Day 031 - Lily
It elongated its body and crept through the flowers, masking its movement when the wind rustled the petals and leaves. The growth was thick and it blended in well with the harsh shadows. It had been biding its time for the right opportunity. It stood still, barely breathing as a hand a third of the size of the creature reached forward, gently pulling a flower stem. The main body of that hand had been checking the overall health of the plant for the purpose of harvesting. The flowers, or lilies as the creature came to know them, were of various shades of yellows, oranges, purples, and whites. Almost all of the lilies had secondary colors. The flowers usually faded into a secondary color towards the end of each petal or stripes with dots came out of the center. They had a pleasant beauty that the creature appreciated. But it couldn’t lose focus because the proper time was near. A strong wind caused the flowers to violently wave. The hand from earlier quickly reached back to hold something in place, permitting the creature to reach the edge of the flowers. Any moment now it would strike. As the wind died down a hand grasped another stem.
“CAW!” A large crow shrieked, jumping and flapping from his hiding place.
“AAHHHHH!” Elza fell backwards from a kneeling position she used while gardening. “CONNER!” She screamed as she rolled over to pick herself up. She looked over to the crow with a stern look.
The mischievious bird was cackling as he was rolling and flapping with delight. He then lay on his back and looked to Elza. “Caw.”

Day 034 – Stitch ( Completed Feb 26th)
“Knit… 3, pearl… 3, knit 3, pearl 3, 3, 3, 3, & 3. Okay, this row shouldn’t be too difficult.” A red headed woman muttered to herself, as she used a finger to carefully read an instruction booklet. She wore a large knitted sweater. The material matched the yarn project resting next to her. Sitting on the couch, she pulled a crocheted blanket over her lap to fight off the remaining chill that the roaring fire had yet to defeat. One of the two crows on the other end of the couch squawked at her as she had pulled the blanket from under them. Conner was usually grouchy when abruptly woken. “Sorry, sorry. Go back to sleep.” Elza apologized while gathering the yarn project and knitting needles. She looked back to the booklet. “Start with knit, end with knit. Total of… 153 stitches.” Elza began to knit and pearl the row while carefully counting each stitch. Any mistakes meant backtracking, which were annoying when knitting.
