 Should it have been that surprising when a full-grown WereTiger padded into the kitchen? In tiger form? Probably not that much of a surprise in this particular location, but for those who weren't used to the place it would have been a big surprise.
Add to that the fact that the very large male padded in with fur in a deep and pure blue with silver stripes and the surprise was complete.
The mismatched eyes also made the scene just that much more unusual. One lavender and one red might have been a bit much.
But that was the contradiction that was Dev. Short for Devil. Nickname for Mephistopheles. And yes, his parents had actually named him that. Hence the reason he went by Dev.
The large cat padded into the kitchen and moved to sit where Aten couldn't miss him, his mismatched eyes moving between the stove and the fridge.
He couldn't help it. He was hungry. He didn't have hands available at the moment. And he'd been told that if he shifted where other people could see him do so, Sebastet was going to do something nasty to him. Apparently one of the maids was shy.
He didn't pay any attention to the females in the room. They were under the 'age of consent' and he was collared by Snow, who would likely take a knife to a vital part of his anatomy if he looked at either female too long.
But that left the large cat still hungry but unable to get what he wanted on his own or even ask for it vocally. So he had to sit and stare at the best locations for food that wouldn't require him to kill it first. And Aten happened to be standing in the right position to give it to him...
He'd woken up feeling like he was starving tonight, like he hadn't eaten in months. So he'd headed straight here to the kitchen. Where the food was.
But as he looked from the stove to the fridge to Aten, he realized that he was supposed to remember something. It seemed important. He was supposed to remember it and tell someone something. Of course, he had to be in human form to speak, so the point was moot. He was in animal form and just knew he wasn't supposed to shift out of it.
What he didn't remember was that he'd been gone for a while. Along with several other residents. Namely his best friend, Dancer, and the twins, Wind and Blade. The others hadn't shown back up yet. But he didn't know that yet. All he knew was that he was hungry...

Briatana looked toward the door as her eyes widen in shock as her heart started to race and her mouth became dry. She never saw another blue tiger before, not sure how the blue tiger would react to her, so she quickly changed back into her blue tiger cub form, and ran and hide behind Aten's legs as a little bit of fear showed in her eyes. Not knowing how long it's been since she saw another like her she tried to take deep breaths to calm down, her body started to shake as memory's of her family behind murdered flashed into her mind, curling up behind Aten's legs she started to shake even more, but more in sadness then fear. No!!!! Why did they have to die? She thought to herself as she whimpered.
The maid's looked at her oddly and cruelly like she didn't belong, she covered her eyes with her paws and she felt nothing, but fear and not welcomed and wanted. Britana couldn't help how she was feeling, she has been unwanted, not welcomed, and alone she doesn't know how to approach someone much anymore. Starting to panic Britana's chest started to hurt as she started to have a panic attack, never feeling like this before she lifted her head and her eyes started to dart around the room looking for an escape.

Dev barely registered that one of the girls shifted into a blue tiger cub but he had to pay attention to her when she moved to sit down behind Aten's legs. Damn it! He just wanted something to eat! Now this!
Then the little thing started into some kind of panic attack and he had no idea what to do. She was a kid, for crying out loud! He avoided them whenever possible! They asked constant questions, needed constant cleaning, and smelled funny.
Thankfully, his cat had an idea on something. But even he wasn't too sure how it would work.
To say Dev had a split personality disorder would have been putting it lightly. He had at least six different tigers in him, maybe more. Each cat had it's own personality, which made Dev a walking disaster most days.
Thankfully Snow had no problem with dealing with him. And she was hot. She was dangerous too.
He shook his head a bit to focus and found himself swaying a bit. Great... How long had he been without food? He had no idea after that swaying bit.
Then the cub started whimpering and he shifted nervously on his haunches and did the only thing he could think of. He raised one paw and tapped her on top of her head.
It was a total cat thing to do. Something he remembered from his own childhood, whenever he'd get too rambunctious. Just a tap from one of the adults in his clan and he'd calm down instantly. Kindof like picking him up by his scruff, but quicker.
He gave her a huff and considered shifting again so he could talk. But even as he considered it, he somehow knew he wouldn't be able to. That was a problem. What the hell was he going to do if he couldn't shift?
Okay, okay, calm the panicking crap down. Food first, then panicked cub, then figure out what the problem is.
Yeah, that was a plan.
He turned and gave a brief growl to the maids passing through the room that sent them scattering then headed for the fridge around Aten's legs. A bit of fumbling and he had a roast out, nicely raw and just waiting to be eaten.
When one of the kitchen servants tried to take it from them, another low growl ensued that left him alone.
But his mismatched eyes kept going to the cub. He still had no idea what to do with her. So he bit off a chunk from the roast and used a paw to bat it over to her then returned to his 'meal', eating like he was starving. Which he was.
If she didn't snap out of it, it wasn't his problem now. He'd done what he could. What the hell was a kid doing here anyway?

After noticing that the large blue Tiger had patted her head, then went to the frig and grabbed a roast sliding it to her, she had fully calmed down as her breathing calmed down now and her heart beat also slowed down. Briatana sat up as she watch him as her mind wondered off, looked down at the piece he slid her she ate it in two one bit. She started to wonder a few things about him as she watched him eat, in a little shock she noticed his stripes and eye color was different and that made her wonder about him more, but she stayed back to give him space and her ears twitched as she listened to everything around her. Briatana looked up at a maid then the frig pushing a bowl that was empty on the floor as a sign needing something to drink, as she was given milk, she drank until the male tiger shifted or changed in any way. The milk ran down her chin as it tickled a little, licking her chops she noticed something moving in the hall, so she went to the door and pocked her head out, looking both ways she walked back into the kitchen and to the window. Briatana looked back at the tiger and everyone in the kitchen, she jumped up on the window edge and looked in the direction of the beach, something gave her the welly's so she jumped back into the kitchen as sat next to the Blue Tiger with a small smile on her face. Nudging the bowl of Milk toward him to drink the roast down with, and after doing so she backed away to give him space.

Dev looked at the bowl of milk like it was a three-headed creature, something stirring in the back of his mind that he couldn't quite grasp at yet. It was annoying him. Alot.
Then Aten put more food in front of him and he was attacking it like he was starving. Which he was. But his usual table manners seemed to have flown out the proverbial window for the moment.
When he didn't feel like his stomach was becoming too terribly acquainted with his backbone, he caught on that Aten wanted him to shift. He wanted to sit up but the cub was nearby and he didn't want to scare her again so he stayed laying down and just looked up at the naga with tons of confusion in his mismatched eyes.
He couldn't shift and didn't know why. He knew he needed to but his body just wouldn't do it yet.
Then he remembered Snow again, what she'd be saying to him right now.
That was what did it.
He shifted so suddenly that he was left gasping on the floor, his head spinning as the world did a tilt-a-whirl thing that made his stomach do flip-flops for a moment.
He started to raise his head from his hands but thought better of it and just turned it to the side when the tile floor suddenly felt wonderful to him, "Snow..." he said simply, his voice hoarse and grainy in a way that confused him.
His shift had left him laying on the floor naked as the day he was born but for the collar Snow had given him with her name on it, something that only she could take from him and no one else could even touch without a bit of a problem. He was also covered in bruises and long-healed cuts and scrapes with marks at his wrists, ankles, and neck that spoke to a captivity that he couldn't remember right now.
All he knew in this moment was that he needed his sweet, cold, and dangerous Snow; needed to see her again, to hear her voice, to feel her touch him again.
His head was so fuzzy beyond that, that he didn't even hear the embarrassed sounds of the maids as they caught sight of his bare a**. Usually, he would have flaunted it and told them to just get used to it if they were going to be working here. This time, though, he didn't even hear it. Which left them scrambling to hide their eyes from him or run from the room sounding like a gaggle of idiots...

Well... Trust Aten to know how to handle the situation... And Snow to know how to snap him out of it...
As she bit him, he gave a hoarse sound that was probably scarring the poor cub for life but there was no help for it. That sound carried Snow's name as his brain started to snap back into functioning again.
Once she'd marked him and let him go again, complete with another slap to the back of his head, he was able to get himself into a sitting position with the table cloth around his waist and his back against the wall.
He looked at Snow as his brain put the pieces together and gave him back enough memory to scare the hell out of him. It was her necklace that did it for him, though.
He ripped it off and threw it across the room with an angry snarl and let loose a string of words combined with the word 'Hunter' that spoke rather clearly to where he'd been for the last month.
His fit over with, he remembered more and raised wide eyes to Aten then to Snow and tried to scramble to his feet in another panic, "Wind, Blade, Dancer, Desha!" he got out, clearly worried about those individuals and continued as his body wouldn't let him up, "They have them! I got away! Need to warn Sebastet! Damned Hunters!" he got out, his words a bit mixed up and confusing at first. But the point was made...
Thankfully Aten could handle kids. Even the ones Dev was really good at giving a whole new meaning to 'physical education' and 'language arts'. Proving that he really was bad with kids...
