Yeah.... oh well >w<;;; Also, unlike normal trainer battles, when defeating a Gym Leader's pokemon, you do not reward any exp until it is granted by a mod at the very end of the battle. This is to prevent members from challenging gym leaders and losing before the battle is over to re-challenge over and over for the EXP with no post count cost to them, so please remove the EXP you gave to your pokemon from defeating Geodude.
Leader Brock
Brock chuckled and simply nodded in response as Matt suggested that he had to use what he had. The rock type specialist expected nothing less of challengers coming into his arena, but that magnitude had been their only chance of doing some real damage unfortunately. With geodude weakened, his sturdy ability wouldn't keep him up after that vine whip to give them another shot. Brock recalled the boulder once he was knocked out, sending out his onix next just as Matt warned his bulbasaur about. "This is it onix, hit them with everything you've got!" Brock commanded, and the onix began to fling bloulders for a rock tomb, fast and furious at the grass type in hopes of knocking it out before it could do any real damage. It was pointless, Brock knew the durable starter could take this hit and keep coming, but that didn't stop him from trying. If he just gave up now, it would only put himself, and his pokemon to shame. It was always honorable to finish a battle to the end, and that was what Brock intended to do.

Like Matt had expected, Brock sent out Onix and immediately opened up with another Rock Tomb. Boulders began to rain from the sky, one connecting with Bulbasaur in its sunken stance and sending it tumbling back a few feet before it regained its footing. Matt waited for the attack to stop before issuing his own command. "It's our turn. Let's finish this with Giga Drain!" Matt yelled, cheering on his Bulbasaur. He was glad he had given his Bulbasaur the Big Mushroom he had found in the Viridian Forest. Though it wasn't totally necessary, it was still an extremely powerful and useful move to have on a Pokemon so young. Bulbasaur pointed its bulb at Onix and in one attack absorbed the remaining health from the rock-like snake and healed itself for a small amount. Dropping to zero health, Onix would struggle to stay up and eventually fall to the ground, creating a small tremor as it did. Matt threw his hand into the air and jumped, cheering for his first victory against the Kanto League. "Yes! We did it!! Good job Bulbasaur!" He yelled out with a wide grin on his face. His Bulbasaur excitedly ran to him and jumped into his arms. "Bulbaaa~!"

Brock knew he was going to lose then and there, but he still hadn't expected the bulbasaur to pull off a giga drain. That was quite impressive; a defeat that Brock was more than willing to accept. He returned onix to it's pokeball while Matt celebrated his victory, and then met the boy at the center of his arena. "You did a great job Matt. I can see that you and your pokemon are more than ready to move forward in your league challenge, and as proof of that, here is the boulder badge. You and your pokemon earned it." Brock nodded, handing the bit of metal over. "I also want you to have this. It's the TM for rock tomb, the move my onix used. It's one of my favorite moves, as you were probably able to tell." He chuckled. "Anyways, I'm sure you'll put it to good use. Good luck on your journey!" The rock specialist waved Matt off, turning to go heal his pokemon up.
Matt Received:

Matt was so caught up in the moment of winning his first gymm battle that he momentarily had forgotten he was still in the gym until he heard Brock walking towards him. He gave Bulbasaur a final pat on the head before returning it to its Pokeball and met Brock at the middle of the battlefield, where he was congratulated and praised on his battle. Matt nervously grinned and blushed, not good at accepting praise as he pulled down his beanie slightly. Brock then handed him the Boulder Badge and TM39 before wishing him a final good luck as he waved him off and left towards the back of the gym. Matt quickly put away his new items, took a deep breath and bowed to the gym leader. "Thank you very much for the battle!" He yelled, feeling extremely grateful to Brock for accepting his challenge. He had learned so much from this battle, and knew he would only get better at battling from then on. He felt a fire in his stomach that he normally only felt during battles and new he was on the right path in his Pokemon journey. As Matt walked towards the exit the man at the front gave him a grin and thumbs up. "Congratulations, champ in the making! Good luck at the next gym!" He said. Matt smiled and nodded before exiting the gym and back into the daylight of the town.

Matt's eyes took a few minutes to adjust from the dim lighting of the gym to the bright sunlight that now shone overhead. He blinked a few times outside of the gym before reaching into his bag and pulling out his Boulder Badge. He held it up towards the sky and stared at it for a few moments as it reflected the sunlight. He still couldn't believe he had won his first gym challenge. It was definitely a tough battle, and it was obvious Brock hadn't used his stronger Pokemon, but it still felt good to be praised by a member of the Kanto Pokemon League. Matt put the badge away and rested his hand on his belt full of Pokeballs. "You guys did great, let's get you to the Pokemon Center." He said, and made his way towards the Pokemon Center. In a matter of minutes Matt entered the Pokemon Center and was greeted by Nurse Joy. He walked up to the counter and handed over his Pokemon for healing. She told Matt it would take a few minutes to finish healing, and offered him access to the guest showers after noticing all the dirt on him from the battle.

Matt took his time in the shower, making the water as hot as possible before getting it. Since he was from Lavaridge Town he was used to hot springs. The thought of bathing in water that wasn't near boiling was sickening. He spent a several minutes washing the dirt of the last few days off of him him before stepping out, drying off, and changing into a fresh set of clothes that were identical to his last set. After showering Matt swung by the room, found the note Hayes left, and then went to the cafeteria and picked up some food, realizing half way through his shower that he hadn't eaten yet today. He loaded his backpack up with a few bags of Pokemon food as well and headed back to the front where Nurse Joy was waiting for him with his healed Pokemon. Matt also took this time to access his PC and store Heracross and withdraw Aipom. The Boulder Badger only let Pokemon up to level 25 obey him in battle, and Heracross was already too close to that. After changing up his party he decided to head towards the cave Hayes mentioned in the note.

On their walk back into the city, Hayes asked Matt about the Gym Battle; mostly little things, like the technicalities of the battle, since he wasn't all that well versed in it... so Matt seemed like a good person to ask. It occurred to him that he could've been using his Pokedex in order to figure out stuff on his own, but it'd been giving him a bit of trouble ever since he'd found it after losing it. He looked around once they'd crossed over into the city, noticing scattered people walking around, but they'd spent a large part of the day in the cave and it looked like it'd be dark in a couple more hours, so there wasn't too many people around. At the sight of the unpopulated town it occurred to him he hadn't had a chance to look around all that much, but before long the Pokemon Center came into view and the three of them all made their way inside.

Teddy drank in the rays of the sun as they left what Teddy had referred to as Dugtrio Cave. All the way back to Pewter City, he had become overcome with energy. "There are no words for how much I missed the sun. Teddy needs his Vitamin D!" he cried out as he ran across the final stretch to Pewter City. Dugtrio's Cave had been a fantastic training experience for Teddy and he was looking forward to the opportunity to return, but his Pokemon were beginning to tire as was he. Hayes led the way back to the city and subsequently the Pokemon Centre, which in Teddy's opinion was for the best, his first trip to Pewter City led him aimlessly around the city. When he arrived back at the Pokemon Centre, Teddy immediately checked his Pokemon in to be healed by the staff. It had been a long day for them and he was looking forward to a good rest, ready to train again in the morning.

It had been a long day, so after he'd handed over his Pokemon (except for Rotom, who he still had no idea where it'd gone) he had planned on getting a bite to eat before he headed up to their room for the night; he'd pick up the Pokemon in the morning. On the way to the cafeteria, he noticed there seemed to be a rumor or something that'd gotten around the building, as it looked like every second person he saw were whispering to someone else. I wonder what that's about... He thought as he took up a bit of food, having been unable to overhear anything. It had definitely spread around, whatever it was, so after he'd found a couple of doughnuts and a bottle of water he headed on up to their room, eating as he walked. He wasn't as hungry as he'd thought he'd be after spending all day out in the cave and walking around, so the light snack had been about as much as he could handle by the time he'd finished it and washed it down.
After he'd made it back to the room, Hayes spent a bit of time attempting to figure out the Pokedex he'd recovered, wondering if it'd been damaged in the time it'd been away from him, before he readied the cot that the Pokemon Center had brought up for him after a while. It wasn't the most comfortable bed, but it did the trick all the same and he drifted off to sleep after a while. After a bit of a rough night, he woke up in the early morning and headed out.

The night in his bunk once again was difficult for Teddy. Whilst the previous night he had slept in a pile with all of his Pokemon, this time they were all being treated by the Nurses to make sure they were healthy ready for the morning. There Teddy lay with only his quilt and no warm Pokemon kicking themselves up against him. So when Teddy awoke, the first thing he did was rush down to retrieve his Pokemon. They were all neatly on a tray ready for Teddy to attach back onto his belt. Excited to get going, Teddy scribble a note to Matt and pinned it to his shirt, telling him he was going for a morning swim with his Pokemon. Hayes had already disappeared for some reason, it was the opposite of what the group had done the day before. Ecstatic, Teddy left for a morning swim.

"I hear someone just left it behind." "Really? Do they know what kind of Pokemon it is?" "I don't think so..."
While he headed down to the Pokemon Center's main lobby in order to retrieve his Pokemon, he heard a lot of whispers along on the way. It must've been what'd been going around last night, and it looked like it'd gotten worse. "Uh, excuse me - yeah, hey." Hayes said as he passed another pair of people who'd been in the middle of talking about it, stopping at their side once they'd acknowledged him. "What is everyone whispering about?" He asked, unable to ignore all the whispering any longer. The pair of them looked at each other before answering, but after a moment turned back to him to fill him in on whatever had been going around the Pokemon Center. It didn't take long for them to explain what they'd been talking about; apparently someone had left an Egg behind in the city and it'd come into the Center's possession, and they didn't know what they were going to do with it, or what kind of Pokemon it even was. It seemed a particularly unnecessary thing to do, abandoning an egg, and it was an unpleasant thing to hear about in the early morning; especially when he was in the process of retrieving his own.

Just before he left the Pokemon Centre, Teddy handed Hayes a PokeBall he had been given by Andrew the Hiker. It contained the Pokemon Goomy. Teddy had felt bad concerning the amount of Pokemon he would be sending home to his mother in Johto. He felt that it would find a good home with Hayes.
As Teddy left the Pokemon Centre he was reminded about the hiking bag voucher he was awarded from battling Andrew the Dark Type Hiker. Before heading to the river, he stopped off by the PokeMart and redemmed the voucher. He immediately moved all of his belongings into the new sizeable bag, rolling up the towel given to him by Professor Oak and fitting it under the bag's top. He finally felt like he was ready for his journey now. Teddy wasn't sure how long he walked around Pewter City till he realised there was no place to swim. He was getting ready to retreat when he found himself attacked by a Pidgey. Swooping down on him, Teddy cried out "You've picked the wrong time to throwing up a Pokeball into the air, Wani-Wani was released into battle. The battle was over awfully quickly as Wani-Wani bit the Pidgey and followed up by with a Water Gun. Teddy nodded in approval at Wani-Wani's performance. It seemed that the training in Dugtrio Cave was working wonders.

The Pidgey disappeared shortly after the battle. Angry at the lack of swimming opportunities in Pewter City, Teddy kicked the ground, flinging a rock into the bushes. He sighed deeply and began to wander back towards the Pokemon Centre when he heard a rustling in the bushes. Turning his head slowly, to face the bushes Teddy was attacked by an Ekans. Running backwards to escape it, Teddy grabbed the first Pokeball he had on his belt, throwing it towards the Ekans. What was released, Teddy wasn't exactly sure if it was the best choice. "Sandile Saaaaan~" Sani-Sani cried. It was it's first battle and one that Teddy was unsure he could win. He had never used Sani-Sani in battle an really he was only travelling with Teddy till he found a home. "Sani. If you're okay with this. You can battle okay? I believe in you!" Teddy shouted to his newest Pokemon. Sandile nodded and leapt into battle. Biting his way to victory. Teddy was impressed at his latest team members moxie. He knew he would be a welcome addition.

...Hayes received a Pokeball from Teddy as he was on his way out of the Pokemon Center, and following that...
It didn't take long after he'd finished talking with them and left before he'd reached the main room of the Pokemon Center although the conversation was still on his mind as he approached the counter. It didn't seem right, abandoning an egg before it'd even hatched... what could've made whoever had done it think it a good idea? Or did they even care? An even more unpleasant thought, that, but as he approached Nurse Joy gave a halfhearted wave and it drew him back into the moment. It's not like I know everything about what happened, I guess. He thought as he attempted to put it out of mind, returning Joy's wave before he reached the counter and stopped.
"It looks like you're all early risers." Nurse Joy commented with a smile, although she tilted her head a bit after it didn't look like Hayes had understood what she'd meant. "Oh, I thought you'd have known; one of your friends already picked up his Pokemon and left - the enthusiastic one." She explained, and Hayes nodded after realizing she'd been talking about Teddy.
...didn't even know he was awake, he hadn't been when I left... but must've gotten up after and beaten me down here. He thought as he took the Pokeballs offered by Nurse Joy, only half-listening as she informed him they were in perfect health. Hayes put them away after he'd been handed them and was about to thank her until he noticed a Chansey in the back, and the egg on it's stomach brought another matter to mind instead. "Uh, Nurse Joy?" He cleared his throat before he spoke up, and the Pokemon Center attendant gave him a little look at the sound of it. "Is it, ah, true? What everyone is saying about the egg?" Hayes asked hesitantly, glancing away.
After a brief pause, apparently surprised at the question, she nodded in confirmation and then started to explain what had actually happened to him after he showed a bit more interest in the matter. In the end, it turned out that the rumor he'd heard had been accurate for the most part - the egg had been abandoned, the Pokemon Center didn't know what the Pokemon inside it was, and it hadn't decided on what they'd do about the egg. It all looked a bit unfair that the Pokemon had to go through this (even if it was an egg), and after he'd told as much to Nurse Joy and asked if there was anything he could do, she explained to him that if he wanted too he could look after it for a bit for her while she worked - there was a lot to be done and only Chansey and herself around to do it, so as long as he was around and didn't plan on leaving any time soon, he could look after it for a while.

Teddy returned Sani-Sani to his Pokeball and then back to his belt. He began to wander back towards Dugtrio Cave when he heard a screeching from above. Teddy swung his head around to see another Pidgey flying down towards him at an incredible speed. Teddy yelped as he jumped down to the ground in an explosion of dust. It was that blasted Pidgey that Teddy had been attacked by as he left the Pokemon Centre! Throwing out his Pokeball, he released Wani-Wani into the battle. "You looking for a rematch huh?" Teddy yelled. The battle was as short as it had been previously. The idea Teddy's team were too strong for the area, he decided to head back towards Dugtrio Cave in hope of another bout of intense training. Battling with Brock was still not a certain for Teddy, but if it was, he needed to be ready.
