Kale seemed to relax more completely when she finally announced what he'd hope she'd say. Gangrel. Her approach was met with an elusive smirk that lasted only seconds as he too closed the gap and clapped her on the shoulder in a friendly manner. "When you have to drag your starving a** up out of the earth after a millennia, then we'll talk about winning beauty pageants." It was amazing, he was far more warm with his own brethren then ever he would be with anyone else. Usually he said maybe one or two words, full sentances such as these were rare, very, very rare.

The larger male disconnected contact with her and turned his gaze skyward. He ached to fly again, yet the temptation of company with one of his own blood was far too great to ignore. He needed to bathe as it stood. There was much also much to relate. "I'm bathing, stay or follow, it's your choice." With that said he struck off in the direction of water. There was only a dying creek around these parts but it would serve to remove the worst of the grime. Kale was far from picky about his appearance, but the smell of dank earth did not please him in the slightest. And it seemed that the more he frenzied, the more bathing became a delight. The crow in him.. always the crow.

Rocky jerked slightly as he clasped her on the shoulder. The pressure beneath his paw was tight. More of a small discomfort to her. To anyone else it might of fell like a vice was clamped onto their shoulder. "Heh.." Her eyebrow dropped but the smirk remained. "I rather like keeping my feet on the ground instead of below it." The vampire had no drastic changes in the way she spoke to others of different clans than with her own. Her voice always had a gruff, perhaps even sarcastic tone to it most of the time. Only those who were really in her graces or on her s**t list got treated somewhat differently.

But she did not know this male. He was a stranger to her. Even if he was her kin she was never quite sure about anyone's intentions.

Blowing a puff of air between her dark lips, flipping pieces of her bangs up before they settled against her forehead once more. "No fun in just loafing around." She shrugged and quickly took after him. Her feet making nigh a sound. As if they never touched the ground.

The short sound of rustled leaves, then the glint on a golden orb were the only things that would have gotten her caught, if she had been sneaking. At this point, she was just coming back from hunting, and the fur showered it in places, were there was a small smear of blood.

The wind twisted her orange around her face as she licked the last vestiges of blood from her lips, she was content, for the moment, glad she hadn't gone so long without as the time before, she had realized that was dangerous.

Blinking her golden orbs she stepped into the light of the mood, and out of the woods, tail flicking, hips swaying. It seemed not only the tigress in her had sway, but also her body remembered part of what she used to be, though she couldn't barely remember anything with her mind of her past life, and she didn't really care. What matter was it to her?

Adjusting herself, tugging at the clothes that adorned her body, flexing the gloved hand idly, licking a bloody claw, she settled under a tree in the open, crossing her legs and smirking to herself, she started fingering her dirty claws, having nothing else at the moment to entertain her, and the morning still a little ways away. She fingered the claw dangling from her ear as she closed her eyes and let her head fall back, the mysterious smirk still upon her lips.

Kale was unnervingly quick for a male of his build and as quiet as mist as he moved across the earth, a great beast in the night. He could sense her reserve and had no qualms regarding it. The behavior was not uncommon and to think someone a loyal friend simply because they were of the same blood was foolhardy and dangerous. He made his intentions clear enough, friend, not foe. Soon, once his awakening high was over, he would likely shut away and become less aimiable towards others, even his own. For now, such wasn't entirely the case. Ah, how many moons since he had last seen his own brethren? Many, too many. Not since before he'd dug his way into the earths cold embrace and slept away the years.

The sound of water caught his keen ears and he turned abruptly, ending at his destination and stepping into what water there was. The creek was dying, slowly, but it was dying. The water wasn't nearly as deep as he would have liked but he made do and stepped across, kneeling with his back to the woods and his front to Rocky. Trust only went so far. "We have company." His voice was a low, growl of warning as he spoke, his bright, alarming eyes shinning brilliantly in the darkness as a crow gave call from the woods behind him. The scent of another was evident, that and the scent of another kill. Not his own. Hunting near Gangrel territory. An interesting enigma.

He was fast, but not to the point where Rocky couldn't keep up. She loved to run actually. It always made her feel so free and wild. And she was wild. Sure she could put on a facade of calmness, but beneath the calm water's surface, the wild beast lurked.

As it appeared that he had reached where he was going, the female stopped abruptly. Keeping to the tree line and finding a nice, semi sturdy looking tree to lean against. Gold eyes focusing on his muscular form as it knelt in the dieing creek. She made break of her gaze. Rocky wasn't one to turn an eye away even in the most awkward situations. Well, awkward for some at least. "Hm, you just noticed?" A dark smirk soon came as an ear twisted in no particular direction. "Mmm, well. If they feel like making themselves known I'm sure they'll stroll right up." Rocky's voice had a bit of a sarcastic tinge to it. If they were Gangrel, well, she expected them to approach. If they were just some lowly little vampire out for their thrills they'd probably leave once they realized they weren't alone.

Either way, tonight seemed to be turning out a bit more interesting then the female vampire had expected.

Kale shook his head softly, his bright, golden eyes intelligent and wild in the night. She had attitude and was rather cocky, but all types made up Clan Gangrel. If you couldn't take care of yourself you didn't belong. For you'd be eaten up by the beast, or other vampires, in no time flat. He soaked himself in the pathetic stream, washing away both ages of earth and fresh blood until his pelt shone a cream or light tan against the dark brown of soil. The stream had clouded as he washed and slowly began to thin out, eventually becoming clear as the Ancillae finished washing. He wasn't here for a spa day, he wanted the task over and done with. His paws splashed water over his face and across his shoulders, the liquid running down his neck and dripping to the moist grass below. He looked like a wet dog.

With an upward glance and a slight cocking of the head he focused. Who roamed their territory? He prayed, for the sake of the intruder, that they were of like blood. Or of allied status. Kale's powerful legs lifted him upwards, his body rigid and strong, no longer expelling a warm, hearty air. He was coming back into himself rather swiftly. In an instant he began to shake himself dry, droplets of crytalline water sailing away into the night until all that remained wet were his wings. They shook, fluffed and settled while the male tilted his face skyward, closing his eyes and inhaling the night. It was beautiful. Even after all this time, under so many moons, he never took for granted the wild call of the night. He was Gangrel, strong, swift and active once again. His startling gaze settled on Rocky, a slightly feral, though controlled, look settling upon his features before he chose to speak. "Shall we make our new guest feel 'welcome'?"

Rocky's own eyes for a brief moment had shifted off in no particular direction. Her attention caught briefly by various noises and movements in the forest.

The place always felt more...alive at night.

But soon her eyes fell upon Kale once again. Noting how much cleaner he looked. Must of really been hell wherever he had popped out of. "You sure your not a Malk? Cause you were just reading my mind." The female chuckled, deep and low as she rubbed her thumb once across the bottom of her nose. "Then climb out of the hole and lets get goin'. No need to let our guest, whoever they are, wait any longer."

Kale gave a sharp exhale of laughter through his nostrils in regards to her comment. Malkavian. "Such a polite host, are we?" He rolled his shoulders back, flexing the long unused muscles and shaking out his tension. His sharp, bone-white canines flashed menacingly in the darkness, the dangerous tools of a predator. He turned on his heel and struck off in the intruders assumed direction, going at a slower pace both to keep in time with his hunting companion and to keep the noise down in an effort to avoid startling their prey.

The moonlight would do them no favors but that was the beauty of enhanced abilities. Gangrel may have been known as 'Guard Dogs' to most of the vampire world. But these dogs were anything but tame. His unusually thick, coal black claws flexed intimidatingly in the darkness, his pelt nearly dry and rested somwhere between sleek and wild in the dusty silver gloss of the moon. His eyes were like golden fire in the darkness, glancing to keep Rocky in his sights while he listened closely for any sound of the mystery beast. The sound of a crow called rauciously from the treetops ahead of them, sending an ominous chill through the air.

Erika picked her way carefully through the woods this night. It wasn't that she feared the typical issues of the night, she just knew which ones lived here and was in no way ready to upset them. After all, if anyone could match a Brujah in pure force it would be a Gangrel, hell, they had claws to add with that.

Still she ventured on knowing she should in all sense be fine. She had known the Gangrel Elder for a while, and it was because of this that she ventured so easily into the area, albeit careful not to upset any Gangrel she meet along the way. For a moment she paused though as a thought crossed her mind. What of the Disciple? Did they too have one lurking amongst them as Trolie did with the Brujah?

The thought alone made her stop in mid place, suddenly every little sound of the night just got a bit more unnerving to her.

Perched atop a rather dangerously rotted beam, Ennoia had little else to do aside from keeping an eye on their surroundings. It never hurt to see who was coming and going, and it at least gave her a bit of entertainment on a night that would have otherwise been very dull. Her keen gaze caught the scurrying of large rodents around the perimeter of the building the Gangrel clan has adopted as their own, along with the occasional rustle of an owl's wings within the darkened trees nearby.

She couldn't help laughing when the distinct sound of footfall drew nearer, and she began her descent to the ground in order to meet whatever unfortunate visitor had happened upon them tonight. Feeling a bit hungry, she hoped it might be a creature disposable enough to feed upon.

Scratching at her stomach like a hungering mortal that had just gotten up for a midnight snack, she tread cautiously through the underbrush, eyes catching the glimmer of the moonlight. She looked like a true predator until she caught a glimpse of who the 'unfortunate visitor' actually was - and she laughed again, for her own mistake.

"Little far from home, aren't yeh?" She inspected Erika up and down and peered around her to be sure that she hadn't brought anyone along, wondering why she was visiting her unannounced, as if the Elder could really have been reached to make it anything otherwise. Smart clans had learned by now not to send messengers.

For a moment Erika seemed to loose track of things, or perhaps she was trying to hard to keep track of them that she missed the most important ones.

Or worse yet: she was nervous.

Either way when Ennoia spoke it caused the other Elder to jump slightly and turn to face where the Gangrel Elder emerged from the brush. "Well if you didn't live so far that wouldn't be a problem of distance now would it?" Once again compsed she made her way over towards Ennoia. "I know how you take to visitors, not just that but the fact is what I came here for is something I don't just randomly trust others with. You and only one other so far will know the extent of what I'm asking."

Ennoia wrinkled her nose at the thought of living amongst the cesspool of mortals like so many of the city-loving clans enjoyed. Her scouting and choosing of an area that was set aside from anywhere any sane being would find 'appealing' had been a very calculated decision, despite how the general consensus assumed Ennoia thought. She may have been disgusting by normal standards, and had the appeal of a three-week-dead dog, but she knew when some things were important - which was why Erika's statement caught her attention.

"Try livin' among all that hustle an' bustle s**t in the city when yer me. Ain't happenin'," she muttered, third ear twitching. Where most would have likely invited their guest into their home, Ennoia simply found a relatively clear spot and plopped down, making fists into dried leaves as she stared up at Erika and expected her to do the same. "Wha's on yer mind, hm?" She tried to get to the point; she wasn't terribly flattered that Erika trusted her, and didn't care to ask who the other mentioned might be.

"If I was you Ennoia, I would probably be in the same situation you're in now. And if you were me, you would most likely be here in my place asking for my help. But that's not the point. I'm here in your little piece of the world right now."

Once she was in arms reach of the Gangrel elder Erika would offer a simple clap on the shoulder, she trusted Ennoia, one of the few Elders from their day still alive and ruling over their respective clans.

"I have someone I want you to keep an eye on, and another I want you to seek." Reaching into a bag at her side she drew out a book flipping to a page displaying a sketch, the vampire was mostly tan with red hair, a girl, obviously Sofia. "I need you to seek her and the other Anarchs, I would ask the Nosferatu but I don't trust them one bit and I'm sure you can find someone just as easy." She glanced around again, "And I need you to keep an eye on the Malkavian elders, a new one has come into power, and I've asked the other, Jezebeth to aid us. I don't however trust that he will grant my wish to bring the girl Sofia to me. Both sane and alive."

She smirked, "I'd like to think you could subdue anyone with out killing them, but I can understand if the goods are... damaged... after all you do have such lovely claws that might happen to slip in now and then."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 05, 2008 11:48 pm

The hypothetical was a bit much for Ennoia, so she resolved to ignore it entirely. Why wonder so technically about what sort of situation or decisions she would be making at this very moment if she were Erika, when she never would be? Sometimes she didn't understand anyone else's logic. But she was here, fair enough, and Ennoia had made it clear that she was willing to listen.

Her skin crawled as Erika touched her, and she made a face as she felt far too many fleas scurrying to safety to avoid whatever doom surely awaited them. Scratching fiercely at her shoulder after Erika moved her paw, she did her best to concentrate on what she was being told while still attempting to stop the itching.

There were only a few occasions where she had ever seen Sofia, and the two of them had certainly never spoken. She was familiar enough for Ennoia to recognize her from the sketch, but she regretfully didn't know enough about the girl to know why all of this had come about. Sometimes apathy regarding the scandals within the clans and the vampire community had its disadvantages.

"Sure you ain't gonna change yer mind an' ask one of them Assamites?" She spoke the name with a vicious tone, eyes portraying an unimpressed opinion. Honestly, it sounded more like a job for someone of that clan, but she was willing to do it. She wasn't about to turn down something that would give her a bit of adrenaline. Her claws flexed as they were mentioned, and she tilted her head with a crooked grin spreading across her face - an expression that asked 'who, me?'. "Ain't too keen on Jez, but if yer confident with 'im." She shrugged.

"An Assamite might be good at doing such a task, but I have no contacts among them, nor do plan to let them know any of my business asking a favor from the start." Glancing around to be sure that no other Gangrel or any other vampire was near she continued on. "I'm asking you to watch Jez as well because being a Malk it's hard to say at all what his motive or actions will be. You are to keep him in line if he gets out of hand during the hunt."

"Sofia has been toying with Lasombra, if she can gather more allies from that clan we'll have a very big problem on our hands. She knows enough of the Camarilla from her time with us before she followed that b*****d Dante to Lasombra's door. Turn her away from their, well of course she targets the Sabbat and Lasombra, but she also plans to strike us as well. We need to stop that from happening."
