Sasha came back and landed on the sands of the beach near the cave-system she and Cedric called home. She saw Cedric sitting in the sane in dragon form with Michael sitting on a rock near him, they were obviously talking so she left them alone. Their first brood had produced three hatchlings that carried Cedric's angelic powers and once they'd finished learning the dragon-basics with her and Cedric, Michael had offered to take them to learn to control their angelic powers. She'd reluctantly agreed as long as the little ones didn't have a problem going, and only after she'd gained Michael's word of honor that the hatchlings would be under his complete protection. The other two hatchlings had been average dragons; one had gained fire as an ability and the other had gained water. All of the hatchlings had grown into fully-fledged dragons and had gone their own ways, taking up places of their own to live. It hadn't been easy on Sasha, though. She'd missed her younglings terribly. It hadn't helped that Michael had called Cedric away for some job of some kind with the angels and he'd only just recently returned. She'd made friends with Zylrias and his young adopted-daughter Raersas and had helped him teach the youngling everything she could. She wasn't old enough to defend herself much and she was fighting with Zylrias to get him to move the two of them here to her island until the young Wyvern was old enough to defend herself. She hadn't won yet but she felt that she was getting close. She gave a nod to the two males as she settled her wings at her sides and moved on into the cave to do a little needless picking-up around their living area. She was interrupted by a water dragon needing healing and she helped the female down into the Crystal Cavern to rest there as she assessed what would be needed for her healing. She was in bad shape, though, and Sasha recognized the type of injuries. The crystal cavern would heal her at a slower rate, but that wouldn't be a bad thing right now. Sasha came out of the cavern and headed towards the beach, where she always took off from. She was fully intending on chasing down the males that had attacked the female and doing them a bit of damage. And her anger over the whole thing wasn't hard to miss right now...

Sasha slowly woke up in one of the caves, the crystals around her still giving off a soft glow. She gave a groan and slowly raised her head before blinking her eyes open to look around her, a bit confused.
It took her a moment to remember...
She'd been down here, checking on the place in case she needed to put a patient down here... Then...
Her eyes went wide and a large swirl of molten red mixed with metallic bronze as she remembered....
That kind of pain only came from one thing...
Cedric was dead...
She looked around the cave and wondered why she wasn't in pain, and why she was so calm about his death. Then she caught sight of the glowing crystals around her and knew instantly why: they were healing her, healing both physical and emotional pain.
She finally shook her head and got to her feet, giving a groan as unused muscles protested movement. Then she started walking up to the beach, then over to her cave. There, she curled up in front of the entrance and closed her eyes as she worked on processing that she'd lost a second mate, and tried not to cry over it...

Indra Indra flew towards Crystal Island in his golden dragon form, hunting for two dragons that he had been hired to kill. The two dragons were apparently planning to do something rather insidious to the healing dragon Sasha, and he had been tasked with eliminating them. He was passing over Crystal Island when he felt a large body collide with his own as claws raked down his side, felt blood starting to spill out from the wounds that had been opened up. He felt another dragon moving in for a kill and managed to shift to the side just enough to make the jaws clamping down on his neck non-lethal.
He let out a roar and managed to shake them off before immediately flying straight up. He could sense them following him, and he knew that he wouldn't be able to avoid them for long. So he decided to do something a bit reckless. Just before they reached him, he shifted into his human form and allowed himself to fall past them, drawing his sword and slicing along the back of the dragon that had his blood on its claws. He heard the other dragon roar in pain and pulled the sword out and sliced through the dragon's wing. The dragon immediately started to lose altitude, and Indra tried to spin in the air to get a fix on the other one.
He tried to shift back into his dragon form and suddenly felt a wave of agony pass through his body from his Mating Mark. He gasped for breath and stopped trying to shift, finding the pain lessening as he did. He tried to figure out what he was going to do about getting down to the ground safely when he couldn't shift and got an idea as the other dragon flew towards him. He took a deep breath and twisted just enough to avoid the dragon's teeth clamping down on him and plunged his sword into the dragon's back. He heard a roar of pain as he really drove the blade deeper and then summoned up his magic and sent a massive burst of lightning through the blade and into the dragon. He felt the dragon go limp and start to fall out of the air. He held on until the dragon started to drift towards the land of the island and jumped towards the water. He braced himself and used his magic to stir up the water a bit to try to soften his landing. Even still, the landing hurt like hell.
He pulled himself onto the shore of the island, feeling his body trying to shift into his siren form as a result of being in the water. He was panting as he checked himself and found the wounds he'd sustained still bleeding pretty badly. He found the dead dragon that had crashed into the island and pulled his sword free. He fell to one knee and tried to catch his breath as pain started to flow from his Mating Mark again. He gritted his teeth and forced himself back to his feet. He stumbled forward a bit, using his sword to help keep himself up. He didn't get very far and ultimately ended up collapsing just outside of a cave, still bleeding and barely conscious.

Dameon Black Alt That blue is a little too light for this, I think. Sasha heard the comotion and raised her head to follow the path of the dragon that finally fell near one of her healing caves. She didn't want to care right now. She didn't want to heal anyone. But she couldn't fight her instincts. She got to her feet and moved over to him, looked him over cautiously for a moment before approaching his head so that he could see her clearly, "Let me help you," she said in a soft tone that was as musical as it was soothing. That tone couldn't be argued with by anyone when she used it and it allowed her to heal even the worst patients. She moved around so that she could wedge her head under his forearm then showed a surprisingly gentle strength as she helped him into the cave ahead of him. There was water in the cave, but most of it was in smaller pools that she bypassed in favor of an 'island' made of blue crystal in the center. She helped him there and saw to it that he was comfortable, then she moved around behind him, "Rest now..." she told him softly in that soothing tone of hers. She smiled when she felt him finish going to sleep then channeled her own healing powers through the crystals in the cave, speeding up his healing process and even adding a little more of her own energy into the mix to help him a bit more. Then she left him to rest and heal and went to curl back up in front of her own cave, closing her eyes and resting while she waited for him to wake again.

Indra Indra's vision was blurry by the time Sasha came into view. He blinked several times, trying to figure out if she was real or if he was just imagining things. He let out a shaky breath as he heard her speak and grunted a bit as she helped him up and helped him into the cave. He was grateful for her help with moving, since he was still bleeding pretty badly and definitely wouldn't have been able to get anywhere on his own.
He made a soft sound in protest as she helped him down again and tried to gather himself enough to say something. He didn't get a chance to speak before he heard her soothing voice again, this time telling him to rest. He found that it sounded like a perfect plan right now and stopped trying to fight how tired he felt. He was asleep within a few seconds.
He woke up with a gasp a few hours later. He sat up and felt over his body, finding the wounds to be either gone or almost entirely gone. He took a moment to collect himself and got to his feet. He stretched a bit, finding that he was feeling surprisingly good for someone who had been badly injured just a few hours ago. He made sure that he wasn't missing his sword or any other important gear and then left the cave he was in.
He looked around the island for a moment and then started to walk around a bit. It didn't take long for him to find Sasha curled up in front of her cave. He made a noise to let her know that he was there and then sat on the ground a few feet away from her. "Thank you for helping me," he said quietly. "I doubt that I would've lasted very long without you." He frowned as he felt a bit of pain start to flow from his Mating Mark, but he decided that he didn't really want think about that right now. "My name is Indra, by the way. And since you healed me, I'm guessing that you're Sasha. Sorry if I disturbed you with all of the noise."

Sasha sat up when he came out of the cave, the sunlight showing off the rainbowed iridescent tones of her scales in the process of moving. It also showed the greyed portions that were old wounds. When she was in human form, those were scars. Marks from old attacks that showed that her life had never been exactly easy. She nodded to him, "Yes, I'm Sasha BrightScales," she confirmed who she was then tilted her head slightly as she noted that his old Mating Mark flashed from colored to silvered then back again. Her own Mark was silvered and showed that she'd lost at least one Mate. In truth, she'd lost two. Her eyes swirled with bronze and gold as she looked him over briefly, "You really should figure something out with that, you know... She almost killed you..." she said softly, letting him know she knew exactly what was wrong with his Mark. For her, it wasn't hard to pick it up. As a healer she would need to be able to pick up on those things in order to heal someone. On top of it, she healed physically and spiritually. She never spoke of the cost of her healing and deliberately hid it whenever possible. She looked around them for a moment and shifted her feet slightly. She wasn't used to anyone staying around after she healed them. Well, Zylrias and his daughter were an exception. Even Ebony had only visited her once . Most simply thanked her for the healing, left some kind of gift that usually involved food, then left her alone.

Indra Indra was surprised by just how beautiful Sasha's rainbow scales were, though he did tilt his head a bit as he noticed the grey portions from old wounds. He could tell that she'd had a difficult life so far, something that he could relate to. He had plenty of scars as well, though most of them were from fights that he'd gotten into as a result of his mercenary work. Honestly, most of them were from after Sera's death. Hell, most of them were from the last few months. He didn't like to acknowledge it, but she was getting worse. She kept interfering in his fights and causing him to get hurt.
He noticed the silver Mating Mark she carried that showed she'd lost a Mate of her own and immediately noticed the way she looked at him as his own Mark shifted from colored to silver and then back. He sighed softly when he heard her comment on it. "I know she did," he said quietly. "She's been doing that sort of thing a lot lately. I thought it was just accidental at first, and it really may have been. But I can't deny that she's doing it on purpose now. And I don't know how to fix it. She's just so angry now, and I can't get her to let go."
He could tell that she was feeling a bit odd about his staying around. He knew that most dragons didn't linger after being healed. But with the way Sera had been recently, he wasn't sure if he would be able to fly very far. She'd been getting stronger and angrier, and he was afraid that she would take advantage of any distraction and cause him to shift back to his human form while flying or something along those lines. He really wasn't sure what all she could do at this point.
He looked back out toward the water and noticed the body of one of the dragons he'd killed earlier. "Those dragons were coming here for you, you know. And while I don't know everything about what they had planned, I do know that it was going to be extremely unpleasant. I also know that those two weren't the only ones in their group, though I don't know exactly where the others are. It's probably only a matter of time before more come for you. Do you have anywhere to go or anyone who might be able to keep you safe?"

Part of her wanted to tell him exactly why he was having so much trouble with his old Mate, but knew that it wasn't really her place right now to do so. Until it was the right time, there wasn't anything to be done anyway. Especially with as entrenched as she was now... But the other news had her frowning and shifting her feet a bit more, showing her nervousness over the new situation. At his question, she looked down for a moment, her wings shifting at her sides and giving glimpses of even more old scars. Some of those scars showed that her wings had been broken and shredded once, leaving her grounded until she'd healed. Which had been almost a year... If it hadn't been for finding the crystal caves here, she might not have flown again. Ever... She finally looked up at him, her eyes now swirling a bit of copper in them to show her mild distress over the threat to her, "There's nowhere for me to go... I could ask Zylrais for help, but he has his daughter to look after. There's Ebony but she's not exactly..." she stopped there, not sure how much to say on that one. Ebony was going through the Frenzy, a condition when a Mate was murdered and the surviving Mate was unable to exact revenge. It usually cleared up if they Mated again or if they stayed alive long enough to return to sanity. Sasha shook her head again, "There's no one... I can go into my cave and stay there for a long time but... If I'm needed for healing, I can't... I have to heal... It's what I do... It's what i am..." she explained to him, hoping that he'd understand. She looked around them for a moment, checking the skies briefly then considered him again, "Come with me," she said simply and got to her feet, going into the cave beside her. This was her personal living space. The main room was set up for living in both forms, cooking, bookshelves with plenty of books, plenty of cushions in dragon-size, couch and chairs for human form, even a beautifully carved dining table and chairs that had been a gift from Lao before he'd died. Down a hallway were two rooms: one was a bedroom with a plush poster-bed complete with sheer curtains in a pale brown that actually matched her hair, the other was actually a 'playroom' she'd put in for Cedric and had certainly enjoyed with him. Now, though, she'd probably make it into a larger library or something else. She moved over to cool-cellar, shifting to her human form along the way. In this form, she could have been considered a 'plain Jane'. She stood barely over five feet tall and was barefoot for now with a sleeveless sheath-dress on in a pale blue. She had brown eyes, called 'doe-eyes' by some. But her crowning glory was her hair: a wavy fall of brown with honeyed highlights that fell to her ankles. She pulled out a metal pitcher that had sweat beading on it then collected a couple of glasses and brought it all over to the sitting area and poured them both a glass of sweetened tea, "We can talk better in here. We won't be overheard. Ebony spelled that for me a long time ago. I can hear others approaching, but they can't hear me in here," she explained to him in a voice that was naturally soft and sweet to hear. She set the pitcher down and moved to sit in one of the plush chairs that had a small table with a book laid on it, showing that she sat there alot. She took a sip from her glass and set it on the coffee-table in front of her, waiting for him to come in to sit with her. Her living area had a unique side effect on visitors, though: it was a soothing place. His previous mate wouldn't be able to trouble him in here. She would have to calm down and back off from him, allowing him to shift as needed and act as needed in these rooms.

Indra Indra could see her nervousness at his mention of the dragons that were after her. He also noticed the scars that showed just how much damage had been done to her wings in the past. He could tell that she was lucky that she had healed properly and regained her ability to fly at all. He couldn't imagine being robbed of the ability to fly. There were few things that he could think of that could possibly be worse than losing his wings.
He listened carefully to what she had to say and considered things as he followed her into her cave. He had only been contracted to wipe out those two dragons that he had already killed, so his job was done. But he felt an old feeling resurfacing, an old drive that he hadn't felt since the death of his Mate. He didn't really know why, but he felt a drive to protect her. He didn't feel right just dropping information about his threat on her and then leaving her without protection. He didn't want to feel this drive anymore, didn't want to feel the need to protect someone. It hadn't exactly worked out for the last person he'd tried to protect.
He looked her over as she shifted into her human form and let out a soft sigh. He didn't want to have to follow his desire to protect others, but he couldn't refuse it. Sasha was needed to help others, and he couldn't just leave her to fend for herself when there were an unknown number of enemies who wanted to hurt her.
He took a sip of the tea she gave him and sat across from her. "You can't stay here without any sort of protection," he stated softly. "You're the only healer we have around here, so you're too important to lose. And the ones that want to hurt you know that and won't have any problems coming here to get you. They know where you are, and they won't hesitate to come after you and your patients." He gave her a moment for it to sink in and then continued. "I feel so light here. I can still feel Sera here, but she's so calm now. It's like all of the rage just flowed out of her as soon as I got in here. I know that she'll get angry again, but it won't be an instant thing. Coming here bought me some time."
He took another sip of the tea and sat it on the coffee table. "You can't stay here without protection, but you don't have anywhere else to go. And I know that this place has so many positive effects for your patients. So why don't we make a deal? Being here calms Sera, meaning that I can function again without her causing too many problems. If you'll let me stay here so that I can keep her calm until I figure out how to help her, I can provide the protection you need. You've seen a bit of what I can do from seeing the ones I've already dealt with, and you know that I only got hurt that badly because she was angry. I can fight again now that she's calm."

Sasha gave a shrug of one shoulder, "The calming effect is deliberate and should cover the entire island. I can't heal someone when they're in an agitated state, after all," she told him simply on that bit then moved on to the rest. She got up briefly to move over to the bookshelf, searched for a moment, then collected a book and moved back to her chair, tucking one leg under her as she sat down and opened the book to flip through it with an attractive frown on her face, "Have you considered that she was never meant to be your mate? When you force the bond, things like this sometimes happen. You can break the bond, but it's not easy when one is as entrenched as she seems to be," she found the reference she needed and nodded as she closed the book and put it on the coffee table. "I've seen situations like that with two sets of patients here. They were not meant to be and forced the bond in the heat of the moment. Took me a while to figure out how to break the bond and free them up to move on, but it was worth it in the end," she added then took a sip from her glass and set it back down next to her. "You can stay as long as you like. I'm alone here now, so there is plenty of room," she considered it for a moment then glanced at the hallway that went deeper into the cave and gave a delicate blush, "But we may need to carve you out your own room.... The other two are... Well one is my bedroom and the other is..." she paused there, not sure how to cover the playroom. Then she realized that she probably wouldn't be using it again and her blush faded to show a touch of sadness in her brown eyes, "Then again... We can just redo the second room for you... If you can put up with the couch for a few days...." she offered, instantly thinking to simply redo the room instead of keeping it as it was. She reached a hand up to her neck where her fading Mark was and touched it briefly then lowered that hand and turned back to him with a small wry smile, "I'm more used to attacks than it seems. Admittedly, it's been a while since the last one. But I'm not completely helpless," she offered, knowing that he would find her home to be rather interesting... She'd long ago planned for attacks. The cave was set up with them in mind and had plenty of escape routes, food caches, a fresh spring deeper under the cave provided water for all her needs, and she could seal the place up if needed. She also had a weapons cache further down. She wasn't good with weapons, but Cedric had been...

Zylrias flew for a while, Raersas was comfortably asleep on his back as they soared across the sky toward the crystal island and gracefully moved about the sky towards Sasha’s come without delay. As time went and the island was well within view as well as where they were going did Raersas stir and rubbed her eyes before she spoke “are we almost there?” Zylrias moved his head to look at Raersas and smiled “yes love, we’ll be there soon, have a good nap?” Raersas nodded “yes” Zylrias nodded and looked back to where they were going. After sometime Zylrias flew close to the entrance to Sasha’s home and flew by it before he came around again and came in for a gentle landing off a ways from the entrance and let Raersas get off his back and watched as she gracefully walked towards the cave entrance, Zylrias following close behind her still in dragon form for a moment. As they drew near the mouth of the cave Raersas ran in and yelled “AUNT SASHA!” Zylrias shook his head slightly as he walked along changing form once inside and just casually walked in after Raersas.

Indra Indra let out a soft sigh when she asked him if he had considered that Sera was never meant to be his Mate. He could feel Sera's anger reignite for a brief moment at Sasha's question. Truthfully, he had considered it very briefly right when they first became Mates, but Sera had gotten upset about his doubts and guilted him into dropping it. Now that he thought about it, that really should have been a red flag.
He shook his head to dispel those thoughts and gave Sasha a polite smile when she started to talk about his living arrangements. "The couch will be perfectly fine until we can get a room taken care of for me," he said, not sure how to handle the sadness he could see in her eyes. The second room clearly brought up some painful feelings for her, and he guessed that it likely had something to do with the Mate that she had lost as well. He gave a genuine grin when she mentioned that she was more used to attacks than it seemed and stated that she wasn't completely helpless. "Good. That makes my job a bit easier. I'll take a look over the place while we're working on the room and see what kinds of preparations we need to make."
Over the next few days, Indra did exactly as he said he would do. He started the process of memorizing every inch of the cave and the various escape routes, though it would likely take a bit of time for him to learn it all. He made sure that all of the supplies were fresh and spread the weapons cache out a bit so that he would have access to a weapon in the even that an enemy pursued them into any of the various tunnels. While Indra worked on his preparations, he gave Sasha a bit of space as she redid the room for him.
Indra was looking around his new bedroom a bit when he sensed someone arrive at the entrance to Sasha's home. He slipped out of the room and remained unseen as he examined the visitors to determine if they were a threat. After seeing the young girl run in ahead while calling out for 'Aunt Sasha', Indra determined that they weren't a threat and slipped into view behind Sasha when she walked out to greet her guests. He stayed close to her, maintaining a protective stance. He had determined that Zylrias and Raersas weren't a threat, but he was still ready to take action if a threat did show up.

Sasha smiled as Raersas ran in and hugged her, even giving a soft laugh over it as she hugged her back, "It's good to see you again Rae... I missed you," she said softly, leaning down to put a kiss to the top of her head. She finally cupped her face so that she could look up at her, "I think there's some sweet tea in the cooler, if you want some," she told her with a wink. In a way, Raersas reminded her of the one clutch she'd laid and hatched. They'd all gone off with Cedric's father to learn the angelic side of their heritage. None had come back, though. She said nothing of it, though. Not sure who she'd talk to about it anyway. She gave another soft laugh when the girl gave an excited sound and moved to get the pitcher of tea and a glass for herself and her father. Sasha looked up with a small smile to the girl's father, "Zylrias... It's good of you two to come visit," she gestured gracefully behind her, "This is Indra. He's my guest for a little while," she said simply as she introduced him. She never spoke of a patient or if anyone was getting treatment with her. Most knew by now to never ask. Instead, she introduced Indra as a guest, something no one would ever question about her. "What brings you two down today?" she asked Zylrias as she gestured for him to have a seat in the siting area then took her own seat in her usual chair, tucking one leg under her as she usually did.

Zylrias gave Indra a nod of acknowledgement and moved over to sit down looking at Sasha he spoke up “well apart from coming down to visit, I’m actually here to get a little help with a issue that was brought up recently, I know how to handle the issue due to Raersas, but sadly I haven’t had what I need since she was a babe still learning” Zylrias paused when Raersas came back with a couple of glasses and took the one offered to him with a smile “thank you love” Raersas smiled as she sat down next to Zylrias and continued “I was hoping you’d be able to lend me a Azureus stone, my guest is having trouble transforming between forms and that stone would make it easier on her until she gets used to the process of shifting between forms flawlessly and painlessly, sadly she wasn’t taught how to be a dragon so I’ve taken her under my wing as a pupil alongside Raersas” Raersas sat quietly while Zylrias spoke with Sasha drinking her tea here and there as she watched, though if anything the one who was with Sasha was curious to her but she was respectful and did her best not to stare at him to much.

Indra Indra watched Sasha with the young girl with a small smile. Over the last few days, he had noticed the sadness that seemed to strike Sasha when she thought of her recently lost Mate, so it was nice to see her genuinely smiling. He continued to smile as he watched Raersas excitedly move into the kitchen to get the tea for herself and her father.
He looked back over towards Sasha and Zylrias when he heard Sasha introduce him, glad that she referred to him as a guest instead of a patient. He didn't want anyone to think that there was something wrong with him, especially since it could cause others to doubt his ability to protect Sasha if they thought he needed healing.
He listened to Zylrias state that he was hoping Sasha could lend him and Azureus stone, but he found his attention shifting back down to Raersas. He could tell that the young girl was watching him, though she was also trying her best not to stare at him. He gave her a sweet smile and reached out a hand. The drops of condensation on her glass floated into the air, followed by the condensation dripping down the pitcher as well. The small drops of water started to float in the air in front of her, and Indra sent a small spark of his lightning magic through the drops, creating a fairly impressive tiny light show that he hoped would entertain her a bit. The electricity quickly moved between the droplets of water, shifting color as it moved and actually creating a sound similar to musical notes every now and then. It seemed that Indra could put on a pretty good show, even if he hadn't really felt the desire to do so in a while.
