Pikachu appeared happy as it launched itself upon Misa’s shoulder as Growlithe stuck close by her side. ’I guess every Pokemon has their own way of taking a loss. At least this guy doesn’t let the bad things keep him down.’ She was content at these changes but she wondered why her parents would send him to her. ’Did they…want a Pokemon to protect me? Or were they worried about me?’ The last thought may be more realistic than the other considering the Pokemon’s level. ’I’ll still give it my all to have him grow stronger.’ With an affirmative thought she and the Pokemon walked on out of the Pokemon Center. Not even three steps back in the city she was able to lay eyes upon her first target. Taking out the dex she gave the creature a quick scan. ”A level eight Mankey, a Fighting-type, and it has the moves: Leer, Focus Energy, and Scratch.” Misa knew that this was going to be a tough battle for Growlithe considering that this Mankey could potentially knock it out in one hit. ”Pikachu, do you mind taking most of the hits to help our new member here?” The yellow mouse looked at the puppy Pokemon and gave it a thumbs up. Growlithe, go on and challenge that Mankey.” The Fire-type barked in agreement as it went on over to challenge the Lv. 8 monkey.

The Battle had begun! As Mankey had a higher level than Growlithe it made its first move with Leer. It may have been thinking of taking down the weak creature in one hit but it wasn’t as if Misa was going to let that happen. Even while its defense was lowered by a level it wasn’t going to go any further than that. ”Growlithe, return to me.” The puppy Pokemon bounded over to its Trainer as Pikachu took the stage. It was then that Mankey used its Scratch Attack which dealt 40 Damage {Hp: 120/80}. ”Hang in there Pikachu, lets show it our Thundershock.” Pikachu accumulated its electricity before showering it down upon the monkey {Hp: 80/40}. But Misa wasn’t going to let that Pokemon get in another move. ”Finish this with a Quick Attack!” Pikachu body seemed to simmer slightly as it sped up at an incredible speed. In the blink of an eye it was able to knock the Mankey in its unconscious state. ”It never stood a chance against us.” The total of the Exp was seven but it was clear that Pikachu would get a bigger chunk while Growlithe would get the smaller bit. Experience was still experience even if it wasn’t able to do all that much in this battle.

With the battle concluded it was with certainty that Pikachu took the brute of it all. ”Thank you Pikachu for doing that for Growlithe. I’m sure that it is thanks to you that Growlithe learned something from all this.” Pikachu scratched that back of its head as the human praised its work. It would of said that it wasn’t that big of a deal but certainly she wouldn’t be able to understand. ”Could I see your wounds? I’d like to attain them as best as I can.” Pikachu came closer towards the girl as she criss-crossed on the ground. Digging through her pack she took out two Potions. ”It may sting a little.” It gave a small nod as Misa began to treat the yellow creature. She was right though, it did sting but it was real of her when she rubbed the spot. It felt like a soothing massage that took the pain right out of it. A few more sprays and massaging later Pikachu was back to 100% Hp. ”That takes care of that, thank you Pikachu.” It gave a cute little response just as Misa looked on over to Growlithe. It was rolling around on the ground and flopped once it look tired. ”Growlithe, are you hurt anywhere?” The fire-type immediately got on all fours as its tongue hanged off the side of its face. Misa stifled a laugh at the awkward face Growlithe was making.

Fremy Vs Brock The gym leader, an older male with brown spiky hair, slanted eyes with crossed arms and a confident stood at the ready. Shifting his weight from one leg to the other as Fremy stepped into the challengers box. Fremy already knew how she was going to combat the gym leader. "My names Brock and Im the Pewter city gym leader. I specialize in rock type pokemon and i accept your challenge. Go Geodude !" The male said tossing out his pokeball. In a flash of light a rock with a face and arms would come to sit on the battle field. "Go Wobbuffet." Fremy said holding out the white orb and releasing the psychic type. This would be over quick enough.

Brock scowled as he saw her choice in pokemon. a wobbuffet could easily turn the tide of any battle and to open up with one was never a good sign but he didn't seem willing to let this discourage him. "Let get this rolling, Magnitude !" Broock was shooting to OHKO the Wobbuffet to avoid the counter attack apparently, to bad. "Maneuver Alpha" Fremy said. Wobbufet was trained to take Alpha, beta, Gama and Delta as commands to hide which attack it was really using seeing as it could only learn four naturally.

Wobbuffet hit home with a super changed counter just as planed but the sturdy Geodude remained active. Change of plans, "Return, Go Noivern." Fremy switched pokemon knowing Wobbuffet wasn't going to win this match. A slight miss calculation. Wobbuffet might be useful in the second round, best keep him around.

Brock recalled his fallen pokemon. The Noivern was simply to overwhelming."Impressive but its not going to be enough. Go Onix" Brock said releasing his final combatant. The rock snake quickly filled the arena floor and towered over the dragon type Noivern. Fremy wanted to give Wobbuffet a second chance at ending this battle cleanly. "Return, Go Wobbuffet." This was a gamble but the risk was minimal.

With Wobbuffet back on the field it was clear what her plan was. Destiny bond the Onix and let it take Wobbuffet out thus taking itself out as a result. "Maneuver Gama" Brock didn't need a reason to attack before the bond could be seealed. "Onix Take it out fast !" The Onix was just barely able to swat the psychic pokemon away before the bond was about to set. this was accounted for. It would have been nice for earn the clean win but it just wasn't happening apparently. "Return. Go Noivern End this." she said recalling the psychic type and releasing the Dragon type once more. "Dragon pulse." Fremy said apathetically. The battle was boring now and she just wanted to get it over with.

Was this all he had to offer as a challenge. pathetic. This was hardly even worth her effort. This was to her just a waste of time and effort. Fremy awaited her reward with both hands held on her hips.

It tilted her head before pawing her leg. ”I’m alright Growlithe, thanks for your concern.” She breathed in a couple of time to calm herself. She didn’t know that the new member could be so silly. ”Are you hurt anywhere?” Growlithe tilted its head again as she asked this twice now. Pikachu popped in to the picture to explain what the human meant. Still, the puppy still seemed perplexed as it looked back to the human. It pawed her arm again as if demanding something. ”I guess you aren’t hurt then…ummm Pikachu is there something that Growlithe wants?” Pikachu went over to investigate and thus began communicating with the Growlithe. The two chit chatted for a few minutes before it looked like the yellow mouse was satisfied with its answer.

Pikachu made a somewhat familiar face, yes it was quite a familiar face. ”Gym Leader Brock? What about him?” Pikachu then went on to mimic a person fishing and then went on to mimic the puppy Pokemon watching. ”Does….does Growlithe want me to fish?” Pikachu gave a nod of its head as the human easily deciphered the meaning. ”I guess I would have to ask Mr. Brock about how I even use the rod he gave me.” One of the rewards of the Gym Battle was an Old Rod that could be used to catch Pokemon that inhabited the water. She could use this chance to ask Brock about the rod and maybe some more information about the next Gym Leader. All Misa knew was that the next Gym Leader was a Water-type user but she didn’t know anything else beyond that. ”Lets get going then you guys. I”ll do what I can Growlithe.” The puppy Pokemon barked happily as it tailed after the human. Pikachu hopped up on her shoulder with ease as they made their way to the Gym.
It wasn’t long that they reached the Gym. Nothing about seemed to have changed as Misa walked back into the building. The people passed by seemed to recognize her as they waved a friendly ‘hello.’ She waved in return and asked a member of the Gym where Brock could be found. She was informed that the Gym Leader was currently battling an opponent and was further asked to wait in the bleachers if she wanted word with him. With a quick thank you Misa made her way to the field just as the battle was just about to conclude. Two Pokemon she was unaccustomed to seeing in the Kanto region took down the Onix. ’I think they are from another region…and their appearance,’ she wasn’t sure why but the bat Pokemon struck her as odd.

Even though the battle had already concluded it didn’t seem like it was much trouble to the challenger. The woman appeared to have had some sort of plan to have taken down Brock’s Pokemon with such ease. ’She sure must be strong. I’m sure she trained a lot more than us to get her Pokemon to be as strong as they are now.’ Misa still was not sure who those two Pokemon were but they certainly possess some interesting skills. ’Different region Pokemon have their own secret powers, huh?’ It made her quite curious to know where these Pokemon hailed from and what their potential could live up to. Misa knew more about Kanto Pokemon than the other regions, well at least she knew about them. ’Maybe she traveled from other regions to battle Brock. Then she really prepared to battle him.’

For the time being it seemed as if the woman was awaiting the rewards of defeating Brock. ’Well, that is one way of looking at Gym Battle.’ Misa knew that Gym Leaders gave out rare items to those that defeat them and there were even Gym Leaders who could give you items that would assist one in their journey. ’Though I still need to ask Brock or at least someone on how to use this Old Rod. I’ve never really fished before and I don’t really know much about battling water-living Pokemon.’ Misa felt more accustomed to battling Pokemon in the wild or even in the city. ’Maybe I can wait till Brock is done with this Trainer,’ she glanced back down at Growlithe. ”How about we go wait a little further back,” Misa asked the two Pokemon. A piece of her wanted to give the defeated Gym Leader some time to take another loss. Who knows how many losses he had to go through and she wondered if that would ever happen to her. The child had yet to experience a loss and it wasn’t like she was trying to find one any time soon.

Being at ease and having its fur nicely stroked by the human cause the Growlithe to forget all its worries. The fishes could wait as it enjoyed the moment he and the human shared. Pikachu on the other hand kept a look out on the line. It did not forget the reason why they were here and nor would it allow the human to forget. In the meantime, doing what she was doing now was an alright pass time in Pikachu’s book. Perhaps another battle could happen or maybe some extra training. Yet, when it looked at Growlithe’s dopey face it felt like it was getting a bit too pampered. Pikachu wanted some attention to so it rubbed its cheeks against the child’s. ”I hope I’m not boring you Pikachu,” she gave a few scratches under Pikachu’s chin. The yellow mouse quite enjoyed that small bit of attention it was getting but now Growlithe was the one who wanted the attention back. It turned to face the girl and poke her belly with its paws. Despite his loss Brock only offered a smile to the young woman after their battle, his attention diverting momentarily just long enough for him to return his trusted partner. Fremy scoffed at the mans kindness or ignorance, which ever it may be. A waste of effort and concern on his part but it didn't matter. All she really wanted was the TM. Those where pretty hard to come by after all. It was worth the effort after all for this one jewel among the dirt. Fremy gingerly plucked the badge and TM from the mans hand not really wanting to touch him but having no real choice in the matter. Just making contact physically with a man was enough to make her skin crawl. She eyed the badge for a moment before stuffing it in her hip purse along with the TM. she already knew who she was going to be using the TM on. It was that new Carbink she'd stolen from that idiot on the road.
Turning to leave Fremy caught sight of a young girl, around maybe thirteen or fifteen. She was a little taller then Fremy but slimmer in frame. Long black hair and bright red to brown eyes. She was pretty admittedly but Fremy had more important things to do then be eye balling the girls on the city. Besides her Pikachu wasn't worth a dime on the market. Fremy pressed back the girl and her pokemon heading for the door. Outside Rapidash awaited her return. Her Bluderbuss was hidden inside a large rolled up leather cloth that made it look more like a tent then a gun. Stepping up to her horse pokemon she checked the saddle straps before preparing to remount the pokemon. Next stop was Cerulean City and the Cascade badge.

Some more time had passed before a familiar woman came passing by her. It was quite hard to forget such a woman considering what she wore. An eye patch, a vibrant blue flower headband, a cloth-like item covering just her…well she wasn’t sure if she wanted to look at that part of her area so Misa focused on other areas. The white hair, the black cape, and her quite long boots; everything about her outfit was quite……hmmmm Misa would most likely think mature. There was that air of mystery and confidence in the white-haired woman to a level that the child had yet to encounter. It could even be said that this level of maturity could be dangerous. Yet the idea did not enter the child’s mind at this first encounter.
With her fingers continuing to course through the fur of her Growlithe and Pikachu keeping a lookout on the line, Misa was able to enjoy that small piece of bliss. Being surrounded by her Pokemon was enough to make her content though the child wouldn’t deny the negative thoughts that would come from time to time. The fear that her Pokemon would one day run off on her because she was unable to understand them, their desires, their words, their anything. Misa tried very hard to do what she could to understand them as much as they were trying to understand her.
Growlithe looked up to the woman that appeared ready to mount the Rapidash. A familiar Fire-type buddy, in the its own opinion, from the same region it hailed from. It made a dash towards the fire horse but instead stopped short at the human instead. It pawed at her boot while looking up at her with its gray eyes. ”Growlithe!” She was surprised at the sudden behavior of the puppy Pokemon when it dashed away from another stroke of her hand. The distance between herself and the woman wasn’t considerable hard but there was no evidence that Growlithe would come back if she asked it to. ”I’m terribly sorry about this,” Misa lifted herself off from the stairs and made her way towards her Fire-type. ”He means no harm.”

Fremy had set a foot into the saddles holster and was just about to mount the Rapidash when a red blur of motion caught her eye. Fremy halted her advance and lowered the foot back to the ground just in time to find a Growlithe at her feet. The canine pokemon pawing at her boot earned no real emotional reacting but the sound of its trainer voice did. Looking up to find the pokemon apparently belonged to the girl from before. She had a pikachu as well. Fremy was a little in shock truth be told. Growlithe where fairy hard to train but where very loyal to their owners. The girl had to have gotten lucky to to have caught it, that or it was a gift. None the less it wasn't worth anything and even if it was it would never lose its bond to its trainer.
Squating down to be closer to its level. practically sitting on the back of her heels with an arm wrapped around her shines for support as she pet the canine. She had no ill will towards pokemon in general. She mostly just didn't understand them or why people swooned over them so much. It made no sense logically. Pokemon weren't human so why did anyone care? That was the question Fremy had always struggled to understand. "Its fine." Fremy said as the girl approached to reclaim her pokemon. Standing back up Fremy stood facing down the younger girl. She was about to try and remount Rapidash when suddenly the pokeball containing the stolen Hawlucha Erupted releasing the tiny macho bird pokemon.
Fremy stood frozen for a moment. This was her first time seeing the thing and didn't realize it was such a weird coloration. The bird flexed its muscles chirping what she could only assume where insulting comments her way. "Hawl lu chaa, walucha ! Cha chau Hawluuuu!" Fremy swatted at the pokemon angerily trying to grab but the pokemon nimblully flipped over her hand and kicked her forehead hard. It send Fremy craching to her rear end. The Hawlucah laughed. The Rapidash wasn't amused and bucked the bird off its back straight into Fremy's waiting arms. Holding the bird tightly to her chest with one arm she picked herself up off the ground. "Stupid bird." she mumbled under her breath not thinking the girl might hear.

The woman seemed to be well on her way to a destination she may or may not be aware of. However, with Growlithe pawing at her leg it seemed like she gave some consideration in petting the creature. Though the woman gave off perhaps maybe the not so friendlies vibe, Misa still came within a close distance to her. A calm ‘Its fine,’ came from the woman’s mouth after it seemed she had given the Growlithe a steady petting. Growlithe responded with closed eyes and a tongue lolling out of its mouth. Overall Misa thought that her behavior towards the puppy Pokemon was one that wouldn’t warrant any caution. It may have to do with her naïve sense of thinking. ”Growlithe,” Misa softly called towards the creature. It snapped its head back to the human child and ran over towards her. It placed both its front paws on her legs and looked up towards her as if it had done no wrong. ’I suppose you didn’t but then again you are still fairly young. Giving the creature’s left ear a gentle scratch she turned her attention back to the woman.
Words of thanks would have uttered from her mouth but instead an interruption of another peculiar Pokemon popped up. It was quite an odd Pokemon and not one Misa was accustomed to seeing at all. In a way it reminded her of the giant bat Pokemon she saw within the Gym. The coloration stood out but not so much as what it was. It was surely a winged or Flying Pokemon but its stance looked something close to what a Fighting type might take up. What was even stranger was the relationship between the strange creature and its Trainer. It was a first to see a Pokemon hit their Trainer in the head, specifically the forehead. It looked like it hurt too…’I guess everyone has their own different types of relationships with their partners.’ ”Would you like some help?” The Pikachu who had remained quite at this point appeared ready to give some assistance when Misa so wished. Though, it did have its concerns against the higher level creature. Even though it appeared like a Flying-type it didn’t mean that it would be an easy fight.
