And he would be right, but it wasn't the sort of break through he was expecting as she ceiling would suddenly collapse on him. The rocks and debris would crash upon the bird with the force of well ...rocks.

And in the echoing of the place, it would seem as it if the rockfall took forever before it finally came to an end.

Coughing and cawing, Crowe would pull himself from the debris, his steely wings unfurling to push as much of it aside as he could. At times like this he was thankful for a body made of steel. Any other bird would have either remained buried, or at the very least departed with a few broken bones.

With a metallic hide however the Skarmory merely came out dented...and with time that could be fixed; luckily without the effort it took to straighten out his beak...

Stepping back, the Steel-Type would begin pecking away once more, first working to clear the rocks from the cave-in.

The distinct sound of metal striking rock would echo through the cavern as time passed out. Crowe wasn't actually sure how long he'd been down here any more. He'd taken to sleeping by the cavern mouth rather then his nest....guarding it until some other Pokemon relieved him of duty. Well he'd find something soon enough...he hoped at least.

This time, Crowe's luck would be much better as he found what one could call a very strange rock. Gold in coloration, and a soft sort of rock ....the bird had managed to dig up a nugget. Though whether or not he would recognize it's value was completely up to him.

Crowe would c**k his head curiously, examining the oddly coloured stoned. It was...rather shiny. He didn't honestly know what it was, but it sparkled faintly in the light. Such a soft metal would do no good in strengthening his plumage....but something deep within him compelled him to keep hold of the shiny object.

Picking up the Nugget with his beak the Skarmory would hide it with the other items then return to work.

Time passed, dirt flew, steel glinted off what little light there was to be had in the cramped space. The Skarmory had been digging for some time now...it was no doubt a matter of moments before he discovered something. Anything. Be it another trinket, or a piece of thick stone blocking his path.

The rumbled of rocks and the shuttering of earth would be the only warning before it happen again. The ceiling falling inwards as the supports would crumble under the strain and weight. Before, the Skarmory could figure out if he had found something valuable he would find himself press all around by rocks as the ceiling would collapse and he was caught in a cave in.

It would take some time, but eventually Crowe would manage to dig himself out from the rubble. Grumbling slightly the Skarmory would briefly preen, then resume digging. He'd have to clear the rubble a bit and possibly change direction slightly.

Time was a funny thing. Crowe had concluded this amidst his digging. It felt like upwards of a week had passed since he'd begun his renewed digging, yet it couldn't have been more then a couple days.

He would find it among the rubble ....something that shone like the morning sun. A piece of gold, it would glint and glow ...in a way that called to everyone standing there .....in a way that called out to everyone and everything .....as a source of greed or in the way of gaining more than what one has. This was the nugget that stood before him, but what type of nugget could only be told by press against it.

Crowe cocked his head upon noticing the golden glint. Another shiny, similar to the one he'd found before. Though at present he couldn't tell how big...or rather his thoughts rang true. Looks could be deceiving when half concealed by rubble.

Tilting his head the other way, the Skarmory would chip away at the shiny to reveal it's true form.

A Nugget, this time he would stumble upon an ordinary Nugget as it rest where he could easily get it. It would seem that this time, his luck was much better than before.

Snapping up the nugget between his beak, the Skarmory would place the shiny with the other, hidden near the mouth of the cavern.

Once he managed to tear himself from the alluring golden glint, the Skarmory would turn back to work, pecking relentlessly at the wall in search of...something....maybe another shiny?
