~ Raff ~

It was hard not to smile as, watching Rain sashay his way away from her, Raff caught sight of others admiring one of his finer traits along with her. It made her feel less alone in her off interest and frankly it reinforced a bit of her confidence as well; Raff never gave herself time for men and to know her taste in them was appreciated by other attractive beings was a small ego boost. Shaking the petty satisfaction from her mind Raff let the fluttering confusion from his kiss slip away for later consideration, turning her attention towards the gentleman now holding her second present and the woman felt her head tilt at the unique sound of his voice. Wayne, was it .. A soft inhale confirmed what her gut was telling her; The scent of this male was familiar yet distinctly different from those around them. It was the scent she'd started to associate with The Club itself and perhaps due to how welcoming the Lady of the house was or just how easy it was to breathe here Raff had started to subconsciously relax when she neared the odd staff members referred to as Sniffers. Gently, wary of her own strength, Raff accepted his offer of escort by slipping her arm around his offered elbow lightly and allowed him to lead her into the elevator; The woman's voice soft among the myriad of sounds in the club as she thanked the man at her side. " Thank you, I appreciate the assistance." Given the state she had been in when she'd arrived it honestly was like night and day the difference this visit had made and, never one to take things for granted, the woman added sincerely. " Could you please pass on my gratitude to Ice for the outfits as well? I will treasure them." Cas, the instigator of this, Raff would thank personally when next she was able and Rain... Well... Rain was a complicated matter. The doors to the elevator slid closed and Raff exhaled gently, her free hand lightly rolling the mint she'd kept in her grasp discreetly as she weighed the implications of what she'd learned tonight. It was going to be a long morning... And she had work to do.

Ravari huffed a bit as Ice tapped her nose and then caressed her cheeks to flatten her fur from her blush. She knew that he wanted to see this reaction from her. He liked to push and tease her like this, but she knew that he never had any sort of malicious intentions. He genuinely wanted to help her. Still, that didn't mean that she couldn't get a bit huffy over it.

She was visibly surprised when he leaned in to press his cheek against hers so that would both be looking in the same direction. She froze for a moment as he described what he wanted her to do. It was true that he did exactly as he was describing every time they came up here. But she had never done it before. Aside from her one-sided crush on Rain, she really hadn't been able to find anyone particularly attractive since she had escaped from her captor. She knew that Ice was probably trying to help her out with that particular issue, but it was slow-going. Still, she would try to indulge him so that she could hopefully make him happy.

Her eyes moved over everyone on the dance floor, pausing from time to time as she considered her response to Ice's request. She had to giggle just a bit at his comment about the man in the yellow corduroy, but she was clearly focused on trying to do what Ice had asked.

It took some time, but she eventually pointed out a man that she thought Ice would find promising. "I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure that he fits most of those categories," she said. "Great abs, great chest, and forearms that I know will make you giddy." She paused for a moment as she experienced a feeling that she hadn't felt in a very long time and then gestured towards the brunette that Sam had been turned down by earlier in the night. "When it comes to the best a**, though, I think that I have to give that distinction to her. And the rest of her is pretty nice, too. I can see why Sam would've hit on her. And I can see why she would've told him to piss off. She's so far out of his league that she's practically playing a different game entirely."

She tried to sound confident, but Ice would be able to pick up on the nervousness in her voice and the way that she was rubbing at the scars on her wrists. She really didn't want to disappoint him. But it was clear that she was genuinely finding someone attractive for the first time since he had known her. She just seemed a bit confused about the fact that the one she was attracted to was a woman. She knew that she liked men. Her crush on Rain made that clear. But she had never gotten to explore herself in any meaningful way, so it had never even crossed her mind that she might be attracted to women as well. She had joked earlier about showing Sam up in front of the women he liked hitting on, but she hadn't realized that she could be interested in actually doing it.

Wayne was a perfect gentleman as he escorted Raff to her car, simply giving her a nod and a small smile to indicate that he'd pass on her messages as they passed the two Sniffers already manning the entrance. Once she was safely in her car and on her way, he headed back inside.

The first one he spoke to was Cassarria, passing on the message that simply earned him a throaty chuckle before he was waved off with a wink as she headed for her own apartment deep under the building.

From there, he headed to find Ice. Easily done since the demon was usually found in only a few places these days. When he saw Ravari with him, Wayne gave them both a nod, "Ice, message for you from Raff. Her gratitude, and she will treasure them," he told him as simply as possible.

Ice gave a giggle, "As simple as always, Wayne. Thanks. Give Greg a kiss for me," he told the Sniffer, grinning when he blushed but nodded anyway before moving on. About half of the Sniffers that worked here played for the same team that Ice did and he loved teasing them. Thankfully they took it with good graces.

As they were left alone, Ice gave Ravari a kiss to her cheek, "Good girl! Very nice choices. If Ms Raff played for that team, I'm certain she'd take you up on that offer. Unfortunately, she also bites so that's out. But I do have a couple of choices for you to see about flirting with when you're ready for it. For now, though, I think I've had about noise for the night. I need a nap before I can be creative again and you need one before you blush yourself silly," he declared in his usually dramatic fashion.

Thankfully, she was used to his mannerisms by now and knew that he meant what he said, "Besides, you need to try on the new jammies I had made for you," he added. He'd been serious about that too. They'd been delivered while they were in the club.

And Ice knew how much his bestie loved presents!

He got to his feet and pulled her from the booth with him, giving a yawn at the people on the dance floor, "We'd better get me out of here before I give that idiot fashion advice. I'm very likely to strip him and burn that insult to fashion he's trying to wear," he couldn't resist the jab at the corduroy and they both knew it.

He kept hold of her hand as they made their way around the dance floor and into the elevator that would take them to the floor their apartment was on. While in the elevator he put his head on her shoulder despite the fact that he was taller than she was. It usually meant that he had a headache. He didn't get them often and he didn't talk about them but he did tend to cuddle when he had one.

His cuddles meant that she wouldn't be able to 'blink' out if she had a nightmare, so she never complained about it. Plus, he had a feeling that she liked his cuddles.

Once the elevator opened, he let her lead the way to their apartment where the packages were waiting in the living room for her. He always loved spoiling her and he did it with style. Especially after she picked out her favorite colors...

Meanwhile, Rain had given Cassarria a brief talk about his time with Raff. He didn't reveal much. Just that she'd fed and left pleased. Then he'd gone to his own apartment to clean up and rest.

He didn't actually work in the club. He was one of the Elders for the Hylarr clan living with Cassarria now. There were three of them. He'd been in the position for a long time and he didn't regret taking it on. But he did wonder when he should let someone else take it.

He gave a heavy sigh as he relaxed in bed and closed his eyes, picturing a fall of dark hair as he fell asleep...

Rain walked through the Club the next night, easily making his way through the people that always loved to come here. He checked in with the head of security briefly then moved to checking on the few Hylarr that had taken jobs here.

Hylarr skills with a blade were legendary and they were playing it up. Three females and four males rotated through the floors, giving demonstrations of their skills in specially built rooms. They were all glass and gave a full view of the skills on display. Tonight it was a female named Rraissa demonstrating dual axes on the Devil's Floor, and a male named Surrgass demonstrating dual swords on the Shifters Floor. Both were experts with their weapons and the demonstrations leaned towards the bloody side of life, but the other participants were all sentenced to death anyway. This was their one chance to get out of the sentence. If they managed to survive the demonstration, they were allowed to leave alive.

He'd seen some of the reasons for those sentences and he had no sympathy for them. They'd earned their deaths at the hands of the experts killing them.

He finally moved to the bar in the main room of the Shifters Floor and nodded for Laura to get him a drink as he listened to the deep beat of the music for the dancers. He closed his eyes and tried to relax but it was difficult tonight. He kept thinking about Raff and it was getting distracting.

He felt someone stroking a hand over the fur on his shoulder and frowned as he moved away from the touch to look at who had such audacity. He found himself looking at a young woman, a fox shifter from her scent. Thanks to Cassarria he knew who she was but that didn't make what happened any easier to deal with. The slim blonde actually giggled at his frown and twirled a lock of her hair around one finger, "You don't have to frown at me, you know. I'd like to go to the back rooms with you and... cuddle," she left way too much innuendo in that statement and he felt his temper getting close to snapping, "I did pay for the full VIP treatment tonight, after all," she added, that line pulling a low growl from him.

He straightened up to his full height, standing to 6'3", a good foot taller than the little idiot in front of him. He raised a hand and waved over someone even taller who moved up behind the girl, "Sorry to disappoint you, Miss Sera, but the staff in the Club are not prostitutes nor are any of them under any obligation to do your bidding on a whim. Furthermore, your parents have already left word with Cassarria that if you pull one more stunt in here, you are to be permanently banned from the Club for life," he informed her calmly but firmly as the music was cut for this scene. By morning, everyone in New Houston would know that this young woman from a rather prominent family was now banned from the hottest location in the area.

The silence was more deafening than the music had been, to be honest.

The girl in front of him wearing a scrap of pink cloth that could barely cover her much less be called a dress, gave an outraged sound that reminded him of a toddler having a tantrum, "My parents would never do that! You're making a big mistake by turning me down and trying to kick me out of here! You'll pay for it if you even try to-"

She was interrupted when Carlos simply put his hands around her waist and tossed her over his shoulder. At 7'4" and almost 350 pounds of muscle, the largest of the Sniffers wasn't a person that most people argued with. She still kicked and thrashed as he turned to carry her out of the building, with the entire floor watching.

Rain simply waved one hand with a polite smile, "Bye!" he called out before signalling to the DJ to start the music up again then sat back down to nurse his drink with a sigh.

At least this one hadn't tried what the last one had... He'd kicked out three so far, all of them on the warning list for entitled behavior like he'd just dealt with. And all of them wanted a taste of bedding a Hylarr. The last one had tried a thigh grab and had clawed him in the process. She'd gotten the same treatment as Sera but had gotten the added punishment of her father walking out with her.

While he healed very well, the claw marks in his inner thigh still stung and it was making his temper shorter than usual. Thankfully, his fur his a lot and no one could see it. But he was deliberately avoiding the Vampire Floor right now.

He gave another sigh and a tired smile when Laura replaced his empty glass. He simply nodded to her as he picked it up to take a sip. He'd come to like the Mojito a great deal when his clan came here, something about the mint calming him and reminding him of the mints he used to help with his rare panic attacks. He hadn't experienced one in just over a year now and he was grateful for that. But the nightmares were still exhausting.

Well... When he wasn't dreaming about something else...

Serafina Hearthstone
~ Raff ~

This was a mistake. Inhaling softly the woman paused mid step as a piercing silence engulfed the space around her; The chilled blue of Raff's eyes following the screeching child as she was hoisted high over a Goliath of a man's shoulder and carried out of the room just as Raff herself had entered. She'd followed the sly directions of Willa from the entry floors, ignoring the woman's playfully smug grin when she'd asked about Rain's wellbeing and pursing her lips when the female simply instructed her to see after the man's health herself. The plan had been to just slip in and check on him, then slip back out once her concerns were appeased... Hunting for the man from floor to floor undermined her attempt at stealth. And yet here she was.. Far from her typical outfit Raff was dressed in a rather modest style; her slightly too-big army green cargo pants resting low on her hips and held in place with a simple black belt that made a stark contrast to the pale skin of her bared midriff. The black crop top tank she'd chosen swept into a soft V across her bodice and barely covered her ribs as an oversized hoodie swallowed her slender shoulders in a excess of dark coarse fabric. The sleeves were too long and, between the massive jacket and her black sneakers, Raff looked much smaller and quite a bit younger than she'd normally present herself to be. Modest makeup graced her features, enough to be noticed but in far softer tones than her typical style... And the hood to her hoodie was raised, covering her loose hair and protecting her face from absent glances as she'd snuck out of her bedroom window just after sunset and made her way here on foot. It has been a lovely parkour trip and the jaunt had given her time to plan out her visit and yet... Two minutes into her 'get in, check on him, and get back out' mission and things had already hit a snag. Everyone she'd asked had just smiled and said the same thing: Go ask him yourself. As if they knew damn well she was trying NOT to ask him directly..

Lost in her inner rumblings Raff flinched as Rain's voice split the air in the wailing girl's wake; instinctively reaching up to ensure her hood was still low over her features as her gaze sought the source of his displeased bark. The noise started up again and people shuffled back to their own amusements and finally Raff caught a glimpse of the male at the bar, his broad shoulders clearly still a little tense from whatever had just happened between him and the girl that had just been removed.. but Raff let out a low sigh of relief as her intense study yielded no other signs of injury on him. Yes.. he'd seemed fine when they parted last night but there had been a nagging unease plaguing her all morning that maybe .. just maybe he'd been faking it for her sake. It was still hard to believe he wasn't hurt from her bite and she wanted to see-- Cutting off that thought the woman felt her lips purse again with a hint of self-targeted resignation. Him. She'd wanted to see him, as selfish as that felt. So she'd snuck in and had every intention of sneaking back out before she troubled him with her worries..

Stealth wasn't a strong suit for the typically bold woman but this time she'd taken steps to ensure she wasn't caught, dressing so drastically different and 'borrowing' her Gardener's hoodie to hide her scent under the thick masculine musk that radiated off of the fabric. On some level it was very telling just how unsteady she felt about Rain given the lengths she'd gone to to hide from him, where normally she wouldn't dream of hiding from anyone.. But he wasn't 'anyone' and it bothered her how badly she'd wanted to see him again. Raff wasn't going to approach him. She didn't need to feed and she'd made sure he was alright so it would be childish to disturb him when he seemed tired already. Attachment forming this quickly was naive, she knew that, and yet there was a distinctly protective swell of irritation in her as Raff realized another woman was sliding her way towards Rain's resting place with a rather intent expression. Okay. So she wouldn't bother him but.. she could at least buy him some peace and quiet right? That wasn't meddling too much was it? Wrapping the man's hoodie tighter around herself to snuff out as much of her own scent as she could Raff let her soft pink lips curve into a friendly smile; Her voice intentionally lowering into a party-girl purr over the music as she slid her arm around the offending Woman's waist and drew her attention towards the dance floor with a elegant point of her finger. What she whispered into the woman's ear was sweet and entirely false, luring the female with her onto the dance floor and playfully leading her into a dance among the other club goers. It was honestly fun, despite herself Raff lost track of time as she waited for her unsuspecting ally to take the bait she'd brought him, and before she knew it she'd slipped up a little in keeping herself covered as they moved on the dance floor. Sam, poor dear Sam, didn't even give her a second glance this time draped in her hoodie as she was but he was very quick to latch on to the girl she'd lead to him so helpfully.. Raff honestly a little smug at how well her diversion had gone as she quietly started to weave her way to the elevator. She'd made sure Rain was okay and she'd protected him from a floozy... Surely that bought her a little karma for stalking him a little? Shaking her head as she reached the edge of the dance floor Raff skirted into the much quieter hallway leading to the elevators; Her shoulders relaxing with relief as she mused softly to herself. " Now we escape before we're caught." Cas would never let her live it down if she saw her acting like a teenager with a crush.. and Rain? Heat tinged the tips of her ears as she caught the edge of her hood and yanked it lower impulsively. " Get it together, you just returned a favor.. Rain is safe so focus." Lifting her gaze to the reflective closed doors in front of her Raff froze at the sight of her own blushing reflection, her eyes widening for a moment before a deep sigh escaped her lips and she dropped her face into her palms with a weary resignation. "... Something is wrong with me." She needed to hit the elevator button and put distance between herself and this place before this silly feeling stole her good sense entirely.

Rain frowned when he caught a faint hint of scent that made him turn to look behind him. But after looking at everyone near him he shook his head and turned back to the bar.

It couldn't have been her. His mind was playing tricks on him now.

He'd caught her scent when she'd fed from him and it had stayed with him. Not her perfume, even as subtle as that was. No, deeper than that. It had flooded his senses in those brief moments when she'd had her fangs in his neck and pulled on his vein. The combination of the feed plus her scent had been intoxicating for him.

Vanilla... With a hint of caramel to it...

It was bad enough that he'd made vanilla pancakes with a caramel syrup for his breakfast after waking up with her scent in his memory.

And now he felt like an idiot...

He shook his head and told Laura that he was done for the night then stood and headed for the elevators.

On the way he was stopped briefly by yet another entitled twit thinking that he was a guaranteed lay. This time he wasn't as polite. He pulled his arm from her grasp with an annoyed growl and stalked to the elevator.

Once there he noticed that the woman waiting with her back to him had already pressed the button. Thankfully the doors opened and he followed her in while checking his forearm and pressing the button for the seventh floor.

He stepped back with his focus on seeing if he was bleeding or not. It wasn't, just a sting from the nails raising a few welts. Didn't help his temper much but he still made the effort to quiet his growl so he wouldn't scare the woman in the elevator with him as she pressed for the first floor.

The Club took up floors nine to fourteen with the other floors holding the apartments for the workers and carefully chosen guests. The Hylarr had been given floors six and seven, security had floor eight, the Sniffers had floors two to three, the vampires had one of the basement floors, and guests and other workers filled out the other floors. Cassarria's floor required a special key and very few people knew where it was, but rumor had it almost subterranean level.

"Wish I knew why they all thought I was fair game for propositions tonight. Getting really tired of getting clawed up by idiots..." he muttered to himself as he leaned back against the wall of the elevator and closed his eyes with his arms crossed. But closing his eyes with a heavy exhale made him take in a deep breath and he smelled -

No.... It couldn't be... It wouldn't be her...

He opened his eyes and looked at the woman in front of him with a curious frown, "Raff?" he questioned softly, his tone showing that he didn't believe it could really be her. He couldn't be that lucky, could he?

~ Raff ~

Dear gods, this was such a mistake.. The moment she'd felt someone walking up behind her Raff had taken it as a sign to get moving, stepping into the elevator only to turn and realize too late that the man following her in was the exact person she'd wanted to hide from. Worse... she'd caught a faint glimpse of what had happened between him and that handsy woman in the reflection of the door as it opened. His form hadn't been clear but she'd noticed someone having trouble... to know it was Rain getting pawed at yet again was enough to have her fangs itching in displeasure. A soft huff escaped her lips despite herself and Raff cuddled her hoodie closer, her sleeve-wrapped arms hugging her protective layer as she turned her head to study the elevator's wall intently after risking a swift press of her chosen floor's button. He didn't seem to notice her so maybe... this hadn't failed yet? But.. Hearing his voice rumble through the space, even as agitated as it sounded, Raff felt herself relax. It made no sense at all, the man was clearly upset and yet he didn't trigger a single shred of unease in her. Tilting her head just a little she glanced at the spot he kept looking at on his own arm, absently sinking her teeth into her bottom lip as she resisted the urge to ask if he was alright. He'd used the term 'clawed up' but she didn't smell his blood, that was scent she'd likely never be able to forget.. But someone had hurt him. Temper flickered and before she could help it Raff was sliding along the wall and carefully leaning in front of him to press the button for the floor they had just been on. It wouldn't be that hard to find which woman was wearing the dress she'd seen in that reflection earlier, how dare that low brow vixen scratch him--- " Raff?"

Visibly jolting at the sound of her name Raff froze just before her finger could touch the button; The excess of her sleeve hanging from the tip of her finger and waving gently as the woman's mind raced with what to do. He sounded so unsure himself, she could technically pretend not to be herself but.. It actually stung a little as she bit her lip a second time, her hooded head tilting towards him then away for a long moment... Then the will to keep up her pretense left her entirely as her shoulders dropped and the woman's body shifted to face him. Reaching up Raff pushed her hood back slowly, a distinctly sulking curve bowing her lips even as a vibrant blush tinted her cheeks and the tips of her ears. Her gaze didn't quite meet his for a moment, her attention flickering between his hurt arm and the elevator's buttons briefly, but finally the woman tilted her chin with a hint of defiance as she looked up at him from under her thick lashes hesitantly. She wasn't going to apologize, she absolutely wasn't going to... " .. you seemed... stressed, so I didn't want to..." Damn it... Her voice was apologetic even as her pride prickled at the self betrayal and with a swift breath she tried to salvage the situation. " I just wanted to make sure you were alright, I didn't mean to disturb your night but no one would tell me anything so I wanted to check on you."

Raff was fully aware that she looked like a punk, her hair wild from the friction of her hood, but she wasn't embarrassed for that even with Rain standing there looking down at her with his bewildered expression. No.. what bothered her was the fact that she'd done such a shoddy job on her first attempt at sleuthing on her own. She.. really needed to pay her spies better money. This was way harder than she'd thought it would be. Just as she opened her mouth to defend herself the doors dinged, a pair of young women waiting as the doors parted but before they could take a step into the elevator Raff hit the close-doors button firmly; The woman's expression kind but firm as she glossed over her actions with gentle shake of her head. " Wait for the next one, lover's spat." The pair seemed shocked, then bemused as they let the doors slide closed again and the elevator carried on its way... and Raff had to admit something truly vexing about her situation. She still had no trouble at all managing other people, even looking like this, so why was it so hard to treat Rain the same way..? For the third time the woman bit her bottom lip, her arms crossing under her bosom as she waited for whatever scolding the man had in store for her. She'd take it, he had every right to be annoyed at her behavior, but she wasn't sorry..

Rain watched the woman hesitate then finally push the hood back to reveal that mahogany hair and the features that had suddenly taken a spotlight appearance in his dreams last night. He watched her stammer out an explanation for being here and had to smile at her over it, knowing that he'd have to explain.

They were interrupted by the doors opening and he raised his eyebrows at her explanation for closing the doors on the two women.

Lover's spat?

Maybe he wasn't as far gone as he thought he was...

He had to smile as the elevator started moving again, "Cassarria's doing for the Hylarr... If someone wants to know about us, they're supposed to be vague. If identified by name, they're supposed to tell the person to find us in person. It keeps the Hylarr safe from the Church. Especially since my Clan in particular was targeted. It was only by a miracle that we're here at all," he explained to her calmly as he searched her face.

He was better at observing body language than most, mainly because the Hylarr had so much body language to read. She looked nervous for some reason. She didn't need to be.

He offered her a softer smile, "Thank you for being worried about me, Raff. I'm not used to such concern about my welfare but for a few close friends within the Clan. I appreciate it, despite it being unnecessary. You didn't take that much from me and a good meal with some rest set me right again," he hesitated to say more, not sure what she'd think about it.

Honestly, it did sound odd in his head. He'd dreamed about her and her scent. It had captivated him enough that he was considering more pancakes for his dinner...

He tried to be subtle about taking in her scent again but had to frown at the scent trying to cover hers up. He was guessing it was coming from the hoodie but wasn't entirely certain, "Did you borrow the hoodie?" he had to ask it for his own sanity because that scent didn't fit with hers. The tones of grapefruit and mulch were jarring and clashing with her more subtle and soothing scent. It made him want to wipe his nose in an effort to get rid of the offending scent. He wasn't sure how she was able to put up with it close to her skin.

And now he was thinking about her skin...

The doors opened up behind her on his floor and helped clear the air a bit. But it gave him a small inspiration that he hoped he wouldn't regret.

He gestured to the hallway behind her, "As it happens, I have something for you. I left it in my apartment tonight since I wasn't expecting you for another day or two," he offered, hoping she wouldn't turn him down.

Then again, he was also terrified that she'd say yes. Not terrified in that he was afraid of her. More that he was terrified about what she was starting to mean to him. They'd only known each other for a day.

Then again, it had happened among his people numerous times. Fated mates were rare with the Hylarr but not unheard of. Not that he was thinking about Raff that way, but more that sudden attraction wasn't that uncommon.

And now he was babbling in his head...

He exited the elevator and gestured for her to walk with him, oddly thankful that he didn't have a longer tail. If he had, the tip would be twitching with how nervous he was, afraid she'd say no... He had no problem leading the way to his apartment but he was...

Okay, to be honest with himself, he was hoping that she was feeling the same way he was but half afraid that his newly burgeoning obsession was feeling something else entirely.

The logic behind his explanation made sense; It helped a degree of her earlier frustration ease to know at least the run around she'd been given had served a greater purpose than to play with her as Willa seemed to so enjoy doing. Though, certainly, she wouldn't put it past the female to enjoy it either.. " You say unnecessary, but I've watched multiple women try to harass you tonight and frankly I think you are in more danger than you realize." The smallest p***k of.. not jealousy, per se, but disgruntlement graced her voice and Raff paused, clearly analyzing her own comment as if surprised she'd voiced it aloud. She didn't blame him, just the idiots that tried to touch him like they had no concept of social etiquette. Thankfully this question about the coat turned her mind elsewhere and Raff readily adjusted to the change in topic; The woman's deep blue gaze shifting downward to study the jacket in question before crinkling her nose with amusement. " It belongs to Frank, my groundskeeper. I do not own anything like it so I had to.. borrow... it." She'd be putting it through a expensive cleaning service too.. As much as she adored Frank and yes, used his scent for her own devices, it was a very potent smell..

It was reflexive that, as his larger frame stepped into the hallway, Raff's followed suit without much hesitation and it sincerely took a moment for the woman to realize the elevator doors were closing behind them in a soft little 'whoosh'. It was fine of course, she'd already given up on escaping the building once Rain noticed her, but the fluttering tone in the male's voice did keep her attention as he invited her into his home. He seemed... as unsteady as she herself was and that was oddly soothing. Casting a last side-long glance at the elevator's reflective doors Raff had to admit she already knew where her gut was telling her to go; The woman calmly reaching up to shirk the jacket from her shoulders and folding it neatly over her arm as she asked politely. " If I'm not intruding I'd love to chat for a while. I might also need to use your shower if you don't mind; I'm not sure I can handle smelling like Frank for much longer." Poor Frank.. First plan of business when she got home was putting a 'Thank you' basket together for him with some body-care products.

I have a post ready for his apartment where he leads her inside. I'll put it up after your next post.

Rain couldn't resist a small sigh of relief when she admitted that the hoodie wasn't hers and took it off. He led the way down the hallway and taking a couple of turns, "I certainly agree with you on the idiots trying to manhandle me tonight. I was actually trying to do my job, which doesn't have much to do with the Club. Some of my Clan started working there tonight and I was making sure that they were alright. Unfortunately, some of the daughters of New Houston's upper class seem to think that they can do as they please," he commented as they moved at a leisurely pace.

"As for the shower, I think I can oblige. I should also have something you can wear. My sister left a few things behind after she stayed over last week," he added, hoping she wouldn't mind something borrowed.

She and his sister were about the same size and Ice had taken her wardrobe on as a cause, as well as taking on Ravari as a best friend. The demon seemed to really love designing for the Hylarr since they'd arrived here.

The got close and he gestured ahead of them, "I'm down on the right. Number 12," he pointed out his apartment ahead of them and pulled out his key from one of the pouches on his belt.

" I wish I could tell you they were the exception to the Elite's behavior, but... " A small shake of her head finished the thought with genuine remorse. Everyone in the upper circles of society, aside from the rare sincere soul, had a horrible sense of entitlement. The adults just hid it far better than their wayward offspring. Raff wasn't innocent of that mentality herself, her father would never have tolerated a 'meek' daughter after all, but her ruthlessness and manipulations had always been directed at the family Business and their associates. Thankfully it made dealing with the lot of them rather simple, she knew exactly how they ticked. " It is a good start to kick them out, public shame is a potent weapon against their families.. but if you want results give me their names and I'll handle it." Raff wasn't cruel, she wouldn't ruin their families over hormonal teens, but she could make damn sure their parents reigned them in discreetly.

Following Rain through the hallway Raff nodded at his offer for spare clothing, reassuring him it was fine as she felt the cargo pants snag on the heel of her sneaker uncomfortably. It didn't show, even dressed like this the woman wouldn't expose her discomfort that easily, but regardless of how smoothly she moved down the hallway in Rain's wake Raff couldn't deny a sense of relief in getting out of these silly clothes. She'd borrowed the pants from her housekeeper, with permission of course, and the tank/shoes were something she wore for her parkour sessions. Not her best outfit, certainly, but... it had served its purpose well enough despite her mission's failure. Reaching up to the chain at her neck the woman allowed herself to smile a little as she weighed how the night had gone so far for both of them, self amusement evident as she mused lightly to Rain while he readied his keys. " It hasn't been a issue yet but... do you need to formally invite me in or is that a myth?"
