"Hmm, this should suffice to fool even the stronger of beasts senses" Kael muttered to himself as he followed after her, catching up next to her in only a few steps. "I suppose that it will be my coin to supply you with a drink, as a way of thanks even if your company comes with a cost" Kael said as a toothy grin marked his face. "Now then Aurum. Concerning the mage who you traded with. Is there any details that you may be able to remember of him, or her?" The town they were heading towards in the distance was starting to come into view. It wouldn't be long before they arrived.

The dragon was always up for something free, and a drink was exactly what she had requested. Seeing his grin, Aurum smiled back to him briefly. "I would like that, thank you," The smile vanished as soon as more questions about the mage arose, and the small girl sighed. If he wanted the truth, she couldn't remember because she was intoxicated for the trade. Both the stone she brought with her and the wand were the items of the trade and she knew that had she been in her sober state, she would have never made the exchange. Perhaps having a drink would help her remember the details.. Even if it doesn't, I could just make something up after I've had one.. or four, She thought, and glanced back to 'John' with a thoughtful expression, "They were taller than me," She commented, keeping her tone and face very serious.

"So we are looking for someone that fits the description of more the half the known world in your present form. In your other form, I dare not want to find the creature you would have traded with, let alone find why they were called a mage. Should the next helpful insight be that they wore a cloak and carried a staff?" Her quip was quickly countered by his own as he kept his pace. He hadn't caught her expression for once as he was thinking about what little they had to go on narrowing down the mage by race as best he could. As they spoke between the each other the town came upon them. It was bustling as the the mid day sun now beat down upon them. That a war was happening miles away from it was something few could likely tell, minus the wounded soul on the street here or there.

"It was more of a wand, really," Remarked the girl, giving a little huff through her nostrils. Seeing that he had been quick with reply, she thought it best if she was just as hasty with hers. She tolerated all of his remarks just to have more of her own to shoot back to him, it seemed. Aurum nodded to passing people as they met her eyes and as they entered into the town. More beasts than humans, perhaps it was a wise choice for 'John' to change his shape. The dragon stopped him gently, giving a nod to the tavern to the right of them. "We should stop here first, though I do hope you can keep up," It was her turn to flash the man a grin, and in turn revealed that some of her teeth were, in fact, very sharp. Even in her humanoid form, the dragon could easily take a nice chunk out of someone. She wondered how often the human drank a beasts' brew.

Looking down, Kael noted her smile. He also noted the several razor sharp teeth that were still evident from her transformation. Her quip at him keeping up was likely a challenge at drinking. One that he would properly decline once it came to it. Magical illusions and drinking were not something that usually went well with one another. He did wonder what a drunken dragon may look like tho, but when the thought of her transforming and stumbling about came to him. He was quick to try to shake it from his mind on account of damage likely to be incurred. "Ladies first" Kael said pushing the door of the tavern open for Aurum to enter into.

Her expression seemed to shift to puzzled for only a moment before he held the door and allowed her entrance. The dragon would be sure to unwind a little here at the very least, but she knew in the back of her mind she really did need to remember more about the mage. Why not do both at once? She entered and moved through the half-full tavern at a pace that suggested that she might have been in the establishment a time or two, and found a table in a less-crowded area for the both of them to relax away from any commotion. By the time Kael might have sifted through the tables and chairs, Aurum was already finishing up getting the both of them drinks.. and by the time he reached the table a woman was already placing two medium sized (about 12oz) drinks on said table for the both of them. The drinks were a deep red color with black swirls decorating the center and resembling something similar to an eye. Of course, it was only a decoration, but it was interesting none the less. And the price wasn't too bad, which the woman asked for from Aurum's wolfish companion. Still sitting, the dragon grinned at 'John' once more.

With Aurum in the establishment, Kael follower her in. She was however with her smaller stature easily able to move thru the semi crowded bar. He however did not have as much of an easy time moving thru. A few times he caught a few looks but those were quickly diverted as he gave each a vicious snarl mimicking the wolf morph he had become. By the time he made his way to be able to see the woman she had already gotten their drinks and been served by the time that he had sat. "Right" he muttered as the waitress asked him for the compensation for the drink to which he payed quickly before looking over at her. "I don't remember saying that I would be partaking of such things, simply that I would satiate your thirst." Looking at the drink that sat in front of him he could smell it from where he sat. While it didn't seem like it was priced to badly the scent belayed it's likely potent strength.

"Scared?" Mocked the dragon, eyeing him with interest as he seemed to decline the drink already. "At least have a few sips, the first are always the best of this brew," The black decoration was very sweet, almost deceptively so. Aurum picked up her drink carefully, holding it up just slightly. She was still grinning to the wolfish tutor, and she seemed to speak with a sense of determination, though slight, "To getting what we want," Which was what she always implied from the beginning. The dragon was more than happy to be in a familiar place, and drinking a familiar drink.. and very happy to not pay for it from her own purse. Aurum was an easily pleased soul, and simply clinking glasses and taking even a drink or two would satisfy her enough to drink more herself.

Reaching his paw around the glass Kael looked it over a bit. The closer it was now the stronger the scent had become. It was sweet smelling but the alcohol scent was their hiding itself behind the sweet odor. "To getting what we want" Kael nodded clicking the glass as he pulled it to himself. Should he drink it he wondered or simply place it to the side. If he didn't Aurum would likely continue to goad him the entirety of their trek. Lifting the drink to his lips Kael took a sip. As he suspected the drink was strong, what he didn't expect was that it went down smoothly which was pleasant atleast. Setting the drink down infront of him he wiped his mouth.

Tapping her glass on the table after he tapped it, she lifted it to her mouth and took a decent swig herself, leaving less than half after her initial drink. Aurum watched the man before her with some interest as he set the drink down and wiped his mouth. "It's good, don't you think?" She commented, placing her arms over each other on the table. She glanced about the tavern for a moment and then looked back to Kael. "I'll pay for the next round if you finish it in the next few minutes," She gave a little laugh, and then picked up and finished off her own drink, tapping it on the table once before setting it down. The dragon was always up for a challenge and was no stranger in handing them out herself. She wondered if the human could even handle the drinks she frequented, but that would be found as soon enough. After all, once you got started on it with a dragon, it was hard to stop.

As he figured the goading would continue if he didn't finish the drink. Sighing slightly Kael grabbed his glass as he slammed back the entirety of it in a single swig before slamming the glass down. "I suppose the next one will come from your pocket then" Kael said again wiping his mouth. He was likely going to regret this soon if things continued going on in this direction. The drink was strong but for the moment he would be able to hold the drink. If it would atleast get his companion off his back for a bit. He was thinking of a spell that would help him in such a matter with the alcohol and could think of a few but when to use them would be key.

Tossing up two fingers and looking towards the woman that had served them before, the dragon licked her lips of the remnants of their first drink, "Perhaps after this we can go to the market," She mentioned, eyeing his expressions and seeming a little curious before reality came back. And by that, she meant that the barmaid had returned and swapped out their empties for new drinks, similar to the last, and requested payment once more. Aurum went into her pack and her gold pouch, paying and tipping the woman before she looked to the man once more. With enough time, the girls cheeks were a very, very faint peachy pink. The dragon held up her glass again and waited for the wolf to tap with her before she took a much smaller sip than with the first drink. Choosing a deceptively strong drink was her way to help herself remember.. if that would even work. When she put the gold pouch back in her pack, her fingers grazed the stone and she, like Kael, was suddenly very thoughtful. She seemed to recall talking of the stone's significance, but with who or what she wasn't sure. She did, however, look back up to 'John' and flash him a coy smile as she remember a possibly important detail, though minute, "I do seem to recall that mage missing their right thumb.." She took another small sip, eyeing him over the brim of her drink.

"His right thumb? Well that atleast narrows it down quite a bit" Kael said rubbed his chin. "I can't say it's the best information but it's enough to get some what of a lead." Looking at the drink that had been set in front of him, the mage sighed. She was planning completely to turn this into some kind of competition which he would be at the losing end of if he let it go at her pace. "It would be helpful to head there afterwards. Sipping the drink Kael closed his eyes as he thought about a few things. Setting the drink down he looked over at Aurum. "So then, as you sate yourself on alcohol. Does any other detail come to mind of our friend?"
PostPosted: Mon Apr 04, 2016 10:11 pm

Aurum gave a little shrug when he mentioned her information not being the best, not offended enough to do anything about it. She leaned back just some in her chair, stretching one arm out but relaxed, letting it barely touch his side of the table. Her other hand tapped a single finger on the glass, pursing her lips as she mulled over his suggestion and questions. The dragon's pink cheeks got a smidgen deeper with each passing moment, though it was still faint and she still had drinks to consume. "They were fond of dark alleyways," The girl said in jest, having trouble containing her smile. Aurum was at least more playful and friendly the more she drank, at least he could be thankful for that. She took another small sip and set the drink down once more, giving a little dismissive shake or her unoccupied hand, "But enough of this for now. I will think of more in the travels there. Why is this book so important to you?" She was tired of being prodded so much, she flipped it to him instead.

Again she gave a jest remark. Would she remember more actual facts if she was given more alcohol he wondered. His thoughts were broken tho when she asked him of the reason behind the book. "It's a rarity" he said simply leaning back in his chair. He rested both his hands on his side of the table, taking note of her flushed cheeks in the process. What ever the drink contained was slowly starting to get to Aurum it seemed, strange that he should have likely felt something by now. "The book is something hinted to me by only those who have heard tales of it. I am as much of a collector of books and tomes as you are of collecting random bits of treasure, odds, and ends." He didn't want to stay on the subject of why he needed the book for very long. Seeing that her glass was nearly empty he flagged down the waitress, getting another of the same thing for just her as his own drink had not been touched since the last.
