Julius had taken a few steps back from the blow, but he easily brushed it off. "I hope your just playing." Were his only words before he disappeared, as if he just faded away into nothingness. Until he reappeared before Sebastet, his fist pulled back into a punch. And then he was gone, flickering away from reality. In her peripherals, he laughed and fainted a kick, flickering away until he was back in front of her, this time his hand at her chest. His body vanished, but now his hands were inside her, a trick that Ishmael used to deadly affect. Her lungs would feel like they were being crushed; mainly because they were. Julius phased his hands into her chest cavity and powerfully squeezed her lungs, reappearing a few feet away and wiping his hands on his pants.
"A shame your neutered. I would have loved to rip your plumbing out if only to show you how useless it is. No matter, after I'm done skinning you, I'll skin your mate and turn you both into a lovely coat." Julius stated with a laugh, obviously enjoying this. Something was up his sleeve, yet he seemed to love giving it away.

Sebastet felt her breath rush out of her when he pulled that trick, the pain almost excruciating. Then he let her go and left her gasping for air and the feeling that he'd bruised her lungs a bit with that attack. But it only renewed her anger.
She glared at him and gave off a very displeased growl, "Still fighting dirty, I see, without any honor. Both of you were always like that, though I did think, briefly, that Julius possessed some honor at one time. Now you're nothing but rats that need to be exterminated," she stated simply, knowing that they weren't going to give her a chance to fight them.
She was going to try anyway.
She moved in on the attack, fully expecting them to disappear and do another under-handed trick of an attack. Still, her sword moved as she did, lightening fast, as she took the attack to them.
Yet her mind still raced with possibilities and questions. How to neutralize Ishmael's abilities? How to kill them both and still protect the stone?
She knew full well that she was going to get hurt on this one. Quite likely very badly hurt. But she would heal in time. So that only left her with wondering how to beat them.
So all she could do was leave her bond with Lio fully open so he had full access to her mind and what she was thinking and feeling, including the fact that she had very little to counter Ishmael's abilities until Cassius could get the door open.

This time Julius did not phase away, or try to dodge. As Sebastet lunged forward, he simply walked right into the attack, and sighed as Sebatset passed right through him as if he were a ghost. This was another of Ishmael's favorite tricks; to partially phase his body into the Ethereal Plane, rendering him intangible yet visible to the naked eye. To many this was unnerving, but Sebastet should have known better. He watched as she passed through him, and his foot snagged hers to make her lose balance and tumble before he proceeded towards Lio.
"Hurting Sebastet physically is a waste of time. The eons of pain she has endured make whatever I can do quite lame...." He mused as his stride increased towards Sebastet's mate, one hand going to his sword. "No.... if I will truly hurt her, then I will cut the only thing that matters: you. Tonight, she will bury three bodies."
He stopped a few feet from Lio with a smile, as if daring the Hylarr to make a move on him. He figured Sebastet would be on her feet and making a mad dash to cut him down, or at least attempt a coordinated strike against him so he couldn't phase away. But he knew he would die here, but not a moment before he could strike the obelisk down and open the gate for his Master to return.

That was one request Sebastet could gladly give. She finished moving forward and pressed both hands to the brothers, one above where their combined hearts were. Black flames enveloped them all in an instant and began to consume the brothers.
"Good-bye, for the last time. After this, no one will disturb your rest. I give you my word," she said softly and let the flames take them completely.
Just then, the door opened, Blade running in first. Only to skid to a stop with wide eyes at what she saw happening. She put her hands out to the sides to keep everyone else away, "Don't go near while she's got that stuff going unless you want to die very badly," she warned the others in a slightly awed tone.
Sebastet kept the flames going until the brothers were nothing but two piles of ash on the floor. She finally turned to the others, the black flames still flickering around her. She closed her eyes and the flames went out instantly as a single tear rolled down through the soft fur on her face.
"It's done..." she said in a soft whisper before she opened her eyes to look at the others past Lio, "Go tell Lao. I couldn't stop them from destroying this one. He should prepare," she added before she finally looked into Lio's amber eyes, hoping he wouldn't fear her now after seeing the one power she had that she still feared.
Then she showed that there was a cost to using that ability as she slowly fell to the floor and passed out. Using the Black Flames consumed alot of power for her and she didn't use it very often. She'd been told years ago that if she used it more often, she wouldn't pass out from using it. But she feared what the flames could do, what she could do with them, so she didn't use them very often...

Blade moved into Anube's arms after Lio took Sebastet out of the room, unable to hide a shiver as they passed her. That was the only one of Sebastet's powers that scared the willies out of her. She finally moved out of his arms and looked to the others, finally focusing on Andy, "We'll see you guys later," she said simply, needing to be out of the room. As she lead Anube out of the tower, she did stop in the office to leave a note for Jitters that the room would need to be cleaned and fixed up.
Later, they'd go to Lao. Or the others could go. But she was suddenly finding that she didn't want to fight. She simply wanted to curl up with Anube for about a week and pretend that the rest of the world didn't exist...
((Exit))
Dancer snuggled into Michael a moment then looked to the two piles of ash and told Michael what needed to be done. He couldn't say anything in his current form, so Michael would have to pass it on to the others.
The ashes needed to be collected carefully and moved out into the garden, to the marble stone that carried the brother's names. They needed to be buried there...
Desha caught where Dancer was looking and hesitated a moment, then moved to collect two jars from one of the cabinets in the room and silently passed one of them over to Andy then offered the second one to Michael.

Sebastet led Khajhan to her Lockup Room and revealed a mixed secret to him. This room was for more than keeping her contained when the seals on her temper were broken... This room also held the many-layered protections on the island. In locking her up in here, she ensured both that she couldn't hurt anyone and that the island stayed safe.
She unlocked the door then propped it open, "If the door closes, it can only be opened from the outside. There are two people that have the key to it, to ensure that it isn't opened until it's safe to do so," she told him then moved on inside.
The suite was set up very nicely: plenty of seating in the sitting area, a very nice bed in the bedroom, a bathroom with all the niceties... And a spot on the floor of the bedroom where something had obviously been burned... Sebastet didn't say anything about it, knowing that Khajhan would understand. Or, at least, hoping that he would...
She moved past that spot in the bedroom and touched a hidden spot on the back wall. The wall slid back then to the side and revealed a second wall that was literally embedded with spells, protections, wards, and a few magics that were long forgotten. Central to everything was a map of the island. All of the protections were layered in such a way that there were very, very few loopholes or weaknesses. She'd spent thousands of years working on it all and had done her best to make the place as safe as she could.
She stepped back and looked it all over, able to 'see' the weave of the protections as they layered over the image of the island. Now she was able to see the 'nets' that Khajhan had put in place, noting that there weren't many of them compared to the size of the island. But she said nothing on that. Instead, she concentrated on the few disturbances in her own 'net'...
The chapel and graveyard was identified as the spot Esabel liked to use. But since she wasn't killing anyone on the island, she left her alone. Then there was the former portal to Darkness Abounds...
She put a hand over the spot and felt for the protections, "This is the portal that ruptured... The protections are holding strong, so there's no real need to worry about it yet. The only issues are the RRT group and Esabel's spot here at the chapel. Esabel isn't an issue because she doesn't kill anyone here. If she did, I'd block her. The soldiers are a different matter..." she said then let her voice fade as she looked further out from the island.
It took her a moment then she found it.
She put a finger over an outlying island that barely touched the protections she had in place, "They're here... We sank the other one but they've taken this one... They aren't going to let the soldiers take this on without waiting to come in and mop up... The Hunters are there...." she said softly, her voice a bit distant as she felt through the protections and what she could tell through them.
In truth, there wasn't much they could do about the Hunters yet. But knowing where they were helped more than simply not knowing. And now she could pass on the information to Desmond and Jenny.
Somewhere in it all, she stepped back and found Khajhan there. She simply leaned into him, finally closing her eyes for a moment as he put an arm around her waist and held her. The touch let her come back from the mental world of the protections she'd laid. Whenever she went into the 'weave', she got a bit lost in it and it always took a few moments for her to come back to reality.
His touch helped her come back faster.
She opened her eyes again and looked over the map and spells she had there, "Where do I shore it up? Where do I add more protection?" she asked herself, as she always did, wondering where else to add to the protections she had in place, wondering how to keep everyone alive....
