Rowan's dreams were not entirely inaccurate. Although not immediately, some men from Maara's home castle were starting to plan a rescue for their beloved Princess. As much of a conniving, money-lusting back-stabber that Maara is, she wasn't too unpopular. It was mostly only the men that mattered to her father, those whose sons died after wedding her, that seemed to despise her overmuch. Still, it was enough to get her sacrificed, which Maara would no doubt brood over again later. For now, at least, she dreamed of being spoiled as she once was. Showered in gifts, praise, adoration. The tragic, beloved princess of her Kingdom. Maara, being herself, couldn't help but also dream of her father being executed, something that she one day wished to make a reality, as I've probably said time and time again.

Rowan smiled as his sleep turned into nothing. As he drifted into darkness that left him in dreamless slumber. Maybe one day he would have some other fun.

((Eh... Bleh short...))

{If it gets too difficult to get going through the current situation, we can timeskip if you'd like.}

It wasn't long until Maara woke up, unable to truly rest for long. She hated how her nicest dreams were always ended abruptly. Whether it be by a servant, some rampaging ex-father-in-law, or some other reason, she never could finish a decent dream. Just before her father's head could be hacked off by the guillotine, she awoke, and was undoubtedly annoyed by this fact. For awhile she tried to fall back asleep with no avail. She eventually gived up, and since she was unable to clear her thoughts, she ended up quietly pacing about the room in a poor attempt at passing time.

Rowan woke up happily tire free at the moment. Having slept for a little while he had grown hungry. He exited his room after shaking the comforting water from himself, he went into the area where the food was prepared. Hoping for something to snack on momentarily.

((Eh. it's alright. I almost have no idea what to do now haha))

{Well, I have a few things in mind for Maara, should it get too difficult to post.}

By now, Maara was working on something for the both of them, obviously reserving the poison for Rowan alone. She had a distant look on her face as she prepared the food, longing still for sunlight against her skin and actual contact with other human beings.

Rowan watched the girl blankly make the food she was making. He crossed his arms as he leaned against the thresh hold. He watched for a moment before going over for a moment. He looked at the food and smelled each ingredient. "You don't eat the spices? Humans are too weak or something?" He asked. Unsure of why she hadn't put some in her plate too. Although the spices were making his stomach turn with hunger. He was hungry for something not raw. He watched her eyes through the pot that reflected her. She seemed to wish for something. Maybe he would take her outside one day. Or maybe he would never let her out again. Wonder wonder wonder.

"Somewhat." Maara replied, not daring to mention to what exact extent humans were vulnerable to this simple poison. She would never mention the single hour of agony its consumers faced as their internal organs slowly swelled and swelled up, only to explode from within their flesh - leaving their innards as nothing more than torn, delicate flesh and bile. Obviously, this was one of Maara's preffered methods of offing her enemies.

Rowan listened to the word wondering what she meant behind it. He was bored and it was becoming dull to stay here with this girl. He needed something to do or someone new or something. Maybe he would go to the mating ritual. Maybe just because it's boring here. He watched her keep doing her thing with the spices. "Humans... Weaklings..." He said as he moved around the room. He wished some action would come. He wondered if he should go raping the local village tonight. Have some fun.

"Indeed. I wouldn't be here if we weren't." Maara said calmly, hiding away as best as she could the anger she felt about this. In fact, she was implying her father was weak. As she was every husband that fell for her, every husband who's riches filled her coffers. "Judging by the blood you're always dragging in, I assume you know this all too well." she pointed out a few moments later, a sort of evil little smirk lighting up her features. "I doubt many of us ever posed much of a challenge for you."

Rowan listened and nodded. "I've noticed that it's the men that think they are the strongest and the teenage girls who want.... Pleasures... I guess you would call it, are the weakest. The girls are willing to give themselves up, and the men are scared Shitless when they realize that they will not win. The blood is because it makes me hungrier and gives me pleasures. The sight and smell of blood makes me go crazy." He said as he smiled at the thought of the beautiful red wine that he had but yesterday.

Maara now held no doubts that her usual wiles would do her no good in this isolated, stone hell. She couldn't help but mentally sigh. An escape would be more difficult than she originally thought. "Knowing the people of this country, you won't soon have to go without. Most are just as weak as you say. Their defenders, their rulers even, are little better."

Rowan nodded. "I wouldn't doubt it. King's and Queen's hide their foolish faces behind 'strong' men and women. It does them little good though, as they all die anyway." He said before walking back over and looking at the spices. "I also suppose that everyone needs fresh air every once in awhile... Come with me." He demanded. As he brusquely left the room.

Maara was quick to listen to his demands, her eyes sparkeling brightly at the possibility of getting out of the cave for once more. She spoke not a word, lest she somehow ruin this opprotunity at the worst possible time. Oh, how glorious it would be to feel some sunshine against her skin once more!

Rowan stopped suddenly. Even if she was a weak woman, it wouldn't do to have her know where the exit was. He turned to her. "How long can you hold your breath?" He asked.
