It looked like Avonlea and Sable already went off to take care of business. Whatever business that was, he wasn't sure. Letting out his team, he watched them play as he thought about how much he'd need to train them before they could take on Brock. Awhile later, Sable came in and handed over her team to be treated. Had she just come from the gym, or did she do some serious training? Grabbing his bag, Ezra stood and walked over to her and Jin, his four Pokemon following in a game of Follow the Leader."Hey....Did you challenge Brock, or are they being treated after training? Your team, I mean."She probably knew that, so Ezra probably didn't have to clarify.

Sable looked around when she heard Ezra ask her a question, since she didn't see the teen when she entered the building. Once she finally did see him, she offered the blonde a sheepish grin while ignoring Jin's snickering."Yeah, we faced Brock. Managed to beat him, too,"she answered, prompting a wry smirk from Jin as she spoke."Yeah, seems she had the battle figured out before she even stepped in the door. That Onix still caused her team a couple of problems, though,"the disguised Zorua added, chuckling slightly afterwards.
Sable had a rather tight-lipped look as she glanced over at Jin, having to keep from saying the first thing that popped into her head. She was saved from having to come up with an alternate choice of words when she heard her name being called. The teen started to stand, but Jin was a bit quicker in getting up."I'll get those for ya, sis,"he offered, although it could also be taken as insisting due to him not waiting for a reply before heading over to the counter. The red-haired teen sighed lightly as she sank back into her seat, then smiled somewhat as she looked back at Ezra."Since I didn't see you at the gym, I'm guessing you were doing some training instead."

Avonlea continued through Pewter with Mikhail and Decadus following, as the Pidgey was perched on Mikhail's head comfortably. She eventually let her team out to play, and even Alisha got up to play. However, she was suddenly greeted by a Klefki that flew over and perched itself in her sight."Oh....Can I help you?""Ki!"The Klefki suddenly attacked Decadus with Foul Play, knocking the Pidgey out instantly. Avonlea's eye widened before she glared at the Klefki."Decadus!"Mikhail ran over and looked at the Bird Pokemon. He was out cold, and hurt horribly. That angered the Charmander, and he shot an Ember at Klefki, but it dodge."Screw this. Mikhail, challenge that key hoarding delinquent to an official battle!""Kiki, hurry and take care of them!"What the hell? Who was that? Avonlea looked around, but saw no one in particular. Just a couple of passersby that were watching the strange encounter. Well, it didn't matter.

Avonlea returned Valentina when she fell unconscious from Klefki's Mirror Shot. The Sylveon was her last usable Pokemon, too."Damn....What kind of coward sends out a Pokemon twenty times stronger than those of their opponent's and then ducks out of sight? Show yourself!"Avonlea's eye scanned the crowd until Liliana let out a "bébé" to warn her. She heard the sound of metal being unsheathed and turned quickly, just barely being able to counter the sword strike with her own blade. After kicking her attacker away, Avonlea looked the woman over as Klefki flew over to check on her."No one told me I'd be going after another swordswoman. I'm impressed. You were able to counter my attack.""Thank you. I trained with a group of Gallade near my home everyday."
Avonlea's eye then narrowed as she refocused her attention on the more pressing matter. She lifted her sword and held it an inch from the woman's face."Drop the act. You tried to kill me, and you nearly had my team killed as well. I don't want flattery. I want blood, and a ton of it. You think I'm going to let you get away with what just happened?""Someone's a sore loser. Are you like this for all your lost battles?""Shut up. You and I both know that battle was rigged from the beginning. You knew my team had no chance against your Klefki."The woman looked up at Avonlea, and they both knew Avonlea was dead on. The flower-eyed albino was suddenly knocked onto her back with one swift leg, and the two women's positions were quickly switched."I've never fought against another swordswoman before. At least, not seriously. I kind of feel bad, but I have a contract to fulfill. A life for a life. Or, in your case, two."
An assassin? Well, it made sense why she'd take care of Avonlea's team first. Gripping her sword, Avonlea was ready to fight back; even as the other's sword was cutting into her cheek. However, the woman was saved by a very unexpected hero. Diving from the sky, a Fletching managed to lodge its beak right into the assassin's hand, making her drop the sword."Son of a--What the hell!?""Fletch! Fletch-liiing!"The Fletching suddenly flew at her again, pecking viciously at her while also letting out what sounded like chirps of psychotic joy. It was enough to make the woman and her Klefki run off, as it was clearly an unexpected development. Avonlea stood, holding her cheek as it bled. What the hell was that about?"Fletch!""...What? Are you expecting a thank you?"Fletching glared up at Avonlea and she gave a grin."I owe you one, Dito. I guess your sadism can be useful sometimes."Avonlea went over and picked Alisha up, who had hid behind a trashcan during the fight. She was scared again. Damn that woman."Who are you?""Uh. Dito, duh. A literally just said that not five seconds ago."
Avonlea picked up her bag and items before making her way back to the Pokemon Center. She kept her gaze down, her mind completely fixed on figuring out who that woman was. Walking up the counter, she handed over the four PokeBalls."Oh, my...! What happened, Miss Roselum? Did someone attack you?""Don't. Please, just take care of my team. I'm scared they may have been hurt horribly."Avonlea watched Joy go into the back to examine and treat her team before she turned and went to sit and wait. The woman spotted Ezra, Sable, and Jin, but being sure she didn't want to be bombarded with questions or worry them, she avoided them.

She handed in all her PokeBalls, save for Liliana's, and then went to sit away. She clearly noticed them, so why didn't she wave or something? Did something happen to upset her?

Sable chuckled a bit as Ezra explained that he had not only caught a new Pokemon, but would need to train it and the rest of his team up."Yeah... Both of Brock's Pokemon were fairly tough, and they both had that blasted Sturdy ability. Had to let Scoundrel wear down his Onix with Assist before finishing the fight. I'd definitely recommend training before... Trying... To..."Obviously, the red-haired teen had more to say than that, but she trailed off as she saw Avonlea enter the Pokemon center and head straight for the counter. The woman didn't even so much as glance at any of the group members until her Pokemon were taken to be healed.
Jin had just retrieved Sable's Pokemon and turned to walk back when he had to step aside for a rather troubled-looking Avonlea. That might not have been how she actually felt, but there weren't many other ways for the disguised Zorua to interpret walking with eyes glued to the ground. Someone like that either had sensitive eyes or didn't want to make eye contact with other people, and since the woman hadn't shown any signs of irritation while walking with the group and was most definitely not shy, it was obvious to the Pokemon that something had happened recently that bothered the one-eyed woman. He considered asking what was wrong, but given the woman's cold reception to Nurse Joy asking the same thing, he just let the albino go and sit by herself.
Sable watched Avonlea from where she sat for a while, at least until Jin came over and handed the teen her Pokemon. It was only after she got the Pokemon back that she stopped looking at the albino and clipped the balls onto her belt that she looked over at Jin."Let me guess. She doesn't want to talk about what trashed most of her team?"she asked the disguised Zorua with a quiet yet serious voice, seeming to take on a bit of the frost Avonlea had brought to the atmosphere. She watched as the dark-haired male nodded, then stood up and stretched briefly."Figures..."
Sable glanced over at Avonlea as she bent down to grab her bag, then looked at Ezra as she shouldered the pack."At risk of seeming like the insensitive person in the room, I'm gonna head out to do some more training. It'll give her time to decide if she wants to let us in on what happened or not,"she said with the same quiet voice she had when she asked Jin about what had happened, then started to head for the building's exit. Jin couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, then gave Ezra a light shrug before heading off after his trainer."Hey! Wait for me!"
Once outside of the Pokemon center, Sable went over to its side and leaned against it while waiting for Jin to follow after her. When he did catch up to the teen, the disguised Zorua cocked his head as he looked her over."I'd have thought you would be worried about her. Or at least curious,"he said, his words earning an irritated snort from the female."Of course I am. On both counts, too. I'm even more worried because she probably won't tell us even if we press her,"she scoffed, then glanced at the door to the Pokemon center before looking back at Jin."I also know that people aren't apt to drag strangers into their problems. Even though we seem to be all happy and friendly with one another right now, we're still strangers to her, as is Ezra. We'll learn more if we just wait and let things unfold."

Ezra could see why she left. Avonlea wasn't willing to talk about it yet. So, he wouldn't pry either."Agatha, Tödlich, return."He returned the two Pokemon and went outside to continue training. However, he was stopped when he saw Leben trotting down the street, carrying his ball on his antlers, the string tied to the Master Ball keeping it from falling."It's about time you got back, Leben.""You worry too much. I told you, I was going somewhere safe."

Sable glanced over towards the entrance of the Pokemon center again when she heard the doors slide open and saw that Ezra had left the building. It looked like he was going to go train some more, and Sable had half a mind to do the same until she heard the sound of something tapping against the concrete and asphalt in a steady rhythm. Jin's eyebrows lowered a bit as he heard the sound as well, as well as from some other feeling that was causing him some discomfort, and both ended up looking in the direction the sound came from. The sight of what Pokemon was walking down the street made Sable blink a few times while Jin walked around his trainer to put her between him and the Pokemon that was approaching.
Sable blinked twice more as Ezra and the Xerneas seemed to recognize and converse with one another for a moment, although the name drop clarified everything."I'm not sure what I expected Leben to be, but it certainly wasn't..."she said, not exactly loudly but easily loud enough to for Ezra to hear. Her trailing off wasn't from shock or amazement, though. It was simply that she could not recall the name of the species the legendary belonged to. She could recognize it was a legend, and judging by Jin's reaction and its appearance she guessed that it was a fairy type, but she just couldn't recall the name of it. She wasn't even sure if she knew what it was called, what with how many different legendary Pokemon there were in the world.
There was a bit of an awkward silence between the red-haired teen and her disguised Zorua for a moment, but Sable eventually broke the silence."Well... As much as I'd like to have some proper introductions passed around, we should probably get to training,"she said, then started to turn to leave. She was no Pokemon, and definitely not a dark, fighting, or dragon type, but something about the legendary stag made the little hairs on her arms and neck stand on end."I guess we'll meet back up-"having now turned her head to face the direction she wanted to go, the teen's words were cut off as her vision was suddenly filled with a pastel rainbow, followed by darkness.
Sable blinked a few times, surprised that whatever goo or thread or whatever had hit her in the upper half of her face did not actually touch her eyes, then recalled that she had placed her goggles over her eyes during her gym battle. She was so used to wearing them almost all the time back in her home region, she hadn't noticed that she was still wearing them after the battle ended. Even the tint of the lens hadn't tipped her off, as she was also quite used to that. Still, that left the question of what, exactly, saw fit to spray something at her eyes, and she only had one other pair whose owner was having a laughing fit next to her.
"Jin?"the red-haired teen started, sounding rather irritated at the situation."First. What is on my face? Second. What sprayed it on me?"Once her two questions were finished, the teen felt the same area get hit with another batch of something. Something sticky, stringy, and goopy all at the same time. She also heard her Zorua quiet his laughter somewhat, although he couldn't hide his amusement from her ears."To answer the second, it's a pastel-colored Swirlix. Probably attracted by Ezra's fairy friend, whether he meant it or not. That leads to the answer of your first question, which is likely something along the lines of cotton candy.
Sable frowned a bit at Jin's answers, although at least it gave her an idea on how to deal with the creature spraying her face. After all, if it was a fairy, it'd be weak to steel attacks, and Sable knew one of her Pokemon had a pretty powerful one."Right. Thank you,"she said towards where she thought Jin was standing, then tried to face the Swirlix. She was a little off from where the sticky little fairy stood, but she at least got in the general direction."As for you, I'm giving you one warning. If you spray me again, I'll-"
Sable didn't get to say anything more than that, as the Swirlix that decided to use the teen's head as a cotton candy stick spat a wad of sticky threads at the girl's mouth. Not that it actually impeded her ability to talk, but the irriatation of the situation had now gotten to her. If someone could see past the amount of cotton candy strands that were concealing a good portion of Sable's face, they would see a rather pissed off teenager. As the teen brushed off the strands covering her mouth with the fingers of one hand, trying to not get the sticky threads on the arm-length fingerless gloves she wore, she reached for her Eevee's Pokeball and let out the ball of fluff with the other.
The small ball of fluff looked at the oddly-colored wad of sweet stuff in front of it for a moment, then looked up at his trainer and had to keep from laughing. Not only had most of the fairy floss gotten on Sable's face, but most of it was in her hair, too. She was going to be needing a shower or something after this fight."Iron. Tail."The tone of Sable's voice made it rather clear that she was about ready to try swatting at the Swirlix herself, which would probably be a bad idea considering what the Pokemon looked to be made of. After a few stifled giggles, the normal type gave an affirmative yip before bounding up to the Swirlix and swatting it on the backside with a rather strong hit. Apparently, the Pokemon wasn't expecting a steel type move, and had perhaps thought the trainer's command was a bluff, and soon ran off to mess with some other unfortunate trainer.
Pleased with his victory, the Eevee happily licked the sweet goo that had been left behind off of his tail for a while. Sable didn't mind licking off the amount of sticky strands that were on her hand, mostly because she knew they were supposed to be edible. At least, that's what she remembered reading somewhere. And it didn't sound like the Eevee was having any ill effects from licking off the amount on his tail and enjoying it, so it shouldn't hurt. Both had pretty much finished when the teen started to take off her goggles, and the first sight she got to see was Jin with the sort of pleading expression that a puppy wanting some sort of treat might have. Sable just looked at him, then handed the pair of goggles over to the disguised Zorua."If you can't get it all, head in and clean the rest of it off. I'm going to see if I can't use a basin or a shower or something to get cleaned up,"she said to the dark type, then turned around and headed right back into the Pokemon center.

It seemed to take forever for Joy to call Avonlea to retrieve her Pokemon, but when she was, the woman didn't waste a second. She bolted up and went to the counter. Turned out they were all fine. It was just their morale that was low. Turning, she let the four Pokemon out, all of them looking down over their defeat. Mikhail especially."...Cheer up, all of you. That battle was rigged from the start. There's no way you could have won against Klefki. She was just...too strong.""Yeah. You all did really well in that fight."The encouragement didn't seem to help, and Avonlea sighed as she stood. What else was she expecting? The entire team just had their asses handed to them by a key-hoarding freak. Avonlea looked over as she spotted something sticking out from under a chair, and she went over to pick it up. Jin had been picking the cotton candy-like strands off of Sable's goggles to keep his mind off the fact that there was a Xerneas standing nearby. That being said, he seemed to relax quite a bit once Ezra actually recalled the Pokemon. He did not mind being around most fairy types and usually tried to avoid acting impulsively around them, but there were some things a dark type like him just could not stand being around without reacting in some way. Still, he kinda wanted some of that sweet stuff that the Swirlix had been spraying at his trainer, so he was still a bit focused on picking the strands off the pair of goggles while Ezra and his Nidoran were confronted by a Chansey.
For her part, Sable didn't really pay much attention to Avonlea as she went over to the counter. Well, aside from staying out of the woman's way when she rushed over to get her Pokemon back. She just waited patiently for the pink-haired woman to not have a worried trainer to deal with before speaking with her."Nurse Joy? Sorry to bother you like this, but do you happen to have somewhere that I could wash up at?"she asked, trying to keep her tone calm and polite even though the nurse couldn't help but snicker at the teen's appearance. Between wiping off the chunk of sticky strands over her mouth and most of what was covering the upper half of her face being peeled off when she removed her goggles, the teen was left with a strip of multicolored cotton candy across across the bridge of her nose, parts of globs stuck to her cheeks, and strands stuck through a fair portion of her hair. It was, quite simply, a mess.
The nurse was eventually able to compose herself enough to speak without bursting into laughter."Yes, there's a restroom down that hall there,"she answered and pointed out where the teen needed to go."Thank you, miss."After giving the short reply, Sable made her way to the restroom that the nurse pointed out, and as a result ended up missing the battle between Avonlea's Pokemon and the little Floette that had come to bother her. Right now, Sable was in a bad mood and just wanted to get cleaned up, so she didn't really care much about what was going on in the background.
It took a while, but eventually the redhead managed to get all the cotton candy off of her face and out of her hair. At least, she thought she got all of it, considering all the washing and brushing she ended up having to do. She didn't bother drying her hair and, after making sure everything else was in order, walked back out in time to notice something had left the building. And by left, she meant got blasted out the doorway by some sort of pink beam."...Uh... What did I miss...?"she asked curiously, the question mostly directed at Avonlea since she looked to be the only other trainer in the Pokemon center at the moment. The teen was in a much better mood now that she wasn't dealing with Swirlix goo in her hair and on her face.
Outside, Sable's Eevee had finished licking the sticky stuff out of its fur when he noticed another Pokemon come over to bother the group. This time around, it was an Exeggcute, one that looked like it had been mistaken for a bunch of real eggs and dipped in coloring dye."Sheesh! What's with the pastel army? Did we tick off the Easter Buneary or something?"the normal type yipped as he stretched out, then padded up to face the eggs."Meh, whatever. I'll take care of this bunch. I figure I need the protein."The normal type gave the eggs a smirk after his comment, although he wasn't entirely serious. He wasn't really going to eat the egg-like Pokemon, but it did unnerve them a touch.
Still having a smirk, the Eevee bounded over and, with a few swats of his tail, knocked the eggs away to have them deal with someone else."Heh! That's another one down thanks to Iron Tail! Grabbing that scale might have been my best idea yet~"the Eevee boasted as he wagged his tail, then stretched again before padding over to sit near Jin since his trainer was still in the Pokemon center for the moment.

Quickly entering the Pokemon Center, he had Joy treat the Nidoran before going back outside with him. Letting him out, Ezra knelt and patted his head."Don't worry, bud. The next fight will be--"He was cut off when he spotted another Chansey. How many blue Chansey were there, and what was up with their eggs? He actually wanted one just because they were so pretty. The egg, not the Chansey. Though, There was nothing wrong with Chansey. Nidoran gave a determined snarl before running up to challenge the Egg Pokemon, and Ezra sighed. Anger would be Tödlich's downfall one day. He just hoped he could handle the Chansey this time.
