Next Osamu pulled scroll from his pack and opened it up to read through the first couple stages of the taijutsu style he had decided he wanted to learn. Reading through the first stage, he saw that it was all spiritual techniques that mainly required meditation, so he sat down and folded his legs in. The first thing was fire, which he had some understanding of since he was able to manipulate his chakra into that element. Fire was the constantly moving, constantly changing element. With that he could explode, burst, dance around the field of battle at higher speeds. Feeling like he had a decent grasp on that one, he moved on. (1/1)
The second element was another one that he had access to with his normal ninjutsu, earth. Earth was solid, stable, but still managed to be active under the surface. With the element of Earth added to his techniques, he could increase their defensive capabilities to stop some incoming attacks in their place, and if not, he could at least deflect everything into the ground. (1/1)
Next was the element of Metal, not a chakra element that he know of, but Osamu thought about it as he meditated as if it were the metal of a blade. Metal was hard, decisive, capable of splitting things in half with a single strike. Thinking of his strikes with the concept of the splitting meal, Osamu thought about how he could increase the power of a single one of his strikes to hopefully help him end a fight with a single technique. (1/1)
The next element was Water: flowing, formless, soft, yet powerful. Osamu thought about the mountain springs and streams he’d seen as a kid around lightning country, how they just flowed gently through their banks, but over time could carve out huge valleys. This would allow him t increase the penetrative power of his strikes, even to get through armor if needed as the vibrations would rattle everything right through. (1/1)
The final element in this style was wood, the genin thought about it in terms of a tree at first. The greater the tree’s branches, the deeper and wider its roots went. Trees and other plants were able to grow and smother everything in their way. With this essence applied to his techniques, Osamu couple speed up the transitions between techniques in combination to smother opponents with repeated strikes so that they would find it difficult to defend or attack back. (1/1)
Hsing-I Pakua Stage 1 Learned
Moving on to the next set of techniques, Osamu scanned through the scroll quickly before standing to try them out. The first two seemed to go together into an easy combination. Osamu would lift his left knee to his chest before quickly thrusting his hips forward and extending the lifted leg for a front kick. He’d then push off with his base leg and jump forward, switching his legs to kick with the other leg, the two kicks heading roughly for the stomach and head of an opponent, if he had one. As he landed back in his stance, Osamu would land with his upper body twisted so that his left arm and right leg were forward. He’d then torque his hips back the other direction, extending his right arm for a powerful punch aimed for the solar plexus. (1/1) (1/1)
Next Osamu would visualize someone attacking, punching at his stomach. Osamu would hollow his torso out, keeping it out of striking range as he parried it across his body and out of the way. He’d then bounce back in with a quick palm strike at chest level, then he’d throw a few punches and kicks, as if he were pressing his offense. (1/1)
The last technique of this stage was a purely defense maneuver. Osamu would bend his left arm up, as if reading a book, as he stretched his right arm down towards his knee, turning the palm outward. This arm configuration formed a great sield of sorts for deflecting incoming attacks as he twisted his hips to see how it would move to absorb and redirect strikes. (1/1)
Hsing-I Pakua Stage 2 Learned
For the next set of techniques in the style, Osamu decided to make another insect clone. He started off by turning his left foot outward before lifting and torqueing his hips around to throw a roundhouse kick at the clone’s femur. On impact, the clone would bend down to grab its leg, which is when Osamu would bring his right elbow straight down into the clone’s shoulder, forcing it nearly to the ground. From there, Osamu would launch himself up with a double knee strike into the clone’s chest, knocking it backward to land on its back. The genin would then spread his legs slightly to pin the clone’s arms to the ground so that he was free to beat on the clone all he wanted. (1/1) (1/1)
Next Osamu would concentrate some chakra into his hand as he burst out and grabbed at the clone. Getting ahold of its jacket, Osamu would try to whip a couple punches in by using his arm and body like a rubber band. Unfortunately, the clone managed to block the strikes and escape his grip as his chakra control slipped slightly. (1/2)
Trying again, Osamu grabbed the clone by the jacket again with his chakra enhanced grip. He’d then start jerking the clone around, keeping it constantly off balance as he punched it in the stomach repeatedly. He’d finally whip the clone towards him as he torqued his hips in for a hard palm strike to the forehead, the bidirectional collision causing the clone’s feet to fly out form under it as Osamu spiked it into the ground. (2/2)
For the next technique, Osamu would fire off a quick side kick at his clone, hitting it in the stomach to fold it over. He’d then track his arm around the right arm of the clone, trapping it to keep it in place and prevent counter-attack as he dropped his weight and burst upward to slam an uppercut into the clone’s chin. This would make the clone lurch up and back, nearly falling over backwards if the original hadn’t had ahold of its arm. (1/1)
Getting in close range with his clone again, the clone would try to punch him in the ribs. Osamu would parry the strike aside, wrapping the arm up with his left arm to immobilize it. He’d then throw a knee strike or two into the clone’s gut to bend it over as he snaked his right arm around the clone’s neck and to catch his other hand to lock everything up. From there, he’d hold it as the clone slowly quit squirming and dropped to its knees, passing out. He’d then let it go and help it get going again. (1/1)
Hsing-I Pakua Stage 3 Learned
For the next set of techniques, Osamu burst in and grabed his clone. He tried to lift and spike the clone, but was having difficulty lifting it. After a few seconds of struggle, he gave up on the lift for this attempt. (1/4)
Osamu would try to get his chakra flowing to increase his strength as he tried to grab the clone again. This time the clone decided to fight back , keeping him from getting a solid grab for a while. When he finally got a good hold, he tried to lift, but had lost his concentration on his chakra in the struggle for a hand hold and failed to get the lift. (2/4)
Trying the technique again, Osamu flooded his system with chakra as he finally managed to get a good hold of the clone quickly. He tried to lift, and with his chakra-enhanced strength, he was able to lift the clone clean over his head. Smiling to himself, he went for the last part of the technique, but he failed to ge the clone turned over, so he ended up just putting the clone back on its feet. (3/4)
Feeling like he almost had it, Osamu flooded his system with chakra again and burst in, grabbing ahold of the clone again. Tucking his hips under, he got the lift easily this time as he flipped the clone over as he lifted. Finally he’d pick his feet up and slam the clone downward as he dropped quickly, watching the clone land square on his head and disperse. (4/4)
Looking through the last few techniques of this stage, Osamu figured he could link them together into one long combo, making another clone from his insects, he squared off with it and prepared how he would go through everything. Osamu would try to coat his body in chakra as he ran at the clone, releasing it as he stopped. It was meant to send the clone staggering back, but didn’t work. Osau then tried to burst into a flurry of punches, striking ten times at the clone’s chest and arms, but somehow the clone was managing to block everything. He’d finish by coating his palm in chakra and trying to slam the clone on the chest, but the clone would again block the strike, the clone early starting to laugh at him. (1/4) (1/3) (1/4)
Stepping back, Osamu would take a more intellectual approach to the techniques for a moment, trying to figure out the best way to perform each of them. The rushing spirit was largely a diversionary tactic, meant to stagger opponents, unless they were lower rank than you, to create openings for more attacks. The rushing rooster was a good follow-up if the first one worked, as it could take advantage of the staggered opponent to beat their chest in with nine or ten rapid-fire fast hits. After that the vibrating palm was more of a temporary fight stopping strike, causing temporary blurred vision and difficulty moving. (2/4) (2/3) (2/4)
Trying the moves again, Osamu coated himself in chakra, releasing it as a wave as he rushed at the clone, but it only caused the clone’s arms to blow out of the way. This was enough, however, for him to start the rushing rooster combo, hitting the clone nine times along its center line, making it jerk around with each hit. Fainlly going to finish with the vibrating palm, Osamu messed up his chakra control and the strike hit, but didn’t appear to have the extra effect it was supposed to. (3/4) (3/3) (3/4)
Trying one more time, Osamu coated his body in chakra again, rushing at the clone. As he got close, he released the wave of chakra at the clone, sending it staggering back. With another burst of speed, Osamu started to beat down the clone’s center line and into its arms with a flurry of ten punches before focusing more chakra into his palm and slapping the clone on the chest, letting it vibrate slightly on impact. He saw the clone fall to the ground and struggle to move for the next minute or so before it dispersed in a swarm of kikaichu. (4/4) (4/4)
Hsing-I Pakua Stage 4 Learned
"Be the fly on the wall…..strike like a nest of hornets."
Stashing away the taijutsu scroll, OSau pulled out a scroll on the bukijutsu style he wanted to learn, smiling as he’d finally be learning how to really use his kusarigama. Spreading his feet to about shoulder-width apart, Osamu bent his knees slightly as he held the kama in his right hand and the weighted end in his left, swinging the two slightly to see how they’d move. (1/1)
Sending chakra to his arms and general upper-body, Osamu reinforced his limbs to make them move faster for a short time. Holding his kusari in his right hand, he performed two fast cuts with it, both at about chest to neck level. He’d then try it again, swinging the kama by the chain to give it a bit more range. (1/1)
Still holding his chain with his feet shoulder-width, Osamu would lift his right knee into his chest before thrusting his foot forward at about stomach level. This kick would be good for folding opponents before cutting them. Trying again, he threw the kick a bit higher, about chest level, which would easily be knocking opponents back several feet. (1/1)
Baiken no Kusari Stage 1 Learned
Next Osamu would try out the next and final stance of the style. He’d place his right foot under his body, placing most of his weight on that as he put his left foot out towards where his opponent would be, a pretty standard cat stance. He’d then hold his kusarigama with his blade nearer his right hand, starting to spin the blade as he held the weight of it towards where the opponent would be. As he spun it, he felt like attacks would be easier to pull off. (1/2)
Exiting the stance, Osamu would switch his hands and settle back into the stance again. This time he had the weight of the weapon in his right hand, spinning it like a wrecking ball. He also had the bladed end of the kusarigama in his left hand, towards where his enemy would be standing. With the spinning wrecking bal, Osamu felt like defending would be easier, but attacking would be slightly more difficult than normal. (2/2)
Staying in that stance, Osamu would start spinning the weighted end of his kusarigama rapidly as he squared off with a training dummy. As he kept the thing spinning, he tried to concentrate on the center of the chest of it as his ideal target. After a few more seconds, he threw the spinning weighted chain, but it flew off-course and missed the dummy entirely. Pulling hard on the chain, Osamu would reel the weight back in so that he could try again. (1/2)
This time, Osamu got the weight spinning again, focusing on the center of the dummy’s chest like he had before as he thought about what went wrong on the first attempt. He ended up figuring that he had released it at the wrong time, causing it to fly too high an over the dummy’s shoulder or head. This time, he released the chain at the bottom of the circle, giving it a jerk forward as he released. This time, the weight soared forward straight on target, slamming into the dummy’s chest, cracking the wood. Osamu would then reel the weight back in as he chuckled slightly (2/2)
The last technique of the stage of the style was using the bladed end of the kusarigama. Switching his hands, Osamu started spinning the bladed end as he watched the dummy some more, trying to pick his target. After a minute or so, Osamu would throw the kama at a little bit of an arc and watch as it zipped towards the dummy. After a few seconds, the kama had rushed over the dummy’s shoulder, at which point Osamu tugged back on the chain, recalling the blade. (1/2)
Trying again, Osamu got the blade spinning rapidly as he stared down the dummy, trying to think of how to get it more on track. Figuring out where he wanted to hit the dummy, Osamu traced the arc back to where he was as he spun the blade. Finally, Osamu threw the blade in an arc as it spun out to strike the dummy in the side of the neck after missing and wrapping around its neck . Osamu would then give a tug on the chain, causing it to unwrap and come zooming back to him. (2/2)

"Be the fly on the wall…..strike like a nest of hornets."
Fang reentered the Dojo and Academy, approaching Wanryoku with a warm smile and a bow. He explained, "I have cooled down now, after doing those missions. I am happy to report that I felled around twenty trees and reduced them into firewood, carrying a couple hundred to the Residential District. I'm ready for a new mission parameter, at your discretion. Wanryoko-sensei." He appeared to have put in some decent effort in those missions and hoped Wanryoku would notice.

Eh, oh well. It seemed like just as he got there, people were already being sent to work. He knew he should probably get some jobs done as well...but there were also techniques that he was extremely excited to work on. "Eh, yknow what? You don't need to worry about me, you're all pretty busy. I'll be doing some training before heading out on a job. I'll definitely be back here later though. If anyone is up for some group work then, just give me a shout! The name's Soraru. I look forward to fighting with each and every one of you." He said, giving a charming grin and brief wave before heading away from the group and back inside. He looked over towards a larger set of training dummies, giving a small sigh. The samurai had some work to do.
A grasp of his hilt, the lightning quick unsheathing of his blade, his lips parting as he exhaled...everything was in motion as his chakra lit within his body, preparing for combat. In the span of a second, his blade was in both hands, and the dummy already had a clean cut in its torso. But...it was still too slow. His record was half of a second. Still too slow.. He thought, but continued to continue his motions anyways. Still...he needed to be faster than that.
Chakra enhanced his nervous system, his blade undergoing the same effect as the edge glowed blue. He always felt more at ease when doing the scabbard technique, like his blade was even lighter. Soraru quickly moved into his prime position, blade reverting to rest aside his head, arms raised, the blade extending out like a scorpions stinger that was ready to strike at any time. His eyes narrowed as chakra channeled within him, then he went for his strike, putting his complete effort into making it a swift blow.
Then it happened. His blade dropped fast, the downward diagonal strike tearing through the dummy at a blinding speed from both his own effort and the chakra circulating his nervous system. The poor training dummy was actually split in half, the top of the torso getting launched just slightly into the air by sheer force. Before gravity and momentum could even make it start falling back down, Soraru cut upwards with that same speed, the head being split vertically down the middle then as only pieces of what was once a whole fell to the floor. Turning Swallow Cut Rank: D :: Complex [3/3]
"Motto!" He called out, not letting his momentum stop. His blade flicked out and sheathed blindingly fast before he stepped over towards another dummy. As he moved, his hands undid his obi, letting it fall to the floor so that his scabbard wouldn't be tied down. For the next techniques, he was really going to need for it to be...well, not bound to his side. The only thing he didn't like about the change in stance was that he couldn't grip his blade with two hands without losing some freedom of movement.
As always, he opened his next attack with Iaidō, Soraru's blade doing a straight vertical down the shoulder of the dummy before he lunged forwards with his scabbard, striking the unlucky training instrument with it, the force causing it to knock over. Twin Dragon Strike Rank: D :: Simple [2/2]
"Motto..." He seethed, his onslaught not ending. This time around he didn't first strike out with the Iaido technique, instead striking the next dummy with the full blunt force of his scabbard again. If the wooden object didn't startle a target too much, then the steel plated headband he had wrapped around the end up the scabbard would.
Immediately after, he spun to gain momentum, compensating for the lack of force since he wasn't using both hands to cut with his weapon. The swing actually made a sharp sound throughout the air to really broadcast the force he was putting in to make up for things. The quick spin tore through the midsection of the dummy, completing the small combo. Twin Dragon Strike: Lightning Rank: D :: Simple [2/2]
He paused a moment then, panting, trying to catch his breath. That burst of techniques took a bit out of him. If he'd done them like he would in normal combat, in different patterns and timings, it would be different. But instead he was just massacring poor training dummies. He ended up exhaling slowly, calmly, trying to manage his breathing better as he bent his knees.
His blade began to glow with the chakra scabbard once more, and Soraru took the moment to try and complete an old technique, that only the more advanced samurai in his country could pull off. The boy grit his teeth as tons of his chakra began to pour into his blade, however it wasn't changing the way it wanted to. The blue edge just started to bubble or bend improperly rather than change form, and he understood why novices couldn't pull it off.
His muscles strained as he emptied even more chakra into his blade, a deep rumble raising from his chest in the form of a growl. His eyes narrowed, and he tried to remember any of his old teachings which could give him a hint. "Why...Did I lose back then..." He would whisper in a venomous tone, the weapon glowing bright but not changing. He remembered going in for a strike on his old sensei, only to be parried with a rapier, then bashed away with a war hammer in one fluid movement. Back then, his sensei didn't even show the slightest sign of strain...how did his chakra feel? How did it feel again?
His eyes widened then when he remembered a situation. A teaching. "Forcing your way through things repulses your own chakra. You can only grow stronger if you reflect yourself through your blade, and through your actions. Only then will your chakra respect you. That's when Bushido smiles upon you, and you learn how to respect yourself." When that little memory finished playing out in his head, the ghost of a smirk was on his lips. Took him awhile, but he thought that he finally understood that bastards teachings.
Rather than forcing all of his chakra into the blade...he molded it. Pulling it back then letting some rush in, proving to his blade who owned it. His chakra began to mold along it better, and it stopped bumbling, finally straightening out properly and beginning to extend. It continued on until his chakra scabbard was extended a solid ten feet. It wasn't a ton, but he was indoors at the moment. He didn't really want to have to pay for damages. "Looks like I got it..." He murmured to himself, blinking in surprise. In actuality...he was pretty damn proud of himself. Soraru finally had the power and technique of the red suit samurai who were the heroes of the front line. "I'll use this...to protect the peace. To enforce conviction. As long as I keep that sharp, I won't lose. I can't lose.." He whispered to himself, eyes closing as he let his blade lose its chakra scabbard, sheathing it for a moment. His heart was too filled with excitement...he needed to get some jobs done to clear his head before he worked on the other techniques. He walked away then, moving towards the exit and heading to the city to look for some work. Form Manipulation Rank: C :: Complex [5/5]

-----{ T }he offering of a mission seemed to be the key to the mischievous little devil's heart, the younger boy sprinting away at top speed to complete his mission. Odd, though, that the sister decided to remain not only despite the orders given and without so much as a reaction, but because her brother had left her without a second thought. The dynamic of the siblings was something to be observed and studied at a later date, for now was the time of his training. Osamu and the newer male splitting off to not only do their own training but, in the case of the latter, leaving altogether annoyed him to some extent, as it further revealed the lack of respect they had for him and his position. Such a thought came as a shock, and he jerked himself backwards from that frame of mind with a rather painful yank. What was he now, to feel that rank mattered completely? Had he not left his home where the concept of "might makes right" was not only a common saying but a universal law to escape such things? Respect was a concept earned, not given, and to demand it simply from experience was not only rude but stupid when his age lay not too far from their own. Despite his size, Wanryoku was only eighteen summers old, with his nineteenth coming up rather quickly at the signs of the first snow melt, which meant that he was closer to their own age than many would even conceive.
-----Freed from his rather startling frame of mind, Wanryoku decided to invest his time into the final steps of his Bukijutsu style, the first he had ever learned and the third he would ever finish. Odd to thing that despite his penchant for oversized weaponry the giant had learned smaller weapon styles first. Perhaps it was due to the fact they came so easy to him, their movements and weights so simple compared to the arts he knew as a child. Nodding in respect to Rina, Wanryoku opened the door that Samuru had hid behind and entered, moving for the storage closet where the larger weaponry was stored. There he found the Odachi, which was truly nothing in his hands, and returned to the field outside. [Oufuu [ Cross Wind ] :: S - rank :: 1 // 4 :: Incomplete ]
-----"I practice. If you need me, I be here." Simple words, said in a simple, soft tone as Wanryoku moved by Rina's rooted form. In the back of his mind he scrounged around the dust and clutter to fetch, with many sparkles and much fanfare, the memory of the scrolls he had studied. The movements, the actions, the pictures associated with each came flooding back to him as he raised his blade a good fifty feet from where Zangai lay, the blade pointing up from his waist in a strong stance. [Oufuu [ Cross Wind ] :: S - rank :: 2 // 4 :: Incomplete ]
-----Taking a deep breath and exhaling in a similar frame of time, the giant began to weave his blade side to side, his knees and hips swaying with the movement at first before he realized what he was doing. The point was to move the blade with rapid speed, each alacratic movement disturbing the air and sending out gusts strong enough to knock people over. However, given that the Dojo seemed the last place he wanted to damage anything the giant kept his movements slow. To outsiders, it would look as if he were dancing, with his weapon being both body and soul twisting with grace through the air. It was odd, reminiscent of a weapon drill performance, should anyone recognize such things. [Oufuu [ Cross Wind ] :: S - rank :: 3 // 4 :: Incomplete ]
-----Each movement brought with it a slight disturbance within the wind despite his efforts given the size of the blade he wielded. Each movement was simple for him, easy, and had he desired it he could have wielded the large blade in one hand. Not many knew that with his size came an equally massive strength, allowing him to wield weaponry and armors that no one would would be able to move under. As he turned and swung, twirled and spun, Wanryoku came to a standstill with the weapon poised outwards, straight as an arrow, in both hands as if measuring for defense. No sweat broken, no heavy breathing, just an even, tempered rhythm that matched the thumping of his heart. [Oufuu [ Cross Wind ] :: S - rank :: 4 // 4 :: Complete ]
-----The next technique to learn was...strange, and yet seemed to be the exact type of technique that Wan would learn at the smallest, barest hint of a chance. Given that the depictions were correct utilizing this would turn the giant into a maelstrom of death and blood and wreckage. Something within him yearned for the imagery to come alive, to be real.[Tetsu Jiten [ Iron Spin ] :: S - rank :: 1 // 4 :: Incomplete ]
-----Taking the weapon in his hands and rotating it sideways until the blade faced clockwise. This technique required him to spin, to become a top by whirling until he looked like a miniature steel hurricane. Once more he wanted to go slow, to take it easy to ensure optimal levels of non-damage, except... [Tetsu Jiten [ Iron Spin ] :: S - rank :: 2 // 4 :: Incomplete ]
-----Sighing, Wanryoku poured his strength and stamina into his muscles, into the blade, and spun with incredible speed. Fresh dust kicked up by his earlier display of strength when he smacked Zangai swirled into him as his body became the event horizon for all dust, dirt and wind to be sucked into. Except one wrong move and he went flying, thrown against the ground to bounce against a nearby stone. Grunting with pain but resolute, the jounin fought to his feet and sighed. [Tetsu Jiten [ Iron Spin ] :: S - rank :: 3 // 4 :: Incomplete ]
-----Eyes sharp as he found the blade his body had discarded so rudely, he inspected the blade carefully for any damage. Thankfully there were none, though where he had been spinning lie a rather large indent within the ground, marking the speed with which he had been rotating. Sighing he lowered the blade and his head with it, his concern now on to the final lesson of his foundation style. [Tetsu Jiten [ Iron Spin ] :: S - rank :: 4 // 4 :: Complete ]
-----The final technique of the style was, strangely, a pure defensive one. Perhaps in an odd sense it balanced out the style which, normally, focused more on the offensive augmentation of weaponry or causing concussive damage. To see an attack that could redirect a technique back at the opponent? It would be useful. [Tetsu Kawase [ Iron Exchange ] :: S - rank :: 1 // 5 :: Incomplete ]
-----Taking the blade once more in hand and lifting it to eye level Wanryoku eyed its edge, thinking of how best to go about this. Without someone to test it with, he would never know if the technique had trained properly, though he supposed he could practice the movements and chakra manipulations for it to work. Inhaling softly, a sort of sandy, vague darkness began to spread along the outline of his body, the formation of his chakra manifestation as light as air here. [Tetsu Kawase [ Iron Exchange ] :: S - rank :: 2 // 5 :: Incomplete ]
-----The particles of black flowed forward in short bursts, retreating somewhat before sliding ever onwards. Few who had seen the berserker blood within him would have perceived the true nature of his manifestation: it mirrored the tides, reflecting the enduring push that never stopped, the pull that couldn't be ignored. In many ways it reflected him, but this was not a moment of inflection, but of action. Of learning. [Tetsu Kawase [ Iron Exchange ] :: S - rank :: 3 // 5 :: Incomplete ]
-----Bringing the sword upward the blade burst into darkness, its form destabilizing as it twisted and twirled with his chakra. Inverting the blade he brought it crashing down, the black spreading from the blade to group, appearing to anchor itself there. Black poured from the top as smoke, the black particles moving forward and back, pushing and pulling with brilliant strength at rapid speed, as he readied the final step of the learning. The final step that would, given the right timing, catch and return the technique back to the opponent. [Tetsu Kawase [ Iron Exchange ] :: S - rank :: 4 // 5 :: Incomplete ]
-----With a grunt Wanryoku brought his boot forward and caught the blunt side of the blade, bending it a tad before the blade snapped forward and released part of the energy flowing through it. The manifestation of his chakra rushed forward, dispersed in a wide cloud until it struck the walls of the dojo and rattled them. Fading from sight moments later, the particles faded from his body and the blade as he turned to catch side of Fang returning, his enthusiasm plane in his expression. Intrigued, the giant placed the tip of the blade into the ground, a light sheen of sweat the only sign that he had been training at all. -----At Fang's words Wanryoku simply nodded, though it did seem to be a little lower than the first he had ever given to the stubborn, willful genin. The child had done well in a very short time, hopefully burning off some of that burning spirit he clearly seemed to have in abundance. His words and promises of having cooled down seemed to come with the intent of, if he remembered the term properly, "buttering him up". Well, in this case, on some level he was impressed. Even as a genin Wanryoku had not found the process of chopping wood to be as fulfilling as he seemed to have found it. Internally shrugging, the giant kept his hands piled stop the pommel of the Odachi he had been using, the weapon taller than Fang himself but not nearly large enough to be considered 'right sized' for the jounin. "Before I do, tell me. What you learn from mission?" An odd question to bestow, but one he felt the child needed to learn. Would the child answer with the obvious, that he had 'learned to chop wood', or would he realize the other reason Wanryoku had sent him to this particular mission: because it had been both a reward and a punishment, as well as a lesson. His anger could be directed to do good if only he harnessed it instead of letting it harness him, which was all that revenge ever truly did. Oh, yes, Wanryoku knew of revenge, knew the stoked wildfire that burned bright in the hearts of those who sought it, that burning light that scoured all sense of integrity from one's eyes as they saw only the prize they sought: pain. For what vengeance was ever truly complete until the target felt pain? The thoughts aside, he waited for his answer before moving on, curious, as previously mentioned, as to the complexity of the boy's answer and insight.

Fang thought hard about Wanryoku's question. It was one of those things that required him to actually think for once. While part of him and his built-in cynicism wanted to state something obvious and asinine, he refrained. Instead Fang decided to go for something more mature and philosophical, "Honestly, I was thinking about how difficult it is for the villagers to go and gather firewood themselves. To pick up an axe, find something like a wheelbarrow, and turn trees into firewood. It's something so arduous, that I could not imagine a villager doing it. Too dangerous." He said this smiling, forming a small laugh as it was meant as a playful joke. "I learned in all seriousness that chopping firewood kind of sucks. It's hard work. But, I think in a sense it's rewarding because you can help others."
Approaching Wanryoku, Fang held out his hand in a very friendly gesture and stated, "I know we got off to a shaky start. I am often overeager. Too self-righteous for my own good. But, I want to work with you. I want to learn and grow. So, that I can not just protect my sister, but defend the whole village." He was hoping Wanryoku understood a hand shake motion. He was still a foreigner and in Fang's mind whatever land the behemoth came from was probably far too treacherous for pleasantries like idol conversation and the shaking of a hand as a start to a friendship. Fang was beginning to think Wanryoku was not as bad as he first measured. Internally, while Fang hated to be wrong, he was wrong about Wanryoku. He was no idiot.

-----тhere were others around at the academy-dojo combination of a building, including Wan, but again I didn't really want to interact with anyone at the moment. I needed to get things done, and that meant not getting caught up talking to someone. I was sure the giant would understand. -----Besides, my arms were killing me. -----I let the bag of clothes drop in front of me and I hobbled the last few feet to the drop-off station that had been set up for the event. With a sigh, I released it for them to handle and took a moment to stretch out my arms. [2/4] -----One of the civilians present gaped at the bag, and I felt a small swell of pride. As much as a drag as it might have been, seeing faces light up made a good deed worth it. I wasn't flaunting my wealth, or at least I didn't think I was; if they wanted me to prove that, I'd spend it all on supplies. My only reason I hadn't was because of purchases I needed to make to better defend the village a ways down the line, whenever we gained access to Takumi again. Setting my hands on my hips, I faced one of the workers. "I want to help out here as well, but I, ah..." I rubbed the back of my neck uncomfortably. Admitting something I didn't know always embarrassed me. But I didn't really know any crafting skills. I wanted to learn to work with leather so that I could make and fix my own armor, but that meant learning the very basics of tailoring first. "Could you show me what to do?" -----A smile lit up on the woman's face. "Of course!" she enthused. [3/4] -----A while later, after learning what I needed to know for this particular process on the cheap jacket I'd bought before going to Hakanai's village, I got to work with the actual project. For the moment, I was given simple work, stitching holes in damaged clothes, or adding patches if holes were too big. The actual making of clothing was left to the more experienced workers, which was perfectly fine. At some point, it became a mindless task, more or less, or at least a distraction from my position. It required thought, but it was more thought of where to put the needle and how to not stab myself with it. Because that hurt. Finishing with a pile of clothes I'd been given, I decided to take a break. [4/4] [Mission: Clothes, Clothes, and more Clothes! complete]

-----{ W }hat must it be like, to be so mercurial in one's thoughts and emotions? The boy offered his hand after giving the moment some thought, staying still and keeping the insults and shouting to a stillness that Wanryoku had not thought possible. Odd, that after what had been nearly an hour his mind had been changed so much. Then again, who was he to judge, when a moment's action had cemented a deep hatred and rage for a very particular shinobi in his past? Sometimes the triggers to fire one over the edge of change could be small, minute instants of clarity, and clearly he had no hold on that market of possibility. Nodding slowly, facial expression giving nothing away, the sun peeked over the horizon at last as he reached for the child's hand, taking it in a firm grip to show the respect the genin was due. That a small smile had made its way onto his face might well show the boy how important his answer, and his following words, had been. "My goal, my life goal, is to defend this village. I am Adviser to the Raikage for reason. I will help you grow strong, but I expect hard work. I expect obedience. You work with others to get better, for Shinobi often work together to overcome foes. Only when that proven will I train you by self. Understood?"
-----The offer was the best the boy was going to get, with what Wanryoku had plans for, yet he knew that didn't completely answer the boy's words. "Work hard, train hard, be respectful. Do that, and you do good."

-----αfter a short break, I returned to help out with the clothes. The woman from before handed me another pile of clothes to work on. It wasn't exactly something I wanted to do, but again it felt good to help out, and was better than working on paper work. Besides, no one was demanding anything from me and it gave me a chance to clear my thoughts and focus only on what was right in front of me. Taking a seat with the pile, I got to work. [1/4] -----The work was simple, but busy. I mostly focused on not stabbing myself with the needle. And I did just that. Jerking my hand away, I shook it out quick, which received a chuckle from one of the other workers nearby. My response was a scowl at first--it hurt--but given how minor it was compared to what I'd been through, the frown quickly vanished, replaced with a small grin. Shaking my head, I returned my attention to the task. [2/4] -----We went on in silence fore a while. A couple others were chatting about the weather, and how it was getting colder again. It'd been a constant stream of rain for quite some, and pouring rain at that. My hair and clothes still clung to me with water from the journey here. It was uncomfortable, and I hated getting wet. But at least my delivery had been dry. -----A voice interrupted my thoughts. "Everything alright, Mr. Raikage?" The same woman who'd helped me learn what to do when I arrived. -----I realized then that I'd zoned out, for a minute, and suddenly felt self-conscious. "Ah, no. Sorry." My gave pivoted away from the window back to my work. -----She laughed again, her face glowing with a smile. "What do you have to apologize for?" She leaned a bit closer, and spoke quietly. "It makes a lot of people happy to see you here helping out." I gave her a questioning look and she continued. "We worry sometimes that we're expendable to whatever all of you are fighting about." -----My eyes widened a bit, but not necessarily in surprise. It was something I already knew, but hearing it directly from someone hurt. I looked away again, focusing on the fabric in my hands. "I'm working on fixing that." -----I could hear the smile in her voice. "I know." [3/4] -----But it didn't necessarily mean everyone else knew. That cloud of despair that hung over the village after the last attack never really disappeared completely. It was getting there, but there were still plenty of problems that I didn't have the hands to deal with. There were something close to fifty thousand villagers, and many less of us. Sighing to push away the thoughts, I let the comfortable silence hang while I finished the pile of clothes I'd been given. [4/4]

-----{ I }t seemed the child understood after all, and with that Wanryoku was done with their training for the moment. At least for his Genin, but the village needed more supplies to face the oncoming last legs of winter. Knees aching were a sign of the end times as far as snow went, and right now it was difficult to walk straight which ensured a large snowfall. Taking a deep breath the giant moved for the job board, considering how best to help. There were things he could teach to children and adults that would help them survive, given his experience with the gold, but...trees. Perhaps a mix of both? The considerations ran rampant within the giant's skull, but he fell still after a few choice minutes and turned to leave. He already had a plan in mind as he made for the exit, shouting over his shoulder as he went. "I go teach children and get more wood. When want, train with sister to fight together. Kurabou." And with that, he was gone.

Hatsu's trip from the office was not exactly uneventful, the constant rain turning to snow, coupled with some harsh winds. Her training and natural ability allowed her to hold her ground long enough to get indoors. Once inside the dojo, she would brush snow off her new dress, the fabric being somewhat resistant to water, it wouldn't become soaked straight away. Once she was done cleaning herself off she would start stretching, readying herself for some training. [1/3]
Once she was done stretching, she would work her gymnastics. Standing in place she would execute a series of flips and twists. She kept this up for a while, repetition being key for her success. [2/3]
Once she had enough gymnastics she would then do a few laps around the room. Normally she would do this outside, but she didn't think there would be a chance of her going out again any time soon. Catching her breath she would go to get some scrolls for her training. [3/3 Soft Physical Formless - A Rank Trained]

Tsumetai [ Cold to the Touch ]: The skin of each Shinsetsu clan member is chilled; producing a refreshing, almost intoxicating aura. This aura does not stretch far from one's person, and only the Shinsetsu and those in direct contact with him/her can truly appreciate the feeling. Because of this attribute, humidity is a foreign concept to the Shinsetsu, and only the most extreme of heats will cause those within tsumetai's effect to break a sweat. Additionally, this consistent cold has weathered their skin and innards, providing an internal and external resistance to freezing temperatures. Although not exactly topical, it should be noted that thanks to their relaxing aura, the Shinsetsu are considered some of the most desirable lovers in the world. Basic Endurance Training :: The Stamina costs of X-Rank techniques in Pi Qua Quan are reduced by 5, down to a minimum cost of 5. Good god it was cold. If Soraru hadn't used a few bursts of Body Flicker, he'd definitely be suffering from hypothermia and frostbite. I need to start wearing something thicker...warmer. He mentally noted, before rushing through the door of the dojo. It wasn't his first choice in places to wait out a blizzard, however just about everywhere else was completely boarded up. The genin shut it fast behind him, then bent over to place his hands on his knees, panting and shivering, his breaths uneven. Rain and snow he was okay with, but a full on blizzard wasn't fun for anyone. His clothes and hair were wet and spotted white in areas, and it definitely didn't contribute to him heating up...the warmth of the dojo did help though.
His hands rose to try and get the snow out his hair first, but there was just too much on his clothes for him to really bother with on his own. For that reason, he let his eyes wander the room to see that a few people were still around from earlier. Not to mention some new additions that seemed to include his squad leader. Now while he'd love to ask someone to blast him with a Fuuton Ninjutsu so the snow would blow off, or collide some Katon with his Suiton to steam the place up a bit, he knew that people had their own business to worry about. Sighing at that tiny realization, he just shook his head roughly for a moment to get rid of some dampness in his hair, and patted himself down to get rid of the majority of snow.
(Training stuffs)
Okay. While he was there, he had might as well get some training done with. His hand lowered to the hilt of his katana, and he unsheathed it smoothly, the sound of the steel scraping oh so gently against the saya giving him a strange feeling of content, as it always did. He held his blade with both hands in front of him, eyes closed as he began to focus his chakra towards the tip of his blade. [1/4]
It was a little tiresome to actually focus all his chakra, actually. Not because of any matters of strength or proficiency, but rather because he was pretty hungry and it was really distracting. It almost made him laugh, when he thought about what he'd done earlier. Oh, so noble. Feeding the less fortunate and not even taking any for himself because he didn't want to take any from them. It just seemed silly, as it just seemed so uncharacteristic of him. But the ideals of Bushido still had hold on him, the very religion that allowed him to use the Tetsu no Ryu style in the first place. [2/4]
The boy let his chakra flow out a bit more sharply, focused, the blade lighting up a bright blue in return with his chakra. He sucked his teeth, but didn't drop stance. That wasn't what he was trying to do. The chakra scabbard technique was easy enough to use, which is why it was ranked so lowly. The technique he was aiming for was a stage three ability, which used both chakra and his own energy to destroy a weakness that many katana masters faced. Range. A poleaxe, or even some sabers could out range the shorter katana, so samurai ended up creating a way to fire chakra forwards in a way that extended the weapon, though it really looked more like a less powerful version of the legendary Divine Wind technique. [3/4]
His hands gripped onto the hilt tighter, and his breath evened out. For a moment, he removed thoughts of hunger, cold, or worry from his mind. Instead, his eyes looked directly ahead of him. The chakra around the blade seemed to follow the path of his eyes, and moved on towards the tip. glowing brightly. Giving a step forwards, Soraru pulled back on his katana before thrusting outwards, holding back a grin when he watched the chakra extend from the tip of his weapon in a direct beam forwards. Wow...the extra range was weightless, and added eight feet onto has already near three foot long katana. A grin may not have broke out, but there was no helping the happy glow in his eyes, or the smirk that he just couldn't resist. [4/4]
Drying Pole Rank: C :: Complex [Complete]
Naturally, Soraru wasn't satisfied with just one technique learned, though he was very happy. The next technique would be the last that he really needed, and the only other within the stage three class of Tetsu no Ryu. Blue eyes closed as he prepared himself for the technique, his blade raising up for a moment as he flicked it, then spun his hand around the tsuba so that the point now faced his saya. [1/4]
As the blade slid in, only the faintest hint of blue could be seen before the katana was sheathed. A steady breath left, and he felt the strength surging inside of the saya as one hand gripped onto it, the other holding the hilt, pumping in chakra steadily. This technique...if anything, it fit him perfectly. A symbol of his detachment, a parting gift, and a nice metaphorical middle finger to enemies who liked to fire out from a range. His thoughts were focused around old lessons from his masters, his old way of life, and his current mindset of never letting anyone get to close to him. [2/4]
Despite being a Samurai, he could really fit just as well as a duelist. He didn't let enemies get into his head, and in turn got into theirs with the simplest of tricks. In life he ended up figuring everything out about others while giving the bare minimum about himself. He lied to both others and himself, really, and it was for that reason that Bushido was so odd with him. It didn't reject him, but didn't approve of all his methods, while he felt the exact opposite for the religion. He rejected it, but understood it, and approved of some of its traits. As these thoughts worked through, he hardly even noticed how strong his chakra had gotten, how much had built up around his blade, compact in his saya.
Opening his eyes, he glared towards an unfortunate group of training dummies, finally drawing his blade in the Iaido fashion. When he did, the chakra seemed to burst out tremendously in front of him, though all that left was a wave of his power. It spanned all the way to the other side of the dojo, cutting clean through the first and second dummy, only stopping halfway through the third. The last parting, and the ultimate message of his detachment. Sheathing his weapon one last time, he crossed his arms behind his head with a clear smile, trying his hardest to not let pride get to his head. All the stage three techniques...complete. [4/4]
Pressure Wave Rank: C :: Complex [Complete]
So, with his Tetsu no Ryu training done, Soraru finally came to the decision that he needed to hone his less powerful talent, that being Ninjutsu. In the process, maybe even work in a Genjutsu technique. That was all foreign ground to him though, and nothing he knew by himself, unlike the Bukijutsu techniques. Thankfully though the dojo doubled as an academy and had its own scrolls. If he knew anything, it was that he had a Suiton chakra element as his primary, but that was about it. Hand signs and such were just lost on him, really.
As he wandered his way over to the academy section of the dojo, he saw that someone was already poking around the scrolls. A girl, who seemed to be around his age. "Um, hey, excuse me. You think you can toss me a scroll on Suiton Ninjutsu? I wouldn't know what to look for, myself." He said a little sheepishly, offering the best greeting smile he could manage under his conditions of being hungry, and still pretty cold.
Time: Evening (Blizzard) | Location: Dojo/Academy | Chakra: 325 | Stamina: 175 | Communicating: Potentially Hatsu | Rank: Genin | Technique Used: (Training, chakra costs don't apply) Drying Pole (C rank: Complex) Pressure Wave (C rank: Complex) | State-of-Being: Healthy, although extremely cold. Also hungry, but not exactly starving. Combat Equipment: 1x Katana 1x Kunai 14x Senbon |
As she was digging through the scrolls to find some things to learn, a boy would greet her, awkwardly. He didn't look to be any older than Hatsu was. At his offer for a Suiton scroll, she would dig one out and toss it to him. "There's no need to be so formal. Do you need help with anything? I know a thing or two about Suiton ninjutsu as well." Grabbing two more scrolls for herself, one would be for Suiton, and the other for Fuuton.

Soraru caught the scroll easily enough, but he scratched the back of his head with his free hand when she brought up that there was no need to be formal or too respectful. Even the Raikage had said the same thing. The way of speaking between the shinobi nations and the land of iron couldn't be more different. He'd love to try out their way of speaking, but the tenants of Bushido required that he at least open up conversation as formally as possible. "Well if I need help, then I don't know it yet. I got the rank of Genin, but I still may as well be a novice samurai from the land of iron. I don't know anything about Ninjutsu right now, besides the very basic stuff." He admitted easily enough, not really beating around the bush now. Better to say it then, rather than avoid the topic until it became embarrassingly noticeable.
"I'm primarily a close up Bukikutsu user, but I figured I should take advantage of the Ninjutsu I can learn. Maybe take on something that fits my fighting style. Got any recommendations?" The boy asked, curious. Now that he didn't have to try and be so respectful, his demeanor took on a change. Less awkward, more controlled and calm, all due to the Hakemoto bloodline and the effects it passed down on ones personality. On the topic of his bloodline, he figured that he should try and learn one of the "states" it offered, but...ugh, it was just so complicated. Not something easy to learn like sword styles, or even some Ninjutsu. He didn't understand the concept at all and would prefer to ask his squad leader, but the guy was understandably busy. Oh well.
