"I am the sword in the Darkness...
HThe boy felt a cold chill run down his spine when the group reached the room with the two statues. They were human, they were alive, or at least had been at some point, he thought. His face stood cold and still as the faces of those that were frozen, not betraying him or showing any fear. His eyes scanned the room, there was clothing scattered along the ground, had it been theirs? Where there more people in here, and more importantly, were they alright? He had his doubts about that. Axel’s right hand was now resting on his blade, pushing it down and on guard, just in case. Kaileer and the others were clearing the room, going to set fires, that was probably a good idea, they should take some of this clothing and light fires, but with them mostly gone, he would do it himself despite Hatsu’s signal for the genin to move out. He gathered some of the pieces of clothing, namely shirts, that were made of more flammable textiles such as silk and wool. It did not take him long to get some four or five shirts of this kind before he turned and walked to the rest of the group, wherever they may be inside of the facility. This was strange, incredibly so. Were they under attack? Did the Hokage have nothing to do with this, truly? Rin and Hakanai both had white hair, they both controlled Ice, out of the two he had seen a couple of moves from Hakanai which involved some pretty incredible stuff involving ice. Who was to say that a man of the Hokage’s stature was not able to completely freeze someone, or plunge a village into a blizzard, there was little to make the samurai believe that this was not the Leaf Lord’s doing, and his physical resemblance to the other two ice users he knew was not working on his favor.
He threw the pieces of clothing over his left shoulder and ran down the hallway with his hand on his blade, just in case. One never knew just what might pop up around the next corner or from a door, and more importantly, he didn’t know what he might find. As he ran, he thought of Hatsu and her simple motion, his squad was here, Hakanai and Hatsu, they were seemingly safe for the moment, which brought him some relief. He had also seen Toso and in fact had been with him as all of this was starting, but he couldn’t help but worry for his rather unique friend, was he alright? He had shown to have little tolerance for the cold if he was turning to ink, he hoped he wouldn’t do anything stupid. He also worried for his family up in the mountains, back when he was at the Storm Mountains, the blizzard was beginning to brew, it ravaged the country side as well, he saw as much while returning to the village in the train thanks to Wan’s assistance; the Storn family holdings were a ways away from the Storm Mountains, but regardless of that they did share a long mountain border with these mountains, monsoon season came right after the winter months, rain and ice melt tended to flood the lower lining portion of the family holdings, and more often than not the storms that affected the Storm Mountains also affected his family’s holdings, so he was not wholly ignorant to the possible danger his family was in due to this weather. He slowed down as he approached the room and came almost to a complete stop when he approached the door of where everyone was, but it wasn’t because he did not want to scare everyone inside.
Where was Rin? That was the only thing he was thinking currently. In reality, nothing else mattered right now, only that she didn’t end up like the two people in the room he had just exited. He didn’t know anyone in the room he might ask, and Hatsu didn’t seem like she would be of much help currently, but he didn’t really think about that, he wasn’t thinking about anything than finding the girl and making sure she was fine. His right hand let go of the sword and rummaged through his back pack (he hated carrying his backpack everywhere, it felt like a hindrance when he was fighting, but he was thankful for having it with him at this moment) and pulled out the fur pelt that Wan had given him for Christmas, a pelt that worked perfectly as a jacket to protect himself from the cold. He pulled the empty head of the Mountain Lion over his head and rushed passed the group. In one quick movement, he pulled the clothing he had over his shoulder and threw it at the guy that had made the comment about the fire, Osamu, someone he had met before but did not recognize because he had grown so much that if he were to say he was the same boy that helped him put up the tree not so long ago, he would laugh in his face and say he was just some other guy with the same name and abilities. While throwing the wool jacket, a pair of thick pink gloves fell on the ground, seeing them, he picked them up and put them on his hands to keep warm, even if it was just a little, it would help. He opened the door, expecting to be slapped by roaring and howling wind, and half expecting to freeze where he was, but he was pleasantly shocked to find that when he opened the door that would lead him out the wind had died down, it was still cold. As cold as… something that was very cold, so cold he could barely describe it, but his three layers of clothing (normal clothing, a black wool cloak he bought before setting out for the mountain, and his mountain lion pelt) should hold him for some time before he would need to get in some refuge. Hopefully it would be enough to help him find the girl. It took Axel less than a second to run out the door into the dark and snow filled village. It was hard to walk in the snow, but he would manage after sinking an inch or two into the snow. The door behind him closed, and he ran, and ran, and ran, unsure where he was going at first, but he decided that the most logical place to be in a blizzard was within your own home, because should he have his own, that was where he could have gone to.
Aquamarine eyes were filled with constantly changing emotion from the sight that they beheld. First annoyance, then worry, terror...the last was difficult. Like it could be shame or hurt. In front of Soraru were ice sculptures, holding life or death eternal. Any doubts he had on whether or not the blizzard going on was natural had now been confirmed, however he wished that they hadn't been. These two people had lost their lives, or at least is seemed like they had, however they were beyond his help. All the samurai was good for was breaking things or cutting them, not mending or assisting. The only thing that snapped him from his fixation on the statues was the presence of two large tigers, likely summoned by the Hokage. That was right...that man. Things had only really gone wrong on the day a man of his power showed up, but all the same, that wasn't full reason to accuse someone, and he understood that. That was like having himself put on the spot because he had just become a Genin on the same day of this mess. It was a different scale, but the morality wasn't better either way it went.
When Soraru took a step deeper into the room, he noticed something...his movements weren't as fluid, and his limbs felt heavier than usual. Like his movement was too...stiff. That, coupled with the cold that started to bite at his fingertips made him a little cautious. Without hesitation, he unsheathed his katana from its saya just enough for the blade to offer a good cut. He put the back of his hand to the cold steel, and merely bit the inside of his cheek as he put a clean cut into the back of his hand. There were actually multiple scars in that area, showing it wasn't the first time he'd done such a thing. Anyways, he paid attention to the blood flow, noticing how slow the liquid was stemming. It wasn't hypothermia bad, however it wasn't far off. It let him know that he needed to get over to some heat sooner than later.
The samurai cursed under his breath, not knowing what to do in the current situation. He didn't want to stay in the dojo and end up popsiclized like the two in front of him, but going out into the storm was not an option for the group with their Raikage in his current state. As Soraru though up something...anything, the red head who came along had walked right past him with clothes in his arms, however the genin paid no mind to that. There was a constant fear that pounded in his mind, a chilling thought of "you're trapped" that left him feeling less and less at ease. The ice seeping in the dojo, the bodies, the way the storm had led everyone to one spot before the Raikage...Then there was the way that the Hokage himself seemed so at ease with the situation, not troubled in the slightest. Soraru found himself leaving his weapon outside of its saya, not just in defense for whatever icicled the human sculptures, but also subconsciously for the two tigers in the room with him...needless to say, they weren't really making him feel safe.
Finally, the genin decided to leave the room, only turning to see the group that had formed, and an even more debilitated Kaileer. "I...there are two dead villagers in here! They're crystallized in ice...excuse me for speaking up against any orders, but I think whatever is strong enough to create a blizzard like what's going on outside won't really care about us being stuck inside a heated little room with no exit." He called out while approaching the group, crossing his arms both with annoyance at the situation and to heat up his core a little further. "It seems like we're just being corralled like livestock...I don't have any doubt that this is a Ninjutsu, so maybe we can get a group together to form an offensive? Or at least send out a few of us to collect any Jonin our Chuunin still outside. I..." He paused, a deep shudder racking through his body as the crackling of ice seeping into the room filled his hearing.
"I want to get warm as much as the next guy. I also think we should take Kaileer's state into consideration...but I don't know if staying passive is the best decision. It's not my call either way. This was just an idea."

Masahiro looked forward and saw the tiger twins running through the building with the group of children. One of the pair was using Mud Wall to close off rooms with ice or snow entering from the windows or exterior walls. The other was scouting ahead in the rooms with the genin and chuunin of Kumogakure and relaying back to its brother. Their normally playful demeanor seemed quelled as the cold was seeping into the building and they knew their current purpose. But as Masahiro followed down the hallway after Kaileer and his group, he saw another one of the vanguard come dashing back down the hallway past them in winter clothes. If it hadn't been for his ability to see the boy's chakra he would have thought it was another civilian or shinobi attempting to escape.
Conflict hit the Hokage as he saw the group that was carrying the young man, Kaileer further into the building, then the boy running out into the potential belly of the beast. He turned his eyes back to Kaileer seeing that he was seemingly in charge of this group, giving the boy a nod as it had seemed he was in capable hands currently, Masahiro turned on his heel and his hands rose to his hood, pulling the fabric back up over his head and wresting the face cover up from his neckline, coating the lower half of his face in black fabric to match the rest of his clothing. Darting out of the door after the boy the Hokage shut the door swiftly after he made his way out of the academy building and began to follow his tracks through the snow.
Thankfully the snow had compacted, enough to allow them to walk on it, but still soft enough to let footprints be seen on the surface. Following the path the boy had set, the Hokage would attempt to keep himself warm while continuing on the trail.
The conflict on his mind now, was whether it was was worth it to enter the cold to protect one child, or if he should have remained to protect the group as a whole. But as he let his mind wander into this chain of thought an image flashed through his minds eye. One of his goddaughter, Koan, and how he would have put his life on the line to protect her during any such event in Konoha. Then back to Hikari, the young woman who saw him as a father figure in Sunagakure, and how he felt the same protectiveness towards her as he had Koan. All-in-all it would seem the elder Hatake had a soft spot for children in general, and he figured a group as better set to protect themselves without him, than a lone boy rushing headlong into the frigid wilderness this village had become.
Following the trail he would end up charging headlong into the Streets of Kumogakure, eyes examining for chakra figures as he did so. He would not immediately catch up to the boy, but instead meet a mix of footsteps and paths followed as he arrived at the "Livid Landings".

Combat Styles: Hsing-I Pakua: ○ Supreme Awareness: For every stage learned, the user gains a passive ( slight ) awareness bonus. ○ Invigorate: The user utilizes chakra, and sends it to the body to eliminate fatigue and restore stamina. For every 10 chakra sent, 20 stamina is restored. True Belief: The user has meditated and trained long enough in this monk art to understand how important true belief is. By understanding the power of the spirit over the mind, and the mind over the body, the user has increased their stamina by sheer will power alone, as well as increased their toughness and durability. ○ Satori [ Enlightenment ] : Meditation and spiritual exploration and understand yields interesting results. Due to the greater understanding of the self, the user is more aware of the connection between their mind, body and spirit, and how to utilize that connection. The user is now slightly more skilled at just about everything. Striking, blocking, moving, absorbing, and taking damage. King of the Iron Fist: ○ Iron umph: The users ability to tense, stabilize, and execute hard blocks and strikes has increased, making blocking power slightly more increased. ○ Iron resiliency: The User has gone through tough enough training, being banged and moved around in armor to understand what it feels like. The user is now slightly more resilient to damage. ○ Iron Disciple: The user, through hours of intense training in multiple bad scenarios, has learned the old saying of “to kill with one punch.” Because they do not want to find themselves outnumbered, or maybe for pure enjoyment sake, the user is able to hit with great intensity when striking a foe, focusing on tension, grounding, stability, and strength at the impact sight. The users striking strength is increased. ○Iron resolve: The user has been thrown around, impacted, and beaten down so many times that they are not just physically more resistant, they are mentally used to getting their a** beat! The users physical and mental toughness is increased, granting a passive stamina increase. Nigirikobushi no Shintou: ○ Impact Resistance: Upon completing this training, the user suffers no recoil damage from techniques from any non-Rigorous Taijutsu or Bukijutsu Style up to either the highest trained rank in this Style or the highest trained rank in the Hard Physical Formless Style, whichever is lower, and does not suffer damage from striking anything harder than their fists. ○ Focal Point: The user meditates through combat, taking time to narrow their focus to their Chakra pathways. In so doing, they become innately aware of when they are being observed in combat, and can pinpoint the locations of anyone below their rank observing them within one meter. Shigure Souen: ○ Insight Rain :: The user will practice extending themselves into the atmosphere, in a sense. After much dedication, the user develops the ability to sense hostile intent in the immediate area. As to where, however, they cannot be sure. Osamu could feel the cold starting to really seep in as he watched Hatsu and Hakanai carry Kaileer into a more interior room as he saw the tigers that the hokage summoned worked to block off rooms that were being overtaken by ice, in an attempt to insulate rooms to some extent. He then saw Axel run out carrying some clothes and felt some hope of relief form the cold well up within him as he checked in with his kikaichu that was investigating, just as the other boy came running back into the room. “He’s right, Kaileer, my surveillance kikaichu is still in that room, two people, frozen solid into ice statues.. sadly, even if the rest of the medics and I all worked together, I doubt they could be saved.” Osamu turned just in time to catch the clothes thrown his way before he saw Axel run out of the building. Shaking his head at the other boy, thinking him somewhat crazy for running out into the blizzard, especially alone. Inspecting the clothes he had been given, Osamu felt the hope build up a little more, “Wood, silk, linen.. these will burn well, I can use them as kindling to burn the training dummies; generate the most heat with the least effort.” Osamu would move as quickly as he could, the slow loss of feeling in his hands and feet, and placed the shirts onto the dummies circling the room. Osamu would then move to where he could have a straight line to each of the dummies without the others getting in the way. Twitching his eyes in various directions, he thought about where each dummy was as he took a deep breath in, fighting back a cough as the cold air hit his lungs, and exhaled a long stream of flame. Moving with the flame from one dummy to the next, he’d set them all ablaze, giving the group somewhat of a ring of heat sources around them. Taking a few more slow breaths after he finished the jutsu, Osamu sighed as he would feel the warmth of the fires start to bring feeling back to his limbs. Looking to Hatsu, Hakanai and Kaileer, the Aburame boy nodded quickly, “Hopefully that will help.”
"Be the fly on the wall…..strike like a nest of hornets."
Through the course of the day random bits of music could be heard coming from the second floor of the academy tower. If one were to trace the music they would find Inori, sitting along with her guitar singing more than happily. Her eyes were closed and she wore a pair of noise canceling headphones over her ears to prevent any breaks in concentration so she could work on her next song. Though the actual progress of working on her next song was hardly quick. In fact it was quite the opposite as she had only managed to write a dozen bars for it and no lyrics in any way. While she was well aware of the snowstorm she, in her state, had no idea just how bad things had gotten. With an exasperated groan Inori set her guitar onto the ground and cleared her throat. As far as she knew the room was soundproofed, or at least so the instructor had told her. (To which he lied) Taking a deep breath she began to sing one of her first songs, one she knew by heart. Each note rang out through the floor and down into the lower floor, as she was right by the stairs, with clear and beautiful tones. Her voice sliding effortlessly into the upper soprano when needed then back down to the lower end of the same octave. While her song did not have all the fancy effects it did on the record she still belted it out like she was performing none the less. Though if she actually knew that half the building could hear her she would never ever have sung like that. Each note spilled from her with the same emotion she had given them when she wrote it the first time, all in all a beautiful piece. Having finished her song she decided that, that was enough for today. She leaned down and placed her guitar into its case with a smile and zipped it up. Taking her large fur trimmed cloak and wrapping herself up in it she pulled her headset off and only now realized just how bad things had gotten. There was frost all over the windows and some were shattered out right. Quickly heading out of the classroom, guitar case in hand, she almost slipped on a patch of ice as she carefully made her way down the stairs to see a line of flaming dummies, the Raikage, who liked like he was literally freezing his booty off, and a cluster of people. Trying to make as little noise as possible Inori crossed the distance to the group to where Kai was. Setting her guitar down she shrugged off the heavy fur lined cloak and offered it to him with a smile,"You look like you need this more than me." Truth be told she knew she was going to be cold without it but now that things were aflame she could at least cuddle up close to a fire. Which lead her to quickly reach down and snatch her guitar off the ground and hold it close to her chest. No way were they going to burn her guitar.

[Soraru, Shu, Osamu, and Kaileer lose 5% of their max stamina per post. Make sure your stamina number is in your posts.]

Like Osamu moments before, Shu would begin to feel numb with cold. Although the cub already complained of wanting a nap, he would begin to feel heavy, like sleeping was more important than trying to find somewhere warm. As for Osamu himself, although the fires helped a little, for some reason the cold persisted as aggressively as the ringing he and a couple of others heard.
Further down the hall, a gathering of fog drifted in the direction the few fleeing civilians had gone, leaving a trail of ice in its path. As Inori came down the stairs, she passed through the mist, which would send shivers down her spine from the cold, but it was just a passing chill. It was the ice left in its wake that she nearly slipped on a moment later.

-----ιt didn't take Hakanai long to toss pride out the window, but I found that quite frankly I didn't care at that point. I could hardly support my own weight under how weak I suddenly felt. Any sort of solid thought was hard to come by as well, sheer exhaustion throwing me into apathy and making me feel heavy. I think we made it into a room, and fires were being lit given the sudden burst of warmth. I'd stopped shivering, but wasn't so sure that was a good thing. -----Soraru mentioned dead villagers encased in ice, and questioned what action should be taken. I heard the words, but they took time to process, and forming my own sentences took even longer. He must have realized because he spoke of my condition, but he had no desire to stay passive and wait for whatever was causing this to come to us. I decided it best, for the moment, to stay silent. They were all young, intelligent individuals. They could come up with a plan. Or, at least, that seemed the most logical decision at the moment given I was pretty much useless. That seemed to be a common theme lately. -----At some point during the haze my mind had fallen into, a thick coat was shoved into my face. I was freezing and, although it was clearly too small, I took it gratefully anyway, draping it over my shoulders the best I could. I didn't recognize the girl who'd handed it to me, but it didn't mean I hadn't met her; putting a name to the face just wasn't happening. -----They were still waiting for an answer. Even with a clear mind, I probably wouldn't have had any idea what to do besides find somewhere safe and warm. But people had died? We weren't somewhere out of harms way then if that was the case. "s**t..." Not the word I'd intended to use, but it summarized what thoughts I did have on the situation. My free hand moved to my face and I rubbed my eyes trying to force myself to think straight. "Search the building... Ah... Make sure the villagers are safe." The words felt heavy and slow, and Hakanai couldn't hear them at all. I wasn't sure how to translate to her.

Where was it?! She had to find it! Ugh! In sheer frustrated and anger, Hakanai's hands went to the scroll rack and shoved it all off as few scrolls fell onto the ground. Her hands rested on the cabinet as she panted heavily. What was she going to do? Pale hues glanced towards Kaileer and she saw him by a fire and some new girl by Kaileer as a flash of jealously rose in her. But something caught in the corner of her eye. Turned, she saw the mist forming. The ice forming in few places as her brow furrowed. What was going on? Without communication or letting them know where she was going, she headed off to follow where the mist was coming from by going against the flow of the mist.
Shu shook his head as he sensed nothing. Absolutely nothing. This room smelled of ice and water which was normal. Growled under his breath, he headed back towards the room and found that they had moved. Hakanai was no where to be found. No matter. Shu went to behind Kaileer and then laid down, almost making a half circle around Kaileer's body, so if he was to lay back he would be resting on Shu's extremely warm and soft size. The cub's massive head was by Kaileer's leg as he rested, he felt tired and drowsy but one thing was of an issue, which was the stupid noise that was keeping him up.
From what Hatsu had gathered, something around them was happening but only affected certain people so far. Kaileer should have had more stamina than what he was showing, but instead was freezing and could not do much. Aside from that, Hatsu noticed a few things. First more and more people seemed to be catching the bug, growing tired faster than they should. Second, a new face appeared, giving Kaileer a coat, and sitting by the fire to warm up. Finally, Soraru and Axel would come back, the latter bringing clothes, but the former only bringing bad news. Two people had been frozen to death, in another part of the building. If they didn't move fast they would become frozen as well. Axel seemed a little off as well, having come from the same place, and quickly vanished, leaving through the front door of the building. The Hokage followed.
Upon hearing Kaileers order, Hatsu would start to exit the room. [color#1E90FF]"I'll scout, but if anyone would is feeling warm enough to join me, by all means." Hatsu did not take any of the clothes Axel had supplied from the other room, resistant to the cold by her blood instead of layers. The others would make better use of them anyways. Whether anyone followed her or not, time was of the essence, and they needed to scout the area so they may know what they are up against. Immediately as Hatsu would enter the fog, her Mist Vision Technique would activate, allowing her to see through the fog. Starting on the first floor, Hatsu would begin to search every room.

Tsumetai [ Cold to the Touch ]: The skin of each Shinsetsu clan member is chilled; producing a refreshing, almost intoxicating aura. This aura does not stretch far from one's person, and only the Shinsetsu and those in direct contact with him/her can truly appreciate the feeling. Because of this attribute, humidity is a foreign concept to the Shinsetsu, and only the most extreme of heats will cause those within tsumetai's effect to break a sweat. Additionally, this consistent cold has weathered their skin and innards, providing an internal and external resistance to freezing temperatures. Although not exactly topical, it should be noted that thanks to their relaxing aura, the Shinsetsu are considered some of the most desirable lovers in the world. Basic Endurance Training :: The Stamina costs of X-Rank techniques in Pi Qua Quan are reduced by 5, down to a minimum cost of 5. Extreme Climate Resistance Training :: Hatsu does not suffer from adverse climate effects. Advanced Endurance Training :: The Stamina costs of techniques in Pi Qua Quan are reduced by half if Hatsu has used them in the last two posts.
(Kaileer, Inori, and Hatsu) Okay. So they had a go ahead. They had an objective. Soraru's mind worked in a strange way when it came to troubling situations. He could come up with a multitude of potential plans, however none of them went without risk. He didn't want to say something, only for others to follow his words and get themselves killed. To be honest, just the thought was a little terrifying. As long as he had an order, he could follow it out properly; he could think without the stress. "Okay Kaileer. Get some rest. We'll return when we check for everyone. As for you...huh?" He was directing his last words to the girl who had given Kaileer her rather luxurious jacket, however those words got caught in his throat when he saw her. It wasn't a matter of attraction, though she was fairly aesthetically appealing, with her fair skin, oddly colored eyes, and dark hair...but it was a matter of familiarity. The guitar, her appearance, the money to own the jacket she offered. "Well, we have all sorts of grand company. Erm...Yuzuriha-san right? Please, look after Kaileer. If anything threatening happens, scream out. I'll come running." There was really no mistaking her, though she was the last person he expected to see. When Hatsu spoke up, he replied to her. "Be careful and take it slow. I'll join you in a moment, once I get some warmer clothes on."
(Hakanai) Soraru took the moment to gather up some clothes from the pile before they could be tossed into the fires. His clothes had some minor combat capability, but they weren't very insulated, and wouldn't protect him from the cold all too well. Before making the move to put them on, his eyes managed to catch Hakanai wandering off alone. Did she understand the situation? She hadn't really done too much but tend to Kaileer the best she could. Deciding to not take any chances, he jogged forwards, putting a hand on the girls shoulder to catch her attention. If she turned around, he'd remove his katana and point it in the direction she was headed, before bringing the point of his blade to the ground. There, he made a single kanji with the tip of the blade: 危; danger. The boy couldn't tell her much more without her getting out some paper so he could write to her. Even if that was the case, he didn't want to waste the time. They needed to account for the villagers. Soraru figured though that if he was going to ever end up going on missions with her, he should really consider trying to learn sign language.
(Changing into warmer gear, exchanging equipment.) With all that done, he began to walk towards the path that Hatsu took, leaving Hakanai to do as she pleased. If she carried on, it was on her. Honestly, he'd rather she be another pair of eyes to look after Kaileer. Ugh. His next move wasn't one that he was looking forward to though. Before actually going much further, he began to remove the straps that kept his armor on. It all fell to the floor in unison. The straps, chest armor, and flat pauldrons/forearm protectors. Wasn't anything excessive for a samurai, but it was durable enough to be a great defense. Then came the leather strap which tied his saya to his hip. Once he was all disarmed, the genin removed his coat. the shirt following right after. Soraru was fast to make sure that he wouldn't be unreasonably cold for any longer than he needed to. By the time his shirt hit the floor, Soraru had pulled on a thicker, dark, baggier one before pulling on the jacket. Black, with brown fur lining it inside and out at the hood. Once it slide on and he got his arms through it, the boy let out a sigh of relief, tilting his head back. It was much warmer than what he had on before. With that done, he leaned down to pick up his armor, fitting it back on over the new jacket, then doing the same for his saya and strap. The genin went to a kneel to take the senbon out of his jacket pockets and put it into the new one. When he took out the single kunai from the other pocket, he decided to keep it in his hand rather than put it away. It would be a good defense for whenever he didn't have his katana out.
Alrighty! Now that he was somewhat toastier than before, and had an objective in mind, the young samurai went off to follow Hatsu. The fog was a little alarming- not so much as the ice on the floor, but still enough for him to decide that walking through it blindly wasn't a good idea.
(Brief learning post for mist vision.)
Stepping forwards despite it all, the boy channeled his sution chakra, understanding that something light like mist could be perturbed. He put his hands together, fingertips rising with the kunai in his hand staying on by having the ring on the pommel around his finger. Now, if he understood anything about chakra manipulation...
His tenketsu paths in his body began to open up, carrying on to his eyes. He felt like he could see through the mist just a bit, but what he was doing was still unrefined. It was similar to staring at the world through a pipe, with only a straight line ahead. No peripherals at all, with an effect that was giving him a small headache.
When he forced his chakra outwards, the area around him came into sight much more easily. It was like a pulse left that pushed apart everything around him, disrupting the mist and forcing it back until it completely left his vision. Much akin to water rippling on the surface, and with that, the technique was completed. It was almost disconcerting, how well he was getting the hang of Ninjutsu. The poor samurai didn't know if that helped with his honor or pride, but he knew it was useful for locating the villagers who could be in danger...that balanced it out enough for him. (Hatsu) Just as he did so, the back of Hatsu came into vision, along with the ice along the floor and walls. Nice to know, so that he didn't end up slipping like a fool. "Hey, Hatsu." He called out to the girl, approaching in a small jog. Unfortunately, the breath from speaking and running was clearly visible in the air, and he felt the cold grip his lungs. He noticed that the other genin was still dressed incredibly light, something that surprised him. Soraru lived a life in the almost always snowing Land of Iron, but he was still feeling the effects of the environment around him now. "I don't think what Kaileer's going through is a coincidence. Even I'm starting to feel a bit exhausted. Whatever got to him is also freezing over everything, I'm guessing. How come you're the lucky one who's breezing through?" He asked the girl, though with a smile on his lips rather than accusation in his tone. He was honestly curious, not really trying to investigate her. That would be a bit too disrespectful towards her, and fairly dishonorable, considering she was the one who just helped him out with his Ninjutsu a little while ago.

Osamu stood by one of the flaming training dummies, trying to warm up, but having difficulties doing so as he saw the famous Inori come down and give Kaileer her jacket. The longer they stayed there, the more he could tell that Kaileer was becoming rather incoherent from the cold. He’d listen to what the others all said and think about what he would do since they seemed to be ignoring him for the most part; though, he was used to that being an Aburame as they tend to go unnoticed.
His voice relatively monotone and soft, Osamu shrugged his soldiers and called up a few more of his kikaichu. Linking minds with them, he sent them out in separate directions to scout the area and try to find the source of this thing as he followed quietly behind the rest of the group that had headed into the hallway with the mist, working on avoiding the strange cloud as best he could as he huddled up a bit inside his hoodie. He’d occasionally switch between what was in front of him and the mental links with his kikaichu to see what was around the other parts of the building as they flew around.

Nakano Toshihiro
Toshihiro stood outside the Dojo thinking about what he was going to train and work on for the day, as well as who would be in there. He wore a white gi top with a black hakama on with black tabi on his feet. Over his outfit he world a black long coat to protect his body from the cold weather conditions. Wrapped around his face was a red scarf to protect his ears and face. Not very shinobi like, but it was comfortable to him.
The quietness outside helped him think for a bit the eerie feeling of being in such a quiet place felt out of place to him. When he first came to Kumo, with his Mother, from the Land of Iron he was not allowed to set foot in the Dojo. That all changed later on when the Raikage accepted his request that he be trained as a Shinobi, despite growing up with a Samurai background.
He opened the door letting the cold air enter, for which he might get scolded for, and entered. He closed the door behind him and shook off the chills.

As she warmed herself by the fire's Inori saw, and heard the dark brownish, greyish, blackish, haired man talking to her. While she did not recognize him, he clearly recognized her. With a soft smile she nodded when he asked her to look after Kai. It was a fair enough request and one she would be happy to do, after all that was her intent to begin with. Though before she really got a chance to respond in adequite fashion he had headed out for one reason or another. So shouldering her guitar case she took up a position next to Kai watching him, and the mist, carefully.
While the rest of the shinobi went about doing their own thing searching the building she started trying, and quickly failing, to piece things together. She was smart, and educated but she was never very good at putting things like this together. With a heavy sigh she started rubbing her shoulders and biceps for warmth when the cold started to set back in. If this was what life as a shinobi was like, then she was clearly out of her element.
Having given up on figuring things out she smiled a bit looking to the side towards Kai,"Soooo, I am not very good at being a ninja but I could maybe sing you a song? Play something? Distract you from the cold if nothing else." Truth be told she felt really really really useless right now, not that she would ever say something like that.

The young Raikage gave Inori no response. In fact, upon closer inspection, she would find that he had lost consciousness. His breathing was slow and shallow and, if she checked for it, his pulse was weak. But with the presence of the fires and the resting cub, he didn't seem to be getting any worse.
As for Shu, although the fires and closeness of the unconscious Kaileer provided warmth he wasn't feeling any warmer. However, he wasn't getting colder either.
Upon trying to enter the building, it took several seconds for the door to actually give under Toshihiro's attempts. When it finally budged, there was a loud crack of ice shattering, the clear substance spilling shards across the ground. No one was within immediate sight when he stepped inside, but a couple of people hurried out of one room, seemingly headed after something. The room they emerged from emitted a warm glow, not unlike from a fire.

For the ones who used the Mist Vision Technique, the cloud of fog revealed... nothing but the hall on the far side of it. Nothing made up its center. Or, at least, nothing hid within. Still, as it drifted down the hall, it left a trail of ice in its path. And it moved rather slowly at that, a leisurely pace as it seemed to be searching for something, oddly enough.
Eventually, it drifted into one of the other rooms of the academy, slipping through cracks in the frame until it was completely gone. A moment later, there was a scream from within, as well as an inhuman shriek that was not unlike the buzzing Osamu and Soraru had both been hearing. As for Osamu himself, he would begin to feel dizzy and possibly nauseous, and the cold and exhaustion he felt was still getting worse.
Should they enter, they would find a towering creature, near ten feet tall, made purely of a crystalline substance that could be guessed as ice, given the cold it radiated. It was thin, fragile in appearance, but mist gathered around it like a skin that seemed to be emitted by a black orb in the center of its chest.
Beyond it, several civilians huddled against the far wall, as far from it as they could. It was them that the creature approached, not seeming to even notice the shinobis' presence.

Before I could investigate any futher, I felt a hand upon my shoulder. With a sudden growl and snap, I pulled my shoulder away. I didn't apperiate it though he was kind about it. Most poeple would been more rought. With a soft lower of my head, I gave my apology as I rose my hand in a small circle motion on my chest, as well mouth sorry. There was so much on my mind and I was slowly getting frustrated. At this situation. At everything. I had no idea what was going on. Soon, the same ally I met not too long ago who was standing before now, had wrote something on the floor with his katana. I saw the design and gave him a soft of a nod. I knew that.
With a deep sigh, I assumed his touch and the way he stopped me; he didn't want me to go any futher. To add onto my assumption, I thought we would discuss this. I found myself following Soraru as I started to put on warm clothes. Not only that, I made sure to find other things. With sheer luck, I also found some thick and heavy blankets. These would be good. I quickly made my way towards where Shu and Kaileer was. I didn't pay attention to the group as I leaned down and frowned. Kaileer wasn't responding. My heart thudded against my chest and I honestly thought it was going to leap out. My hand reached out to check his pulse and I noticed they were trembling and shacking badly. Why was I so scared? Was it because of the time we spent together and I feared losing him? With a sharp swallow of my salvia, I mustered up the courage and ignored the near brimming tears in my eyes.
He was okay. With a sigh of relif, but he wasn't okay either. I covered both Shu and Kaileer up with the blanket. Shu's head could be slightly seen. As for Kaileer, he was basically a burrito, even blanket around his head. I wrapped them both proper to where they can move but as well open between them, to have them continue share heat. So distracted in their care, I turned around and find the group gone. Startled, I immediately stood up and anger washed over me. I hated this! Yes, I am deaf but I wanted communication! I wanted to know what's going on! With a cry of frustration, I kicked one of the bokken away and it thudded against the wall. I could felt it's vibration form my force. I was a Chuunin and I wanted to be respected as one! No one bothered to communicate with me! Times like this, I hated being deaf. My pale blue hues glared at the girl for a moment before back down at Shu. I noticed his ears are flatten. Why? He was hearing something he didn't like. I wanted to ask, but how can I know his answer?
Maybe I wasn't meant to be a shinobi.
Maybe my teachers were right, there should not be any deaf shinobi.
What if something happen and I couldn't save anyone? That could be avoided if I can hear?
What if Kaileer dies?
My heart pounded so hard and slow, anger boiled in my veins as I was still consumed with pure frustration and doubt. Wanted to stay close, I sat between the girl I never seen before and Kaileer as well Shu. My leg was underneath one of my other leg as it was upright. I was prepared to jump up in action if I needed to.
One thing for sure, when this was all done, I will be sure to quit. My teachers were right.
