Thoughts clicked back and forth as Darren handed over the glowing, crescent-shaped feather. The dark type might have agreed to the request, but he hadn't given up entirely just yet. He just had to approach the situation from a different angle to get the result he wanted. A solid plan had already formed in his mind when he offered the teen his assurance that everything would be better in the morning. Just how solid it was would depend on how well Jin pushed one of the few buttons he really didn't want to. Given what he had picked up on, though, it seemed to be about one of the only ways he might get Darren to head back to Sable's room without flooding the poor teen's mind with her screaming to trigger a pure panic response. Only audible to him, of course, so as not to wake the other guests any more than necessary. Even he wasn't that cruel.
Jin continued to sit for a while to try and help Darren cheer up a bit, but when the teen asked what the dark type thought of him, Jin couldn't help but stare at the teen with a stunned look on his face. Apparently, that was the wrong thing to do, as Darren quickly insisted that the question didn't need to be answered and rolled away."...You're kidding, right?"he finally asked, apparently having an answer to give whether Darren wanted it or not."After what happened back at that haunted house, you think you're a coward?"Jin let out a sigh and shook his head."If having a hard time giving something to your crush was enough of a reason to call you a coward, there wouldn't be any point in using it as an insult. Just about everyone has a hard time with that,"he explained, bit it seemed the damage was done. Darren didn't look like he was keen to get up again, so for this angle, Jin would have to admit defeat.
As the dark type got up and walked to the door, though, he would show he had one trump card left to play."Hey, don't worry, buddy,"he began, slowing his pace some as he passed the center of the room."I meant what I said before. I'm gonna help get you to give sis that gift."Jin opened the door, then smirked as his illusion shifted its appearance."Even if you aren't the you giving it to her."If he turned to look, Darren would see that it was more than just his voice Jin was copying as an illusionary version of him smirked before shutting the door and quickly walked to Sable's room. One way or another, Darren was gonna give Sable that gift, or so help him, Jin was gonna be playing matchmaker from the other side of things.

Darren blinked in surprise when Jin seemed to have a much different opinion of him than he thought the zorua would. The haunted house... Ah well... Darren supposed he hadn't really thought of that as bravery, but.... Well, he wasn't quite sure what to make of his actions back then really. He certainly wasn't proud of a few things he'd done, not that Jin was aware of them. He had rushed blindly to find and secure Sable, but he had felt more panicked than courageous. He supposed that was why he really didn't attribute his actions as brave, but aside from that, Jin made a point of insisting that having a hard time giving something to his crush was not cowardly, mainly because almost everyone had a hard time with that. Darren shifted ever so slightly to curl up on himself even farther, more out of embarrassment that Jin had just outright called Sable his crush. He had feelings for her, sure, but he wouldn't have put it that way. Though, frankly Darren was in denial, and Jin was spot on with his accusation. Darren said nothing, either too embarrassed or too afraid he would dig himself deeper into this hole, and eventually Jin got up to leave him in peace, reassuring Darren not to worry, but how could he not? Apparently Jin had an answer for that too. He was determined to help Darren give Sable his gift, but... Hadn't Jin agreed that he would give Sable the feather just a second ago? Suddenly, Darren heard his own voice speaking to him. What the....?! At first Darren wondered if he was going crazy, but eventually the actual words registered in his mind, and Darren looked over at the doorway in horror as he saw Jin closing the door in his image. Shocked, Darren stared open mouthed at the door before leaping out of his bed and rushing after the zorua. He couldn't let him go in there, not after the devious things that Jin had suggested earlier. No no no no!!! How could he?! Unfortunately, Darren's shock had cost him in the form of Jin getting much more than a good head start. "Jin....!" He hissed, quietly and carefully chasing the zorua down the hallway. He couldn't shout, it was in the dead of night, people were sleeping and Darren didn't want to make a scene, but the panic was clear in his hoarse whisper. "JIN....!" Darren squeaked as the zorua reached Sable's door, moving faster, but it didn't look like he was going to make it in time.

That lump shifted a bit at the voice, although whether that was due to the teen being roused from her slumber or simply a coincidence would take another moment to figure out. Arceus dammit, he went inside her room. Jin was disguised as Darren and he just went inside Sable's room. Darren's quiet screams grew in length as he picked up the pace, quietly spitting every curse he could at Jin, which were really piss poor excuses for curses, such as "finniky flubbernugget" and "narcissistic knave". Rounding the corner, Darren finally caught up to Jin, who's Darren impersonating voice could just be heard rousing Sable. Good, maybe then he still had tim-- Darren took a skidding turn into Sables room, but when he'd charged in, he'd expected Jin to be at Sable's bedside, not just a few steps in, so when Darren practically threw himself inside, he ended up tackling Jin to the floor and skidding into Sable's nightstand, causing quite the racket. "Oof! Ah! Jin! I'm sorry, are you ok-- Wait!!! No! I am not apologizing to you, you....! You...!" He was so upset with the Zorua right now he could spit, but he couldn't think of any more insulting alliterations. He held the illusion down, clearly appalled. "Scoundrel! I can't believe you just tried to impersonate me! The gall! The nerve!" Darren yelled, wrestling with the illusion and attempting to snatch his feather back. "I swear to arceus, if that feather is so much as frayed because of this, I will hang you by the hairs of your tail!" He did not go through all of this hard work just for it to become some game for Jin to play!

Asleep. All that effort and Sable had fallen asleep while he was busy. The disguised zorua's head suddenly drooped at the realization that most of his effort for the evening was going to be wasted.At least there's plan... What am I on, now? Plan D? E?he thought before taking another couple of steps towards Sable's nightstand. If nothing else, he could leave the feather there and claim that Darren did it.
A couple of steps was all Jin got to take, though, as he suddenly felt something slam into him. Several things demanded priority for being protected, but Jin focused on just keeping the feather close to his chest and twist so his back would bear most of the impact as he fell to the ground and felt his head collide with the nightstand."Owowowowwww..."the illusionist whimpered as his vision brightened briefly and a sharp, throbbing pain dulled from the impact dulled his senses. He heard someone yelling at him and felt someone grab at him, but was too dazed to quite realize that it was Darren causing him trouble and ended up kicking rather hard at the teen for a few moments to both get him off and keep him away from the feather he carried.
After a moment for the zorua to regain enough of his wits to realize both who the voice belonged to and, more importantly, what the words meant. Jin scowled a bit, and while he stopped kicking at the teen, the dark type was still trying to keep Darren from grabbing the feather too roughly."Oi! Careful, or you're gonna be the one damaging the thing! And there ain't no doublespeak in that one!"Jin warned, still keeping Darren's appearance and voice for the moment but not bothering to mask his manner of speech this time around."Get offa me and I'll set the thing down!"
The scuffle didn't get much time to continue before something new caught the attention of both the males. "Set what down?a familiar voice asked from above the two wrestling males, and Jin was in a good position to notice that Sable was leaning over the edge of the cot with a pokeball in the hand of the arm she supported herself with while the other hand held her hairbrush and looked to be pretty close to whacking one of the two Darrens in the back of the head."What is going on here?"the female trainer asked in irritation, less from getting her sleep disturbed and more from the fact that she didn't know yet if it was just Darren and Jin messing around or something nowhere near as safe for her.

Darren had to admit he felt a little sympathy towards Jin for hauling off and full body tackling him to the floor, that had been an accident, but at the moment he was too cross with the zorua to really care. Besides that, the fact that Jin was now kicking at him and playing keep away with the feather only irritated Darren more. Jin finally seemed to come out of his frantic daze to warn Darren to be careful, otherwise Darren would damage the feather, emphasizing the fact that it would be Darren, not his illusion doing the damage when he insisted there was no doublespeak there. Darren wasn't listening though, and after a bit more grappling, Jin swore that if Darren got off of him, he'd set the feather down. "Why should I trust anything you say?!" Darren shot back, thought both Darren and his illusion halted their struggle as a third voice interjected, asking what Jin would set down. Jin's illusion glanced up from the floor and Darren turned his gaze up and to his right to meet Sable's. "S-sable.... I'm sorry." Darren shot a glare at Jin's illusion. "I told you she'd be asleep!" He scolded, snatching the feather from Jin's illusionary hand and standing with a sigh. "Though.... I suppose this is all my fault. If I'd just done what needed to be done in the first place, this wouldn't be happening right now...." He sighed, approaching Sable carefully. "This is um... Horrible timing, I know, but...." He held out the softly glowing feather, which thanks to Jin, had survived their fighting in good condition, meeting Sable's eyes like Jin had suggested. "I-I've been meaning to er... Give this to you. It's supposed to help with nightmares, and I thought you might.... That is... I-I er..." That was it, he'd finished his line but now he was continuing to ramble for some reason. It was a good thing the room was dark, because Darren could feel his ears getting hot again, so he looked away sheepishly, stuffing his other hand in his pocket while he awaited Sable to either take the feather, or smack him with her hairbrush.

Jin winced when he was scolded and didn't fight to keep Darren from taking back the feather. How was he supposed to know she fell asleep while he was gone? From what he had seen so far, Sable was more apt to rest with her eyes closed for most of the night as opposed to actually sleeping. The dark type didn't bother with defending himself, though, since it seemed he had already thrown away whatever good opinion Darren had of him with his gambit. Instead, he took Darren's standing up as an opportunity to shift back to his usual appearance and slink away from what was going on.
Sable watched as Darren apologized and offered her what he and Jin had apparently been wrestling over, a small feather that, if what Darren was saying was right, could help ward off nightmares. After a moment, Sable sighed lightly and shifted around to sit up properly. Mostly so she could set aside the hairbrush and pokeball, but also so she didn't have to look up quite as much to talk to Darren. A small chuckle escaped as she smiled softly."That's a... Well, it's a relief. I had thought... That maybe..."the teen started, then shook her head."Well, I guess it doesn't matter what I thought, since I was obviously wrong."Sable then gave Darren another smile as she carefully took the feather from him."Thanks. I'll be sure to take good care of it,"she told him before laying back down.

Darren couldn't help but flinch ever so slightly as Sable suddenly started to move, almost certain she was going to whack him for waking her up, or scold him for creating all this fuss over a stupid feather. Fortunately, that was not the case, as she was just shifting to sit up and set aside the items she'd been clutching earlier. Darren relaxed, happy that she wasn't mad at him. He would have understood if she were, but it was of course a relief that she actually seemed... Happy somehow. She started to explain, but Darren only gave her a quizzical look as she trailed off and insisted that it didn't matter since she was wrong. "Heh... True, but now you've gone and gotten me curious. What's relieving? That Jin and I aren't actually at each other's throats?" He chuckled, joking. Well, mostly. He was still pretty upset with the zorua, but the fact that things seemed to have worked out for the better made Jin's actions more forgivable at the very least. Sable took the feather, promising to take good care of it, and Darren breathed a sigh of relief. He'd done it. Somehow, he'd done it, even though this wasn't at all how he'd expected to go about giving the feather to Sable, at least it was over with, and he could rest easy knowing that she could rest easy too. It was like a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders.... Maybe a little too much weight. Darren's dim view of the dark room suddenly went black, and he could no longer tell up from down. The world seemed to sway below his feet and suddenly he got the sensation that he was falling. Darren felt his back hit the floor and let out a grunt. "Oof...!" He lay there, staring at the ceiling in a dizzy daze when his vision came back. All the stress and blood rushing to his head had done a number on him it seemed. "I-I'm okay....!" He reassured a probably worried Sable. "S-sorry... I think I can only stand for one act of courage a day.... Literally. Aha...ha....." He chuckled deliriously, continuing to lay on the floor. It was probably for the best anyways, and besides, the cool tile actually felt rather nice.

Sable shook her head, refusing to ease Darren's curiosity."Just... Don't worry about it,"she insisted, refusing to say anything else on the matter. Instead, she focused on dealing with the feather Darren was giving her, which she accepted gladly even though she didn't think she really had anywhere to put it for the moment. Well, it wasn't like she couldn't fix that once she was able to move about on her own. For now, it could sit on the nightstand while she slept, provided no one else bumped their head into it.
That seemed to be the least of the teen's problems, though, as Darren suddenly collapsed."D-Darren?!"Sable quickly scrambled to get herself out of the cot so she could check on the teen, although his insistence that he was fine was enough to keep her from interfering. It didn't keep the little gekkit, who had been roused by all the commotion and had also been watching the scene, from hopping off the cot and going over to sniff at Darren, resulting in him being poked at by a cold nose.
After giving the teen a moment to rest a bit, Jin took a couple of cautious steps towards Darren."If you need some... Need a hand up, just say so..."he hesitantly offered, figuring the last thing Darren wanted was an offer to "help" out of him. Even though things went more or less as planned, the dark type still felt bad about tricking the teen. And kicking him, he really felt bad about that part. Still, he didn't want to just leave the poor guy on the floor.

Darren frowned slightly as Sable insisted that he not worry about her mistaken thoughts. "Well... Alright, if you say so." He nodded. He supposed it was pointless to know, but he couldn't help but wonder what she'd been thinking. Not to mention, if it was really nothing important, then she wouldn't care enough to hide it, and that made him even more curious, but he would respect her wishes and leave it be. Though, he soon collapsed, making it rather hard to persist in finding out in the first place. Darren wasn't quite sure what came over him, he'd just suddenly felt really dizzy. Maybe his knees had been locked. He did feel rather anxious when presenting Sable with that feather, so he assumed the pressure was just a bit to much for his body to handle. He felt bad for scaring Sable, but it really couldn't be helped. He at least was able to quickly recover and insist he was fine, though he snickered, giggled, and wiggled when Sable's gekkit prodded him with a freezing nose. "Heehee!!! Keeheehee! S-stop...! That tickles! Hahaaha!" He squirmed and scooped the gekkit up gently so that he could stop the prodding with distance and catch his breath. After a moment, Jin spoke, offering a hand up should he need it. Darren nodded tiredly. "Y-yeah, a hand up would be great." He agreed, indicating that he wanted that hand up then and there. It was as if Darren had forgotten his quarrel with Jin, but then again, he hadn't really been mad, more irritated and scared than anything else. Now that the moment was over and things had worked out well, Darren had already forgiven Jin for the most part. So as soon as Jin extended his hand, Darren held Sable's gekkit snugly in one arm, taking his hand with the other to pull himself back up. With that, he leaned over Sable's lap to let her gekkit down from his arm with a small smile. Though, he glanced at Sable and hesitated, looking tempted to say or do something else, but instead he seemed to settle on saying; "Anyways... I'll quit bugging you now so you can get some decent rest..." He offered. "I'm.... Pretty exhausted myself." He chuckled, stepping away and ruffling his hair a bit. "Er.... Goodnight. I'll see you in the morning." He nodded, stepping out the door and quickly making his way to his room again. At last, it was over and done with. He breathed a sigh of relief, feeling relaxed as he came to his room, and after he had changed into some pajamas and brushed his teeth, he flopped into bed for a good night's sleep.

As bad as it seemed to be, what with Darren collapsing, Sable couldn't help but giggle as Darren was assaulted by the damp nose of coldness. It didn't help that, seeing how the teen reacted, the gekkit felt encouraged to keep bumping him with her nose as if it were some sort of game. That game ended soon enough when Darren scooped up the little fox pokemon to keep her from poking him anymore. Plus, he had let Jin know that he did, indeed, want a hand up, so after a moment of waiting so Darren could adjust the position of the gekkit, the disguised zorua helped pull the collapsed teen up."Come on, little lady. Let's let Darren get some sleep,"the trainer cooed as the little fairy fox was set back onto her lap, petting her so that she could get comfortable.
After everything settled down, Darren excused himself to go to bed and Jin decided to stick around for the evening. The night passed without incident, and the next several days passed calmly as well. Although Sable had mostly been confined to her room, she couldn't claim that she was lonely. Jin was almost always around, which meant the little gekkit was, too. Darren also was a regular visitor, only spending less time than Jin due to the fact that Jin typically spent the night in his trainer's room. One afternoon, Sable was cleared to leave the pokemon center, which meant the trio could get back on the move again. That left just one little problem...
"So..."Sable began as she took a bite of her salad, having figured on the group getting some lunch at the cafeteria before heading on their way."...What are we going to do about her?"The "her" in question was the gekkit, who had moved her bowl of food away from the other pokemon so that she could eat while being next to Jin. Even though she seemed to like the rest of the group after the amount of time spent around them, if offered the choice and not keen on messing with someone she usually hung around Jin the most. That was fine while the group was stuck in Pewter and waiting for Sable to be allowed to leave, but now... Now, it wasn't so good.
Jin swallowed hard to clear his mouth of the bite he had taken of a fish sandwich and glanced at the gekkit briefly."Well, I think that'd be rather obvious. Someone catches her and she comes with us,"the dark type answered bluntly, then reached down and rubbed the gekkit's head when she yipped in agreement."Obviously she likes the idea, and it'd be better for her to be around people she's comfortable with than trying to get used to yet another new person."Jin's sandwich was temporarily abandoned as he let the gekkit climb onto his lap and continued rubbing her head.

Time passed, days went by, and as promised, Darren stuck with Sable while she recovered, being sure to check in every so often to keep her company and entertain her during the wait. When Sable was resting though, Darren kept himself busy by training around the city and exploring. In doing so, he'd managed to find and collect a few things, another mysterious incense, and two heart scales. During one of his explorations, he had found an egg nestled away in the grass on the edge of town. At first Darren didn't touch it, for fear that it was a nest, and a mother would eventually come around, but after days of keeping an eye on the egg, it seemed that it had been abandoned, so Darren took it in, and soon it hatched into a rather spoiled piplup. Though, the spoiled part was mostly Darren's fault. He also happened upon a rather fiery magby when he was walking around the entrance to Mt Moon, and encountered a strange but rather friendly black stantler roaming near viridian forest, both of which he captured. So while the wait was long, there were plenty of things keeping Darren busy.
Now Sable was cleared to leave the center, and so the group was eating a somewhat celebratory sendoff lunch before starting the trip to Cerulean. The conversation was light and casual, but eventually Sable brought up the issue of her gekkit. Or rather, the gekkit that had been resting with them, since technically Sable hadn't caught it yet. Jin pointed out the obvious, saying that someone should catch her to take her along with them. Darren swallowed his bite of sandwich and nodded. "I agree." He spoke up at last. "Why don't you catch her Sable? Jin's the one who found her, and she seems to have grown pretty attached to the two of you." He offered with a smile, though he caught sight of his new magby starting to set some of the bowls of pokefood on fire and immediately jolted out of his seat. "C-chili no!" He cried out, hastily returning the rambunctious fire type to his pokeball with a sigh. The good news was he hadn't done any irreversible damage, and his pokemon appeared to have been finished eating anyways, so he returned the rest of them to their pokeballs as well before sitting back down at their table to finish his sandwich and soup. "Hah. Sorry about that...." He chuckled, scratching his head. "Maybe I should think about dropping some of these guys off at the daycare. All of these pokemon are getting a bit hard to handle...." He'd given it some thought before, but it was likely that he wouldn't go through with it. As hard as it was at times, he loved taking care of his pokemon, and the thought of missing an evolution, or any other moment of growth was near unbearable.

Since the popular opinion seemed to be capture, Sable pulled out an empty pokebal and let it rest in the palm of her hand as she held it out for the gekkit to inspect."How about it, then?"she asked, then waited as the little pokemon sniffed at the red and white sphere. After a few moments, the gekkit seemed to come to a decision and pawed at the pokeball so that it triggered the capture mechanism and was sucked inside. There was no motion afterwards, just the ball clicking shut to signify a successful capture."Well, that seems to settle that,"Sable commented as she let back out the little gekkit. The small fairy fox looked up at her new trainer... Then promptly jumped back onto Jin's lap to curl up and continue getting her head rubbed."...Sort of..."
While considering the new issue of who the gekkit actually preferred, Sable watched the tail end of Darren's little fire problem. He seemed to have things mostly under control, though, so Sable just waited a moment for him to return."No worries,"she assured the other trainer when he apologized for the incident."At least it was just a few food bowls this time."She was a bit concerned about the little troublemaker, but for now, at least he wasn't burning down buildings.

After a brief check, seems that Oaken will be quite useful for that psychic type incense Sable has. With the exception of beldum and bronzor, he's able to one-shot any of the pokemon encountered with either Slam or Leaf Tornado. c:
Also... Oww... Misty's starmie is not gonna like going up against Honey once she has her Mega Stone... After a brief number crunch using Twinneedle as the attack, each stab does 105 damage at her current level before applying either type matchups or defense bonuses... After applying them (assuming starmie's level is at least 20 and less than 30), that comes out to 200 points per stab since I'm not gonna let Honey hit level 30 before reaching Misty. ...I think I'm gonna sliiiiiiide Honey out of the active party after this post... >_>;;; Save her for when we get to Cerulean... Edit: Oops, miscalculated there. It's just 78.75 per stab before type and defense, so multiply by 2 for type, take off 10 to get 147.5 per stab, and then two stabs gets us 295 damage, give or take a point. Not quite as damaging as I thought, but still enough to one-shot starmie... And depending on how that little 1.1 multiplier for speed works (does it mean she gains one rank of speed, which counts as ten levels, or would I multiply her level by 1.1 for purposes of determining speed?) she may or may not get the first move... Although, she'd still survive a hit as long as confusion doesn't ream her.

It seemed the vote was unanimous. Should their little bamboo encased friend want to join them, Sable should capture it. She held out a pokeball and offered it to the gekkit, who unsurprisingly pawed at it to capture herself. Darren chuckled with a bit of amusement. "That settles that~" He said happily, watching as the gekkit bounced right back out so she could be with everybody. Darren would have commented, but unfortunately Chili was causing havoc, and he needed to take care of it before returning to the table, apologizing for the brief disruption. He nodded as Sable dismissed it, insisting that it was just a few food bowls at least. "Good point. There have been worse things...." He thought aloud with a grimace. Ever since he'd brought that magby back with him, Chili had burned though one of the lobby couches, set Jin's tail on fire, and nearly sent Darren's entire bag up in flames. Darren sighed. "I'm sure this is just a phase. I mean he is a baby." Darren attempted to reassure himself.
Shaking the feeling of dread off, Darren finished up the last of his sandwich and his soup. "So, do you think we're all set to go now? Mt. Moon isn't going to be an easy feat, but I think we can manage. After all, compared to Mt. Ember, this should be a breeze~" He chuckled. Not only was it an easier hike, not nearly as steep, but he doubted there would be a moltres at the end waiting to chase them all the way back to Pewter City. Darren pulled out one of the incense that he'd been collecting. "I'd really like to try out one of these while we're there. It's sure to attract all kinds of pokemon within the cave that we normally wouldn't get to see. That's what I've heard in theory anyways." Darren babbled excitedly before pulling out his pokedex to check a few things. "Not to mention, I believe this particular variant of incense is supposed to attract rock type pokemon, which should be very effective in a place like Mt. Moon. I'm also... Severely lacking in rock type pokemon at the moment. Honestly I'm quite surprised, but this handy little machine should fix that right up!" He was clearly excited to start researching the species of pokemon residing in the mountain, more so than getting to Cerulean and obtaining his second badge.

I've heard that excuse before,"the dark type grumbled, still sore about his own incident with the magby."Baby or no, going around and setting other people's things - or other people - on fire outside of a battle is not acceptable."Granted, it wasn't just the damage to himself that had him upset with the magby. After the initial shock, that joltik of Sable's had taken to using his tail as both a hiding place and a refueling station to charge back up on static electricity. So, when the magby set his tail on fire, he had also gotten Frizz with those flames as well, and while Jin was able to take the abuse, the joltik needed some care after that situation.
The tension gradually eased, though, and Darren asked if the others were ready to head out."Yeah, soon. I just want to fix my team layout before we leave."Sable then sat her fork down onto her emptied plate."Honey's getting a bit too strong, and while I want to work with her some to get both of us used to that mega stone, I think it'd be a good idea to bench her until we actually reach Cerulean,"she explained, then stood up and grabbed her plate so she could put it away."In the meantime, I'll want to check out how tough the pokemon in Mount Moon are to see if I can't get Frizz and the little lady over here some practice battling."Sable then walked off to take care of the dirty plate and swap her pokemon around.
Jin was still able to stick around for the first part of Darren's rambling."They're probably from deeper inside. Most trainers only stick to the path and don't bother checking side tunnels and the like,"Jin clarified before chuckling sheepishly."Understandable, considering how easy it is to get lost in some of those tunnels. The ground isn't always as stable, either, and it can get pretty dark, so it's not unheard of for more adventurous trainers to end up falling down holes and needing help to get back out."That was the least of Jin's concerns, but he wasn't actually trying to scare Darren, so he tried to avoid mentioning anything else that might happen if someone wandered too far into caves.
It didn't take very long for Sable to finish her swap and soon enough she returned to the group. The teen arrived just in time to hear the second half of Darren's babbling and she couldn't help but smile a bit."Let's just make sure we're at a wide spot before you light that incense up, m'kay?"she asked as she put a hand on Darren's shoulder, partially joking and partially serious."Wouldn't want us to be squashed by an onix or a rhyhorn, would you?"She then gave Darren's shoulder a brief squeeze before letting go and grabbing her gear.
Jin was the last to finish, but his sandwich was ultimately consumed and the dark type was about ready to go. Something crossed his mind while he was still sitting with the little gekkit on his lap, though."Hey, sis?"the disguised zorua ventured, waiting until Sable glanced over at him before continuing."Think you could spare a heart scale?"Sable thought about the request a moment before shrugging and digging through one of the pockets on her pack."Yeah, sure,"the teen replied as she tossed the dark type one of the scales she had. It didn't dissolve in Jin's hand when he caught it, and instead of trying to use it himself he held it out for the gekkit to sniff at."How about it? Got something you want it for?"he asked, and after sniffing it a few moments the little fairy fox's nose bumped the scale. That seemed to be enough, and the scale quickly dissolved after the brief moment of contact.
"Hang on..."Sable started after watching the little exchange."How come it didn't do anything when you caught it?"It was a fair question to ask, considering the fact that just about any other pokemon she saw handling one only got as far as touching it before the scale crumbled into dust. It seemed odd, especially since Sable didn't think Jin's body being an illusion was the reason. Jin seemed willing enough to provide an answer, though."That's easy. It doesn't work on me right now because I can't learn the move I want yet,"he explained as he lightly shooed the little fox off his lap so that he could stand up."C'mon, Lily. Let me up,"he coaxed, and eventually the gekkit hopped off so the dark type could stand.

Well, you can mark off the anorith, since I rolled an egg for that in the event. And yeah, I got that noted down, plus you were asking for a beldum, inkay, and woobat. I'm gonna have to wait until I can set aside a full day before getting this done with how easily distracted I can be. XD
