His bemused expression spoke volumes. Flashing a strained smile, one of her paws lifted to nervously rub up and down her leg. She had gotten far too caught up in her own fast-paced thoughts and had basically word vomited on the poor man the second he was in ear shot.

Okay personal note priority number one: After all this mess keep working on not rambling off at strangers.

At the very least he seemed to be taking the affair rather well.
For that she was eternally grateful. Honestly this whole meeting could have been a lot more awkward had it been the wrong person!

A slight disappointment at his low-key response. Honestly did anyone here know more than just 'Some idiots got poisoned, we're trying to fix it? Go garden some more.' She wasn't expecting some big dramatic show but some more details would be nice!

She let out a soft sigh before responding back to him, "Fair enough. Seems half the pride knows that story already. However has anyone been told yet what exact plant poisoned these people so we can hopefully avoid any further accidental cases? Or are they just expecting us to dig up half the damn mountain and wish for the best?"

Her tense expression softened to a warm smile as she gave a slight nod to him out of respect. "Hello to you too, Tethys, again."
Snorting she rolled her eyes playfully. "Honestly we have got to stop meeting like this."

Her eyebrow raised at his sudden redirection of his attention. Craning her head around she eyed the pair. Huh, they were certainly a strange looking bunch. Popping her lips she turned back to Tethys. "Friends of yours I take it?"

-------------------------------------------------------------

Huh, so the Stormborn were here as well? Interesting. He recognized a few faces roaming around from the previous scavenger hunt and the very very heavy partying he had joined in on perhaps a few too many times they were there. Part of him was glad to see friendly faces in this strange territory, yet part of him was left wondering why the hell they were here in the first place. We're they just going from pride-to-pride in the area? Or had one of theirs been infected as well?

Ah, but that seemed like a question for another time.

They all had a time sensitive task to complete. He made a note that once things had settled down to go seek out one of the vikings and see how they had been doing since leaving the Bahari. Even if it hadn't been that long since they left it was always good to keep on friendly terms, right?

If he was lucky they might have some more of that fermented fruit to share to calm his nerves down.

For now Kaluwa was simply lumbering his large body around casually grabbing anything that remotely looked green and leafy. Most of his attention was focused on what was going on around the Hlares. He knew full well that they could handle themselves (Especially Zephyr) but there was always a chance for things to go sour.

He hoped to the gods that things went quickly and smoothly. The faster they cured the people who decided on the brilliant move to test the world with their mouths the sooner they could go home.

Runa gave a little snort at the mention of their brother. She loved her whole family dearly but they all had their quirks. She could see him poking around in Valka's plants to see if anything was worth 'borrowing' with the intent to never return it. They certainly were a wily bunch, as their endevours as cubs had proved.

"Good. From the sound of it they'll need as much as they can get." Nudging her rather large find against her sister's, she set off to nose about to hopefully find more.

"I suppose someone had to eat mint to figure out it was 'good'," she said as she scraped a paw in the dirt, looking for more roots of the plant. "Still, I don't think I'll be making any personal discoveries where plants are concerned."

"Something like that..." Tethys murmured vaguely as he continued to eye up the striking green lioness and her more nuanced companion. He'd grown more and more familiar with them as time had gone on, but that still didn't mean he was any more accustomed to them showing up in such a direct fashion. His suspicions were made significantly worse by the fact that they looked so innocent and if there was one thing that that lioness wasn't, it was innocent.

"I'd imagine the more abundant one," Tethys raised an eyebrow at Imani's question. Clearly he wasn't an avid gardener and was more inclined to state the obvious when it came to this sort of thing. Give him a band to train or a target to hunt and he was much more in his element, his paws were most definitely not green. "Probably the brightest or most vivid of the bunch, that generally seems to be how these things go," he pursed his lips thoughtfully and flicked his gaze back towards the pair who had caught his interest.

"Or quite simply... Exactly what those two have," he remarked coolly.

"Given that one of them is well versed in poisons, they would know exactly what they're looking for."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, the pair Collective lions had concluded that they had most definitely been spotted, and while Tethys seemed to be considering how best to handle their presence, they turned their own attentions towards those who were part of his band. By now, even though they might not have been aware of it, some of the band were at least known to the Collective for one reason or another.
...For example, Xochi was known as one of his first loyalists, an individual with an abundance of enthusiasm and nowhere to put it just yet. While the black lion was the one that their very own Justicar had coached. He seemed like the unassuming sort, and based on the manner in which he was trailing after the rather exotic looking lioness, he wasn't really worth much. Quite frankly, Suu'marle had to wonder what it was Destati had seen in the lion when he had agreed to train him.
"Do you think," she began after a few moments of consideration, the lilt of her accent coming through. "That he has something that we don't know about?" she asked.
"It's a possibility," Havase replied as he regarded Zili. His curiosity was much more muted, but it was there all the same. "But whatever it is is unlikely to shine through until he becomes a proper lion rather than a lost cub," he pursed his lips. "Perhaps Destati merely saw that underneath and took a more positive outlook."
"I suspect, he might simply have been humouring his son..."
"That might be an accurate assumption as well," the male agreed. "Perhaps you should ask him when we return to camp, hm?"
Suu'marle afforded Havase a dark stare, she knew better than to question the Justicar's intentions unless it was going to threaten them all.
"I give him five minutes before he comes over, by the way," Havase added with a nod to Tethys. "Prepare yourself for the bluster." He teased.
Padding back towards the center of the pride SMM emptied out her satchel before pausing to look around at the gathered creatures, it seemed to her that everyone, his uncle and his best friends familiar were out searching for these herbs, she wondered if she was really needed any further. Shrugging her shoulders the chocolate lionessonce again got to her paws and called for her vulture.
Gyps landed heavily on the lionesses back and huffed. "Can we be done with this now? I'm going to be dreaming about patches of green for a week." She sniffs.
SMM chuckles and gives a nod. "Lets go and just chill for a while and watch. I like watching the hustle and bustle."
This man was the king of giving answers that only posed more questions, wasn't he? Sigh. Once again it seems she had reached a quick dead-end when it came down to answers from the Captain. The corners of her lips tugged into a hint of an amused grin, cracking her rather neutral bored facade. There was more to the story with all three that much was clear. If she was being completely honestly she'd admit that she was highly tempted to let him go over and start his inquiry just to watch the upcoming show.
But alas she lacked any snacks to munch on why she eavesdropped. You simply couldn't have a good spy-fest without proper snackage! It was one of the rules, of course!
"'Green and vivid aren't the words I've use to describe anything -besides the people - growing on this mountain that I've seen so far, however, duly noted for when I head back to the 'Life-or-Death' scavenger hunt."
With a quick pop of her lips she turned her attention back once more towards the dio. Her eyes locking on and thoroughly studying the plants the lioness was picking up seemingly at random. "Well versed in poisons you don't say?" Honestly someone of their skill set would be well appreciated here in this pride. From what she had gathered like they were small, but mighty, in terms of numbers. However it did leave a huge gap in available man-power that was properly trained to handle cases like this.
"Well then! It's settled~ Since they are such good....friends of yours it would be quiet rude to keep them waiting, wouldn't it?" Raising a paw she flashed a short lived grin as she waved him off. "Go on then. I've kept enough of your time. Just promise me if you find more information that you will tell me, cha?"
"There's a little scrap there, that you left behind," Zili pointed out with a paw, lifting the pieces she had found just a moment before, holding them carefully between his teeth.
Xochipepe pounced on the strand and, with a small snort, turned to look about them. At least she wasn't giving Zili as hard a time as the Bahari twins. Perhaps the fact that they were trying to save lives had sobered her a little (even if they were doing it in the most boring way possible).
She spat out her finds and turned to her shadow with a question, "what do you think? We try and find atleast a few more then head back?"
"Sure."
And she was off again, winding through the terrain with her head lowered as if she were tracking hares. Zili, with a soft sigh, moved after her, taking his time to try and pick out the herbs from the grass and weeds growing in short tufts all around them. Destati had taught him as well as he could in the short time they had been together and it had to be said that he had thrived (if only briefly and towards the end) under his guidance. Now, on his own again - or as on his 'own' as he could be, his confidence seemed to have slipped back to previous levels. Self-esteem was a hard thing to build up and a hard thing to keep hold of and that was only made more difficult by the fact that the lioness he had his eye on seemed not to notice at all.
"Wonderful," Tethys's response was almost dismissive as he swept forward and made his way towards the duo of lions. They had already returned to gathering their own materials, having previously been distracted by two of his Reavers. However, Tethys had long since adjusted to who and what they were, and he just had to make sure they his suspicions were right - they weren't likely to be here to meddle, there had been no signs of the scourge... But just in case.
"Suu'marle, Havase," he addressed them, affording narrowed eyes as he drew nearer and inspected the green lioness's vastly growing supply of materials. "Are you here to be useful, or are you here to exploit an opportunity?" he enquired bluntly.
"Why not both?" Havase replied without missing a beat, a flicker of impishness creeping across his features. Ever since the Captain's search had stagnated, he had been a little more irritable. The male could sympathise, he wasn't the only one who wanted to know where the scourge had gone but as it stood, not even Havase had the answer to that fabled question. However, rather than wallow in boredom, the Collective had always had a knack for entertaining themselves.
...If anything, it was part of their job, particularly in quieter times. Given that they had no leads, and it would be quite some time before Adar was able to provide them with anymore, it was imperative they work towards other goals in the mean time.
"It is a hint of both," Suu'marle replied, confirming Havase's retort. She wasn't quite so good humoured, but she had always been slightly more stiff when in a bad mood. Her supply of well... everything had been destroyed by their beloved Spectre. He had left her with only the most toxic substances and she was still smarting from the fact that she had to use it on him. It should really have come at no surprise that she was therefore on the hunt to rebuild her stock levels and begin the process of brewing everything.
She had limited time, limited resources, and the constant camp changes ensured she didn't have the best tools at paw. To say she was fighting a losing battle in the eyes of some was an understatement.
"We will help, we would not be afforded permission to be here if we didn't," she pointed out and shook her head. "But this is mostly for us to resupply what was lost when Spectre was rediscovered," she finished.
Tethys seemed to be torn between believing them, and remaining just a touch suspicious. After all, they generally only showed up near the scourge, but this was also a plausible reason to be present. He had seen Spectre for himself after all...
If there was one individual that few would expect to see enter these lands, it would have been the Justicar himself. However, given his close proximity and the fact that he had been heading in this particular direction, it had seemed pertinent for him to inspect the damage. On this occasion he was perhaps one of the few individuals who didn't blame the Dov for their predicament. Based on the briefings he had received from his companion, they were accustomed to the mountain interior and thus, had little expertise in anything that lay outside it.
Mistakes had been made, and on this occasion they might even prove to be fatal, but now was neither the time or the place to chastise them for this. It would prove to be a valuable lesson for all of those involved. Now they had turned their face to the sun they would be more cautious, and rather than look towards the ill (and perhaps the dead) with shame, they would be honoured for their sacrifice.
Pursing his lips, the towering male took note of his son who had taken it upon himself to interrogate two of his Collective. They seemed to be holding their own, and quite frankly, his son needed something to do, as for the rest of them...
Well they seemed to have a rough idea of what they were looking for.
"This is not as bad as the avians claimed," the black lion remarked as he strode after the Justicar, coming to a halt just by his shoulder as he regarded those nearby. For the most part they all seemed healthy, the majority of the ill seemingly hidden from view. That, or the sick had varying degrees of symptoms and some were more healthy than others for the time being. "And your son has found some prey," he added as he flicked his gaze towards the otherwise unimpressed green lioness.
"He's bored," Destati replied smoothly and gave a curt nod of his head. "He lacks the ability to be constructive during quieter times."
"Indeed," Adar replied and pursed his lips. "I will seek to gain access to some of their darker areas," he murmured and shook his head. "They are not hostile, but I would prefer to ensure that the less explored warrens are clear," he added, and without another word, the lion slipped passed the majority of the herb hunters towards the areas that the Dov might not have had the opportunity to investigate since reaching the surface.
Destati on the other hand, remained perfectly visible...
Hm, well someone had apparently pissed on his piece of meat this morning. With a loose shrug of her shoulders she strolled in the other direction as him, off once more to try (and fail miserably) at being a master gardener.
As much as she was tempted to stay and spy on the conversation going on between the three lions she had a gut feeling that if she had a very severe line would have been crossed. Generally if one was smart and preferred to keep their backside in one piece it was a good idea not to step out of place around one very bored, and, therefore, one very grumpy viking.
So, hi-ho hi-ho it's back to gardening she goes~
----------------------------------------------
Kaluwa at this point had grown rather bored of this whole affair. He had collected a good chunk of flora around from the area - more than he was even expecting honestly! It had been quite the amusing sight to see the male return half covered in mud with his mouth bulging from varies roots and plants crammed inside. Though he might have looked ridiculous, at the very least it brightened up the mood for a short while.
Despite it going to a good cause he couldn't help but feel that between the gathering event back home and this he had enough of plants, herbs, dirt, and anything to do with gardening in general to last a lifetime!
It was definitely time for a break, it was bad enough he was going to have nightmares about plants for weeks after this but he didn't need a permanent fear of gardening as well.
But alas, a break was simply not in the cards for Kaluwa today.
A familiar shade of purple and bubble-gum pink flashed in the corner of his eye why in the middle of settling himself down. Imminently he was snapped back up to full attention. It couldn't be...could it? It had been so long since he'd last seen his sisters that he figured they had migrated somewhere else by now, or perhaps on a more morbid but realistic note, had gotten themselves killed somehow.
But yet he couldn't deny the uncanny resemblance. For a good while he just stared at the pink tail darting back-and-forth from behind a boulder, too stunned and in shock to fully believe his own eyes!
Running a paw through his messy mane he attempted at least to make himself look presentable. There was only one way to find out the answer, right? Right. Sucking in a breath to calm his growing nerves Kaluwa set off to go confront the owner of the mysteries tail.
What brought Posedia here in the first place honestly was rather unconventional. She wasn't following the orders of any leader, nor had she been summoned like the migratory of others. However the large influx of travelers heading up the foggy mountain had inadvertently caught the attention of her clan's traveling caravan that was parked a stone's throw away for the moment. Most in the group choose not to take their newfound interests beyond gossiping very, very exaggerated stories to try and fill in the blanks on why there were suddenly so many strangers passing by their doorstep.
Eventually the stories and rumors had reached her own ears. None of them particularly caught her attention or lit this massive fire under her arse to rush up there to sate her curiosity. What was the real driving force for her to finally slam down the brew she had been working on, pick up her things, before setting off to follow the trail up was very simple: She was just so sick of intensively hearing on and on about the damned place! She just wanted to get a little peace and quiet so that she could finish her work load. At this point she would have eaten rocks if it meant shutting up the gossiping hens!
Her plan had been short, sweet, and simple. Just go up there, ask a local what the big fuss was about, thank them kindly, then ducking out of any festivities going on to head back down home to enjoy her well-deserved silence.
Or at least that had been the plan.
She gave a nod of her head, she hoped whatever they were able to collect proved helpful. She chuckled at the thought of whoever first decided mint was a thing to eat. "I would have loved to have been there for that discovery, though I have to agree. I'd rather not be the test bunny for anything." Though hadn't it been okay in small doses? Her thoughts drifted back to the pride and their current dilemma.
"I think I saw some more over there." She said motioning towards a spot not too far away.
Akiko wasn't sure how to answer him. She was doing alright she supposed. "We've known them for such a long time." She said softly, she didn't want to think that it could have been anyone it had happened to. She just wished that there had been something someone could have done for Rahisi sooner. "It's just a sad situation all around."
Imrahil nodded, he had to agree. The whole thing was sad though he was growing closer to Thalea because of it. Why was it that grief made you appreciate life a little bit more. "You're not going to object?" He asked her before gazing towards the young lioness he was starting to grow fondly attached to.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 17, 2017 9:02 am
"Precisely." Yawo responded, eying the back of her orange companion that strode off - though she wasn't entirely surprised that he reveled in moments any longer than he had to, which included formal greetings.
Ah, yes. She thought to herself with a mild amusement, it was most definitely an extraordinarily hard time for the pride, but she couldn't stop herself from the small reactions to the comments made about them. When she truly thought about it every lion or lioness likely had to learn the way these ones did, but she had figured most cultures had grown beyond this point of basic trial and error. "From what I've gathered thus far this pride was confined to it's mountainous home, for the most part (save a few hunters) they did not travel beyond those walls." That itself had enlightened the pale lioness, but she wasn't done explaining. "So this particular lioness had taken it upon herself, when they made the choice to move from within those walls, to begin testing some of the plant life surrounding the mountain." Yawo thought on her words a moment before continuing with her own opinion.
"I personally believe she found a plant that harbors different levels of poison. So since she had found the plant and used it so often, with no repercussions that she was aware of, she had no fear in chewing a raw piece. It just seems to be that she found a much higher dosage of poison. That's my opinion on the matter though." Her blue eyes had returned to Zephyr, she found they had been lingering on Jua once more. "My concerns lie with those who are still able to be saved. That male that strode by you, his name is Jua and he is the near deceaseds son, he mentioned that she had shared some of this plant with him - which leads me to believe that he's been ingesting other forms of it as well."
Epine de Rose
The question had been well avoided, heck he even ignored her remark about the males name - Jua was well aware and had the day been different he'd had likely assaulted her with questions about why she had avoided his question. Today was not a different day though and that came to light when she began to talk nonsense.
"Thalea." Jua said the name and paused. "I'm afraid too." He admitted and blinked a few times to dissipate of a build up of tears that threatened to dampen his cheeks. "But, we won't forget her, she is such a light in our lives - plus Father may be unable to stop himself from discussing her for a while." He tried for a laugh that came out dry and lifeless. When his attempt at finding some form of humor in the situation had failed he moved closer to his sister and lifted a paw up, bringing the entirety of his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close. "As a family we can do this - I'm glad that you have Imrahil as well.. I see the way you light up a little, even in these dark times, when you look his way. Whether you know it or not, yet." He was able to form a smile for his sister at that point.
"Let him be your rock, lean on him, your family will always be here as well." He was trying at least.
The gentle green giant had been muttering to himself at the news he'd received in regards to one of the councils mates. The guards had all been forewarned (as much as they could be) of the arrival of faces they wouldn't recognize - these faces were to be welcomed warmly. Other members might be in trouble, they were the words that stuck out primarily and so the help was understood. Mti himself was an outlander that had joined perhaps a couple moons ago? He was fairly confident within his role now, but they also hadn't encountered any problems up until this point that required this volume of outlanders.
Many lions were already engaged in conversations while they peered about for plants that may aid them in finding a cure for those who could still be helped. A lioness stuck out, at least to him, she wasn't peering at the ground nor had she found a conversation to join - she was simply there and actually appeared to be looking for someone?
"Excuse me?" He said, it was in a welcoming tone that appeared a little to soft for his size.
SMM wandered past the searching hoards of beasts and with a yawn settled herself on a particularily green patch. Escalating the green shrubbery the massive lioness collected what she thought was usable. Finding her satchel once again full she turned to deposit her stash and perhaps take a little break before continuing on. The day was young, there was much searching still to be done, taking a short break wouldn't do her any harm. With this in mind the chocolate lioness made a beeline for a shaded spot and settled herself in for a little nap.
Gyps moved her wings noisily as she settled herself on the lionesses back. She would be look out while the lioness took a nap. She sighed, lions slept too much in her opinion but it was her job to keep guard during just such situations. The pale vulture gave a sigh and allowed her keen eyes to roam over the bustling creatures. No threats so far but that could always change.
As soon as he saw the striking pink markings he knew it was one of his sisters, that was for certain. As with all identical twins the age old question had now presented it's self: Exactly which one of his siblings was he dealing with here?
That was the real challenge right now.
Though it had been years since he had last seen either one of them there were bound to be key personality points that haven't changed, right? And this twin in front of him seemed strikingly quiet, focused, and relatively subdued compared to more eccentric folk in their family line. All traits that suited one of the twins more than the other.
There was always the factor of natural growth and change that comes with aging that he had to account for however...
Bah, screw it! Whoever was in front of him was going to correct him if he got it wrong either way.
"Nanabe?" He called out, his body leaning forward so he could peer at just what she was doing exactly.
"So sorry but it appears you've reached the wrong sister. If you have any personal questions or prior beefs to settle please re-direct them to the twin with the pink eyes instead, or I suppose the large Captain with the strange markings on his face and one ear respectively." Clicking her tongue she paused her efforts to try to dig up the root growing under the boulder. Her eyebrow raising at the obvious feeling of one overly-curious male looming over her shoulder. Nosy much?
"I thought Tethys sent out that message already?" Perhaps someone missed that bit of the memo? Or was this one just particularly dense? Either way, didn't really matter to her, she would make sure to rely the message loud and clear this time. "Excuse me, would you kind stepping back just a wee bit please?" She asked as her head finally started to turn to lazily peer up at the stranger. What she was expecting was to see another Stormborn looming over her shoulder instead she got a sight that damn near made her eyes pop out of her head!
"KALUWA!?" The stocky lioness exclaimed.
Annnnd there was the loudness. Good to see that not that much had changed with this one at the very least. "Yoyo, the one and only." He replied without missing a beat. A friendly smile greeting her underneath his mop of hair.
"It's good to see you agai-OOF!" Kaluwa had to take a step back to recover from the weight that had been shot into his chest from her tackling him into a hug. Draping a paw across her back he returned her hearty bear-hug in earnest. "Geez, Imani. You act like I died or somethin'."
"I thought you did, you a**!" She replied hastily, her face burying deep within his mane. Clenching onto him for dear life she couldn't help the weak sobs from escaping. Oh gods above so many emotions, so many questions, and so little time! But he was alive! Her brother was actually alive!
"Whoa. Hey hey hey." He murmured softly. Pulling back his paw rose from her lower back to the top of her head, petting ever so gently to try and soothe her tidal wave of emotions. "It's okay. Shh, it's okay. I'm here now, you're here now." He finally took notice that her other look-alike wasn't at her side as per the norm that he remembered. But with her previous remarks at the very least it seemed that 1. Nanabe was still alive. 2. The twins still were in contact with each other, albeit distant. And what was that about the weird bloke she described? That would definitely be something he'd question later. And...you seem to know where Nanabe is. So everything is alright, I swear." He tacked on softly. Tightening his hold he pulled her deeper into the massive love fest that the two siblings were sharing at the moment.
That actually brought up a damn good question she had burning inside her. Sniffling softly she lifted her head up finally to stare at him dead in the eye. "Where the hell have you been in the first place?!" She inquired.
Letting out a short hiss he grimaced at the harsh question. "Ah....yes about that. It's a -" Pausing he tried to find his words on how to explain it in the best way possible. "Long, loong story to say the least."
Snorting she fully pulled herself away from him. Lifting a paw she waved his worries off. "I have the time. Start talking, Kaluwa." Imani shot back as she plunked herself back down onto her rear-end. Geared up and ready to listen in for the long haul, Kaluwa better have a damn good tale for all this build up he backed behind it.
With a sigh Kaluwa scratched the bottom of his chin, thinking back through the years to the fateful series of events that had lead to him getting separated from his siblings. "Well...."
Quote:
Imani and Kaluwa are going to be temporarily out why they talk things out. They'll be back later. xp
-------------------------------------------------
Poseida had barely made it to the main township and already she had been pretty damn overwhelmed in more ways than one! The first and foremost thing that took her by surprised being the amount of people here. She had expected an event, perhaps a yearly festival that her caravan didn't realize they were camping near but this...this was outstanding! It seemed like there was someone or something occupying every nook and cranny that was on the mountain's base.
Frankly, she was starting to wonder if this pride had found a secret way of pulling people out of the ground like daisies. Their scouts had previously reported that this was a quite a sleepy, small, and isolated pride. Yet in a span of just a few days they had garnered enough strangers to double their numbers.
She had to give them props that it was rather impressive.
But with that many people being in one small area brought up another problem: The flood of different smells mingling together, from sweet spices, the underline tone of earth from all the people currently digging, to some lions who desperately needed to go find some way to bathe soon. All of it mixed together for one major blast onto the senses that she was vastly unprepared for.
She had been so caught up between her awe-stricken admiring and searching for someone who looked to be an official in this whole mess to speak with that she didn't even notice the male approach her.
Even with the welcoming warmth of his soft tone and voice Poseida couldn't help but jolt at suddenly being addressed. Twisting around her brows furrowed together tightly when she came face-to-face with a mess of white fluff.
"Oh." Was her imminent shock-ridden response. Her head slowly craning skyward till she was greeted with the face belonging to the friendly green giant in front of her. "My gods."
Screw pulling people out of the ground, apparently this was also the place where mountains themselves roamed freely around! The scouts decided to leave out that little detail from the rest of the clan.
She took a large gulp as her senses finally were trickling back to her. Right, he wanted to speak with her, didn't he? Come on now, girl, you didn't leave your manners back at the caravan. First thing's first; greet yourself!
"Af-afternoon there!" She chirped cheerfully, forcing herself to flash a mild grin. "I'm sorry, do you live here by any chance? I didn't mean any trouble or to intrude on your little...ah...gathering."
Runa snorted slightly, shaking her head at the mental image of the first lion to discover mint. It had probably been on accident, really, or perhaps watching some other smaller creatures enjoy it. The smell was quite nice, but it was far too overpowering for her to truly enjoy.
She glanced in the direction her sister had motioned in and nodded, heading over towards the area with her already sizable find in her mouth. It wasn't long before she saw more of the little tendrils sticking up out of the dirt and she paused to scrape away at it. Sure enough, another little bundle came out of the ground. It wasn't as big as the one she already had, but it was definitely more and useful.
"I think I'll go bring this to your Captain," she said with a tiny grin that looked far larger than it actually was. "Nice that our groups are working together, eh?"
Gentle green eyes peered down at the lioness in amusement as her gaze followed up to finally settle upon his face, this wasn't the first time he'd met this reaction - it most certainly wouldn't be his last.
"Good afternoon!" He said in a lively manner.
He was caught off guard a small amount by her sudden defensive words. "Yes, I live here." Mti didn't regard the rest of her statement immediately, in fact he fell into a small silence. "I didn't picture you to be one out to cause harm or strike fear into anyones heart - at least not on this day." He smirked a little bit, imagining the small lioness trying to create fear. He didn't know her personality, but the sheer size difference was enough to paint a funny picture.
"You simply appeared curious and rightfully so. We are looking for some pesky plants that have caused some harm to our pride, your arrival wouldn't have been questioned - not today - we have a high volume of outlanders visiting right now that are here as aid." As he began to explain what was going on he appeared to be growing sadder by the word, it was clear the pride was suffering, but suffering what he hadn't actually gotten to the point (but he did get to the point-ish). "Are you just wandering by? Or are you part of one of the larger groups we've seen join us today?"
Tragedy had a way of spreading. Thus it was that a pair of rogues came upon the mountain, each independent in his travels from the other. Both, however, carried the news of misfortune come to this once-secluded pride.
Tafachi came consumed by one thought: how could a plant could make someone so sick? They were lions, mightiest creatures on life, and they could be brought low by a little bit of greenery? The very idea was intensely displeasing to the cloudy-maned male, and he intended to go out of his way to get a thorough answer. Surely, with all of the talk of plants and their pratfalls going on, there would be someone in this pride with some sort of herb lore to their name.
As he grew closer, the male noticed all manner of creatures grabbing bits of green stuff and and taking it...somewhere. Well, if that wasn't the kind of thing to affirm his suspicions! All he would have to do to get his answers would be to follow the crowd. Not wanting to be left out, he scuffed about the turf for something useful-looking as well before continuing onward. He'd never been the kind of lion to show up to the party without an offering, and he wasn't planning to start now.
Sjunheal arrived with more altruistic ideals in mind. He knew all too well what it felt like to lose loved ones to sickness; not a day when by that he did not miss his own mountain home. It was not a fate he would wish on anyone else, nor their pride. So hearing of their plight, how could he do anything but come lend a paw to this pride in need of aid? The circumstances were much too close. They weighed on him now - but would have done so much more were he to ignore that call for help.
It was with an uncharacteristic gravity drawing his features that the massive bear of a lion drew closer to the mountain. He didn't have any practical medical knowledge, but foraging? That was something he could do all day, any day. He was more than happy to do so if it could help avert further tragedy.
