When a wild Nidorina appeared Simon knew he was going to use Sandslash but since he evolved Simon was going to train up someone else. Sending out Pidgey who perched on his shoulder he would get the bird Pokemon evolved then sent to hang with Fearow with his family back home. Along with Fearow Pidgey would become part of his flock team. Of course he would need a flying Pokemon that might be able to counter electric moves since that was a flying Pokemon's downfall.

This was a good area to train and search for Eevee however Simon was thinking about heading out to a different area. That way he could really level up his new team members and take some time to read over his dad's journals. Maybe his mom had an address book of all of his dad's friends just so he could visit them and hear stories about his father growing up. Sending a quick message to her he looked up to see another Eevee. Since he had a fire stone he could evolve her into a Flareon so he sent out Shedinja since for now Eevee was still normal typing.

Returning Shedinja Simon hurried back towards the Pokecenter in order to go ahead and use the Fire Stone on his new Eevee. Once she was evolved he scanned her and put her away for later training. "Flareon the flame Pokemon. Flareon's fluffy fur has a functional purpose-it release heat into the air so that its body does not get excessively hot. This Pokemon's body temperature can rise to a maximum of 1,650 degrees Fahrenheit." It would be pretty cool to train up three evolutions of Eevee at a time since he would always have Greninja, a flying Pokemon, in this case Noivern and a ghost Pokemon. Shedinja and its ability was the one that Simon was training up right now. Before leaving the city they came upon a wild Houndour and though it was tempting to use Shedinja however Simon didn't believe it was a low enough level not to know a fire move so he decided to send out Sandslash instead.

Healing Sandslash up Simon opened up the map app on his Pokenav and basically spun it randomly. After a few spins it stopped on Coumarine City. Deciding to travel there next, the Pokemon were slightly higher level so better to train, he sent out Noivern and told him where to go. With a flap of his wings once Simon was on his back they took off.

As he made his way out of Cyllage, Jay pulled his badge case-- which was as thin as could be, essentially a strip of leather folded several times over, each fold long and wide enough for two rows of four badges-- out of his vest, and tucked the badge into the second little picket on the last strip. He folded it back up, put it away, and placed the TM in a case in his bag. When you couldn't really see things, you had to be organized. He'd edged indicators into each of his pokeballs so he knew whose was whose, he kept his items organized and, if he could, marked in some tactile way so that he could discern them.
In the meantime, though, once they had cleared the city limits and reached the open path, he lifted his head, inhaling the smell of the various greenery around him. Zoey gave several squeaks, the echoes taking a while to resound back, giving him the impression of an open area with various objects in the distance, and off to either sides. For the most part, though, it was pleasantly clear.

The pokemon looked around as they followed their trainer. "The flowers are pretty..." Mawile commented, both Mime Jr and Zoey looking over to him in surprise. He bristled, blushing and leaning away when he noticed. "What!?!" he snapped. Mime Jr blinked, then looked over at Zoey, who, after a moment, turned away to give another few echoes for Jay. Mime Jr, though, stifled a giggle, continuing to follow at Jay's heels.
They didn't make it too far before a pokemon jumped out. He could feel the electriicty coming off it even before he pulled his pokedex out to confirm its typing. He frowned-- none of his active pokemon were very strong against that. "Tod, y'mind takin' care've it? Ah know ya don' have the typin' fer it, but ya can take it easy after," he offered, once he'd released the pokemon. Tod looked up, then at the electric pokemon, nodding and stepping forward. He dropped into a ready stance, then immediately took a running start, leaping into the air and hitting it hard with a water pulse. Electrike retaliated with a tackle, but one Razor Shell later, and it was knocked out. Well... seemed it was time to do a bit of team rearranging.

Jay returned the dewott with a tone of appreciation, moving his pokeball to his back and pulling out his Machop and Mary Lee's pokeballs. He moved Jesse out of his active party as well, attaching the new pokeballs onto his waist, and starting forward. 'Arencha gonna let Mary Lee out, Jay?' Mime Jr asked, following along with him as they started walking into the flowers. "Why? Ya gettin' tired've walkin?" he replied back, turning his head a little with a bit of a playful smile on his face. She pouted. 'I... I wasn't gonna ask for a ride...' she claimed. He gave a big, slow, sarcastic nod, but stopped as a pokemon darted out to stand in front of them. His pokedex identified it, and he raised his eyebrows a bit. A hawlucha? That reminded him he had one of those. Then again, he had a lot of pokemon. Either way, he sent Mawile forward to defeat it, given he was fairly sure fairy type moves would-- hopefully-- still work on it.

Normally the end of the battle meant moving on, but apparently the pokemon wasn't alone. Jay raised his eyebrows and backed up as another pokemon leaped out aggressively, trying to protect its fallen friend. Luckily, Mawile took the surprise and reacted much more instinctively, jumping back, but then rushing forward to use its toothed appendage to bite down, shaking roughly like a dog playing with its toy, and then hopping back. The pokemon fell, Mawile staring at it a moment, breathing heavily, and then looking around, clearly half expecting another to appear. Mime Jr just watched with blinking eyes, h arms down by her side.

Jay frowned at the next pokemon that appeared. A... snubbul. He was pretty sure he already caught one of those. "Mawile, y'mind...? Think it's just fairy so Iron Head should work," he advised. Mawile nodded, rushing forward and hitting the pokemon hard, successfully K.O.ing it. Backing up, Mawile crossed his arms over his chest, giving a nod at the unconscious pokemon. Yeah, that was right... it better faint. He blinked and glanced up, though, as Jay spoke up. "Y'know," the trainer remarked thoughtfully, "Ah should prolly nickname ya... Whadda 'bout 'Molly'?" Mawile blinked. Wasn't that a... girl's name? But it was kind of pretty... B-but no! "Maw..." he remarked, forcing the unenthusiasm to be strong. Jay chuckled. Pondering a nickname for Mawile, Jay came to a stop as a pokemon emerged from the tall grass, leering at them. Even though he couldn't see it, Jay could... pick up on the intimidating aura coming from it. He heard Mawile step forward, but held a hand back, holding him off a moment as his pokedex scanned it. Houndour, huh.... "Hold on uh momen', Mawile," he urged, "Ah think this's uh job fer uh newer addition to thuh team." He pulled out a pokeball, then released the Machop, who appeared facing her opponent, eyes bright and a challenging smile on her face. The Houndour jerked his head up at the defiance in her eyes, then lowered itself to the ground, growling. "Howdy Machop," Jay greeted, smiling a bit as Zoey squeaked by his shoulder. He could get enough of an impression to tell the pokemon was ready for battle. "Chop!" she greeted, flashing a smile back at him over her shoulder. He nodded back, then shifted his focus to the battle at hand. "Think... Low sweep otta be a good start," Jay adviced, and the pokemon nodded, darting forward and dropping down to knock her opponents legs out from under them.

Jay rolled the pokeball holding his new Houndour in his hands, frowning a bit. He nearly didn't catch it; the first one didn't work for some reason. He decided to send the pokemon to the PC, for now, so that he could focus on training Machop and Mawile, and the others as the opportunities came. Once the pokeball was sent, he started walking, but stopped when something-- that he picked up from the brief echo he got from Zoey's supersonic, as well as the sound and feel of it-- flew by. He back up, lifting his pokedex and listening carefully to try and find it, only to realize it had lowered itself a little ways in front of him, hovering in the air, apparently ready for battle. He paused a moment, but then bowed his head, listening. According to his pokedex, it was an electric type pokemon. He started reaching for Mary Lee's pokeball, but stopped when Mime Jr suddenly spoke up. "Wait, Jay!" she exclaimed, flailing her arms around, even though there was no way he would see it, "That pokemon's not touching the ground!" Jay turned his head. "Whaddaya mean?" he asked, frowning. He knew that, but he wasn't sure what the point was. "I mean, it's flying!" Mime Jr replied. "Well yeah, it's-- damn." He caught on after a moment, cursing and pulling his hand away. Electric-flying, as in, ground type attacks wouldn't work. "Leave it to me! I've got this!" Mime Jr declared, running ahead. "Ah, hold on, Mahmy, ah ain't sure--" But he stopped, as she seemed adamant about doing the battle. Hopefully ice was still strong against it....

The pokemon were coming pretty regularly now, so Jay took a seat, closing his eyes to listen. He put his bag down, Mime Jr coming over to sit beside him. He tipped his head, listening, and then refocused as another pokemon appeared. With one leg propped up and his arm resting on his knee, he angled the pokedex in the general direction the approaching noise was coming from, and upon confirming it was a Snubbul, let Mawile take over. He left Machop out of her pokeball, so that she could be at the ready, and was considering releasing some of his other pokemon as well. The fighting pokemon observed, looking slightly impressed by the little steel-fairy's gusto.

Jay took the time to start going through his pokemon's movesets, and frowned when he found that Mary Lee hadn't learned a move she was meant to. He released the little Numel from her pokeball, and she gleefully leaped up in the air, flailing her little limbs with a cry of joy. "Jay!" she cheered happily, scurrying over and leaning into him, nuzzling her way under his arm affectionately. "Hi Jay!" If she had anything of a tail it would have been wagging, if the happy wiggle dance she was doing was any indication. He chuckled, his head bowed a bit and his arm now draped over her. Mime Jr, sitting nearby, was telepathically translating-- without even butting in, for once. It was actually odd to hear the pokemon's direct voice, without Mime Jr's commentary on the conversation... "Howdy Mary Lee," he greeted, lifting his arm up to rub her head. She closed her eyes, smiling at the attention. "Ah noticed we seem to've missed uh move 'mongst all thuh trainin', one you were s'posed t'learn. Ya int'rested in learnin' it now? Think ah got uh few heart scales we could use," he offered. "Sure!" she piped back happily.
While he was preoccupied with that, a pokemon-- a large, round one-- phased out of the ground suddenly, popping up to loom over Mawile. The steel-fairy pokemon leaped back, but before he could recollect himself to fight back-- Machop came flying in from the side, knocking the pokemon out instantly with an attack of her own.
