Suddenly, Chikorita started to glow, just like Beth and Sage had done before. Wow! Three evolutions in one training session! Soon, Chikorita became an elegant Bayleef, letting out a happy cry. "Congratulations. Chikorita has evolved into Bayleef. You are pretty good at getting grass types to evolve." Data commented from the pokedex. "O-oh darn... and I still don't have a name for you..." Gavyn commented, reaching out to pat the Bayleef gently. It seemed like the incense had died out, and there were no more geodude.

"Hmm... How about..." Gavyn said, petting the bayleef. However, he couldn't help but notice that she hand a very nice and familiar fragrance about her. Then, he suddenly had a perfect name for her. "Rosemary. Does that sound like a good name to you?" he asked. Bayleef was thrilled with the name, neck leaves rustling and letting out even more of her fragrance. Rosemary it was.
Merlin got up to rejoin his trainer, seeing that the barrage of geodude was over. There was a crunch as he stepped on the hallow remains of the incense. It crumbled into nothing. The clefairy didn't make a big deal out of it. Sage rejoined, as well, giving his congratulations to his fellow grass types on their evolutions. "Heh... Good job everyone. I suppose we should go celebrate with something to eat... and maybe somewhere to rest." Gavyn smiled to his pokemon. "The pokemon center offers free food and lodging to trainers." Data announced from the pokedex, startling Gavyn a bit. "O-oh? R-really..? Well... that's really nifty. And very good to know... considering I... don't have much money... Thank you, Data." Gavyn commented, relieved for the information, but feeling bad knowing that otherwise... he would probably have a more difficult time. He then beckoned for his pokemon to follow as he led the way back into town.
Gavyn then entered the pokemon center, making sure it really was true that there was free food available, as well as rooms. After learning all about it, and feeling a bit embarrassed as it seemed to be common knowledge, he let his pokemon out to eat. Though, he quickly returned the Trapinch, as it started to cause some trouble. Gavyn even came up with a name for the Jolteon that seemed inclined to stick with him and the odd colored Stantler - Daisy and Hazel. He was still at a loss on what to call the Bulbasaur he had gotten, however. Once all his pokemon were happy and full, he was able to get a room to himself, returning everyone except for a stubbornly-staying-out Beth and of course, Merlin.
Immediately after entering his room, he went to the bed and flopped down on it. It was so much more comfortable than the beds he recalled from his time. Beth seemed to be particular about a spot on the floor by the window, settling down next to the bed. The room was small, but it was good enough for him. "That was an eventful day, Gavy. Think you'll challenge the gym tomorrow?" Merlin commented, climbing up on the bed beside his trainer. Gavyn thought about it, then gave a nod. "Yes. I think in the morning, we will all be fit for the battle." he stated. The clefairy removed his trainer's glasses carefully, putting them on the bedside table to make sure they don't get broken. Gavyn had almost forgotten they were there, but now that they were off of his face, the world was a blur. "O-oh! Thanks, Merlin. It wouldn't have been good if i fell asleep with those on." he commented with a sheepish smile at the pink blur. Soon after, he properly got under the covers, saying good night to his two pokemon before drifting off to sleep.

Gavyn woke up the next morning, feeling kind of like staying in this soft, comfy bed. However, there were things to do. And Beth was certainly not going to let him stay in bed. The Grotle had woken up early, going over to the bed and nudging him awake. She was about ready to flip the matress with her head before Gav stopped her with a hand on her head. "Okay Elizabeth. That's enough... I'm getting up." he told the still blurry shape of green and yellow. Merlin tapped Gavyn's shoulder, holding his glasses up for him carefully. "Here, you'll need these." the clefairy said to get his trainer's sleepy attention. The brunette gave a nod, taking the glasses from the fairy and putting them on his face, blinking as his vision adjusted.
After cleaning up the room a bit and getting himself ready for the day, he got some breakfast before leaving the pokemon center. It was a nice day out. "Ready to Challenge Brock?" Data asked through the pokedex. Gavyn was a bit startled, almost having forgotten that the porygon was still around. "I-i think so... Ready, Beth?" he responded a bit sheepishly, then pat Beth's neck. "Grooooooootle!" she exclaimed, bounding forward. Well, that was certainly a yes. Gavyn then made his way to the Gym, thinking of the best way to handle the battle. He had a feeling that Beth was really strong, but he'd like to start off with Rosemary to see how strong she was. It wasn't long until he entered the Gym, looking a bit preoccupied. "Gavy, this is it. Come on, challenge him!" Merlin said, tugging on his trainer's pant leg. The brunette blinked, then looked around a bit nervously before approaching the apparent gym leader. "E-excuse me... But i'm here for the gym challenge..." he said softly. Brock gave a nod, telling Gavyn that he had come to the right place and that he was ready for the battle.
Brock sent out Geodude first, and Gavyn sent out Rosemary. The bayleef let out a gently cry as she appeared, looking around the gym. All the dirt seemed to... bother her a bit, as she made a face. "O-okay, Rosemary! Let's go for a Razor Leaf attack!" he told her. She looked to the geodude, then swung her head leaf to send sharp leaves at the rock type, hitting it hard. Data wasn't kidding, though, as the geodude managed to just barely hold on. Much to Rosemary's displeasure, it chucked a rock at her in retaliation, and she frantically tried to wipe away the residue from the attack with her vines. Gavyn shook his head at his pokemon's behavior, but didn't comment. Instead, he was trying to figure out what to do next. If Geodude was really hanging on by a thread, it would be overkill to hit it with another razor leaf attack. Tackle would have to do, right? It was her weakest move and Geodude was resistant to it, right? So it shouldn't hurt too much. "Alright, now take it down with tackle, please!" Gavyn gave the order, and Rosemary seemed mortified. Her? Ram herself into that clod? She really didn't want to, but she obeyed her trainer non-the-less. Geodude was down for the count, and Brock returned the fainted Geodude. The bayleef came running right back to her trainer, seeming to be asking to be returned. Beth was more than happy to bound forward though to take her place, so Gavyn returned Rosemary.
Beth looked at her opponent as the large rock snake finally appeared. She had taken a step back in surprise at it's size, but stood her ground, ready for attack. "Alright Beth, let's give it an Earth Power!" Gavyn instructed. The Grotle lifted up on it's hind legs before stomping it's front legs down hard on the ground, sending earth shooting towards Onix. It was a hard hit, but Onix held on. Brock gave his instructions, and the rock snake tossed boulders at the grass type, burying her. Gavyn bit back a cry of worry as the pile grew bigger the next turn when Beth didn't manage to move first. "Come on, Beth! You can do it! Use Tackle!" Gavyn called out. The pile of rocks slowly tumbled away as the Grotle burst out from them, charging at Onix with all her might and smashing her shelled body against Onix, taking it down.
