61-70: You're fishing with a pole today, standing on the small floating dock. You see the bobber go under, and pull up hard. Sure enough, there's a whopper at the end of the line. It's a fight, and you can tell you've snagged the largest packtail you've ever seen. Unfortunately you yank too hard and the line snaps. Not only is your pole now useless, but the big one gets away. Worse, your fishing luck the rest of the sevenday seems to follow suit... You wind up with a whole lot of nothin'. -10 points
Sivu was doing so well, he thought he really good with something heavy on the line. Haitanth was ready to leap into action, to bring the heavy fish to the shore. Or, he would have - if the sharding pole hadn't decided to snap. Sivu dramatically yelled at its frayed pieces, his words swallowed up by rain and tide.
81-90: The line snaps and slices your hand right open. Ouch! Not only did you lose the haul, but you now have to visit the healers and get the wound dressed. Roll a D4 to see how severe your damage is! -5 points
This one is going to leave a scar. It will heal, but it's going to hurt! You'll still be able to fish, but you might want to wear some gloves.
With a curse, B'jor drops his tangled net into the line. Sharding fish. All of it. He'd much rather be carrying for the herdbest and trying to fatten them up for the weyr instead of splashing around in the water. He pressed a ripped end of his shirt to his bleeding palm on the way to the healers. It didn't look...that bad. He ordinarily would have tried to patch it up himself, if he wasn't completely certain Nonami would hit him with something if he didn't go get it looked at.
1-10. You don't know exactly what happened, but somehow you have wound up tangled up in a fishing net, out in the middle of the ocean. You thrash around and try hard to free yourself, but all you wind up doing is breathing in the salt-water. Thankfully, you're fished out by your fellows, untangled from the net, and dragged back to shore. Outside of being a little traumatized, roll a D4 to see what the results of your poor fishing happened to be! Your net was torn and will require some patching, using up some of the Weyr's supplies. Any fish that might have been caught in it are now free to swim another day, and you bring in nothing for the day. Outside of wounded pride, and wet clothes, you're fine to continue fishing another day. [-5 points]
Shalbyath quickly righted Nona from the waves. The net had her tangled he floundering in some of the seaside tide. With delicate claws, Nona was righted. Her net wasn't lucky enough to have survived, let alone catch much of anything.
With his hand far better then it had been, T'mul found himself back on the water--but this time with a hook and rod. For a brief moment in time, he thought he would finally bring in the monster packtail that had been eluding all within the Weyr... but alas, all he wound up with was a broken rod. Though Kibble gave a small cheep of encouragement, T'mul knew he was no fisherman. He was sure the Weyr knew it now, too.

D'emi was't exactly suprised when his fished ended up a bit...lacking. He's had far too much good luck the past few weeks. Spiderclaws and the sort. A heavy fish on the end of his line was of course going to break his line, and the pole. Scrandfibrith gently soothed his thoughts, there was always another day to try - wasn't there?
Week 4 T'mul: - 10 Kiri: -5 Kiri had been enjoying her time on the water, though she knew it had caused more than a little trouble for the Weyr. Some had lost fingers, while others had near drown. Perhaps it was overconfidence, but her luck had been lost. One moment she was bringing in a net of fish, and the next the line snapped! Unfortunately, her hand took the brunt of it-- the sting was enough for her to gasp in pain, and immediately hold her wrist.
Felisath stirred from where she had been settled on their ledge, eyes whirling yellow in alarm.
It's all right, I'm all right! She thought, trying to soothe her green.
Shaffit, that stung. So much for fishing... She'd need to get to the healers to have them clean it. The girl could only hope it wasn't as deep as it looked.

Aquiel wouldn't even awknowlege that stupid, dimbrained fish. That really huge, probably really delicious fish that was going around breaking a bunch of poles today. He was rippling with strength - sure, sure. But too much force on both sides just made the sharding pole eventually splinter in his hands.
11-20: You did great! Either you took some training in the Seacraft or you're just a natural! Regardless, you manage to haul in a net full of nothing but delicious silverfish. The delicacy will make some good eating! Yum, yum yum. +10 points
The satisfaction of pulling in caught fish was, surprisingly, plentiful, especially when food had been scarce. Silverfish was good eating, and he began the work of extracting the fish into buckets to carry back to the kitchens.

This time he found a bunch of edible greens, and stuffed his pack full of the sweet grasses. They weren't great alone, but he knew the Lower Caverns would be able to put them in various dishes for flavor.

Honestly, if K'ent just curled up like he wanted to this morning he wouldn't have been standing out here in the freezing wind for a whole lot of embarrassing nothing. He wanted to curl up, have a nice read, maybe some hot tea. But no - responsibility, being a dragon man. Sucking at fishing, his ever helpful green dragon added.
