Round 1 damage post
Therianth 5/10
Saves=0

Therianth was completely focused on the task at hand. This was a serious game and she couldn’t waiver in her vigilance. Shahera kept an eye on everyone from the people asking for firestone, to her wingmates and leaders. She didn’t miss the signal to change formation but she was a little slow to do so. Not from hesitance to follow D’mar’s lead but because part of her was questioning the call. She couldn’t help it. It seemed wrong and she wasn’t conditioned to simply obey. But move she did. Therianth had enough time to warn Hessianth with a quick On your left! before the Thread hit him. Unfortunately the females did not account for the wind his movement out of the way would create and it pulled the Thread into Therianth. Shahera felt the pain through her bond and, gritting her teeth, quickly directed Therinath to between. Therianth came out the otherside panting and still in pain but no longer under assault of Thread.

Round 1 roll 3 - Ow-ow-ow grid
Therianth 5/10
Saves=0

Reaching for more firestone, Shahera realized with a start that the bag was empty. A quick look told her there was a rip in it, edges having that awful Thread eaten look to them. We have to go get more Firestone. Please let Strigonth know. It wouldn’t be good to disappear without letting the wingsecond know. That could put everyone at risk. Strigonth, the Thread hit we took ate through the firestone bag. We have to go back for another.

A'te and the Green Dokkaeth
Round 1 - Day 1 - Roll 1: General Grid
Green Dokkaeth: 10/10 hp
Held saves: 0

There was a set of nerves buried deep within A’te gut as the blue eyes glanced over the rest of the other riders as they took their positions in the sky. Dokkie swooped down as if knowing his uneasiness as she tried to shake them free with a few tricks in the air before the thread arrived. It earned them a few looks from the others, an even sterner look from the wing second but A’te appreciated the gesture. Running his fingers along her neck he hummed to himself a little tune to smooth over the rest of tanglement of emotions.

Ready for this? Hopefully it will have some bearing of fun. He checked over the straps again, making sure nothing wrong could go wrong, if anything he was more worried about Dokkie’s safety then his own.

It will be lots of fun, mostly.” He could feel her nerves too but she did her to keep them both at ease.

Soon a commotion broke out, it was starting, at least they only had to hold up for the first half as they fell back into their place.

Dragons flew as flames started to erupt in the sky as the blue eyes scanned the skies for any sign of thread.

Look, Dokkaeth there! A silvery thread floated down as they focused in to move in between, popping out to where they had tried to aim. Shaft, A’te cursed under his breath as they over shot it missing the silvery substances entirely.

Let’s try that again. A’te replied as Dokkaeth sent a noise somewhat like a giggle between them, it was more like easing out the nerves from her body and the hint feeling of causing more trouble for those below to handle the thread mess they had miss.

Yes! She swooped down before leveling out as they both scanned the area for more threat finally spotting some to their far left.

Alright, this time! They focused moving in between before a gust of a wind sending them off course completely.

Son of a biscuit. A’te muttered as Dokkie giggled again.

So far they had only managed to let the thread fly pass them in some sort of epic failure maneuvers which A’te was sure they would get yelled at for later. For now they were in the clear, nothing was around the green as she did a bit of a roll in the sky to keep their anticipation from rising.

Round 1 - Day 2 - Roll 1: General Grid
Brown Hessianth: 14/14 hp - Saved by Therianth!
Held saves: 0

Quote:
It's a classic textbook maneuver. An ugly strand of Thread is falling down, drifting, blowing, squirming on the wind. If it stays course it will put it right in your airspace. Your dragon shifts position, veers, and manages to catch the tangle with a belch of flame. Nothing to this Thread thing, nope!

Hessianth hesitated to move immediately in response to D'mar and Strigonth's call.Certainly he and L'nik weren't experienced in threadfall, and he knew along with his rider than it wasn't D'mar's call but Liat's, but it took some urging from L'nik to move him all the same. He hadn't quite made it into his new position when Therianth had called out to him. The brown twisted out of the way and into safety immediately.

But when he looked over to check on the green, white briefly flickered into his red eyes, watching her get blown into threadfall and bugling out his concern. He reached out with his mind, offering waves of concern and a feeling like a head butted up against the side of hers for comfort. But only for a moment, this was not the time to be distracted, and he and L'nik needed to focus.

While Hessianth offered his support to Therianth, L'nik had turned his attention towards finding them a proper clump of thread to flame. Target spotted, the brown flamed it easily and perhaps with more fervor than he should have. He was mad!

Being on the back of an actual flaming dragon doing what it had been born to do was very different than the drills had ever made it seem it would be. L'nik found it was exhilarating, if not stressful, and while he and Hessianth took more careful stock of their path for the time being, the young man scanned the skies, just to be safe.

For now, Hessianth's clutchmates were his wing, and he'd keep an eye out for them too.

Round 1 - Day 2 - Roll 1: General Grid
Blue Strigonth: 11/12 hp
Held saves: 0

4. No Thread is near you, and there's nothing really to be done. The winds are calm and you're in good spirits. You've got this. A moment to think, a moment to breathe. Look at you, fighting Thread like a real rider!

D’mar grimaced across Strigonth’s back as the blue relayed which had been injured. Micheth, before, and then with the call, Vedmath and Therianth. The green apprently had managed to warn off Hessianth in time, and been badly scored in turn. Better that it was only those few than all of them, but the knowledge that the wrong choice had been made and relayed through him rankled somewhat. And Therianth and Shahera’s stone bag had been threaded too. The loss of the precious stone was something to be keenly aware of, but there was nothing they could do now. Return quickly, then, but be safe. The blue had sensed her pain, of course, but she was a strong dragon. She would be fine. Or so he hoped.

Thankfully the winds seemed calmer ahead, mostly empty of thread. The blue was able to coast in unbothered silence for several moments, and both of the pair were glad of the chance to refocus and...relax was the wrong word for it, really. The blue had ample strength yet, but neither of them wanted to return to the Weyr limping and tired at the end of their hours. Wasting such a chance was folly, even if both dragon and rider stayed alert for any action in the skies, or moments of strength or weakness from their wingmates.

Round 1 - Day 2 - Roll 1: General Grid

------

The Fall had thus far been uneventful for C'sar and Illiandinth. Except, of course, for the spectacle of D'mar and Strigonth in their current leadership roles. Illiandinth watched his lovely blue brother with violet eyes, a rumble of approval sounding in his chest. You fly beautifully, Striggy-Wiggy, Illiandinth purred, moving through the air with the full grace of a fencer. C'sar's control was as absolute as ever, the feel of wind against both of their faces exhilarating. When Illi belched flame this time it scorched the thread from the sky before them.

Day 2 / Round 1 / Roll 1: Gung-Ho Grid
Brown Aleyath: 13/14 HP
Held saves: 0

The shock of accidentally singeing himself faded quickly amidst all of the excitement, and Aleyath was soon back to seeking a few more thrills than he should have been. It was something O'len was going to have to train out of him, at least during Threadfall, but for this first blooding it was not something he had known would be an issue.

The brown's attention was caught by a tantalizing bit of Thread just out of reach, and before he had assessed who was on top of it, Aleyath dove. Once again, his flame was quite lovely as it plumed straight for Hessianth, but beauty wasn't going to save his brother's hide.

    Hessianth! Sorry!

Aleyath drew back in alarm, his eyes as yellow as Loreleth's.

Unfortunately, it was at the same time your neighboringweyrling was diving for it, too! You cry out warning, but wind up flaming them instead! Ouch! Be on the lookout for opportunities, Illi, C'sar said, stroking his dragon's neck in approval. They were here to ensure that their smaller wingmates did not suffer the brunt of Threadfall. Strong and competent, Illiandinth had staying power that would last the Fall - but overconfidence could doom them. And so C'sar kept a watchful eye, searching for any sign of Thread, for a change in the wind.

The pair were beginning to feel confident, White and rider twisting and turning, shooting out flame as they could to save wingmates, and knock Thread from the air alike. It was in their twisting and turning that Isilje spotted something, eyes going wide, Brancath! Warn those two!. The small female chirped her response, before reaching out to one of her ugh brothers, Hessianth! Watch out on your flank! Use caution! True, she might not like boys, but she wanted her siblings well.

One sibling well, and it seemed that in that moment, someone else was due for danger. With a bugle of alarm, Brancath zipped up. Isilje was forced to cling tightly to her dragon's neck as the tiny creature reached out yet again, seeing danger incoming. She would NOT let another be harmed, not if she could avoid it. Vedmath! Roll to your left! You and yours are in danger!. Once she was satisfied that the other was sufficiently warned, she settled down, back in to formation. Good.

3. Your dragon spots a silver strand of Thread. You visualize the space you need to go to flame it, but don't take into account the wind, or your dragon's flight speed. Instead, you appear Between but have completely overshot your airspace and are now out in the open, exposed, and with no Thread anywhere near you. Shaffit all! Don't you look the fool. Whoops.

-----

Perhaps C'sar's focus had been a little too much on what the others were about, for this time when they went between they overshot their mark. That rankled slightly; if there was ever something the pair hated, it was being made to look the fool. However, there was no denying that they had not yet felt the bite of Thread. Nor had they endangered their wingmates. All in all, it was still a successful fight.
