This attraction from the hordes of Pokemon was flattering sightly, but it was getting to be a bit much. Ace hadn't suspected this would happen so often. Nearly as soon as the Psyduck were fallen, a group of Roselia took their place. "Fia, dear." Ace called for his Braxien. She held forward her wand stick, ready to fight. However, taking the foxes place, Derosa stepped forward, aiming a Heart Stamp at one of the Roselia. "Derosa, I didn't ask for you to fight." Ace stated flatly. The rose-handed Pokemon turned to look back at him with a glare before she turned back to the battle. "Alright, if you don't mind beating up your own species, go right on ahead." He stated, folding his arms.
During Derosa's fight, Ace went over his team layout. As far as training goes, he felt he wasn't going to be using Luce as much as he'd wanted to do at the moment, so he brought up Nova to his active party. He'd neglected his starter and that wasn't right in his book. Unknowingly to Ace as of yet, getting Nova up to snuff was just what he needed for the next gym.

It hardly seemed like Derosa needed to try at all. She won in the end, returning to Ace for some well deserved potions. The battle might not have ended as quickly as Amarantha's last bout, but it certainly seemed like Derosa had things handled. Perhaps she wasn't fond of seeing other Roselia approaching Ace? Whatever the case, Ace was somewhat impressed. She at least looked back to her normal self with her prim 'higher-than-thou' attitude back. "You've got a pretty strong Roselia, to manage a horde like that so easily." Came a voice from ahead of Ace. A male, dawned it a suit mentioned, a grin spread wide across his lips he looked like he was conniving something devious. Spraying a few potions over Derosa, the male stood with Derosa on his hand. "Yes, she is very strong, and graceful as well. " Ace replied, earning a thankful grin from Ace. The male on the other hand frowned. "She's got some odd colours though, kinda ugly." Ace narrowed his eyes. "What would you know about it? That suit looks tailored by a five-year old." Ace replied, a insult the man seemed to be bothered by, though he quickly hid it with a returned grin. "I'll tell my tailor, now for the reason I approached a weasle-looking man like you, I want to fight." It was Ace's turn to grin. 'Weasel-looking man huh? Well, it's not far from the fact.' Setting Derosa onto his shoulder, he beconeed the man forward. "Very well, let us fight."

Stepping forward Ace accepted the five berries, frowning at his poor reward. The two men exchanged a look before a sigh came from the other man. "And I guess I can heal your Pokemon too... Not the poisoned one though, you'll need a nurse for that." Ace wasn't one to accept help from strangers, and this wasn't the time he'd change his mind on that. "I'll manage on my own." Jay reached the mountain side and felt along the side, clicking his tongue, until he reached the entrance to the cave. His eyes opened, still unseeing, of course, and he turned, stepping in and keeping his hand on the wall. 'Whoa it's dark,' he could hear Mime Jr think, which brought a somewhat cynical smile to his face. He had absolutely no concept of what that meant. "So Jesse, you're riding on Mary Lee's back now? I thought you were getting used to flying!" the little pokemon inquired, walking along with her teammates, looking curiously up at the beedrill, trying to spot her through the darkness. Jay, meanwhile, closed his eyes again, feeling... not tired, but relaxed, listening and continuing to click his tongue, giving him a good impression of the tunnels. He would, unfortunately, likely end up wandering a bit, since he really had no sense of what direction to go to get through, but... he'd figure it out, eventually. And maybe he could do some training in the mean time.

The man frowned, returning his pokemon. Jay, meanwhile, crossed his arms over his chest, saying nothing. He seemed to assume Mime Jr was listening in on his thoughts, and instructed that way, and indeed, she glanced up, then happily bounded forward as Tod was returned, to take over. She readied herself, waiting until her opponent was sent out. Once she saw the Phanpy, though, she leaped up, sucking in a big breath, and then blowing out a chilling gust of wind, knocking the pokemon out instantly.

Jay's brow furrowed a bit as his pokedex read the next pokemon-- Phione. A water type, apparently, but he was pretty sure Mawile could handle it. "Alright Mawile, yer up," he instructed, Mime Jr happily skipping back to stand with Mary Lee and Jesse, while Jay released the other pokemon. The fairy-steel type appeared, ready for action, arms out to his sides with fists curled in. He spun part way around, the toothed appendage on his head lifting, teeth at the ready to bite down. Jay probably would have admired the odd mix of cute and absolutely intimidating, but... well.... He couldn't really see it, and an echo wouldn't have given him much impression for that kind of thing.

Deciding to check in with Mawile, Jay kept his pokedex pointed out, but crossed his arms over his chest, tipping his head slightly. "Yew alright t'go, Mawile?" he inquired. "Maw!" the pokemon confirmed. Please! He hadn't been hit THAT bad! He was COMPLETELY fine! And not even slightly dizzy. But it was okay-- the next pokemon that came out was very easy to defeat. He'd be done with this guy's pokemon in no time!

The third pokemon was noticeably more difficult. Mawile clamped down hard on it, but... it was so fluffy, it was hard to really tell how much damage he did. As he leaped back, the pokemon rammed into him, sending him summersaulting back. Shaking his head, though, he climbed to his feet, fuming a bit, and rushing forward, without Jay having to even tell him anything. He leaped up, spun and brought the teethed head down hard, taking one last Bite, and successfully knocking the pokemon out. He shook his head a bit and stepped away, crossing his arms and giving a sharp nod of approval as the pokemon fainted. Ha! Three pokemon down for the count! THAT was how you battled!

The man sighed, returning his last pokemon, and Jay knelt down, figuring, by his response, that that was the end of the battle. "Good job, Mawile," he congratulated, smiling lazily in the direction of the pokemon. He reached over, carefully, and patted the pokemon, the head, clicking his tongue a bit as he stood. "Ah take it ye'll show us thuh way through now?" he questioned the older man, raising an eyebrow though his expression was hardly visible in the dark. The man nodded, clearly still oblivious to Jay's... situation. "Yeh, deal's a deal," he agreed reluctantly.

While Jay moved along with the man up ahead-- and temporarily let out Zoey, so he wouldn't have to click his tongue while they walked-- Mawile hung back a bit. He walked alongside, but a small distance away from, Mime Jr and Mary Lee, and stared up at Jay while they walked. "You did pretty good out there!" Mime Jr piped up, smiling over at him. He twitched and leaned away, looking over at her uncertainly. "U-uhm... Th... thanks..." he muttered, slowly lowering his arm a bit, and relaxing, still eying her warily. She was already looking ahead, though, skipping and hurrying along to try and keep up with their trainer's much longer strides.

Upon arriving, Jay nodded, thanked the man, and listened to him leave, starting to walk before suddenly stopping by the exit, and kneeling down. "Mawile, c'mere," he called back to the pokemon, who looked wary, but bounded over, looking curiously at what Jay had in his hands. Oh! That was the communication device he'd used to message his sister!.
"Think ah got uh message. Wanted ya t'be here when ah listened tuh it, 'n respond," he explained, then opened the message, eyes closed as he listened. He frowned as something seemed to distract Du-- one of her pokemon, maybe? Mawile, however, could see what was happening, and stared with mouth slightly open, eyes half closed and a look of dumbed disbelief on his face. What....
Jay, on the other hand, was getting almost nothing. He could hear Du and he could hear her pokemon chattering, one of which was a Mawile, undoubtedly the sister, with others in the background. He lifted his head as Dumuzi returned to the device and ended the call, shaking his head a bit, but then programming up a response.

"Howdy Dumuzi," he started, still crouched down with his Mawile beside him, arms crossed, "Sorry it took me so damn long t'reply... Ah been caught up'n uh few things. Sounds like yer pok'mon were givin' ya some trouble, hope things're alright otherwise." He turned his head a little, towards Mawile. "Don' think ahm really thuh one with much t'say, though, so... Here, Mawile," he added, moving the device to focus more on the pokemon. "Sis! Did I hear that human call you by some nickname!?" Mawile immediately barked, leaning towards the device. He stopped then leaned back, deadpanning a little. "... And I see your ego hasn't shrunk at all. You don't have to worry about me," he added, crossing his arms, flushing a little as he closed his eyes and tried to look tough, "I, I've got this completely handled. By the time I'm done training, I'll be the one kicking butt!" He dropped his arms down, looking at the camera with a frown, a mix of worry, concern, and an attempt at stoic washed into his expression. "You just take care of yourself, alright? Let me know if that weird human of yours does anything," he added, then nodded to Jay.
Jacque pulled the device over a little, but was frowning towards Mawile a bit. "Ya better've been polite..." he muttered, almost as if he knew what the pokemon had said-- and maybe he did, Mime Jr was still out, after all. Mawile flinched, stiffening and leaning away, sweating a bit in panic, but Jay turned his attention back to the device. "Look forward t'hearin' from ya again, Dumuzi. Take care," he finished, before closing the recording, and sending it.
That done, he straightened up, heading for Cyllage.
