to help supervise building shelters and breaking the logs apart to get enough wood to fashion some makeshift domiciles, adding to the pile provided by Larrimore.

The next day, up and about as the rest of the Snagem camp was rousing in order to get some breakfast in the semi-chilly environment, Darts keeps pace next to Freth. The hybrid had clearly spotted or sensed something on the outskirts of the village and the gambler was willing to bet on her hunch. The Giratina hybrid had a good knack himself for knowing when something was stirring - aside from when he was daydreaming - and he put himself right on the heels of the Galarian Articuno hybrid as she moves towards the village. The realization had started to set in, reinforced by the fact he hadn't gone home once he went to sleep, that they were good and proper trapped here. Darts found this realization unbearable - he had plenty to do back home and not a lot of time to get it done.

After sleeping the night in the tent that she had managed to pilfer from the villagers' camp and being rudely awakened by the decidedly uncoordinated symphony of Kricketot, Monique decided to set out the next morning and try exploring in a different direction. Where she had ventured south along the shore, this time she went inland, northwest, and took stock of the conditions in a narrow gorge shielded from the villagers' base camp by a ridge.

Walking with Kalama, she noticed that the general lay of the land was much the same as what she had seen so far: trees, grass, and rocky outcroppings. When she got to where the valley ended, she noticed there was a patch of flowers that were not doing too well but had been quite clearly planted there. Another sign of human activity, she noted.

As she headed back to camp, not having seen much of anything that was of legitimate interest, she noted how alive things were and compared it to the vast wastelands she knew on Aether Island. This place at least seemed to sustain life, and why wouldn't it? There was no dome to block out half the light, no Smog to keep away from everything, and the environment was far more favorable for plant and Pokémon life. (Well, except those flowers.)

Aile merely kept her rands in her pockets as they were walking, only taking them out to move her staff to its standard resting point between her back and jacket. She raised an eyebrow at Sub’s outburst, flinching when Kamado roared back, making a mental note to probably not piss this man off either. She was thankful that Sub had taken the lead on the explanation, merely doing her best to keep up with everything said to keep her story straight.

The dinner they wound up getting certainly wasn’t the greatest, but she had almost certainly had worse. At least this had notes that shows they at least contemplated seasoning. She wasn’t going to complain either way, though, as they’d probably have to try to hunt and forage otherwise. And well, not be in the village otherwise, but that was another thing entirely. Any looks she might have been getting were mostly ignored, more worried about getting food into her body. Once or twice, she had given a deadpan look back, keeping eye contact until they decided to break it and walk away, probably feeling slightly awkward. She wasn’t terribly interested in making friends here, at least until she was sure that they had absolutely no way home.

After they were shown their rooms for the night, Aile found herself a place to sit near the window, setting her staff up against the wall before she rested her head on her knees. Even after the lights were out for the night, she watched the stars outside with a small smile on her face. “At least the beauty of the night sky’s the same,” she muttered quietly, hoping to not wake anyone as she mused to herself. “All the better when there’s not the glow of city lights to dim the smaller stars. The badlands on a good night… hell, even the desert. They all hold the same kind of beauty. Shame I can’t share the moment with Tati right now. … I hope the others are doing alright, too.” Eventually, she’d find her way to the beds that were here, once again finding her silver lining here. It’s not sand. Or the hard ground. Or even terribly lumpy. Hard, yeah, but there was a decently comfy pillow here.

The next day, Aile still woke up groggy, waking up at first light when there was a banging on her door. “Already? Hell…” She rubbed her eyes and got herself situated as quickly as possible after waking up, running her fingers through her hair in lieu of a comb or brush as she met up and followed the others. Once again, she was simply trying to keep up with explanations of things, having a uniform given to her and sent out once she was changed along with everyone. Following Sub out away from the campsite they found themselves at, she patiently waited, stabbing her staff into the ground and leaning on it as Sub spoke. Though, she glanced between Sub and Amaranth when the subject of food was brought up. “Ah… Am I the only one that hasn’t had any issues with the food?” She was mildly surprised, but then she probably had some food that verged on food poisoning in Orre, so something of an iron stomach might have developed a bit. “Well, regardless. Go hunt down the others? Alright then.” She briefly waved as she walked away from the group, trying to track some of the faint, but more numerous vibrations from what seemed like the forest area. “Well, here goes nothing.”

The area she traveled was harder for her to traverse, all of the roots and some undergrowth making the land uneven and hard to keep solid footing. Her focus was pretty solidly on heaping her balance that she would miss the red caterpillar like creature hanging above her until it fell down and hit her face. “Gaaah!” She flailed her hands around on her face to knock off the Wurmple, staring at it once it was in her vision as more than just some weird white and red blob. “Oh, for the love of… Ya know? This might not be bad. “ She dug in her pouch for a moment, grabbing out a Pokéball and opening it. “Hey, Rancor, time for some exercise. Try starting off with a Take Down!”

“Gib!” The little bright blue Gible cheered and charged forward, raming himself with as much force as he could at the little red Worm Pokemon. This would leave Rancor wide open as the Wurmple recovered, spitting out a slew of purple poisonous darts in a wide area, with even Aile having to jump to avoid some of them. And while Rancor managed to avoid some, there were more that managed to land than not. Also, some of those areas where the needles hit weren’t looking too good.

“Crud, that’s not good… Rancor, wrap this up with a Dragon Rage!” With the command, Rancor belched a large blast of draconic energy, relatively weak overall, but enough to blast the Wurmple away unconcious.

“Right then.” She picked up her little Gible and looked him over, sighing. “Well, hopefully Pecha Berries are a thing at this point in time… Come on, little guy.” Moving onward, she’d now be paying more attenton to the trees, hoping to find a tree with the pink semi heart shaped berries.

Beau would be busying himself with extracting more thread for binding together the necessities as the rest of the group scattered to the tasks he had designated for them. And....did so without any real argument or major effort to do their own thing like he had made an option. The closest to even doing otherwise was seeing Deo and Darts also participating in knocking down some of the trees, which was just simply speeding up the process beyond what he had been expecting. Like....was no one wanting to do something oddball and against the grain because they thought it work better? He'd left them the option to do so, but apparently there were no takers. Pausing his train of thought as he looked to the small bundle of thread he now had, Beau would look to the first pieces of wood that had been brought in and quickly organized them into larger pieces for creating shelter and smaller pieces to help fuel a small fire if they needed the warmth. Setting up with the pieces of wood once he finished sorting, the Vivillon hybrid set to work binding a few pieces together into a small self-supporting peak.

While keeping his hands busy, his train of thought kept moving. Was he the strange one since he would've always taken the do what he wanted option to try and help out? It's not like life in La Ruche had been terribly bad on most days, but it always stuck with him how little they wanted to have people outside of their set roles. He ended up the town pariah up until him and Larry had left because he kept wanting to do things his way. And it wasn't like he hated the gardening that he had been designated for. Explosive powder worked just as well for fertilizing plants as it did for obliterating structures. It was the pure lack of options he had been offered when explosives had caught his interest that irked him. Finishing up the second frame, Beau would refocus on the camp construction as he moved the two tripods across from each other. Placing another branch to sit across the tops of the two tripods, Beau would quickly set to work leaning sticks against this setup and create a small tent of sorts out of the pieces of wood. It would only take a few replications to get enough shelter setups for the small group, although it wouldn't be able to stand up to rain without something else for a cover. And as this thought crossed his mind, Beau would soon see the larger leaves and general foliage that Keiko had located. Giving a quick nod, he would set back to work as he began to run thread through the leaves to help bind them down to the small lean-tos.

As he once again slipped into a task he could complete in a rote fashion, his thoughts would resume. And they would quickly focus in on his place in Snagem. While he had definitely felt like pushing against the leadership when he had originally joined, it had almost been as automatic as his current labours creating the shelters. He had had his less than stellar experiences with La Ruche's leadership and his downright abhorrent interactions with the general Kalos leadership, so any leadership was 'bad'. That wasn't aided by finding Larrimore was already a member in their ranks after the terms they had left each other on, but he was at least willing to own up to that bias against them even before his small introspection right now. But with how free he had been able to go during his time with Snagem, he could see how some common direction and having someone to coordinate that direction could be a boon. Unless that direction was never applying explosive solutions to problems. Then there was going to be some harsh words and harsher kabooms in protest.

Stepping back as he finished up the first tent, Beau gave a nod as he examined it. Apparently, despite his best efforts, he had learned some things from his days training for gardenwork and basic shelter construction. I mean, he kind of had to adhoc the tripod support structure when there were no good y-shaped trunks for creating the central support to lean everything against, but it was at least stable. Now all he had to do was repeat it. At least.....six more times if no one wanted to share. This might take a while. Grabbing one of the Oran Berries that Keiko had brought back and taking a bite of it, Beau mentally prepared to keep this up. And after the majority of the structures were done, he gave himself another break, this time piling up the smaller sticks and brush, giving it a small dusting of Powder, and igniting it with an Ember from his Charmeleon, Zippo.

----

Waking up with a start, Beau would be examining his pockets before he even rose from the slightly uncomfortable sleep he had been in. Apparently, his happiness with his tents had made him forget how much it sucked for him to lay on the hard ground with his wings. But he couldn't be bothered by that right now. He had just remembered what he had been tinkering with before they ended up on their trip to this place and it could be very useful. Giving a small cheer as he finally found it, Beau pulled out the pyrotechnic star he had pocketed. While it was certainly not subtle, if they needed to get the others to find them quickly, this was their ticket. Because firing a ball of purple light that would explode with a bang into a giant circle of purple sparks should be a sign to the Snagems about the who and the where. Conversely, it would also tell their other friends that an unholy monster was attempting to crack the world in two but that would be an issue to deal with later. And that was assuming it even came down to that. Either way, he would be busying himself constructing a launching tube for the pyrotechnic star. While the wooden one he was fashioning wouldn't survive repeated use, it would last long enough to get the one shot out to alert people

And based off how cagey and quiet Freth got, it might be time to get that shot prepared. Slowly following behind the Galarian Articuno hybrid, Beau would palm his lighter and get ready to light the homemade firework.

Wren would find himself transported into the building and down into the medical wing, where he would be introduced to a young woman with pink hair who reminded him very much of someone every Pokemon trainer was familiar with. "Nurse Joy?" He asked as he was aided onto a small cot.

"I don't know any 'Joy' but I'm the head medical officer for the Galaxy Team. Sorry about this, by the way. Bite." The woman introduced herself, shoving a bundle a herbs into his mouth. He attempted to complain until she placed her hands on his leg and the shaft of the arrow in his leg at the same time. The sudden shock sent him into a momentary convulsion from the pain rocketing through him. The result was to bite down on the bundle of herbs with extreme eagerness. He didn't care what they were, exactly but after only a few minutes of biting, during which Peselle continued manhandling his wounded leg, he began to notice a small amount of relief from the pain.

"Feeling better? Good." The nurse stated as she began to move. The arrowhead appeared to have missed the bone but it wasn't all the way through the meat of the muscle. Which meant this was going to go one of two ways. She knew how the arrows used by the gate guards worked but she didn't have as much experience with removing them since most of what got shot with them wasn't meant to have said arrows removed. These were barbed. "Even with those herbs, this is going to hurt." She warned, motioned a few of the other officers over. "Restrain him, quickly. I need to push the arrow the rest of the way through or he'll never heal."

Wren froze for a second at that. Push it the rest of the way through? It had hurt bad enough when it had punctured his body at flight speed. And she was going to push it the rest of the way through manually? He immediately began trying to get off the cot, prompting the remaining medical officers to come to Peselle's aid, throwing their weight onto his limbs and holding him down with surprising ease as he attempted to thrash about. The moment Peselle began to push the arrow, however, he spasmed yet again, biting down on the herbs still in his mouth. Through clenched teeth, he screamed loud enough that he was likely able to be heard all the way outside the building's upper floors and partway through the small settlement. Said screaming would continue for several minutes before they began to abate. "Bring me the powder. Let's see if this stuff works." Peselle instructed one of the other officers as Wren lay on the cot, painting heavily, tears streaming down his face. Said medical officer ran off to one of the shelves upon which the medical corps supplies were stored and returned in short order with a covered bowl filled with a blue-white powder. "Masks on." Removing the cover from the bowl as the other officers tied clothes around their faces, she removed a pinch of the powder and threw it in a small cloud at Wren's face. The result was near instant snoring from the man.

"That should keep him out while we bandage him up, if the survey corps is right about this 'Sleep Powder'." Peselle stated as she covered the powder bowl once more and handed it off to another officer once again. "Return to your stations. I can handle it from here."

~~~
Wren would wake up from the primitive surgery a few hours later, bandages wound tightly around his leg and a can by the bedside for him. "Your friends have been busy. Commander Kamado is allowing you lot to eat and sleep here for the night but you're to prove you can earn your keep at first light. Go join your friends outside for a meal and then I suggest you try to sleep. Injured or not, you'll be expected to pull your weight." Peselle explained to him once he was awake, as he was testing the movement of his leg. "Also, these should help with the pain but they're only so effective." She handed him a small glass bottle with a bunch of green beads inside.
"How often should I take them?" Wren asked as he accepted what were obviously primitive pain pills. "Any time the pain is unbearable. They should make it tolerable for a while." Peselle responded. "Take the cane. You'll probably need it for a while, at least. Possibly for life."
~~~

After a long and restless night, Wren would find himself being awakened alongside the other Snagems, hobbling along with them thanks to the use of the cane and the pills Peselle had given him. "I don't even remember what I ate but I doesn't seem to have caused me any distress. Then again... I barely ate anything with the pain I'm in..." He admitted, indicating his bandaged leg and cane supporting it. "If we're looking for the others, I'd be glad to look and see what's around but I don't recall bringing Nutmeg so my springs aren't available if I'm recalling how my channeling works correctly." He explained. "Not that I'd be able to use them if they were with this leg injury. I should've been more careful." He groaned and hung his head at this before he began to hobble off in search of the others, following the paths that seemed least likely to cause him further harm or be too difficult to traverse. His leg was too stiff to bend it much with the wound so fresh so he wasn't getting very far at first until he checked his Pokeballs and recalled one he'd brought along that would be helpful here.

Ensuring he was far enough away that the villagers and their fears wouldn't be a problem, he released Asphodel and carefully climbed onto the Sawsbuck's back. "I'll explain later. For now, we're searching for a party of hybrid Snagems. And avoiding any humans who aren't part of the team." Asphodel nodded and began to walk around as Wren watched for signs of the hybrid group's campsite. Once Asphodel had been released, however, Wren suddenly found a distinct absence of wild Pokemon, every one nearby seemingly fleeing from the sight of the strange cervine Pokemon he was now riding.

Leon was a bit shocked with the look alike for Professor Rowan. He listened to what he said as he was glancing around for any weapons that they would use on them. When they finally made it to there own little stay, Leon sighed of relief. He looked at his Alolan Ninetails as it stretched and yawned. "Alright, time to take a rest" He said as he pulled out a Pokeball and returned Shiro into her ball.

Next Day

Leon yawned loudly as he got up with his messy hair. He looked around, as he somehow woke up early. He changed his clothes as he got out and started walking around the area. The village was pretty small, but cozy. "...Really starting to miss home." He said as he noticed somebody from the Galaxy Team coming to their group to grab them to . They were then sent to a camp to go look for the other half of their team.

"I'm gonna go this way." Leon said as he pointed east from the campsite. Leon said as he started walking that way. As he was, he heard someone speaking Alolan. He turned his head as one of the villagers with glasses was waving to him. An Alolan? Here? Leon merely waved back as the villager started walking towards him. "I'd notice an Alolan anywhere." "Am I...Am I that noticeable?" [coor=darkblue]"Well you're a bit on the lighter side. But yep! True Alolan!" The villager said as both of them merely spoke a bit before Leon started walking off again.

The Poison Channeler would look around as he noticed a group of Eevees playing around in a field. He merely chuckled as he felt a Pokeball break open as his own Eevee cheered happily. The little fox pranced over to the group, as they saw Leon's Eevee. They were a little bit afraid of her for some odd reason. They all ran away as Leon's Eevee's ears and tails went down. Leon walked over to her and merely patted it's head. "Don't take it personally. We are just strangers here anyways."
