With the Heracross threat now diminished and sent packing, Lafayette relaxed. Crouching to the ground to sit on the balls of his feet, he rocked a little in place. Eve was still amazed by all the action, toddling over to take up residence next to him. He smiled a bit and gave the Bulbasaur a reassuring pat on the head. "Ridgie didge figh’, yeh? " He remarked, directing his gaze over to Micah as he spoke. "Doesn’ say much, but Mic’s as fit as a Tauree bull." Eve gave Lafayette a bit of a confused look. She still really didn’t understand a thing he said to be honest. What was Tauree exactly? Her confusion didn’t seem to bother him though. Or he didn’t notice.
No his attention had now shifted to a different arrival. It seemed the incense, and possibly the commotion, was finally sending new comers their way. Hoping from stone to stone from the cliff face was a small fox looking creature. It landed and paused at the edge, eyeing the crew a moment before raising its head and sniffing the air. Lafayette’s watch beeped again, indicating once more that this was a pokemon on the list. Well good.
Micah shifted and looked to eye the new creature. Before he could really act though, Dova scrambled forward and into full assault. Whether she was trying to greet it or attack it wasn’t clear, but she startled the creature bad enough that it struck back. This startled the Noivern, whose head quickly whipped side to side before she unleashed a rather destructive blast of sound. Whatever hopes of survival the pup creature had were quickly destroyed and it pretty much fainted from the blow. Lafayette raised an eyebrow, but shrugged and chucked a pokeball. Well a capture was a capture.

Dova sulked her way back over to Lafayette, eyes wide and shimmering as she winced just a bit in pain. Lafayette's expression though indicated that he was unimpressed. It was rightly what she deserved for rushing at the creature all willynilly like. What would've happened if the thing had actually hurt her more? Dova had a habit of getting too friendly too fast. Up in people and pokemons bubbles alike without so much as a thought about the consequences.
"You deserved it yeh dill." Lafayette scolded, retrieving a potion and giving her a spritz. She shivered but quickly regained her full strength, giving him the stupidest of looks in the process. It didn't last long though as yet another Riolu appeared, apparently having witnessed the demise of its fellow species. Maybe it was curious where they'd gone? Lafayette rolled his eyes as, once again, the same scene as before played out. Dova dove into greeting, startling the new arrival. This time though she'd snapped a pokeball loose and at the creature just as she knocked it out with a high pitch noise. Lafayette frowned. Well... that wasn't great. Pretty sure he wasn't supposed to be sending doubles of anything to Juliean.
Oh well. The man would just have to deal with it.

Once more Dova sulked over and once more, though with a bit more agitation, Lafayette healed her up. And then... once more, a Riolu appeared on the platform, sending the whole damn situation into motion once more. Dova dove, the Riolu panicked and attacked and Dova attacked once she was aware of what was going on. Though this time, the poor pokemon was sent unconscious over the cliff edge. There would be no catching that one... ouch.

While Lafayette once again tended Dova and scolded her roundly for continuing to be stupid and jump into spaces that she didn't belong, Cheri found herself facing off with an opponent of her own. It seems that the amount of pokemon was rapidly beginning to pick up and new faces were starting to appear coming up along the mountain walls. This one in particular looked like a fuzzball with arms and legs. Monkey-esque in appearance and with some serious dexterity. As it gave itself one final tug into the air to land on the ledge, it gave Cheri a look. The little pink pokemon's blank expression seemed to phase it just a bit, but beyond that it saw no real threat.
Promptly it too a scratch at Cheri, knocking her down. The Espurr picked herself up from the attack though, staring at the Mankey before promptly delivering a devestating headbutt to the creature in return. Maybe it would think before underestimating a random encounter next time.

Well that was unexpected. Lafayette heard his watch beep again and noted Cheri toddling his way with some scratches to her face while leaving the remains of a fainted Mankey behind. He hesitated only a moment at the sight before promptly chucking a pokeball to catch the wild pokemon. Once it was secure, he retrieved another potion for Cheri to have. She'd... how'd she done that? Lafayette wished he'd seen it. It was probably such a sight.
In the mean time, Dova ran off once more to greet a new face as it appeared. The species of pokemon were really beginning to mix up as a Machop climbed up and flexed in her direction. A challenge or an act of friendship? She didn't seem to care ore recognize and so promptly threw herself at the creature in response. That was what Dova did best.

Lafayette was ready to give Dova another potion, and potentially a punch in the head as he retrieved yet another caught pokemon, but he didn't have the time. A different looking fighter appeared, this one a little more humanoid in appearance than compared to the Machop that had just been defeated. Dova didn't hesitate to throw herself at this other creature to; though it was becoming evident that she was trying to gauge a reaction early so she could attack. Once more though, she found herself getting smacked in the face by a newcomer. It was becoming clear that these things just didn't want to be friends.

Another one down! At this rate, Lafayette would be done in no time. Which was good because the insistent beeping of his watch was beginning to annoy him. It was like Juliean had purposely set the tone to a certain range just to cause his ears to ring in the process. What if that was the case? He wouldn't put it past the man to do something like that. He sighed and watched as Dova went for another new appearance. He was ready for the inevitable fainting that would occur; the stupid dragon hadn't allowed him to heal her that time either but the blonde was impressed as she struck the new comer first. There was no attempt to get up in its space this time, the fat pokemon immediately hitting the ground with a thud.
Well. Maybe... she could learn. Or she'd figured out that these things were not here for friendship. He supposed it didn't matter; so long as she didn't get herself knocked out, she could do as she liked.

And yet another one. Dova seemed to be catching on that this time was for fighting and not trying to make friends. Maybe in the future, assuming these pokemon were even still in Juliean's possession after this, she would have the chance to have a meet and greet. For now though the focus was clear; take them down so that her trainer could catch them. If she did it enough times, maybe he would forgive her for taking a few too many hits the first few waves. Maybe.

Lafayette's ears were starting to ring from all the boombursts that Dova was shooting out. It was a powerful attack to be certain, but there was only so much noise a person could take. From her attacks and the continuous beeping of his watch, it'd be some time before these noises left his ears. Ah well, that was the price you paid he supposed. And so long as the pokemon kept coming for him to catch, then well. He'd keep it up.

"Dova, c'mere." Lafayette called after she had dispatched of another fighting type and he had caught it. He wanted to get her healed up before some sort of surprise visitor knocked her unconscious. And for the most part, he was less annoyed by her antics from earlier now and aware of that, the dragon was more than happily to whip her way over to be healed. As the blonde tended to Dova, Cheri caught sight of yet another new combatant. This one had brought its own steel bar too, which was odd give the location.
The Timburr though, didn't appear to be there to build. Instead, it smacked Cheri with the metal beam, causing her to squeak just a bit. Still, that solemn stare remained on her face as she promptly returned the gesture with a head slam of her own. These fighting types; so very rude!

If Cheri was agitated from that whole violent debacle, she didn't show it. Eve was staring wide eyed in shock having watched the whole thing go down. Had that... had that pokemon smacked Cheri with a massive metal pole? What in the world was that about?! Cheri just toddled over to receive healing, Lafayette giving her a bit of a look in the process. Eve watched the two a moment before her gaze shifted as Dova stood off with yet another fighter. This one actually looked like it belonged in the ring, dressed in a karate style outfit like it was.
Too bad fists of fury meant nothing against harsh violent explosive sound. How did you punch air anyways?

Once healed, Cheri didn't stick around long. It seemed that she was now interested in getting into the fighting as well and after Dova had dispatched of the Throh, the small pink fluff decided to take on it's thinner yet equally as karate looking cousin, Sawk. At least this one was less like to beam her in the face with a metal bar; fists were considerably less painful. Or should've been. The Sawk apparently had no problem picking up a rock and smashing it on Cheri. Really, these guys did NOT play fair. What was with all the item usage? Where was the honor? The code? The morals?
Whatever! Cheri, with that poker face of hers, returned the favor and gave the Sawk a good headbutt to the groin. If they wanted to play dirty well apparently, she could too.

As the Sawk hit the ground clutching its goods - did it have goods? Was that a thing for a pokemon like that? - Cheri shifted her attention to the Mienfoo that had climbed into view. It seemed momentarily stunned at what it had just witnessed before noticing Cheri eyeing it and getting into a fighting stance. This one didn't seem to have any weaponry or some sort but ... well so did the Sawk. For now, Cheri was clearly convinced that fighting types were just cheaters.
The Mienfoo didn't come at her with a rock or a metal beam or tree though. It went for a standard attack against her which was appreciated. Still, Cheri was going to head butt it to oblivion. Because that was how she now felt about the whole situation.

Lafayette was watching the whole thing play out with mild amusement. Oh sure, he had winced a bit when the Espurr had given the Sawk a solid head check to the groin, but what actual man wouldn't? That kind of thing hurt, no matter how tough a b*****d you were and by the looks of it, the little pink thing had given it proper force. Of course, the Sawk had also smashed a rock on her so... it was probably a fair trade off. Maybe.
While he tended to Cheri who seemed well enough to just try and tend to herself at this point, Dova caught sight of another creature. This one looked like it was having trouble climbing up, one hand clutching what looked to be sagging pant parts while the other tried to latch onto a hold. Dova swooped over and gave the pokemon a curious look. Poor thing. It was struggling. He whipped about underneath it, hovering in the air and giving a vicious boom burst to it's backside, sending it flying up and smashing down on the ground. Well. At least it was up now, yes?

Lafayette stared a moment at the limp Scraggy, giving Dova a bit of a look. Was that really necessary? She could've easily helped the poor creature up in a gentle manner before blasting it like that. Oh well. Once more his watch beeped and he chucked another pokeball. Judging by what was no longer highlighted and what was, he only had a few more catches to make and then he would be done with this particular task. Which was great; his team was getting stronger too which meant he could probably challenge the gym with some ease.
Noah danced about with his candle, flailing it about like a sword. He had no interest in the moment at fighting, but caught sight of Eve staring down a bear looking creature. It seemed to be gesturing for her to bring it on, though she looked rather uncertain. Noah charged over and gave her a little smack on the side to urge her forward. She'd been sitting around long enough! She could take this thing! The Bulbasaur gave the otter a startled look before her head finally nodded. Right... maybe she could do this. All that watching others battle, she had a good idea of what she should do.
